Hello Richard, well we have a kind of friendly disagreement on this subject. I dont think Israel is going to be the target, neither Europe nor the US. Yet I would never think of suggesting that this is so because the islamic republic of Iran is somehow more friendly to israelis or westernes than to saudis. Saudi Arabia just fits the bill as target when you combine the ongoing sunni-shia war and the apocalyptic shia hope of bringing the Imam Mahdi back to our dimension.
In islams (sunni as well as shia) apocalypse Arabia and Yemen are covered and consumed by “a great storm of fire”, that is one of the major signs before the reappearance of the Mahdi and the last fight against the muslims anti-messiah the “Dajjal” and his jewish supporters. In shia-islam the defeat of sunnism, is of course a component to this tale.

Big Frank you could be right, Saudi could be the first target, but I think Israel and non Moslem nations are at least secondary targets, I am basing my thoughts on the continued Iranian threats to destroy Israel and the US. They are threatening to destroy us and we need to take their threats seriously.
