The terror group threatened “bloody celebrations in the Christian New Year”
The Islamic State published the names and addresses of thousands of churches in the United States and called on its adherents to attack them during the holiday season, according to a message posted late-night Wednesday in the group’s “Secrets of Jihadis” social media group.
A user going by the name of “Abu Marya al-Iraqi” posted an Arabic-language message calling “for bloody celebrations in the Christian New Year” and announced the group’s plans to utilize its network of lone wolf attackers to “turn the Christian New Year into a bloody horror movie, that will force [the infidels] to hide inside their burrows during their holidays and regret for the participation of their countries in the war against The Islamic State.”
“The lone wolves will turn the streets into rivers of blood, by ramming, exploding and poisoning,” he wrote.
The message appeared in a pro-ISIS group on Telegram which provides manuals for the use and preparations of weapons and explosives for aspiring assailants.
In another group post, a member summoned “the sons of Islam” to target “churches, well-known hotels, crowded coffee shops, streets, markets and public places,” and shared a list of church addresses in the United States, as well as in Canada, France and the Netherlands.

The Berlin lorry massacre suspect offered himself up as an ISIS suicide bomber and took a sinister video of himself walking the streets of the German capital, it was revealed today.
Anis Amri, 24, who has six aliases, three fake passports and repeatedly tried to change his appearance, was also learning how to make bombs and was barred from flying to America, US officials have revealed.
One of his Facebook accounts only contains a picture of a lion – a key motif used by jihadists to symbolise honour – and a single video of himself walking through the centre of Berlin in September.
German media claim it could have been a reconnaissance video.

European populists link Berlin attack to Merkel policies
London (AFP) – Populists across Europe have seized on the truck attack in Berlin as a way to criticise Germany’s immigration policy but key players have held back on jumping to conclusions as the investigation continues.
Former UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage, a key ally of US President-elect Donald Trump in Europe, said the attack which killed 12 people was “no surprise” and would be part of Merkel’s “legacy”.
“Merkel has directly caused a whole number of social and terrorist problems in Germany, it’s about time we confronted that truth,” he told LBC radio on Tuesday.
UKIP donor Arron Banks, who was also a key funder behind the Brexit campaign, tweeted that Merkel “might as well have” been driving the truck herself.
A 23-year-old Pakistani asylum-seeker was arrested immediately after the incident on Monday after reportedly fleeing the scene but was released on Tuesday without charge.

Muslim students demand prayer rooms in every ‘major building’
Students at the University of Maryland have released a list of 64 demands in their effort make the campus more amenable to “marginalized student populations.”
The project, known as ProtectUMD, is a collaborative effort between 25 student organizations at the University of Maryland, including Students for Justice in Palestine, Bisexuals at Maryland, and the Black Student Union.
There are 64 demands across 8 subsets of students—Marginalized, American Indian, Black, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, Muslim, Pro-Palestine, and Undocumented—including scholarships for “students of marginalized communities,” a ban on Columbus Day, beginning every on-campus event with an acknowledgement that “this is Indigenous Land,” that African American professors get tenure, that preferred pronouns are included on rosters, and that “queer diversity training” is required.
Muslim students also want “one room in each major building designated for prayer” and “shuttle services to [the local mosque] for Muslim students to have access to a place of worship.”
Among the Pro-Palestine demands, students want the administration to condemn the “conflation of Pro-Palestinian activism with Anti-Semitism,” claiming that “Pro-Palestinians do not reject the human rights of any group of people.”

Putin urges Russian nuclear weapons boost
Moscow (AFP) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called for the country to reinforce its military nuclear potential and praised the army’s performance in its Syria campaign.
In a speech that recapped military activities in 2016, Putin said the army’s preparedness has “considerably increased” and called for continued improvement that would ensure it can “neutralise any military threat”.
“We need to strengthen the military potential of strategic nuclear forces, especially with missile complexes that can reliably penetrate any existing and prospective missile defence systems,” the Kremlin strongman said.
“We must carefully monitor any changes in the balance of power and in the political-military situation in the world, especially along Russian borders, and quickly adapt plans for neutralising threats to our country.”

