Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    A police officer has been suspended from all duties following a “thorough review of further information” after a video emerged showing a man being kicked and stamped on as he lay on the floor at Manchester Airport, Greater Manchester Police said.
    The man, who appears to have been tasered, lies on the ground as the officer takes aim at him, and then kneels on his back during the incident at Terminal 2.

    Another man is also restrained forcibly while sitting on a nearby chair, as bystanders film in astonishment.
    The two men, who are brothers, broke their silence on X after footage of the incident went viral on social social.
    Their apparent lawyer said they were heading to Rochdale Police Station to make a formal complaint of assault and wounding against the officers who assaulted the pair and their elderly mother.
    Yesterday, demonstrators gathered outside Rochdale Police Station and were heard shouting “GMP shame on you” after the footage sparked outrage.
    Police said that the incident took place after their officers had been subject to a serious assault, with one female officer suffering a broken nose.

    Joe Gamaldi, the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police and an active Houston Police Department lieutenant, presented a chilling image of what will happen to the safety of Americans if Kamala Harris is elected president.

    Gamaldi told Fox News, “Let’s be clear about something: If Kamala Harris becomes the next president of the United States, she will be an unmitigated disaster for public safety in this country.”

    “She has loudly and proudly supported bail reform and has even donated and encouraged other people to donate to a fund that helped get murderers, rapists, people who were shooting people in the streets, out on bail,” he said.

    “We’re not talking about helping bail out the mom who stole a candy bar from the store to help feed her kids; we’re talking about violent criminals.”

    Joseph Imperatrice, an NYPD detective and founder of Blue Lives Matter NYC, underscored Gamaldi’s concerns.

    “America needs a leader that’s going to keep bad guys behind bars, and unfortunately, Kamala Harris hasn’t done that,” he said. “It was proven during the riots by intentionally bailing out the bad guys.”

    “This isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue, this is a humanitarian issue,” Imperatrice said. “This is an accountability issue.”

    During her tenure as Attorney General of California, Kamala Harris kept hundreds of black men in prison past their release date so she could use these men for $2 a day for cheap California state labor.

    Harris also promoted the Minnesota Bail Fund after the George Floyd riots in 2020, which is responsible for bailing out murderers and rapists.

    At least two of the murderers that Kamala Harris helped bail out of prison went on to murder again.

    ‘Expert’ Advice on Gun Defense May Get People Killed

    When confronted with an immediate threat, are legal repercussions and costs what should be occupying your mind at the moment?

    “If you go to guns you failed,” Steve Tarani writes in American Handgunner. That “means that you failed multiple opportunities to take preventive measures in ensuring your personal security and that of those who you are responsible to protect.”

    The guy has an impressive CV. He’s a subject matter expert, an educator, and an author “specializing in awareness-based training” with decades of experience in both public (CIA, DOE, National Security Institute) and private (Gunsite Academy, Sig Arms Academy) sectors. So, at the risk of ignorantly challenging the professor in a class I have no business even attending without passing some advanced prerequisites, I’m going to call BS on the example he uses to illustrate his point.
    I won’t argue with the reality that going to the guns should be a last resort and that situational awareness can prevent encounters from occurring in the first place. Those are self-evident truths that go hand-in-hand with avoiding sketchy people, areas, and situations when we can.
    But sometimes, the best-laid plans don’t work out, and we find ourselves in a fight-or-flight situation—or, as Tarani recounts, fight or surrender.

    He tells the story of one of his students who was mugged, admitting, “it was a situation that warranted firearm response and it would have been a justifiable shoot.” Instead, the student didn’t act and instead mulled over the legal and financial ramifications of doing so:

    “He therefore reluctantly kept his readily accessible weapon in his holster and handed over his wallet. Luckily, his phone wasn’t on his person at that time and he later cancelled any cards after the perp vacated the area getting away with about $100 for his troubles. Looking back on the situation he said it was the best decision of his life.”

    How fortunate for him that he still has a life he’s able to look back on. Because it wasn’t the wallet the perp was threatening, it was the robbery victim’s life. And while that priceless life was being threatened, he was worrying about liability and calculating attorney fees…?
    As we’ve seen before, just giving predators what they want is no guarantee that a violent, sociopathic moron twisted enough to threaten strangers over chump change can be counted on to respond rationally. Consider these headlines:

    Consider the “Wendy’s Massacre,” where the robbers “took the seven employees into the restaurant’s freezer, bound and gagged them at gunpoint, put plastic bags over their heads, and then shot each of them in the head.”

    We could do this all day.
    Just give them what they want? What if, after you bare your throat and cede all decision-making to remorseless reptiles, you find out what they want is you?

    It’s a little late to act at that point.

    Sorry, Mr. Tarani, I’m not trying to start a public fight with you, I’m just saying too many real-life reports don’t have such happy endings, and when confronted with an immediate existential threat, internal second guessing and hesitation only work to an attacker’s advantage.

