Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  1. GOING to BED, but before I must say this: I have cancer.

    And since I’ve known, I’ve been treating myself with twice-daily liquid Ivermectin and recently added Fenben (3 days on, 4 days off).

    Unbelievable the difference after almost three weeks!

    From removing my bra after 7 hours, out of severe pain, to still wearing it without pain after 16 hours yesterday/today.

    From some 20 Kleenex/day to only two/three a day. And my physical agility is back and so much more.

    How do I explain that to the ‘Woke?’ oncologist? – Her photo tells the story and so does her secretary. The oncologist seems unyielding in that I have to travel return-trip six hours for a 30-minute conversation that can be held on the phone as a consultation.

    I keep a daily log of my meds. I don’t know what to do. And most probably, one day, it will be your turn.

    OUR SYSTEM SUCKS. Me, I’m holding onto my line. I will not cede.

    • I’ve gone looking for what you’re cooking, Sassy, and your homework looks promising. Ivermectin and fenben shows good results. Here’s just one little vid I found, but you no doubt know much more:

      • So much appreciated, all of you. I spent some ten days doing intensive research.

        One immediate result of the Ivermectin was my tongue problem. It was covered with a greyish/white fuzz and no amount of tongue cleaning would satisfactorily remove all of it. The morning after my first day of Ivermectin doses, lo and behold, my tongue was clear, and it has remained nice and clean ever since.

        For now, my main problem is getting an appointment with an oncologist for treatment (surgery and radiation). An afternoon appointment is to be avoided because of driving for three hours surrounded by heavy traffic and strong headlights as darkness falls on my return trip back home.

        • That is terrible news, I am so sorry Sassy. I will pray for your healing.

          This is what I found out about cancer. It can only grow and survive in an acidic body. Our bodies are meant to be on the alkaline side. Our diets, and what we ingest determines this. Our body can snuff out the cancer if we provide it with the right conditions. Just to be clear, I am not saying I have the cure for cancer, its our bodies that do, our body can take care of it. Medications, alcohol, drugs, coffee and tea -other than herbal tea, animal products, these all contribute to acidic body. The most acidic thing humans eat, and it is off the charts for acidity, is cheese. It should not be considered food. All the different oils that are used that are processed using heat are cancer causing. So what to eat if have a cancer diagnosis, I found out is raw vegetables. The more raw vegetables, the more nutrient dense your food will be. The closer to your home they are grown, the more nutrient dense they will be also. Reason being is that they are ripening on the plant longer, getting more nutrients from the plant. I think it is the green vegetables that are the best for this. Soy Bean has the most potent cancer fighting thing in it called phytoestrogen.

          If the cancer is very advanced, there isn’t time to allow the diet and body to get the job done, still do the diet along with the medical treatment, is what the research I have seen says.

          Fresh air is a must for health, if you can get out of the city if you live in one, get fresh air in you everyday, as much as you can.

          Sunlight is a healer, again, get lots. Just don’t get sunburnt. Just stay in the shade during the suns strongest part of the day. Being outside in the shade, you still are getting sunlight. There are many different types of light coming off the sun, some reflect off all the green vegetation. So sitting in the shade in a nature setting, sun is reflecting on you from all directions. Other light from it penetrates 6″ or more into the body. Goes through our skulls and clothes. Windows block some of the rays, so its poor sunlight, but better than nothing. Open all your blinds, let the sun in all the rooms of your house. It will purify the air, make your home more healthy. Don’t occupy a room that does not get sunlight, the air will be bad.

          Exercise, what ever your comfortable with. It will get the blood flowing. Just walking is great. I think if you can get a sweat on each day, that’s a way the body gets ride of toxins.

          Clean water is a must. Hopefully you have access to well water. I don’t think city water with all the chemicals they add to it can be good for us. Well water will have minerals in it that body can use. Bottled water does not have any minerals or anything left in it, I don’t think its of any use.

          • Maplewood: After reading you this morning, I didn’t refill my coffee cup. I’m an avid morning coffee drinker, at least eight cups. Over and finished, I’ll stick to three. It’s being replaced with green tea.

            Also, I had raw veggies for lunch dipped in hummus and yogurt. So, I’m heading toward the veggie diet.

            • That is great news Sassy. Praise God. Yes its a process, I have lived it. A well balanced whole food – plant based diet is a key to health and restoring health. You are very welcome.

