    They pick and chose the rules they obey according to what makes sense to them. Kinda like cowboys in no-man’s-land.

  3. I’m so glad that I don’t have to hear the Stones describing Israel as an apartheid state or the new Nazi Germany. That would have been hard to bear. Good for the boys…

    Ah. So someone else has noticed that the new Pope is an anti-semitic radical leftist? He’s big into climate change too. It’s not good…

    PS… I with that it was impossible to put up videos that automatically play themselves. Imagine if they all did that? The whole blog thing would come to a screeching annoying cacophonous halt.

    This pope is a trendy little Media attention whore – I used to call him semi-politely a Media attention ‘floozie’, but since his recent disgraceful dancing around hand in hand with the fashionable “palesteeeeeeeeeeenian” cause, offensively posing next to graffiti full of Jew-hatred, any smallest benefit of doubt which I had given him, has completely vanished. This show pony’s “hero” even today is actually “Che Guevara” – who was quite in favour of torturing political opponents. And nearly the first media act after his “election” this clown did was to kiss the feet of a muslima even while muslims tortured, raped and crucified what should be his own flock.

    I despise him !

  9. Watching Mick Jagger took me back to Gulf War #1.

    I was camping on the floor of my parents’ best friends to watch television, wall-2-wall CNN. Also to be part of a phone-relay team. We were getting calls from Israel to pass messages to worried families here. Most efficient way to manage constant updates.

    These friends – family really – had survived concentration camp, were liberated by the Russians for a brief reprieve before Stalin sent them to Siberia.

    Anna had learned only recently that one brother had survived. Not just concentration camp, but Todeslager.

    Everybody else had perished, but one brother was ALIVE in Israel! Married, a son, grandchildren! She had grandnieces and nephews!

    So we’re watching CNN. Everyone here panicked, scuds falling. Our dear ones – were they in shelters? – There was a hit – what neighborhood? – who knows, doesn’t matter – are they ok?

    And then Isaac Stern came on live from Tel Aviv. He had come to give a concert. Damn the torpedoes [scuds], the show must go on!

    He played, the audience was mesmerized, and we were enchanted. A story people would tell their grandchildren.

    Mick Jagger’s performance on Shavuot 2014 will be another generation’s story for their grandchildren. Always with the grace of G-d.
