I live in Perth, Ontario where the murder happened. Till yesterday when I saw Randy Hillier’s video I didn’t know of the trans connection. People weren’t talking about that part of it though in my circle we knew it was a brutal murder, who the victim was and the age of the accused killer.
Nothing related to trans ideology was in the Perth Community FB group (appropriate shock and sadness was but not the context) so I made up a post. The group is moderated and my post must have been immoderate as it disappeared before appearing.
So the community sleeps around what I think are important issues for the community and won’t allow it on FB at least. I messaged a local councillor I know and he hasn’t responded.

I hadn’t realized the strong connection to “rainbow ideology” in Reese’s death until just now reading about it in a post on former local MP Randy Hillier’s Substack.
I appreciate the help offered people who have been profoundly affected by this tragedy. Everyone of us is affected. Perth is affected.
I don’t have the answer but the silence around the circumstances is not what’s needed. Polite silence makes it harder to be present to ourselves as citizens and to be part of a community grappling with difficulty. Randy Hillier’s post and video is a start in addressing it.
