1. Islamic State Captures Russian Jets In Syria, Tell Vladimir Putin He’s Next

The group is now reportedly setting its sights on the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

The militant group has enjoyed considerable military success in the middle east recently, and most recently, captured the last Syrian military base in the north of the country. It then recorded a special video message from an aircraft hangar at the base for Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, and his ally, Russian President Vladimir Putin. […]

“Vladimir Putin, these are the Russian planes that you sent to Bashar. Allah willing, we will take them back to your own turf, and liberate Chechnya and the Caucasus, Allah willing… Your throne is being threatened by us.”

2. Chechen leader, Putin pal vows to crush ISIS after threat against Russia

The threat against Russia and Chechnya came as an Israel-based intelligence news service claimed that the Saudi, British and Australian governments have “credible information” that Islamic State and Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula have plans to launch a coordinated attack around the time of the Sept. 11 anniversary.

3. Canadians held Americans hostage in Syria: Report

OTTAWA: Three Canadians were directly involved in the kidnapping of two American journalists by Islamist militants in Sryria, Canada’s public broadcaster reported on Wednesday.

Citing unnamed sources, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation said the trio — whose identities are unknown — forced captives Theo Curtis and Matt Schrier to reveal their computer passwords, then drained their bank accounts and racked up credit card bills.

They also wrote to the two journalists’ families pretending to be the men, the CBC said. The Canadian government said it is investigating.

(More here at the CBC)

Question: If Canadians are holding Americans hostage in Syria, who should the US blame? Canada? Only South Park Thinks so. Syria? Clearly sooner or later we will have to accept what the group is that is responsible for all these acts.

I left the following comment at the CBC website:

Leave it to the socialist propaganda network of the CBC to call them Canadians and deliberately leave out the salient identity factor. The captors are clearly muslim and captured the hostages to aid in jihad against the unbeliever etc. This is tantamount to someone murdering a group of Jewish people and calling the killers German and not mentioning that they were card carrying Nazis. Or referring to a lynch mob of a black man as ‘American’ and not mentioning that they belonged to the KKK.

How much longer are Canadians going to tolerate a ‘news’ agency that manufactures opinion based on misinformation to the tune of over a Carl Sagan Billion dollars a year? CBC’s reportage is more criminal than informative.

Of course its held for moderation. We shall see if its fit to print.

        • When you know a lot of history you can see the same mistakes being repeated over and over again, and often (as is the case now) you have no choice but to repeat them. The US is involved in a massive internal struggle for our continued freedom and are being forced to let Putin take the lead as well as letting Germany rearm and once again dominate Europe.

      • Up to a point I agree, the problem is that the people rescued then look to Putin as the person who saved them creating a much larger problem for us in the future. During WWII many nations in the far east never saw allied troops during the war and many of that generation refused to believe that the allies fought and defeated Japan and told their kids and grand kids that it was local resistance unaided by any European nations or America that defeated the Japanese.

The Telegraph has reported that one line of inquiry for detectives is understood to be whether the arrested man ‘had been inspired by recent footage of the Isil beheadings of two US journalists in Syria’.

The newspaper says locals last night claimed the arrested man ‘had converted to Islam last year’.

  2. Fox Acquires Rights To New ISIS Reality Show ‘Convert Or Die’

Mosul, Iraq, September 4 – The Fox network sent ripples through the entertainment industry today with the news that it inked a deal with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria to produce a reality series focusing on a group of Westerners taken captive by the terrorist organization, all of whom are under threat to accept Islam on pain of death.
    […]
The show will follow the adventures and misadventures of twelve to fifteen Western journalists, human rights activists, researchers, and others who had the misfortune to encounter the wrong type of rebel in Syria or Iraq. The humanitarian crisis in both countries, the border between which has become irrelevant thanks to ISIS, has attracted reporters and volunteers from all over the world eager to bring word of the ongoing human disaster in the area and to do what they can to relieve it.
    […]
To leverage both the growing influence of ISIS and the compelling drama in the stories of those Westerners facing arbitrary torture, murder, and psychological abuse, Fox developed the concept for the series, which they expect to run for fifteen episodes or until the last member of the group is beheaded by their captors, whichever comes first.

  3. Boko Haram crisis: ‘Bodies litter’ Nigeria’s Bama town (BBC, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29062004

“Bodies remain littered on the streets of a northern Nigerian town two days after it was seized by militant Islamists, a lawmaker has told the BBC.

Boko Haram fighters were patrolling the streets of Bama, preventing people from burying the dead, Ahmed Zanna said.

On Wednesday, the state government denied the town had fallen.

Officials said about 26,000 people had been displaced by fighting in Bama, a key town in the battle for control of Nigeria’s north-eastern Borno state.

Earlier this week, the Nigeria Security Network (NSN) think-tank said the group had made “lightning territorial gains” in recent months, raising fears that the country could disintegrate like Syria and Iraq, where the Islamic State (IS) rebel group has declared a caliphate…”

  4. Cameron ‘not ruling out’ air strikes on IS (BBC, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29057534

“David Cameron says he will not rule out air strikes against Islamic State (IS), which is holding a British hostage.