              My understanding is that green tea is as bad or worse than coffee, black tea even worse than both. Caffeine in both, among other things. Caffeine being a toxic-nerve poison, carcinogens promoter, mutagenic, enzyme suppressant, among other things. 500g of tea has enough caffeine to kill 1000 mice, and caffeine destroys Vit D. De-Caf has the chemical in it that removes caffeine, so its just as bad also.

      Maybe a group practice that combines western and eastern systems. In Massachusetts insurance will cover accredited complimentary and alternative practices. They work in teams that coordinate with each other.

    • There is an article today in Epoch Times about aspirin reducing the mortality rate by 21%

      Recent study indicates cancer patients who take a low-dose (75 -81 milligrams) daily experience a 21% reduction in mortality and there is evidence of aspirin’s role in preventing cancer metastasis and minimizes vascular complications. Aspirin can inhibit platelet aggregation thereby reducing spread.

    I have managed to source ivermectin once for me and my family, the second shipment was stopped by customs. Even though you have a source, if you need more let us know and maybe we can somehow help. Anyway, it’s great news that it provides relief!

  4. Yesterday while driving with my teenaged daughter the Radio Man told us the safest cities in Dystopia according to the latest stats. Toronto, Quebec City, and Ottawa in that order. We were immediately skeptical. Everyone knows, she responded, that people are afraid to ride Toronto public transit because of the crime. With over 6-million inhabitants in Toronto, we quickly speculated the data was cooked by the real crime rate’s dilution with this huge number. But why?

    Dear Pleader will no doubt cite these statistics as proof that his Century Initiative is not responsible for the unequivocally-higher crime here. Multiculturalism works, see? Islam integrates, see? Right. As I said to my daughter, statistics can lie to you, see?

      • Ottawa public transit is extremely dangerous, especially for teens.

        15 years ago – yes, this is not new…. a ten riding the public transit bus through CenterPoint, an upper middle class neighborhood with a reputation for safety, was strangled to death by his iPhone headphones cord for his electronics. And about 10 or so years ago, a mom called the public transit administration about her teen being robbed. When she described the exact location and bus line number, the transit person asked her if she is referring to the 5 o’clock or the 7 o’clock robbery.

        Since then, the reporting stopped, but not the violence, as I have some first person accounts from last spring…

        So, all we can tell is that city of Ottawa is better at quashing news reporting.

        And let us not forget that rocket launcher or similar that was found in the trunk of a car driving the streets. We only heard about it because the evidence was thrown out during the trial due to gross malfeasance by the Ottawa police officers, both of whose stories were so bad they even contradicted each other…

        The point is, there are some serious weapons moving around Ottawa…

  7. Lesson of the Strike that Killed Soleimani

    Four years ago this week, at the direction of the president, forces under my command struck and killed Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad. He was arriving there to coordinate attacks on our embassy and coalition targets across the region. It takes will and capability to establish and maintain deterrence. The Iranians have always feared our capabilities, but before January 2020, they doubted our will.

    Regrettably, the U.S. hasn’t remembered the importance of matching demonstrable will with our capabilities. Even before Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack, Iranian forces were launching missile and drone strikes on our bases across the region, acting through proxies that gave them a measure of deniability. Our response has consistently been tentative, overly signaled and unfocused.

    Iranian leaders work with Lenin’s dictum that “you probe with bayonets: if you find mush, you push. If you find steel, you withdraw.” Tehran and its proxies are pressing their attacks because they haven’t confronted steel. The ability to stop such probing generally depends on a swift and violent counterattack. Delaying and equivocating usually means the response needed to re-establish deterrence has to be much larger than it would have been if it had been applied in a timely manner.

    Protecting free passage through such global choke points as the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is more important than avoiding escalation. Taking strong action against the Houthis isn’t likely to lead to theaterwide escalation. Unfortunately, it is the U.S. that is being deterred, not Iran and its proxies.

