The MoD said the completion date for training of the Libyans at Bassingbourn Barracks had been brought forward.
It said it would also review whether further groups of Libyan recruits should be trained in the UK.

6. Man shot in face outside Greenacre Shia Muslim prayer hall
A MAN who was shot in the face with pellets in Sydney’s southwest was outside a Shia Muslim prayer hall, which had reportedly received threats just hours earlier.
The 47-year-old was standing outside the fenced-off building on Rosedale Ave, Greenacre, just after 1am when a number of shots were fired, police said.
It’s reported Shia worshippers inside the hall heard the shots and then dragged the man inside the building before paramedics arrived at the industrial area.
It is believed the attack may have been motivated by the sectarian conflict in the Middle East.

The official Saudi Press Agency said the attack happened late Monday evening in the village of al-Dalwah, which is located in the country’s al-Ahsa province. The area is one of the main centers for Saudi Arabia’s minority Shiite community.
The attackers shot the victims with pistols and machine guns, according to the news agency. It provided no further details on the identities of the attackers or the victims, and said an investigation is underway. Witnesses said the attack happened inside a Shiite shrine as worshippers were marking Ashoura, which commemorates the 7th-century death of Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad who is revered by Shiites. Israeli police clashed with stone-throwing Palestinians inside Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Wednesday after far-right Jewish groups announced plans to visit the site despite weeks of soaring tensions.
The planned visit by a Jewish group including ultra-nationalist politicians was to have taken place a week after the attempted assassination of one of its leading activists by a Palestinian gunman prompted Israel to close the site, which is holy to both Jews and Muslims.
“Dozens of masked protesters threw stones and firecrackers at security forces who then entered the Temple Mount and pushed the demonstrators inside the (Al-Aqsa) mosque,” police spokeswoman Luba Samri said, using the Hebrew term for the compound.
In a rare move, police entered “several metres (yards)” inside the mosque to remove blockages set up by the protesters in order to lock them inside, she said, indicating it was not the first time.

Pakistan: Christian Couple ‘Beaten and Burned Alive in Kiln for Desecrating Koran’
A Christian couple in Pakistan have been beaten and burned alive by an angry mob for allegedly desecrating the Muslim’s holy book of koran, according to reports.
The two were thrown into the kiln where they worked, police said.
The incident occurred in Kot Radha Kishan, about 60km of the capital Lahore, in the Punjab province.
“Yesterday an incident of desecration of the quran took place in the area and today the mob first beat the couple and later set their bodies on fire at a brick kiln,” local police station official Bin-Yameen told AFP.
Local reports stated that the couple were still alive when they were dragged into the kiln.
The victims were only identified by their first names, Shama and Shehzad, and were a married couple.
Following the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif urged local authorities to increase security for the Christian communities who live in the province.
Christians are often persecuted for blasphemy in the Muslim-majority Pakistan, where derogatory remarks of the koran are punished with the death penalty.
According to the country’s penal code: “Whoever, with the deliberate intention of wounding the religious feelings of any person, utters any word or makes any sound in the hearing of that person or makes any gesture in the sight of that person or places any object in the sight of that person, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both.”
In 1982, a clause prescribed life imprisonment for “wilful” desecration of the koran.
In 1986, a separate clause was inserted to punish blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad and the penalty recommended was “death, or imprisonment for life”.
The country introduced a de facto moratorium on civilian hangings in 2008 and only one person – a soldier convicted by a court martial and hanged in November 2012 – has been executed since.
A Christian woman is currently at risk of being executed by hanging for allegedly making blasphemous remarks about the Prophet Mohammed.
