Institutional Incompetence from the Metropolitan Police

Gates of Vienna:

Controlled Zone: The EDL in Walthamstow

The following official complaint was filed yesterday with the IPCC, the body that fields complaints against the British police, by an EDL supporter who attended last Saturday’s truncated EDL demonstration in Walthamstow. The complainant was kettled along with the rest of the EDL for eight hours, handcuffed, “arrested”, and then released.

We need dozens (hundreds, even) more complaints like this one. If you were kettled at Blackhorse Road on Saturday like this gentleman, please consider filing a formal complaint.

I’m told that it’s also possible to sue the Metropolitan Police (pdf).

Dear sir/madam;

I wish to make a formal complaint against the Metropolitan Police in regard to their behaviour, policing style and methods, and general actions on September 1st, in particular regard to their ‘kettling’ operation at Blackhorse Road underground station, resulting in a clear breach of Article 5 of the Human Rights Act (HRA), and consisting of Unlawful Detention, amongst several other legal breaches.

  1. Unfortunetly sueing the police wont get them onside, the government needs pressure from all and make them know what shitlam is really like, get them off their fat wallets invite them to attend a demo stand at a safe distance and watch the procedings that way they can then tell the police to act AGAINST the filthy muzzies

  2. No it won’t get them onside, but it will make them more cautious about false arrest in the future.

  3. Obviously the police puppet master is in real control and is catering to the muzzies demands on how they get treated by the police so if the EDL attacks them with suits then they are going to get more defensive and really get heavy handed meanwhile the muzzies stand by happily smirking away.
Sooner or later the muzzies will show their true colours when the EDL stand quietly by and give the coppers no reason to arrest them.

  4. You are right Irish, but the victims of false arrest should use the courts to prevent further arrests, not standing up for your rights simply lets the bullies grow confident and if you wait too long you will discover you have lost another or possibly all of your rights. The EDL marches are about sticking up for their rights.

In the west the political masters are always in control of the police, we depend on the rule of law and our culture to prevent the political masters from misusing the police to oppress us. Unfortunately the left has managed to damage the rule of law (we don’t know yet if the damage is fatal) and we are fighting to re-establish it.

  5. The muzzies will attack the police first; they have done so on previous occasions where there were no EDL, just hordes of screaming islamo-nazis – there is a video. It is just a matter of time, the more the police and government appease these cockroaches the more they will demand!

  6. The police need to be threatened with constant lawsuits as this is the only way to deal with them. Not to back down, but to take the fight to them. They may not like it but that is all to the good. If no one says anything they will think we don’t care and are weak.

  7. The police are merely doing what the political authorities tell them to do.

Politicians know that Muslims will never compromise on anything – more likely they will start riots and set off bombs, while claiming victimisation, racism and islamophobia. The BBC will support them.

To uphold the peace, the authorities thus have no choice at the moment but to go after the EDL, and hope that they can intimidate the it with police tactics, demonisation in the media, and the courts.

The interesting thing is what happens if the EDL do not back down. There will then have to be a re-appraisal of strategy. This will become increasingly urgent as elections approach, and the public gets worried about the Islamic threat.

Therefore the EDL has to continue on the path it is on, while the British Freedom party takes every opportunity to highlight the Islamic threat, and show to the public, that the EDL is the only safety valve that is venting the pressure buildup in the country.

  9. The law suits are one of the tools to keep the pressure on the politicians, the more the EDL is mentioned in the news, and the more talk about false arrest suits the more pressure on the politicians.

No the police won’t like the suits, but those who believe in the rule of law will secretly support the suits.
