Online Harms bill, and how many Covid injections does it take to stop the flu? Links 1 for March 6, 2024

1. Clyde Do something video on Trudeau’s Orwellian “online harms bill”

(One might track the difference between what Trudeau calls a bill and what the bill actually does to predict future legislation. For example, The “Anti-conversion-therapy” bill was actually a law that makes it a criminal offence for parents to talk children out of having their reproductive organs cut off or scooped out after an agent of the state talked them into it. Just as one example)

CTV is giddy with excitement over the ideas of “fines and punishment” for those not in compliance. What, the question might be asked, should there be fines and punishment for doing online for which there is not already fined and punishment for doing, on or off line? Here is where Scott Adams is under-informed on this. Frankly so are most Canadian under 50. Scott Adams says: “…where the government can put you under house arrest; or make you wear an ankle bracelet if someone else believes that you might in the future write something hateful online”. Scott doesn’t believe it. I don’t blame him. But for those of us with a memory of Canadian legislation, let’s flash back to a previous Liberal party leader, Jean Chretien. Chretien’s government created a bill which was defeated in the senate, which would grant police powers to enter and search a private residence without warrant on the mere suspicion of a gun part or piece of ammunition.

From the minutes of the debate:

Mrs. Venne: My second question concerns searches. Clause 99 of the bill would authorize police officers to enter any premises where there could be firearms. They could make inspections if they think there might be firearms, or prohibited or restricted weapons.

However, clause 101 of the same bill provides that if a police officer wants to inspect a dwelling-house, he or she must have the consent of the occupant or a warrant. Section 107(2) of the Criminal Code, as modified, would provide that one cannot search a dwelling-house without a warrant.

How can you explain that members of your own caucus, Mr. Minister – who are here and who certainly recognize themselves, for example, Mr. Lee – say that the bill opens the door to abuse of police authority, in other words, that from now on, police officers will be able to enter and search premises without a warrant? I would like to know what you think about that, because this is a widespread rumour.

A minister of justice under Chretien, in this case Allan Rock (who went on to become president of Ottawa University, and under his watch, it came under the control of the communist-Muslim Brotherhood), attempted to make it like US red flag laws. Anyone who didn’t like you could accuse you of having a part of a gun or single bullet and the police could raid your home. The left in Canada and the US have taken advantage of current laws similar to this and caused a phenomenon called, “Swatting”. A false accusation that leads to a federal police force raiding your home in full view of the media and neighbours. Nothing communist or National Socialist about that at all.

So Scott needs to understand there IS precedent for this, and it already exists for guns (red flag laws) in the USA.

2. Anti-Israel protestors show up to interfere with a Liberal Party Fundraiser $750.00 a plate dinner in Toronto.

Many people try to come up with a nickname for the Petit Dauphin, Justin Trudeau. Just at the moment, I like Captain Jean Luc Petard. Since he is being hosted on his own.

3. For the first time, a. multicultural celebration will mean that the locals can go discover what they can’t do instead of celebrating what others do. On Chinese New year, you can discover lots of new treats and foods and parades, and during Octoberfest, German culture, with a healthy measure of beer and sausage. On Ramadan you can enjoy not drinking, skipping lunch, hating on infidels and planing world domination. For those that feel this looks like a good time, head over to London or Frankfurt this Ramadan. From RAIR Foundation:

[…]

Taking inspiration from Islamized London’s precedent, which introduced Ramadan lighting near the iconic Piccadilly Circus in 2023, Frankfurt aims to emulate this homage to Muslims. The scale of the lights in Frankfurt is comparable to those in London, as touted by officials from Germany’s left-wing Green Party, the proponents of the controversial motion. This motion, which the Christian Democratic Union of Germany denied last year, sought to decorate the city. It seems Muslims and their left-wing enablers in both Frankfurt and London are essentially competing to showcase which city has Islamized the most rapidly and extensively.

4. Biological male player leads Vermont girls’ high school basketball team to championships

A Vermont girls’ basketball team is heading to the state’s finals, coming into their final game of the season with an overall win streak of 21-1—but those victories were made with the help of a biological male athlete. They go into the final game with a 10-win streak.

Long Trail’s varsity girls’ team won in Monday evening’s division four game against Williamstown with a score of 43-40. The team will now head to their first state championship game in the school’s history, according to the Bennington Banner.

The local outlet noted that the team had to play much of the second half of the game “without starting center Rose Johnson,” a transgender athlete “who battled foul trouble all game long.”

“Johnson was an intimidating presence on defense when she was on the floor, swatting away shots almost every time a Blue Devil made it into the paint.”

(When the goal is destruction, then almost anything is a win that is a loss for even abstract things. Like fairness and sports.)

5. Fascinating rebranding of Hamas by a senior UN official

Thank you all for your kind attention.

Some of you might have seen the highly sensationalized case of a Germophobe German man who got over 200 mRNA shots. I guess he didn’t like his blood or something. Anyway a few words about that here.