  8. Exclusive – Three Things That Can be Done to Break the Chinese Directed Disruption of World Merchant Shipping

    Not much attention is being paid to the relentless attacks on merchant shipping rounding the Gulf of Aden and entering into the Red Sea for transit of the Suez Canal and following the same route in the opposite direction. This is being done by three major groups: Iran, the Houthi elements of Yemen, and now, apparently, the Somalis. Iran is the regional proxy for China, and recent comments by a Chinese National Defense University Professor said the quiet part out loud when he remarked how the Houthis were doing China a “favor” by stopping world trade. This has become the largest assault on ocean shipping since the German U-Boat campaign in the North Atlantic during the earlier phases of World War II. Between Chinese Fentanyl across the Southern Border and this assault on world shipping, World War III is well underway. The first attack occurred on November 19, 2023, when the M/V Galaxy Leader was seized with its crew and is still being held. The 20th attack was carried on January 4, 2024, when an unidentified ship was boarded and seized 460 nautical miles east of Somalia – deep into the Indian Ocean.

    World trade depends on access through the Red Sea to and from the Suez Canal, 15% of all world merchant traffic passes through this vital chokepoint. Relatively little American commerce uses the Suez, but Europe is far more dependent upon this route. The challenge is that when this route is blocked, it begins to eat into American routes and needs and is already having an impact on world supply chains. The Americans have announced Operation Prosperity Garden, which has commenced but is struggling, with a number of key nations not participating and several other announced participants taking care of their own ships first. Despite this operation, the Houthis continue to attack, demonstrating that the U.S. Navy is not quite as feared as it used to be. There are several things that can be done relatively quickly to regain the initiative and clear the seas. Of course, it’s not in the DNA of the Biden Team to do the right thing when the key tenet is “proportionality”, which is a part of the International Laws of Warfare but should not be considered a religion in which the U.S. is groveling and subservient to those who want to hurt Americans and others which is how the Obama-Biden team treat this principle.

    Secure the Bab al-Mandab Strait

    The choke point within the choke point of this transit to and from the Suez is the narrow opening of the Red Sea at an approximate ten-mile-wide point between the tip of Yemen and the small African country of Djibouti. Many of the attacks have occurred close to this point. The reports from Central Command (CENTCOM) have been interesting and describe cruise missiles, drones, and also “anti-ship ballistic missiles.” This last reference is confusing – supposedly, the Chinese have the DF-21 and DF-26 Ballistic missiles with maneuvering re-entry vehicles that can engage a moving target – a capability the U.S. does not have. The Iranians have the Fateh-110 tactical battlefield rocket, but I have a problem with the term “ballistic missile” when referring to the Iranian Fateh-110 if that’s what CENTCOM means. I would not dignify the Fateh-110 with the term “ballistic missile.” This tactical battlefield, likely sub-orbital, rocket may have a maneuvering warhead, but battlefield estes rockets do not a ballistic missile make. Proper terms and classifications matter. I’ve asked CENTCOM to please clarify – no response yet.

    The reality is that with this narrow gap of the Bab al-Mandab, the Houthis, with proper intelligence on track, speed, and direction of merchant vessels can lob enough ordnance into this gap and eventually hit something. The American Navy has the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) with the 26th MEU (SOC) (Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable)) close by. The Bab al-Mandab starts from a small, very sparsely inhabited island called Mayyun off of the Murad Peninsula. Supported by the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, the Marine 26th MEU (SOC) should be able to land and create a firebase with the highly effective HIMARS launchers to rain fire on the Houthis deep into mainland Yemen. Re-taking this island would expose the Houthis to the thunder of Navy MH-60 helicopters acting like modern flying PT boats, as three Houthi speed boats just found out. Mayyun should provide a strategic vantage point to deter further Houthi actions.

    Make a clear and demonstrative teaching point to the Houthis and Iran

    One puzzling issue that is going on is that mired in the religion of “proportionality”, the Biden Obama Team appears to be allowing at least two Iranian spy vessels to wander around the zone of conflict. It is highly likely that these Iranian ships are providing that intelligence described above. Well, if the Wall Street Journal can figure this out, it is incredulous that the Biden Team does not understand their role and would allow the Iranians to conduct these forward observer activities to properly direct fire into the Bab al-Mandab gap and the Red Sea.

    If the Biden Team is serious about stability, peace, and the rule of law they would carry out a distinctive life lesson. Central Command should warn the Iranian vessels to leave and then vaporize them the nanosecond any intelligence related signals were transmitted by the Iranians. Allowing the Iranians to operate with impunity in the middle of this Houthi/Iran/China created conflict, disrupting world trade is baffling but consistent with the Biden Administration’s obsession with “proportionality” and giving deference and cash to Iran. The translation of Team Biden’s behavior: Biden is willing to risk American and Allied Sailors rather than doing the right thing and chasing out the Iranians.