Trump needs to rip up the nuclear disarmament agreements and begin immediate expansion. We need to begin underground testing again at the minimum, to be even knowing if any of our nukes even work. Ignore the arguments that this will reduce government revenue, the economic boost by the citizens and businesses keeping more of their own money will grow the economy and government revenues will grow with it. The more jobs created the more businesses started the more taxes paid and the private sector can’t grow without capital to invest. The higher the tax rates the less the private sector has to invest and the less the consumer has to buy needed and non needed but wanted items. The private sector is where economy growing jobs are created, the government is where economy sapping jobs are created.
Opportunity and hope: The David Friedman nomination for ambassador to Israel

A lot has been written in the last week about Donald Trump’s choice for U.S. ambassador to Israel: David M. Friedman, a 57-year-old bankruptcy attorney who has worked with Trump for a number of years, and who holds Zionist and conservative views on issues relating to Israel.
The New York Times and other mainstream-left outlets have been uniformly negative. That is to be expected. The harder left, also predictably, is beside itself. There will no doubt be more to come.
Trump’s choice of Friedman does indicate that he intends to pursue a policy that will differ significantly from Obama’s. And it’s certainly a good call to expect a political “war” over that, as John Podhoretz does. The stake the American, Israeli, and larger Western left has driven into the long-running “two state solution” narrative can’t be extracted without some metaphorical bloodshed.
But while I sympathize with a level of exhaustion and annoyance at the prospect of this “war,” I also see what’s coming as a tremendous opportunity. Instead of approaching the Senate confirmation process for Friedman in a defensive light, it’s time to go on offense.

Fifth is to watch the social media postings of all who are seeking refuge or who are suspected of terrorist leanings or connections.
These sensible precautions won’t stop the terror attacks but will lower the number that are planned and carried out.

Anfangs sah es so aus, als würde der Somalier, der als “manisch depressiv” gilt und seit zwei Jahren in einem Schwanenstädter Quartier lebt, ohne Anzeige auf freiem Fuß bleiben, da er nur mit dem Koran herumgewachelt und die Kinder zwar erschreckt, aber nicht unmittelbar bedroht hatte. Damit, dass er sich als Terrormiliz-Fan outete, brachte er sich selbst ins Visier der Justiz.

Today we are witnessing the coming of the worldwide caliphate. This expression means that the Muslim view of history is currently prevailing in international institutions. We see it with the Jerusalem Declaration of UNESCO, this palace of revisionism. The Jerusalem Declaration seeks to Islamize, with the help of many governments in Europe and other Christian countries, the ancient history of the people of Israel.
The Venice Declaration of 1980, issued by the European Community, which tried to force Israel to survive in an indefensible territory, already prescribed its disappearance and replacement with a people that had never even manifested itself before 1969 — and all with the assistance of the Soviet Union and especially France. The Islamization of Jerusalem and the delegitimization of the State of Israel were already set out in the Venice Declaration, which to this date the European Union has continued to view as valid.
The Venice Declaration of 1980 was a gift from the European Community to the Arab League, aimed at reestablishing good economic relations with Arab countries, which had been angered by the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt in 1979, a peace Europe had not been able to prevent. Jewish holy sites and the survival of the Jewish State were sacrificed by the European Community in exchange for petrodollars.
Since that time, the European Union has expressed remorse for the Holocaust and love and compassion for Israel, but has continued to support, fund and encourage a population whose mission is the destruction of Israel, as proclaimed in its doctrine, and with which Europe is quite familiar. European countries zealously spend billions to promote a worldwide Palestinian campaign of hatred against the State of Israel. They recognize terrorism everywhere except in Israel, where they themselves are allies of these terrorists, whom they call “freedom fighters” or “militants”, against “occupation”. The so-called “Jewish occupation” of Judea and Samaria refers to land that was conquered by war and occupied by Jordan from 1949 to 1967, and from where Palestinian Jews were killed, or dispossessed and expelled.

