Why Pat Buchanan Became The Grand Old Man of the “Christian Nationalism” Op Against America

(This is a very interesting and captivating read)

By way of preface, I note that I am in whole-hearted agreement with every policy prescription Pat Buchanan sets forth in his 2006 book State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America. I’m on board with the immigration moratorium, putting the kibosh on “amnesty” and building the border wall (he calls it a “fence”). I couldn’t agree more with ending provisions for “anchor babies,” “chain migration,” and dual-citizenship. I believe that removing what he describes as “magnets” of migration is essential. As a personal aside, after I dubbed these same lures “the honey pot,” I got a gig as a pundit for immigration-patriot Lou Dobbs on CNN, which ran smoothly until one night, a couple of weeks before the 2008 election, I tagged the Obama agenda “socialist” and got a figurative death sentence for apostasy from the network (more on the real thing below). Additionally, could anything be more essential, more vital, to re-setting, if I might use the freighted term, 21st-century-America as a European-descended Western nation than Buchanan’s call for “remigration”? I support that, too.

Never mind it’s all too late now; these were always the means by which Americans could have swiftly reasserted control of our borders and protected our people, and destiny. Alas, the Powers That Be had other plans for us, which placed these simple measures always out of reach behind a force-field of “racism,” or “nativism” — force fields that best-selling, widely syndicated, network/cable-fixture Pat Buchanan could always overcome in terms of functioning as a rare, right-wing media celebrity. In a funny way, it seems, looking back, Pat Buchanan could really do no “wrong,” whether defending US sovereignty against one-world-government, arguing “fair trade” not “free trade,” even standing up for the Confederate flag — all of which I happen also to agree with.

Buchanan could also crudely, harshly castigate Israel — and, particularly, Israel’s conservative party (Likud) leaders — and Jews in America as the main instigators, if not also the causus belli of “quagmires” and world wars always just on the brink of erupting in the Middle East. And when I say “could,” I mean without suffering the professional repercussions to be suffered over, say, discussing IQ differences among races, or, as noted above, even making the case on CNN in 2008 that Obama was a socialist. In the post-Oct 7 world, it is this, I submit, that gives him a certain currency on what you might call the post-Oct 7 (Qatar-influenced) Right.

3. Important new dialectic launched by the left and islam. The “Anti-Palestinian Racism” mass line narrative. Get ready for it. If it was a grenade, I would shout “INCOMING!” But as the media rolls it out you will all likely hear that in your heads by now.

The “Anti-Palestinian Racism” Trap: How a New Definition Turns Jews Into Racists by Default

The Arab Canadian Lawyers Association wants to redefine racism in a way that makes supporting Israel’s existence a hate crime. Their proposed “Anti-Palestinian Racism” (APR) framework isn’t about protecting anyone, it’s a dialectical trap that flips reason upside down, casts Jews as the oppressors, and demands you accept “from the river to the sea” as sacred truth. If you question the narrative, you’re the bigot. This isn’t advocacy, it’s ideological warfare dressed as human rights.

The Hub laid it bare the ACLA is lobbying Ottawa to bake this into federal anti-racism policy. They’ve already got the ear of the Special Representative on Islamophobia, and universities are quietly adopting it into codes of conduct.

The result? A Canadian Jew who says “Israel has a right to exist” can be labeled racist, while “river to the sea” chants get a free pass.

That’s not equity, that’s erasure.

And it’s not happening in a vacuum. Three pieces of legislation are converging right now to supercharge the threat.

First, Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act, introduced in September 2025. It drops the need for Attorney General consent to prosecute hate speech, adds life sentences for hate-motivated obstruction of community spaces, and bans hate symbols. Sounds good, until you realize APR could define a Star of David at a campus talk as “obstruction.” I say could, I don’t doubt that is the intention. Jewish events become prosecutable, pro-Palestinian mobs get a shield.

Second, the renewed Canada’s Anti-Racism Strategy (2024-2028), now with $110.4 million in Budget 2025. It nods to the IHRA definition of antisemitism, but the fine print opens the door to “intersectional” add-ons like APR (Anti-Palestinian Racism). Groups like CJPME and Independent Jewish Voices Canada are pushing to make both definitions mandatory. Translation: Zionism becomes racism by federal fiat, and your grant money dries up if you won’t say it.

Third, Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, already moving fast. Platforms must delete “harmful content” in 24 hours or face fines. Guess what counts as harmful once APR is in the glossary? A tweet saying “Israel isn’t going anywhere.” Meanwhile, veiled calls for “Jew hunts” stay up because intent is “political.”

Many readers sent me this 60 Minutes segment on the German internet speech police, and I’ve watched it about ten times now. I’m not exaggerating. It’s just remarkable to see a central theme of the plague chronicle appearing on an American news programme, and also (once again) slightly embarrassing – like having one’s regrettable family affairs aired in public. The Federal Republic really is an open-air insane asylum, competing for the top spot in a Europe full of similarly crazy countries.

I find it hard to exaggerate how oppressive and petty the speech police have become. I’ve covered the case of Stefan Niehoff, a 64 year-old retiree who had his house raided for the crime of tweeting a meme that called Green Economics Minister Robert Habeck a “professional moron.” I wrote about Doris van Geul, a 74 year-old woman who was convicted (among other things) for suggesting that some migrants might be “loafers and freeloaders.” Her pension is so meagre and her fines so high that she’ll probably be paying them off for the rest of her life. Tweeting the poop emoji at cabinet ministers, quoting politicians inexactly, calling Green politicians fat and stupid – all of this can lead to ruinous fines in the Federal Republic. Repeat offenders can even face prison time, all for saying impolite things to powerful people.

Since 2021, Germany has a lèse-majesté prohibition on the books, which enhances the penalties for defaming, insulting or maliciously gossiping about “persons in political life.” A whole malign industry has sprouted up around this vile statute. Firms with zoomer names like “So Done” file speech crime charges on behalf of defamed, insulted and maliciously gossiped-about politicians, and the “victims” agree to share half of any awarded damages with these self-appointed censors. It is like a free-market Stasi, it really sucks, and thanks to 60 Minutes, Americans get to hear about all of this lunacy over popcorn in their living rooms.