    Face it. Your guy got lucky.
    Most defensive gun uses end without a shot being fired– that’s the choice he could have made once he had determined that he’d stopped the threat. Instead, he left all choices to his attacker.

    Admitting there’s no one size fits all approach, and each situation is different, I hope if ever confronted with such physical intimidation I have the presence of mind to respond less like your student and more like Sonia Sotomayor’s security guys. As for the legal liabilities, the $150,000 in attorney fees, and other considerations you cite, at least I may be around to pay them — true, I may not, but I can count on my judgment and experience to guide my choices and actions more than on the “mercy” of some desperate and evil piece of human excrement who forces them on me with the threat of death.
    Like the saying goes, I’d rather be judged by 12 than carried by six. And like the poem advocates, “Do not go gentle into that good night.”

    • Situational awareness AND go with your GUT. BEFORE you pull that gun. Is the thug threatening you with a weapon? Pay attention to his body language.

      Don’t count on the justice system. A rotten DA might offer you a ghastly plea bargain. Judge and jury don’t ensure justice. You can spend $150,000 on attorneys and still do time. Prisons are deadly places. A felony conviction will change your life.

  9. Lack of Violence at RNC Quite Telling

    The Republican National Convention has come and gone, and all without significant incident. There was one arrest made–an individual carrying an AK pistol without a permit–but nothing really troubling. There was no violence at all.

    It kicked off just days after an attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump, too, which many in the media latched onto in order to decry the lack of gun laws surrounding the convention.

    Yet, there’s an important point that must be remembered. There was no violence.

    And the fact that there wasn’t any violence is kind of telling.

    At the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, former President Trump has been nominated to be elected president again. Senator J.D. Vance has been selected as the Vice President candidate. No one was shot or injured at the convention. There was heightened security because of the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump.
    Far-left Democrats, such as Milwaukee Alderman Bauman, wanted someone, anyone, to ban the possession of firearms near the convention but outside the security perimeter. The City of Milwaukee did not have the power to do it. The Secret Service did not have the power to do it. They could not revoke everyone’s rights, protected by the Second Amendment, because of the Second Amendment, Wisconsin’s similar protection, Section 25, and Wisconsin state law, which prohibits local governments from infringing on the right to be armed.     Due to Wisconsin state law, people will be allowed to openly carry guns and can conceal-carry with a permit inside the so-called “soft perimeter,” which surrounds the Secret Service patrolled inner “hard perimeter.” City officials tell ABC News they are frustrated following Saturday’s developments but don’t expect a change.

    Only, nothing happened. Nothing at all.

    There was, as noted, one arrest for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit–a misdemeanor–but there are also no indications that the individual in question intended to do anything violent. The presence of a gun is indication enough for hoplophobes, but that doesn’t make it so.

    So why was there no violence if guns were so unrestricted?

    Could it be that the lack of restriction meant that those inclined to be violent figured it was best to stay home?

    See, one thing I’ve noticed about violent people is that they’re often cowards. They’re more than willing to get violent, but they’re counting on others to be either compliant or so caught off guard that they don’t fight back. They’re counting on people being, basically, sheep.

    Those who might have been interested in being violent at the RNC likely decided it was just too risky because Republicans are more likely to be armed than Democrats. They figured that if they went there looking for sheep, they might find rams among those sheep and they wouldn’t like the outcome of that confrontation.

    Gun control doesn’t make anyone safer. It just creates a more target-rich environment for violent, dangerous people who prefer not to have to work that hard when confronting their prey.

    The lack of those laws outside of the Secret Service perimeter made everyone safer.

    It’s only the truly and willfully blind no cannot see that.

  13. ‘Sympathy to deep admiration’: Palestinians tell US comedian they love Hamas – interview

    Most Palestinians that Jewish American comedian Zach Fox spoke to in Ramallah expressed unwavering support for Hamas, antisemitic views, and an antipathy towards a two-state solution, he told the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

    “I didn’t meet one person who didn’t love Hamas….All of them hated Jews with every bone of their body.” Fox, accompanied by a translator, producer and cameraman, did not reveal his Jewish identity.

    Fox queried whether they saw the videos posted by Hamas on Oct. 7. “Everything,” declared one woman. “And you are okay with everything they did?” “With everything they did,” she confirmed.

    When asked whether they felt that Hamas should release the remaining Israeli hostages, there was a resounding “no” from all the Palestinians.

    He was interviewing a girl, and a Palestinian man came over and started shouting in Arabic. Fox’s Arabic-speaking colleagues told him the man was upset that the girl was being interviewed, believing it to be immodest. The man then called over more men.

    “All of a sudden, he comes up and says we have to delete the rest of our footage….My cameraman said, ‘I’m very scared, they are threatening to kill us if we don’t delete this’…”