    Communicate clarity and resolve through words and action from the White House

    Of course, clarity and resolve are not in the DNA of Team Biden/Blinken/Austin/and Sullivan, but the best advice I give regardless of who’s in the seat. The national command authority must be clear and mean what they say when staring down the Chinese-led coalition. A red line must be drawn, and as President Trump would say, the cost must be imposed for failure to adhere to the red line. There’s a short-term aspect to this to address the immediate tactical situation to regain control of the sea lanes, but there’s a near-term and longer-term element to spin up the U.S. Defense Industrial Base to rapidly expand the U.S. Navy and Air Force to re-establish feared, credible deterrence. The more we spin up now, the less likely larger conflict with China or forever wars will occur. That is exactly what Trump advocates.

    Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro is doing a very Trumpian job of trying to whip up the entire shipbuilding industrial base into shape – he is showing energy and vision on this matter that I have not seen since the Reagan days. I’m not implying he should be held over into the second term of the Trump Administration, but I’m going to give him credit for his leadership. He seems to be one of the few who also relatively avoids DEI lecturing and advocacy. At least Del Torro may warm up this anemic and woefully decrepit sector of the defense industrial base into some foreword movement in time for America First leadership in the fall.

    Shrinking Army Special Operations Is a Bad Idea for Deterring China

    The most baffling Department of Defense military force structure decision of 2023 is the Army’s decision to single out the Army Special Operations community for downsizing.
    Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth has announced a 3,000-position cut to Special Operations in a “redesign” of the Army Special Operations community. Chris Maier, assistant secretary of defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict (ASD SOLIC), and Ms. Wormuth have begun to artfully parse this cut as not affecting the Green Berets but focusing on “enabler” elements without further clarification.
    Critical Role of ARSOC in Building Partner Capacity in Taiwan

    ARSOC makes up more than half of the total structure of the entire U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), so decrementing ARSOC hinders the entire SOCOM mission. One of the key SOCOM and ARSOC missions is what’s known as foreign internal defense (FID), which is building the capacity of key partners to defend themselves.

    One of the critical actions directed in the 2023 and 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is Section 1309, which establishes training, advising, and institutional capacity building for Taiwan’s military. This section mandates a large-scale training program for Taiwan, where FID is a core element.

    And which part of the Army force structure specializes and focuses on FID?

    ARSOC, which makes the targeted cut of ARSOC puzzling.
    Not well advertised has been a longstanding effort by the Special Operations community to better organize, train, and equip Taiwanese regular and reserve forces to respond to Chinese gray zone activities before or during a potential invasion by China. This effort is the spearhead of Indo-Pacific Command efforts to build deterrence capacity to discourage communist China from considering a move to open warfare in the Western Pacific.
    The proposed cut in ARSOC belies a disconnect between the NDAA and the announced actions of the secretary of the Army and ASD SOLIC. Significant bureaucratic disconnects do happen in the largest bureaucracy in the world, which is where Congress, in its oversight role, needs to identify and act upon such non-sequiturs. Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) has taken vocal leadership to address the proposed Army actions.
    Strategic Reconnaissance Delivers Significant Value for Indo-Pacific Command

    Another critical mission for ARSOC in support of Indo-Pacific Command is strategic reconnaissance. This is the mission in which ARSOC elements are the indispensable “eyes and ears” of the theater commander, Adm. John Aquilino.
    The ARSOC units and elements provide significant capacities and capabilities to Special Operations Command Pacific. The ARSOC elements would give advance warning of any Chinese moves on Taiwan and North Korean moves toward South Korea. In addition, there are special situations, such as Chinese adventurism in the Solomon Islands.
    The ARSOC units would be essential in identifying what the Chinese are really up to, especially when Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare is openly embracing Beijing and is hostile toward non-Chinese elements. The Solomon Islands represent an interesting scenario in which much of the population is pro-Western, which may enable Western special operators to try to determine the scope and intent of the Chinese Communist Party’s malign activities in the Solomon Islands.
    The Western Pacific isn’t the only place where ARSOC will play a crucial role. With the developing possibility of Venezuelan aggression toward Guyana, ARSOC, with the 7th Special Forces Group and the associated enablers, make unconventional warfare capabilities a key deterrent to Venezuela and growing Chinese civil-military fusion operations in the Americas.
    The special operators of ARSOC play an irreplaceable role in FID, strategic reconnaissance, and the all-important “SOF Truth #1.” People are more important than hardware. In other words, the most important job for the U.S. Special Operations Forces is to build enduring personal relationships with host countries, which is irreplaceable in the struggle to shape host country decision-making on whether to align with China or the American-led world. This is a key tenet to victory, and within the total Army, this expertise resides in ARSOC.

