In late 2013, a formal complaint was filed with the U.S. Secretary of Transportation (Secretary) alleging illegal discrimination by Kuwait Airways (KA) on the basis of national origin, in violation of federal law proscribing such discrimination by air carriers. The complaint concerned the airline’s refusal to transport Israeli nationals on nonstop flights from New York to London.
The Secretary denied the complaint earlier this year, asserting that KA had not violated any U.S. anti-discrimination law because the airline is required to comply with Kuwaiti law, which prohibits Israeli passport holders from entering Kuwait.
Well this sets a great precedent. Now a rational American admin can permit an airline to deny passage to Muslims or citizens of sharia based states.

April 25 2014 – Germany council election candidate told to remove Turkish symbol from CDU logo
A Germany-born Turkish town council election candidate has been forced to apologize and curb his campaign for the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) after printing a logo with the Turkish crescent moon and star on it.
37-year-old Yasar Celik was running for the seat in Neuss, North Rhine-Westphalia caused outrage when it was found that he had place the Turkish symbol within the C that stands for “Christian.”
Claiming that he had printed 200 bags with the altered logo to distribute at a mosque as part of his campaign to attract Turkish voters, Calik said that he never had any religious point in mind.</b<
Calik was then ordered to remove the symbol after he was reminded that the party had been standing by Christian values for almost 60 years.

Ha! We already have such churches in the U.S.. The old, liberal mainline denominations such as the Presbyterian Church USA, Episcopal Church USA, Evangelical Lutheran Church USA, Disciples of Christ are all pretty much splinter sects devoted to ‘tolerance’. They’ve abandoned all belief in Biblical authority and the members are abandoning the churches as a result. All of these denominations are financially in the red but they are at ‘loving’, ‘nonjudgemental’, ‘accepting’ and ‘tolerant’ unless of course you happen to be a Christian who believes the Bible then it’s cold shoulders and rude stares. The last time I visited the Episcopal Church I attended when I was younger was for a funeral.
UK – Lloyds drops overdraft fee on Islamic accounts
Bank accused of discrimination after telling Muslims they would escape overdraft charge of up to £80 a month
Lloyds Bank has been accused of religious discrimination after offering free overdraft accounts to Muslims.
The bank sent customers a booklet this month explaining new charges.
While many will have to pay up to £80 a month if they go into the red, Muslims were told they would escape the charges. The document said: “We are removing the monthly overdraft management fee of £6 from our Islamic Account, Islamic Student Account and Islamic Graduate Account. So, if you use an unplanned overdraft on these accounts, there won’t be any charges.”
One customer, Anita Milton, a nurse of New Eltham, south London, said: “I can’t believe that they’re thinking of offering one account for Muslims and making everyone else pay for the same service. Do I have to change my religion to get the best deal?”
James Daley, of Fairer Finance, a consumer group, said: “The best thing would be for everyone to switch to the Islamic account to avoid these charges. But if everyone does that I doubt it will be financially viable for Lloyds.”
The Islamic account was set up by the High Street bank to attract Muslim customers by allowing them to keep faithful to their religion.
A Lloyds spokesman said Islamic accounts were intended for customers who cannot receive or pay interest under sharia, but were available to anyone, regardless of their faith.
“Our focus has always been on meeting the needs of UK businesses and personal customers. We offer a range of retail, business and investment products to meet the needs of our customers, available through all of our branches across the UK. The Islamic current account is for customers who cannot receive credit or debit interest due to their religious beliefs. All of our Islamic accounts comply with Islamic law and are available to anyone regardless of background or faith.
“These accounts are structured differently to our traditional accounts and do not offer credit interest or other features that are available on our other products. A comparison with the overdraft charging structure on other accounts is meaningless.”

Malaysia – Non-doctors who amputate for hudud will face the cops, MMA says
KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) said it will refer those who are not doctors but carry out amputations on criminals under Kelantan’s hudud law to the police.
MMA president Datuk Dr NKS Tharmaseelan said the association will not only seek to de-register doctors who dare to carry out the operation but will also lodge police reports against any other individual not from the medical fraternity.
“We will report to the police to take action against him because it is against medical practice and we have to complain to the police because he is not a doctor,” he told The Malay Mail Online here when asked what action the MMA can take against those who are not doctors and carry out amputations.
[…] Yesterday, Tharmaseelan said any surgeon performs an amputation under hudud risks being ejected from the profession, as the MMA would report them to the Malaysian Medical Council for breach of medical ethics.
On Wednesday, Kelantan Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the state is considering engaging the service of surgeons in performing amputation on offenders.
Amar insisted that amputation under hudud is a far more effective penalty compared to the existing Penal Code’s jail terms, as it does not burden taxpayers.

France denies it paid ransom for Syria reporters
(Reuters) – A French government spokesman denied on Sunday a report that it paid a ransom for the release a week ago of four French journalists held captive in Syria for more than 10 months.
Focus, a German magazine, published on its website a report that France paid 18 million dollars for their release, citing NATO sources in Brussels. The report said the ransom money was brought to Ankara by Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
“The government categorically denies this report and reiterates France’s position on the question of liberation of hostages which (foreign minister) Laurent Fabius recalled last Saturday,” a defence ministry spokesman told Reuters.
“Remember also that (president Francois) Hollande has said it is a very important principle that hostage-takers should not be tempted to take others. Everything is done through negotiations and discussions.”

@DP111, exactly. The feminists start by complaining about prohibitions against women pastors and priests. So the liberal denominations caved to their demands back in the late ’70s and began ordaining women as pastors and priests. About 10-15 years later gays began to argue that if women could be ordained why not gays and really why not? The liberal denominations had already compromised so much they couldn’t say no. Now feminists in the more conservative denominations are beginning to whine and raise a stink with the “Why can’t we be pastors” game. I fear that Christians will be forced out of churches and into house churches in about 20 years or so. The church buildings will be left empty of course since it was never about the ‘right’ of women or gays to become pastors. Unfortunately, there are liberals who can’t see through this and wonder where all of the members have gone.
