  1. This is very odd indeed since leftists and the extreme right embrace Islam.

    • And therein lies the problem—“Leftists and extreme right.” You have embraced the paradigm of TPTB. Us vs them, and you could either us or them, depending on circumstances.

      There is no political left/right reality. The question is ALWAYS freedom/truth v tyranny/deceit. It’s the way of the world, driven by the Fall and the consequent self-obsession of man as manifested in his lust, greed, envy, sloth . . .

      Islam, “the Left,” “Right wing extremism,” Republican, Democrat, Red, Blue . . . All designed to deceive and thereby divide. ALL are opposed to YOUR freedom, and unless YOU (by which I mean all people who seek freedom) understand this reality, nothing can be done to stop the rising tide of totalitarianism.

        Far right extremist is libertarian. Far left is tyranny-authoritarianism

        Far right is least possible state power and a reality based Socratic state.

        Far left is a Platonic/Marxist state based on narratives enforced with extreme prejudice by state agents and now technologies.

        The left right paradigm is indeed real. Its just deliberately wrongly defined for confusion.

  2. Because it is a huge mosque, chances are high they might have been bullied by followers of Islam. Media and officials put a blanket over Islamic ideology and the T-minority group. Keep the peace, at all costs.

    • Hmm. The high school is about a mile away, but there would be no reason to walk near the mosque because it is on a commerial road, by a feewway junction. I visited that mosque on an interfaith tour a dozen years ago. It is not huge!

      During the Q&A, I asked the imam about whether there are culutral humus-and-pita moslems, just as there lox-and-bagel Jews. He answered, “No. A Muslim keeps the five pillars of faith.” So much for the board there finding an outreach-oriented imam, but at least he was honest.

      He shared that the room filled with Arabic books was the largest library of Islamic books south of Irvine, meaning Los Angeles or so. I asked why there were no books in Farsi or English; he replied that anything worthwhile about Islam was written in Arabic.

      Someone else can check, but I recall that the Islamic Center recruited this affable leader from Algeria.

      Nothing justifies violence. Perhaps that should also be a job qualification the next time the board there hires an imam.
