1. Muslim groups demand islamic rules be applied to flights in wake of missing aircraft.

A lawyers group has called on Malaysian Airlines to introduce Muslim rules on all flights amidst the current crisis the airline is facing over the mysterious disappearance of flight MH370.

The Muslim Lawyers Association of Malaysia has urged for Muslim prayer standards to be put into place before flights, as well as for all female flight attendants to be dressed according to Islamic law.

2. Muslim families are begging anti-terror police to arrest their sons and prevent them from joining jihadists in Syria, says top Scotland Yard officer

The London force says families, officers and community leaders are working better together – and this is being partly put down to an all-female leadership in Britain’s anti-terrorist police team.

More Syria-related arrests have happened since the start of 2014 than in all 2013, which police say is down to parents who would rather their sons were arrested in Britain than killed fighting.

BAGHDAD, Iraq: About two dozen Iraqi women demonstrated on Saturday in Baghdad against a draft law approved by the Iraqi cabinet that would permit the marriage of nine-year-old girls and automatically give child custody to fathers.

5. Turkey: Two dead following Istanbul courthouse attack

A woman and a male police officer accompanying her were shot dead as she attended a divorce litigation case at the Ça?layan Courthouse in Istanbul, Tuesday.

The woman, who was identified only as H.A., died instantly at the scene, while the police officer died shortly afterwards.

6. All Egyptian mosques to be placed under authority of Ministry of Endowments

Although each Imam will be responsible for his mosque, the authority to appoint preachers to give speeches or lessons is contingent upon written permission from the Ministry of Endowments. Gomaa also renewed emphasis on sermon brevity and cohesion.

In a video which appeared here a year or so ago, Stephen Coughlin predicted how 2014 and 2015 might look in terms of an uptick in Islamic demands and effects to Western nations. I think I shall watch it again and see how close it is so far in as much as we are only in month 3 of 2014. I think this is the video here.

    “Maoist rebels have killed at least 16 policemen in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, police say.

    The patrol was on its way to provide security to workers building a road in Sukma district when rebels fired at them, officials say.

    Twenty-five policemen were injured in the attack, senior police officer Mukesh Gupta told BBC Hindi.

    Chhattisgarh is a stronghold of the rebels who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor…”

    “Two policemen who were escorting a polio vaccination team have been shot dead in Pakistan’s north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

    The policemen were attacked by unidentified gunmen in the Dera Ismail Khan district.

    More than 40 people linked to the polio vaccination programme have been killed in Pakistan since 2012.

    The Taliban oppose the polio programme and have been responsible for similar attacks in the past.

    They say the vaccinations are a cover for foreign espionage.

    Militants have also accused health workers of being part of a Western plot to sterilise Muslims…”
