1. London ‘beheading’: Woman slaughtered by ‘man with machete’ in back garden of house in Edmonton

A woman has been found ‘beheaded’ in a back garden in north London after witnesses said a man went “on the loose with a machete”. […]

Witnesses reported seeing a man running around the area armed with a machete as police gave chase. […] He said: “This is was a highly visible attack in broad daylight on a residential street.

2. Nigel Farage blames multiculturalism for jihadism and the threat to the UK by the Islamic State.

3. CBC does a segment saying that Canada may be providing the highest number of fighters to the Islamic state in the world by proportion. I deleted the stunningly inaccurate guest they quite expectedly used for this segment in order to assuage any fears Canadians may have of Islam and who actually suggested that any danger from returning fighters may actually be due to PTSD if you can imagine that, and not to the ideology that motivated them to leave Canada to kill strangers for Islam. 4. ISIL, Al Qaeda Gaining Ground in Pakistan, Afghanistan

(Pakistan has nukes, don’t they? Like 200 of them?)

Al Qaeda and the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL or ISIS) have significantly stepped up their recruiting efforts in Pakistan and other South East Asian countries, highlighting the competition between the two terror groups to enlist radicalized fighters.

Al Qaeda head Ayman al-Zawahiri released a rare video message on Wednesday announcing the creation of a new terror offshoot called “Qaedat al-Jihad in the Indian subcontinent,” according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which translated the 55-minute video.

Reports concurrently emerged on Wednesday that ISIL had launched its own recruiting campaign in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where the terror group is said to be distributing pamphlets urging locals to join its fight to establish a caliphate, according to Pakistan’s Express Tribune.

  3. I think 200 is the number they are suppose to have, I know it is enough that India is suppose to have started building more to ensure they can hit Pakistan and China if they have to.

  8. Canadians held Americans hostage in Syria: Report

    OTTAWA: Three Canadians were directly involved in the kidnapping of two American journalists by Islamist militants in Sryria, Canada’s public broadcaster reported on Wednesday.

    Citing unnamed sources, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation said the trio — whose identities are unknown — forced captives Theo Curtis and Matt Schrier to reveal their computer passwords, then drained their bank accounts and racked up credit card bills.

    They also wrote to the two journalists’ families pretending to be the men, the CBC said. The Canadian government said it is investigating.

    Curtis and Schrier were held in captivity together between 2012 and 2013. Curtis was released by the al-Qaida affiliated Al-Nusra Front last month while Schrier escaped last year.

    Ottawa has said as many as 130 Canadians are fighting overseas with extremist groups. Some estimates put the figure much higher.

    At least three times the article states that the beheading is not terrorist related, and yet they go to great lengths to hide every possible detail of the suspect, including his name. He could be a 7-foot Chinese guy with no teeth or a midget Italian albino with one eyebrow for all we are told. Didn’t they used to name suspects as they were arrested in murder cases and the like? Why would they be so carefully protecting the identity of an arrested murder suspect? Why are they so careful to respect his privacy like this?

      • The media treats us like children and there’s nothing we can do about it – they literally control reality. They obviously have a list of ‘guidelines’ sitting next to their computers, put there by some mysterious arm of the leftist/Muslim coalition. I wonder what would happen, for instance, if a French reporter were to call a mob of murderous rioters, “Muslims”, instead of, “youths”? Would the reporter be fired immediately or thrown in jail, or what? Why is every last one of them so afraid? Why don’t more break rank?

        • Chris, I think you’re on to it with ‘guidelines’.
          Even if a reporter slipped and got honest some copy-reader — or even a keyword-driven program like spell-check — might “correct” the “lapse” in good taste.

        • Because most people find letting other people think for them is easier then thinking for themselves.

          Back in the cold war a fairly large number of defectors returned to the USSR because they were faced with too many decisions everyday. They wanted to be back where the decisions were made for them.

        • Hard to imagine.

          Except sometimes in the supermarket there are so many kinds of cereal, I read labels for a while, then leave without purchasing anything. I just go back to steel-cut oatmeal and buy it online.

          Choices involve some knowledge and the confidence to make decisions. People who were slammed for the slightest deviation may behave like the scalded cat who runs from cold water.

        • It was the supermarket that bothered the defectors the most, that and deciding what clothes to wear, they were use to eating what was avaible and were over whelmed by the number of choices and they were use to wearing the clothes they could buy and were once again overwhelmed by the choices. To an extent their minds were overloaded by the choices.

    Its strange that these investigative reporters know the age and sex of a murderer, but somehow manage not to elicit the name.

  11. 3/ Between Lorne Dawson’s droning voice and his banal PC generalizing, that was soporific even by CBC standards (full segment).

    Here is why the Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society, of which Dawson is co-director, is spending taxpayer dollars investigating Islamic Conversion in Ontario (#5 in the link):

    ‘Understanding the causes and processes of Islamic conversion in Canada is essential to avoid demonizing an entire group of people as potential terrorists on the basis of their religious choice. Especially when the majority of Muslim converts report improved sociability and self-esteem as a result of practicing their new religion.’

    Currently Funded Project #7 looks at Right-Wing Extremism in Canada. Fair and balanced, that’s the Canadian way.

  12. 3/ I don’t doubt that PTSD contributes to antisocial behavior and that’s part of what makes these people so dangerous. It’s probably also true that those who go in the first place are likely to be sick in the head. :-)p

    Just growing up Mohammedan is traumatic. Converts should be presumed crazy until evaluated. The first time a boy or young man is sodomized is no doubt traumatic. FGM and rape would have to take an emotional toll.

    There may be interventions before a would-be jihadi leaves home, but cross the threshold and they’re someone else’s problem.

    Let distressed parents care for them outside the country. Set up a hospice in Pakistan or Somalia, orphanages and nursing homes in Iraq for victims of their offspring’s crimes against humanity.

    • Given that useful idiots like Lorne Dawson above would likely end up in charge of the evaluation and/or intervention, it might be safer to assume that every convert to Islam is crazy and encourage him to renounce his citizenship, emigrate to the Caliphate and seek martyrdom.

    Even after their Islamo-pandering son was brutally beheaded by Muslims, Steven Sotloff’s parents can’t stop sucking up to his ISIS murderers. Yesterday, they delivered a statement in Arabic to ISIS, addressing its leader as “the Caliph.” The man they used to deliver their statement, Barak Barfi, is a friend of Steven Sotloff’s who identifies himself as “a brother of Islam speaking in the name of Islam,” which can only mean he, too, converted to Islam like Sotloff did. What the hell kind of family does this after Muslims have beheaded their son? (Barfi, who speaks fluent Arabic and has an Israeli name, is a pan-Arabist from the far-left New America Foundation think tank but he was well known as an anti-Israel correspondent for AP and producer for ABC News.)
