  1. RE: Obm + MB

    Who knows?
Opus Dei was the Fascist, so-called Catholic version of the Salafist MB in Francisco Franco’s Spain.*** Opus Dei had a massive presence w/in Spain as well as contacts abroad. Its financial resources were as limitless as the country itself was destitute.

Its public face mostly benign. But its sinister secret, “private” affiliates were everywhere, or thought to be everywhere. Their operatives infiltrated schools, businesses, media. Informants & enforcers w/in the Church were key to squelching populist priests, who were proving such a nuisance to the juntas in Brazil & Argentina. Together with Franco’s Guardia Civil, his brutal paramilitary police, Opus Dei kept Spain docile for 40 years.

  2. OT – Breaking Fort Hood Shooter Forcibly Shaved in Prison

The Army psychiatrist sentenced to death for the Fort Hood shooting rampage has been forcibly shaved.

Maj. Nidal Hasan began growing a beard in the years after the November 2009 shooting that left 13 dead and 30 wounded. The beard prompted delays to his court-martial because it violated Army grooming regulations.

Hasan is at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., home to the military death row.

Lt. Col. S. Justin Platt, a spokesman for Fort Leavenworth, said in a statement Tuesday that Hasan had been shaved. Officials at Fort Leavenworth previously had said Hasan would be subject to Army regulations.

The dispute over the beard had led to the ouster of the original judge in his court-martial. The new judge had allowed Hasan to keep it as his trial last month.

  3. Poor Hassan

He is not in the news as much. He has no courtroom soap box. He cannot exercise too much to keep in shape and try to affect his mood thru exercise. So he must be getting real depressed about now. the warm glow of the limelight is gone!

Why execute him. He is trapped in that body of his. He might die before they execute him.

Quadraplegics have at least a decade less of life expectancy and some begin dying in the 40s. He is about that age. Now for most others it is unfortunate and we have to figure out how to regrow nerve cells. But in this case it might do the job that spineless politicians refuse to do.