    Big Army Should Think This Through

    With the emphasis of the Department of Defense on building deterrence capacity to China, the main effort is weighted toward Navy and Air Force capabilities. In other words, the Navy and Air Force lead, and the other services are in support. A key force multiplier that the Army can contribute to the main effort is the total ARSOC force structure, both the Green Berets and Rangers but also the entire ARSOC force package, which means the rest of the Army Special Operations enablers, to the odd conclusion of Ms. Wormuth and Mr. Maier, are the logical candidates for cuts.

    Their decision process and analytical rigor are mysterious at this point in time. Citing unfilled billets is hardly a reason for force structure cuts. All of the services are experiencing unprecedented challenges in recruiting and retention.

    Perhaps the off-limits term of wokeness has to be addressed. The 2024 NDAA fell short of directly targeting the ideology and its cancerous encroachment into U.S. military culture. However, it did begin to address the topic with Sections 364 and 904, which started to limit the staffing of diversity, equity, and inclusion billets.

    Until more transparency is presented, the merit of ARSOC-focused cuts is mysterious and runs counter to the intuitive value that ARSOC contributes to deterring and countering the Chinese regime’s overt and malign

  9. Grand Jury Declines to Charge Armed Patron Who Fatally Shot Robber in Houston Taqueria

    Feel good story of the day.

    Last January, a robber was shot to death by a patron at a taqueria on S. Gessner just before midnight last Thursday night.

    Surveillance video shows a black male in a black ski mask walking around the taqueria and robbing customers at gunpoint (it later turned out he was holding a BB gun).

    A bald man seated near the robber jumped into action and shot the suspect dead.

    According to Houston Police, the Good Samaritan then collected the money from the suspect and gave it back to the robbery victims.

    The unnamed 46-year-old armed customer (pictured below) cooperated with law enforcement and ultimately faced a grand jury.

    KHOU 11 reported:

    A grand jury declined to file charges against the man who shot and killed a robber at a southwest Houston taqueria last year.

    The shooting happened on Jan. 5, 2023, at the El Ranchito taqueria on South Gessner Road.

    In the wake of the shooting, there were calls for the shooter to be charged. Some called him a “vigilante.” Others called the man who shot and killed the robber a hero.

    Restaurant owner Pedro Lopez agreed with the grand jury’s decision. He also said the customer who fired the shots hasn’t returned in the year since the shooting.

    The 46-year-old shooter was never identified.

    Eric Eugene Washington, 30, was shot and killed as he walked through the restaurant robbing people, according to police.

    The robbery suspect (now deceased), Eric Washington, 30, was a convicted criminal.

    An official with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to local reports.

    TSA Assistant Federal Security Director Maxine McManaman was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia, by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on December 28.

    McManaman had a warrant for her arrest posted by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, which claimed she and an alleged accomplice named Delroy Chambers Sr. exploited a relative suffering from dementia by falsifying documents in their name, according to Port St. Lucie Police.

    The Florida authorities allege that the duo forged signatures on a quitclaim deed transferring ownership of a property in the relative’s name over to themselves.

    The relative whose property was transferred to McManaman and Chambers allegedly could not have signed the quitclaim deed, because the individual was found to have been in Atlanta on the date listed, according to police.

    Chambers was previously arrested on December 20 in Port St. Lucie, charged with two counts of exploitation of an elderly or disabled adult, simple neglect and two counts of forgery. He eventually bonded out of jail.

    McManaman is facing a third-degree felony charge of forgery.

    With the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary looming, more than the traditional silly season in politics has begun. A dangerous year is about to unfold, with dangers to follow. Not since 1860 has the nation faced a presidential election so consequential and so fraught with perils.

