  1. The war on Christianity continues unabated, the left isn’t going to be content until the religious wars between Christians starts again. They are working hard at starting this war not realizing that they will be one of the first causalities. They have created the conditions that gave the Moslems the idea they could win if they went to war, and this wasn’t enough of a religious war for them, they won’t be content until either Christianity is driven underground or open warfare breaks out.

  2. I do like the historical and cultural aspects of the Judeo/Christian society, and dont want to see all the holidays renamed and pussified into some mushy, multi-culti compliant garbage. But people do loose site of the fact that our modern world didnt come about until religion was replaced with our modern secular government as the central authority. Hell, my ancestors up in Salem used to convict people as witches who didnt comply, so if anything, that shows the horrors that religion can sink to given absolute moral authority (Islam obviously being the most extreme example). Really our morals are both innate, as well as constructs that society agrees upon, which is reflected in the jewish and christian religions insofar as the basics (ie, dont steal, dont kill, etc.)

  3. The modern world came about before the concentration of power in the central government, back a few decades ago when Christianity wasn’t under attack we were freer then we are now. The people who want to take away our freedom lie when they say that we became a modern free society only after we left Christianity.

  4. This is the excellent foppery of the world, that when we are sick in fortune (often the surfeits of our own behaviour) we make guilty of our disasters the sun, the moon, and stars: as if we were villains on necessity; fools by heavenly compulsion; knaves, thieves, and treacherous by spherical predominance; drunkards, liars, and adulterers by an enforced obedience of planetary influence; and all that we are evil in, by a divine thrusting on. An admirable evasion of whoremaster man, to lay his goatish disposition on the charge of a star!

  5. Glorious and sublime music and art were created by men who were awestruck by the majesty of God. Not for money alone but in humble devotion. They created their works of art as homage to God and Jesus.

So it is with science. The greatest of the greatest of all scientists were devout Christians – Newton, Dalton, Maxwell, exploring the work of God in humility.
Our whole civilisation, whether the separation of church and state, modern democracy, abolition of slavery, universal education, stopping the murder of wounded soldiers (Red Cross), and much much more, are the works of faith – Christian faith.

Yet if I said to a Christian why Christians did not state this loudly – the reply would be that it is not their work, but the work of God, and their love for Jesus. Any attempt to claim these works for Christians would make them guilty of the worst sin – the sin of pride. It is what Jesus taught – do good, but do it quietly, and not for publicity or earthly approval.