Ever since Iran’s mullahs rose to power in 1979 and established an “Islamic Republic”, they have worked to consolidate power both at home and abroad. Given Iran’s growing belligerence toward its neighbors, persistent crackdowns on domestic dissidents, and frightening nuclear ambitions, foreign analysts often talk about the possibility of regime change in Tehran. But there is very little understanding of the obstacles to dethroning the mullahs — namely, that the entire power structure and most of civil society is centralized under the personal control of the Supreme Leader. In this way, Iran’s dictatorship is every bit as entrenched as North Korea’s, making the idea of traditional regime change a pipe dream.
The mullahs created a regime — an entrenched revolution — specifically designed to resist change or reform, adopting a unique theocratic structure that uses both Islamic ideology and brutal force to maintain absolute power.
The official name of this system is Velayat-e Faqih (“custodianship of the clergy”) and it places all religious and legal authority in the hands of the Supreme Leader. What this means, in both theory and in practice, is that the Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (like Ruhollah Khomeini before him) plays a direct role in all the country’s affairs; and no individual, group, or committee in the country has the right to question or hold him accountable.
Khamenei exercises his authority through a morass of official-sounding bureaucratic organs, including the “Guardian Council”, “Expediency Council”, “Supreme Council of Leader, “Supreme National Security Council”, “Strategic Council of Foreign Policy”, and of course a “Council of Cultural Revolution”. What one must understand is that the membership of every single one of these organizations is personally approved by the Supreme Leader. Indeed, any individual, or coalition of individuals who might serve as a check on his absolute power is, in fact, completely beholden to Khamenei’s whims, making him the most complete and powerful dictator on the planet — perhaps exceeding even Kim Jong-un in unrivaled control of North Korea.

President-elect Trump’s choice of David Friedman as Ambassador to Israel appears to be an excellent decision. It has already brought howls of protest from people invested heavily in the Oslo and subsequent accords, the “peace process” and the concept of the United States as an “evenhanded” broker between Israelis and Palestinians. Friedman, an Oslo-skeptic, has said he believes that, “Notwithstanding ‘agreements’ reached at Camp David, Oslo, Wye Plantation and elsewhere, neither Yasser Arafat nor Mahmoud Abbas ever had any intentions to observe the minimal conditions required of a two-state solution.”
On the other hand, he said of Israel that he would work “tirelessly to strengthen the unbreakable bond between our two countries,” correcting the relationship between two democratic, transparent, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, free market, countries — one large and one small. Israel goes from an impediment to American interests in the Middle East to a partner in a vital region — innovative, experienced, and successful.
It is worthwhile to review the parameters of the Oslo Process, negotiated in 1993 without the participation of the U.S., but adopted formally by President Clinton, because its underlying assumptions are about to be challenged.
Obama pulls regs that could have fueled ‘Muslim registry’ under Trump
The Obama administration is removing dormant government regulations that some immigrant rights and civil liberties advocates feared could be used by President-elect Donald Trump to establish registration requirements for immigrant Muslims living in the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security filed an official notice Thursday that it is deleting the published rules for the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, a program the Bush administration used in 2002 and 2003 to require male foreigners over 16 from 25 largely Muslim-majority countries to register with U.S. immigration authorities.
During the presidential campaign, Trump proposed a temporary ban on immigration of Muslims to the U.S. After an outcry over that proposal, including from some of his supporters, he said the moratorium would only apply to countries whose nationals have been involved in terrorism against the U.S. or its allies.
Since the most controversial part of the Bush administration’s registration effort was abandoned in December 2003, the Obama team’s move to dismantle the regulations is largely symbolic. Nevertheless, more than 200 civil rights, religious and other organizations urged the administration to delete the rules out of concern that they would serve as a framework for Trump to renew or expand the registration effort.
The Homeland Security notice released Thursday and scheduled for formal publication on Friday called the NSEERS program “obsolete and inefficient.”
“Although DHS retained the regulations that provide the NSEERS framework, subsequent experience has confirmed that NSEERS is obsolete, that deploying it would be inefficient and divert personnel and resources from alternative effective measures, and that the regulation authorizing NSEERS is unnecessary,” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says in the notice.
“DHS now engages in security and law enforcement efforts that were not possible when NSEERS was established in 2002, and the Department continues to make significant progress in its abilities to identify, screen, and vet all travelers arriving to the United States; to collect and analyze biometric and biographic data; to target high-risk travelers for additional examination; and to track nonimmigrants’ entry, stay, and exit from the country.”
DHS also said that aspects of the NSEERS program, including fingerprinting and photographing at points of entry, are now carried out broadly for foreigners visiting the U.S. And the agency noted that since February of this year foreigners seeking to enter the U.S. without a visa have been asked about dual nationality in, or travel to, high-risk countries like Iran, Syria and Sudan.
“The regulations behind special registration and the manual collection of information from nonimmigrants date back more than two decades. They have long been replaced by automated systems that are far better equipped to face the evolving landscape of international terrorism,” DHS spokesman Neema Hakim said.
Since his victory in the presidential race last month, Trump has not laid out a detailed plan for implementing his campaign promises to crack down on immigration from countries that are fonts of terrorism.
However, when immigration hardliner and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach met with Trump last month, Kobach was carrying a memo that proposed reinstating the NSEERS program as well as questioning Muslim immigrants about their support for Islamic law, known as Sharia. Kobach has been mentioned as a candidate for an administration job, although no announcement has been made.
Asked by reporters Wednesday about his reaction to terrorist attacks in Germany and Turkey earlier in the week and whether he plans to move forward with his calls for a Muslim registry, Trump said he was not wavering.
“You know my plans. All along, I’ve been proven to be right. 100 percent correct. What’s happening is disgraceful,” the president-elect said between meetings at his West Palm Beach, Fla. resort, Mar-a-Lago. “It’s an attack on humanity. That’s what it is. An attack on humanity and it’s got to be stopped.”
Trump transition officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the Obama administration’s action.
Civil rights groups hailed the move and warned that Trump will face a battle if he tries to restore or expand the Bush-era registration program, which critics faulted for having no discernible impact on terrorism but causing many immigrants to be arrested, detained and even deported over immigration violations they were generally unaware of before reporting for registration.
“This is the right decision by Secretary Johnson. We commend him, and the Obama administration, for letting it be known that such registry programs are futile and have no place in our country,” said Abed Ayoub of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. “However the community cannot be at ease; the next administration has indicated that they will consider implementing similar programs. We will work twice as hard to protect our community and ensure such programs do not come to fruition.”