    Joe Biden plans to kick off his reelection bid at Valley Forge. Said Biden’s campaign manager, via CBS News:

    “The threat that Donald Trump posed in 2020 to American democracy has only grown more dire in the years since,” Chavez Rodriguez said, adding the Biden reelection campaign is being run like the “fate of our democracy depends on it — because it does.”

    To hell with the economy, border, and crime. The mission in 2024 is ending the threat that Trump poses to our glorious republic. If that doesn’t raise the stakes, what does?

    But Biden is facing some strong headwinds in his quest to save democracy from Trump’s clutches. Voters are telling doddering Joe to take a hike.

    In a recent Fox News analysis, Democrat pollster Doug Schoen compares Biden to Jimmy Carter, both a year before general elections. The comparison is downright dismal for Democrats. Schoen believes that Democrats better hunt up a new standard-bearer. But who? Smarmy used car salesman Gavin Newsom? Kamala, a genuine birdbrain? Ah, yes, election rigging compensates — unless the vote margins are too great.

    Joe’s Valley Forge speech will rail against Trump the scheming insurrectionist and White supremacists, who, one assumes, are Trump’s muscle, as the KKK was once Democrat muscle. Now, Democrats lean on BLM, Antifa, and the Deep State.

    Americans Are Ungovernable…Thank God

    Condoleezza Rice famously lamented, or perhaps proclaimed with admiration, that Americans are ungovernable. Yes. Yes, we are.

    The British learned that when they set their former countrymen loose on this land, beginning with the landing at Plymouth Rock, and thought we’d remain good Englishmen and just sit down and shut up. In spectacular fashion, we did not. Donald Trump taps into that ungovernable-ness in us, and for those who do not fear it, we love him for it. And hopefully, those who seek to destroy our country will learn this lesson all over again.

    For those who do not understand the phenomenon of Donald Trump, what follows is a small essay explaining the chord he has struck in the American body politic, even among those who are not so sure about him. He is ungovernable, and he reminds us that we are, too. And thank God we are, and are beginning to show signs of remembering this.

    Recently, I saw a clip of an interview between Vivek Ramaswamy and Piers Morgan. The interview picked up with Vivek asking Piers if he would be upset or offended if Vivek pointed something out to him.

    The essence of what Vivek said is the essence of what the rest of the world both envies and loathes about Americans: our insistence on adherence to the First and Second Amendments, which make all of the amendments that follow work. We say and do as we please. We confront our government when we think it has gone haywire.

    At the end of the day, the Second Amendment is not about skeet shooting. It is about defense — defense from enemies foreign and domestic. This makes the rest of the world uncomfortable with Americans. And old Piers smiled self-deprecatingly for the camera and admitted that, yes, he really is uncomfortable with Americans and perhaps doesn’t really like us, as he professes to do, except from afar, because we are a bit scary.

    Certainly, Trump and his support have made elements of our government uncomfortable. The full-throated support of the First and Second Amendments certainly hasn’t done anything to allay that discomfort. But the truth is that Americans are not uncomfortable with the First Amendment. We celebrate it. We are not uncomfortable with the 2nd Amendment, even those of us who do not own guns; we recognize its necessity. And we are quite comfortable that the First and Second give power to the our constitutional republican system. They are how we can be ungovernable.

  19. Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program is Accelerating Because of Joe Biden

    As we approach the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the Middle East will become more unstable, and Iran will get closer to having a nuclear weapon.

    According to a new International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report, Iran increased the rate of its production of near weapons-grade uranium (60% uranium-235) in late November 2023. This increase ended a slowdown of Iran’s 60% uranium enrichment that began in mid-2023 and increased the number of nuclear weapons it could theoretically make and the amount of time to construct them.

    Iran’s recent ramp-up of uranium enrichment followed warnings last year that the number of nuclear weapons Iran could construct has become dangerously high.

    A March 2023 assessment report by the Institute for Science and International Security indicated that Iran could enrich enough weapons-grade uranium (90% uranium-235) for one nuclear weapon in 12 days. In mid-November, the Institute assessed Iran was capable of making enough weapons-grade uranium “for six nuclear weapons in one month, eight in two months, ten in three months, eleven in four months, and twelve in five months.”

    In the year 2023, most of the top 10 largest cities in the United States experienced a surge in the rate of hate crimes, with an average increase of at least 11%.

