1. Norway partially closes Bergen airspace over terror alert

OSLO – Norway closed part of the airspace over its second city Bergen and tightened border checks on Saturday, police said, two days after the country upped security following a terror alert.

Norway has been on high alert since Thursday, when its intelligence service (PST) said it had “recently received information that a group of extremists from Syria may be planning a terrorist attack” in the country.

2. Nigeria ‘on red alert’ over Ebola death in Lagos

Nigeria says it has put all entries into the country on red alert after confirming the death of a Liberian man who was carrying the Ebola virus.

The man died after arriving at Lagos airport on Tuesday, in the first Ebola case in Africa’s most populous country.

Surveillance has been stepped up at all “airports, seaports and land borders”, says Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu.

3. Thousands ignore ban in Paris to protest Israeli offensive in Gaza

PARIS (Reuters) – Pro-Palestinian protesters clashed with police in central Paris on Saturday when thousands of marchers defied a ban by French authorities to rally against Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip.

French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve warned organizers in a television address that they would be held responsible for any clashes and could be prosecuted for ignoring a ban that was confirmed by the country’s top administrative court.

5. Al-Qaeda releases video of US suicide bomber in Syria

    • These look like they were made by Israel and displayed for PR purposes.
      Like the tunnels from Gaza to Israel why do they not find out where they come out inside Israel they had to displace thousand and kill a few thousands of women and children .

    So, I suppose the USS George Herbert Bush, the most powerful war machine ever built in the entire history of the human race, is sitting in the sun right now doing nothing – right? I think I read somewhere that the George Herbert can put 80 of the most advanced planes in the entire history of the human race piloted by the best pilots in all of history, yada, yada, yada…into the sky at one time. Obama said they couldn’t do any good because they’d just be playing, “Whack-a-mole”. Gee, he’s funny…

    Well, Obama could be preventing some of the most terrible war atrocities in the entire history of the human race, and he is choosing to do nothing! He abandoned the Iraqi Army in it’s time of greatest need. Obama is causing this nightmare by doing nothing.

    Oh, yeah. He is helping the Islamic State achieve victory in Syria…I forgot. That’s doing something, I suppose…

    • Oh by the way you can’t win wars with air power alone, in the end to win you have to put boots on the ground and use a knife on the end of a rifle to dig them out of their holes. Of course as long as the left works to ensure that no enemy is injured all of this is simply and academic thought experiment.

  7. 1/ Nothing like a ‘non-specific’ but ‘credible’ threat to get the kafir going. Gosj (‘gosh,’ perhaps, in Norwegian?) they’re even going to be checking identification at the border! But can the Schengen area refuse entry to ‘extremists’ traveling on Caliphate passports? That would certainly be racist, and it might be against the law…

  8. I can’t believe Ebola has spread to Nigeria. Apparently there have been several urban legends floating around for several weeks about the epidemic. People in Sierra Leone were denying that there is a disease in a CNN clip I watched last week. It seems people think the epidemic is made up by the government to be used a ruse to seize more power. That and false allegations of cannibalism:

    I imagine the family in Free Town ‘kidnapped’ the woman when they learned she would be in quarantine for 21 days. This is sad. People are going to witch doctors instead of going to real hospitals.

    • And this is why one cannot make progress in these matters until we abandon multiculturalism altogether. You cannot possibly help people if they still believe that disease is caused by Djinn or evil spirits. (Gin and Green Chartreuse not withstanding of course)

      I could make the case that leftist post modern thought, moral and cultural relativism etc. are as much to blame for this epidemic as is the disease itself. Because if you are not allowed to convince people that magic and superstition is BS and that science and medicine is the best bet, then you get what you get.

      • There is a misunderstanding about the purpose of a quarantine. People believe the rumor that doctors are incarcerating patients then deliberately infecting them with the virus since patients go in looking relatively well yet die there. These people don’t understand germ theory at all.

        It is ignorance, cutting across all groups, not just Muslims. My guess it that the “nurse” spreading this rumor isn’t a nurse or she is an aide hired to care for patients who doesn’t know the difference between cannibalism and an autopsy.

  9. Les I would bet its really hard to find good help in an Ebola quarantine facility in central Africa. I am guessing the pay also sucks. And your chance of dying is probably close to 20%.