FBI Quietly Expands Its Hacking Powers
The FBI quietly acquired sweeping surveillance powers, beginning Dec. 1, it had sought for years, and the change came without a single congressional hearing or vote.
Under a change to Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the FBI will now be able to obtain a single warrant from a magistrate that allows it to hack thousands — or perhaps millions — of computers across the country, or even outside it, in certain circumstances. It would apply when technology like Tor or virtual private networks is used to hide the location of users, or when a computer is swept up in a “botnet,” a network of private computers infected by malware and controlled without the users’ knowledge, such as by an email spammer.
“In these circumstances, law enforcement could remotely access, search, seize or copy data on computers, no matter where the computers were located and without providing notice to the users being searched,” the Electronic Frontier Foundation cautioned.
Previously, magistrates could only issue warrants for searches within their districts. Thus, the rule change raises fears about “forum shopping,” under which the FBI could seek warrants from magistrates known to hand out warrants with little scrutiny, even if no devices to be searched reside in their districts.
Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., who led a bipartisan group of senators attempting to block the rule change the day before it went into effect but was rebuffed by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, called it “one of the biggest mistakes in surveillance policy in years and years.”

A far-right French mayor will be tried on hate charges over comments that include a claim the number of Muslim students in his city was a “problem”, a judicial source said Wednesday.
Robert Menard, who is an ally of France’s anti-immigrant National Front party, will face a charge in a Paris court of incitement to hatred or discrimination, the source said.
“In a class in the city centre in my town, 91 percent of the children are Muslims. Obviously, this is a problem. There are limits to tolerance”, he said in September 5 comments on French news channel LCI.
Also in September, on France’s first day back to school, he tweeted his regret at witnessing “the great replacement”, using a term by xenophobic writer Renaud Camus to describe the country’s white, Christian population being overtaken by foreign-born Muslims.
Menard, who is the mayor of southern France town Beziers, denied his comments were discriminatory.
“I just described the situation in my town,” he told AFP. “It is not a value judgement, it’s a fact. It’s what I can see.”
According to France-based anti-racism group Licra, the trial is set for March 8.
Menard prompted outrage in October by putting up anti-migrant posters and calling for a local referendum ahead of the arrival of asylum-seekers in his town.
Under the headline “That’s It, They’re Coming”, is an image of a crowd of migrants, all of them men, outside the cathedral in Beziers.
It is reminiscent of a controversial poster created by leading Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage, former head of Britain’s anti-immigration UK Independence Party (UKIP), showing a vast queue of migrants under the slogan “Breaking Point”.
Menard was for 23 years the head of the media rights group Reporters Without Borders, which has distanced itself from him since he left in 2008.