    According to Axios, 2023 was the third consecutive year to see a growth in the number of hate crimes committed in major American cities, peaking at a record high of 2,173 cases. The data was compiled by the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism (CSHE) at California State University, San Bernardino.

    This year’s surge was largely attributed to anti-Semitic sentiment in the aftermath of the October 7th, 2023 terrorist attacks against Israel, which saw mobs of Muslim-Americans and young Americans storm the streets in support of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

  21. To Evade War in Ukraine, More Russian Soldiers Are Deserting

    As fighting raged in an around Bakhmut amid Russia’s unrelenting assault earlier this year turning the eastern Ukrainian city to rubble, a Russian conscript began plotting how he would desert shortly after being deployed there.

    Anton (not his real name) said he was given a two-week leave in August that would prove his ticket out of the carnage.

    “From the first days there, I began to intensely study this. I surfed the Internet. What? How? Where?” Anton recounted recently from an undisclosed location abroad to Current Time, the Russian-language network led by RFE/RL in cooperation with VOA.

    Anton is just one of a growing number of Russian soldiers who have reportedly deserted their military units in Ukraine. While no hard figures are available, the independent news outlet Mediazone has reported that 2,076 criminal cases were opened in the first half of 2023 against Russian soldiers accused of abandoning their units without leave. That is said to be twice the total for 2022 and three times higher than the prewar figure for 2021. Analysts say the true figures are likely higher given the Kremlin’s systematic attempts to hide information about the military.

    Despite the risks of prosecution, it’s a gamble more Russian conscripts appear to be willing to take. The Georgian-based antiwar organization Idite Lesom — which means “go through the forest” in Russian – helps Russian soldiers to desert. It said 18 percent of all requests they’ve received from those wanting to desert were registered in October alone.

    “There is no rotation; it is very difficult to go on leave. Deserters who went on leave or ended up in the hospital say this is their only option not to end up in the war again,” Daria Berg, an activist with Idite Lesom, told Current Time.

    The voices of the wives of Russian soldiers have grown louder too in recent weeks, too, challenging the Kremlin’s argument that mobilized troops are needed in combat indefinitely to secure what Moscow defines as victory in Ukraine.

    In no mood to compromise, Russian authorities “are likely attempting to quash public dissent by wives of deployed soldiers, including by attempting to pay them off and discrediting them online. This follows small protests in Moscow in November,” the British Defense Ministry noted in its Intelligence Update on December 2.

    It pointed out that on November 27 a prominent online group for soldiers’ wives published a manifesto against ‘indefinite mobilization” but was quickly “pinned with a ‘fake’ warning label — likely at the instigation of pro-Kremlin actors.”

    “The authorities are likely particularly sensitive to any protests related to those citizens mobilized in September 2022, who have now been at the front line for over a year,” the British Defense Ministry said.

    The protests by wives come amid a reported uptick in Russian military casualties as its forces attempt to seize the small eastern Donbas city of Avdiyivka amid strong Ukrainian resistance.

    Due to that Russian offensive, the British Defense Ministry said on November 27 that “the last six weeks have likely seen some of the highest casualty rates of the war so far.”

    Neither Moscow nor Kyiv gives timely data on military losses, and each is at pains to amplify the other side’s casualties. Russia has publicly acknowledged the deaths of just over 6,000 soldiers. The real figure is likely much higher.

    The first independent statistical analysis released in July found that nearly 50,000 Russian men had died in the war in Ukraine.

    For those soldiers deployed on the battlefield and yearning to desert, the chances are slim to none, according to Berg.

    “This is very difficult to do, because if you are already in the war zone in the occupied territories, there are detachments that, if they don’t kill you, they’ll put you in pits. These are like prisons, where [the would-be deserter] is tied naked to trees. The conditions are unbearable,” Berg explained.

    Earlier this year, Anton, who hails from the Ivanovo region of Russia, was first deployed after three months training in Russia to Dibrova, a town in the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk, much of it under control by Russian-backed forces since 2014.

    “We replaced the local defense forces of the Luhansk region there. We stayed there for six months until the summer. We saw an intense spring there,” he said.

    By the summer, Anton was sent to Bakhmut to replace Wagner mercenaries who had withdrawn in May as they handed over control of the area to Russia’s military.

    Bakhmut was captured by Russian forces that month after more than 220 days of brutal house-to-house fighting.