Asked if strikes could be launched without Syrian backing, he said President Assad’s government was “illegitimate” given his “war crimes”.

The prime minister told the BBC action must not be “Western intervention over the heads of neighbouring states”.

The BBC understands Tory MPs are being canvassed for their views on military action against IS by party whips.

Extremist group IS, which has seized large swathes of territory in Iraq and Syria and declared a new caliphate – or Islamic state – has killed two US hostages in recent weeks.

It has threatened to next kill British aid worker David Haines, who it has been holding for more than a year, unless US air strikes on its positions in Iraq are halted….”

  5. India on alert after ‘Indian al-Qaeda’ video (BBC, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-29058915

“India has issued a security alert in several states after an announcement by al-Qaeda of the formation of an Indian branch of the group.

In a video message, al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri said “al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent” would “raise the flag of jihad” across South Asia.

In the 55-minute video posted online, Zawahiri pledged renewed loyalty to Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Omar.

Correspondents say this is an apparent snub to Islamic State (IS) militants.

Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh met senior intelligence officials to discuss new security measures and to brief the prime minister.

India’s intelligence and security services are studying the Zawahiri announcement video, which experts said appeared to be a reaction to IS’s growing dominance….”

  6. Afghanistan Taliban kill 10 in Ghazni government compound (BBC, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-29059627

“Taliban militants have attacked an Afghan government compound in the eastern town of Ghazni killing at least 10 people, officials say.

Eight security personnel and two civilians were among the dead, police say, with all 19 attackers also killed.

Gunmen detonated two truck bombs as they blasted their way in to attack police and intelligence offices.

More than 160 people were injured and buildings, including the town’s museum, were badly damaged.

The BBC’s Bilal Sarwary in Kabul says Taliban insurgents are in control or active in many parts of Ghazni province, which acts as a gateway from the south and south-east to the capital, Kabul….”

  7. British researchers ‘missing’ in Qatar (BBC, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29058534

“The UK Foreign Office is looking into reports that two British men in Qatar who were investigating the treatment of migrant workers have gone missing.

Krishna Upadhyaya, 52, and Gundev Ghimire, 36, have not been heard from since Sunday, the organisation they were working for said.

The Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD) said it suspected the men had been detained.

But it said Qatari authorities had denied having any information.

The men, both of Nepalese origin, had been in Qatar since 27 August, GNRD, a Norway-based non-governmental organisation, said.

Mr Upadhyaya, a researcher, and photographer Mr Ghimire had been conducting research for a report on human rights in the country, which will host the World Cup in 2022.

Qatar has faced criticised over the conditions migrants are working in ahead of the football tournament….”

  8. Iraq air strikes ‘kill senior Islamic State members’ (BBC, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-29068416

“A senior Islamic State military commander in Iraq has been killed in an air strike on the northern city of Mosul, Iraqi state media report.

Iraq’s defence ministry also said a top aide to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been killed in a strike on Mosul, but neither death has been confirmed.

Separately, IS fighters were reported to have kidnapped 40 men from a town in northern Iraq on Thursday.

The group has taken over swathes of Iraq and Syria in recent months.

Iraqiya TV quoted defence officials as saying Abu Alaa al-Iraqi, head of the IS military council in the city of Tal Afar, had died in an air strike.

Earlier reports on social media had suggested that al-Baghdadi himself had been killed in a separate strike on Mosul.

But the defence ministry said intelligence suggested the strike had killed one of the leader’s senior aides instead.

US forces began carrying out air strikes on IS positions in August after they took over several cities in northern Iraq. It is unclear whether the latest strikes were by US or Iraqi forces….”

  9. US: Terrorist Could Get Syria Chemical Weapons (abcnews, Sept 4, 2014)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-terrorist-syria-chemical-weapons-25249980

“The United States is concerned that the Islamic State group and other terrorists could get a hold of chemical weapons if Syria is hiding any stockpiles, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Thursday.

Samantha Power spoke to reporters after the Security Council received a briefing from Sigrid Kaag, who heads the international effort to rid Syria of its chemical weapons.

The joint mission of the United Nations and the Organization for the prohibition of Chemical Weapons will end at the end of the month after destroying nearly all of Syria’s declared stockpile. But Kaag said the OPCW is still working with Syria to resolve discrepancies in its declaration, which she said range from outdated records to discrepancies on the volume of materials.

Power said the U.S. is concerned not only that President Bashar Assad’s regime still has chemical weapons but that any stockpiles left behind could end up in the hands of the Islamic State group, which has seized large swaths of Syria and Iraq….”

By calling the Muslim terrorists, “Canadian”, as if they grew up next door to Wayne Gretzky or something, the Marxists at CBC do what socialists do best, which is to kick balls squarely into their own team’s net whenever and wherever possible. If they can make our country look a little bit bad, “boot!”, why pass up the opportunity?

I didn’t used to know this, but I am now convinced there is a traitor jean. How else do you explain the sheer abundance of people so eager to sink their own ship? I heard the socialist Sean Penn say once that sometimes he wished the whole rotten thing would burn down so it could be built all over again, clean and new, from the ground up. I think Sean is giving us a little insight into the socialist mind there…