Northern China Suffocates Under Huge Blanket of Smog
Large clouds of smog are not uncommon in northern China and the situation typically grows worse during the winter when energy use increases.
At least 23 cities are currently under red alert, and 700 companies in Beijing have stopped production. The smog is so bad in some areas that planes can’t even land.
Hospitals are overwhelmed with patients complaining of asthma and other respiratory conditions.
“The smog has serious repercussions on the lungs and respiratory system,” explains Beijing high school student Li Jingren. “It also influences the health of future generations, so under a red alert, it is safer to stay at home rather than go to school.”
Beijing is one of the most polluted cities in the world – a problem that has been blamed on China’s reliance on coal as well as emissions from old cars. Greenpeace climate campaigner Dong Liansai says emissions from nearby factories caused the current smog episode.

Russia: FSB detain Tablighi Jamaat members in Moscow
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) detained seven members of Tablighi Jamaat in Moscow on Thursday. The Russian Guard Service and special police units helped conduct the operation.
Authorities said that the activists were recruiting members from the Moscow region and sending them to Afghanistan and Pakistan for training.
The FSB stated that the religious cell, Tablighi Jamaat, was being controlled from abroad. Security forces also seized literature and data storage devices.

CCTV shows Berlin terror attack suspect ‘visiting mosque’ hours after lorry smashed into Christmas market

The suspect in the Berlin terror attack was allegedly captured on camera outside a mosque just hours after a lorry ploughed into a busy Christmas market, killing 12 and injuring dozens.
Images obtained by Germany’s public broadcaster show a man in a wool cap standing in a doorway in Berlin’s Moabit district shortly before 4am local time on Tuesday.
RBB, citing sources, claimed the man in the video is Anis Amri, the 24-year-old Tunisian who is suspected of hijacking the lorry and mowing down pedestrians in the city centre on Monday night.
It is believed he was twice captured on camera outside the same mosque less than a week before the attack – once in the early hours of December 14 and again on December 15.

AUSTRALIA – Melbourne Christmas Day ‘terror attack’ foiled, say Australia police
Australian police say they have foiled a terror attack planned for Melbourne on Christmas Day.
Five men were arrested in early-morning raids on Friday, Victoria Police chief commissioner Graham Ashton said.
Mr Ashton said the threat involved “use of explosives” and other weapons including “knives or a firearm”.
The threat was to prominent city locations including Flinders St Station, Federation Square and St Paul’s Cathedral, he said.
Mr Ashton said there was no longer a threat the public.
“We don’t have any threat over and above that threat that we’ve currently neutralised,” he said at a press conference.
‘Self-radicalised’
Four of the men arrested were Australians aged in their 20s, while the fifth suspect was an Egyptian-born Australian citizen, Mr Ashton said.
He claimed they were “self-radicalised” but inspired by propaganda of the so-called Islamic State.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said the alleged plans “were not acts of faith”.
“They were in their planning, acts of evil,” he said.
Flinders St Station, Federation Square and St Paul’s Cathedral occupy three corners of what is arguably Melbourne’s most iconic intersection.

The neighbour, whose name has been withheld, said on another occasion she caught the accused “acting suspiciously” near her parked car.
“He had a notepad and was looking at my car and I thought ‘he’s writing down my registration number’,” she said.
She said he was often at a nearby shopping centre and the last time she saw him was a couple of months ago.
“It’s funny, he’s a Muslim but he’s always at Dan Murphy’s [a chain of liquor stores],” she said.
The letter, which has been seen by The Advertiser, made a number of different claims concerning the power of Mossad, Israeli’s secret service.’
The Flinders Park man was arrested after information was received by the National Security Hotline.
