This is a quick update on the situation regarding Tommy Robinson, Kevin Carroll and Paul Weston.
Tommy has been denied bail and is locked up on the main wing of Wandsworth prison in London. He is in close proximity to Muslim prisoners, who are shouting various threats against him. As long as he is separated from them he should be safe, but if he should be attacked the Governor of Wandsworth Prison will be held accountable.
Kevin Carroll has been released. His home was broken into and searched, his work van impounded and searched by Special Branch. This appears to be a politically orientated attack on Mr Carroll with the intention clearly being to discredit him before the Police and Crime Commissioner election on 15th November.
Paul Weston was threatened with arrest for refusing to leave Wormwood Scrubs reception area without information about the whereabouts and safety of Tommy Robinson. Paul was briefly detained before being released. There is no charge against him.
The crackdown on the dissidents is a big mistake, but the timing isn’t, with winter coming soon the people who would be protesting will have a hard time holding convincing protests, especially it this is a wet winter.
Tommy is in “A” wing, where they keep the real scumbags, have posted him a letter with stamps and a poppy enclosed.
What did we expect? Of course the authorities are going to attack EDL/ Génération Identitaire. If they didn’t, that would mean that they think the EDL/ Génération Identitaire are harmless, and can be ignored.
The fact that EDL/ Génération Identitaire, as well as a group in Germany, have been rounded up and imprisoned, should be taken as a compliment.
The real question is how these groups, or at least their leaders react.
There is a tendency to assume that the ruling leadership is profoundly evil, when they oppose EDL/ Génération Identitaire. They are not. They are just being political. What they want is to determine what rules are going to hold.
The ball is now in the EDL/ Génération Identitaire camp. They can play tough by several means, each having an advantage. Or they could appease the authorities. This also has tactical advantages.
Whatever, this is not a time for being downhearted. Far from it.
dp arresting people because they are a political threat to you is the act of an evil government one that doesn’t believe in the rule of law.
Yes the next action is up to the dissident groups, they 1) need to hire the best lawyers they can find, 2) organize protests and letters to the editors protesting the arrests. It isn’t time for violent protests but rather civil disobedience protests, Gandhi’s tactics are the ones they want to use for the time being. I doubt any government that arrests political opponents will care about the protests but they have to try them.