    “There were a lot of people in Bakhmut. There was nowhere to house people…. There were lots of buildings, but all were destroyed. And the basements were filled with fecal matter. It was completely unsanitary,” described Anton.

    He remained in Bakhmut until August, when he received his two-week leave. He returned home and managed to slip out of the country with the help of Idite Lesom.

    Anton said he was always opposed to the war, but evading conscription, he said, required money he didn’t readily have.

    “The majority do not understand the goals of the war. Something somewhere does not add up. They [the Russian authorities] say one thing, but in fact [the reality] here is something else,” he said.

    While gauging the public mood in authoritarian Russia is tricky at best, a recent poll showed for the first time since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022 that more Russians want their government to enter peace talks with Ukraine than continue the war.

    The Washington-based Institute for the Study of War on December 1 reported that Chronicles, an independent Russian polling organization, said its October telephone survey indicated that the number of respondents who were “consistent” supporters of the war — those who expressed support for the war, do not support a withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine without Russia having achieved its war aims, and think Russia should prioritize military spending — fell from 22 percent to 12 percent between February and October this year.

    However, there are no signs Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to back down. On December 1, Putin ordered the country’s military to increase the number of troops by nearly 170,000 to a total of 1.32 million, as Moscow’s military action in Ukraine continues into its 22nd month.

    It is the second such expansion of the army since 2018. The previous boost by 137,000 troops, ordered by Putin in August 2022, put the military’s numbers at about 2 million personnel and about 1.15 million troops .

    “Our goal is to make sure that fewer people are fighting,” said Berg. “So that Putin has fewer soldiers and officers to kill Ukrainians.”

    For Anton, he is still not sure where he will ultimately settle in Europe, but he is certain he will not return home to Russia.

  22. Groups That Support Hamas

    Even before the bodies of roughly 1,200 people in Israel , including dozens of children, were cold after being tortured, raped and massacred on October 7 by the Iran-backed terrorist group Hamas, not just Palestinians and Arabs, but people in the West could be seen demonstrating in support of the torturers, murderers and rapists. Even the otherwise outraged hashtag women’s groups have yet to be heard from, with at least one politician in the US, a woman, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), actually “downplaying” the atrocities and other members of the public denying that they had even happened.

    Who are these people and groups supporting a terrorist group, Hamas?

    Of course, when it may not appear seemly to support a designated terrorist group, one can always hide behind “supporting Palestinians” although how destroying Israel and killing Jews furthers that goal remains unclear. The people now suffering in Gaza are not doing so because of Israel — which might with historic justification say that its land has been stolen — which gave Gaza to the Arabs in 2005 there so they could build a Singapore by the Mediterranean, not terror tunnels. The suffering of the Palestinians comes from their own corrupt leaders (here and here) who have imposed decades of cold-blooded rule.

    Surprisingly, by far the largest group supporting Hamas appears to be TikTok. The popular social media app claims about 150 million monthly users — just in the United States — about 44% of the population of the entire country. TikTok operates by tracking what you like and then giving you more of it. TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) — as are, by law, all companies in China – therefore “promotes or suppresses” material presumed to further the interests of the CCP. Many Americans — and Britons – particularly, young people, apparently now get their news from TikTok — and what TikTok shows reflects a significant anti-Israel bias. Two other Chinese platforms, Alibaba and Baidu, have already erased Israel from the map.

  23. Ottawa public transit is extremely dangerous, especially for teens.

    15 years ago – yes, this is not new…. a ten riding the public transit bus through CenterPoint, an upper middle class neighborhood with a reputation for safety, was strangled to death by his iPhone headphones cord for his electronics. And about 10 or so years ago, a mom called the public transit administration about her teen being robbed. When she described the exact location and bus line number, the transit person asked her if she is referring to the 5 o’clock or the 7 o’clock robbery.

    Since then, the reporting stopped, but not the violence, as I have some first person accounts from last spring…

    So, all we can tell is that city of Ottawa is better at quashing news reporting.

    And let us not forget that rocket launcher or similar that was found in the trunk of a car driving the streets. We only heard about it because the evidence was thrown out during the trial due to gross malfeasance by the Ottawa police officers, both of whose stories were so bad they even contradicted each other…

    The point is, there are some serious weapons moving around Ottawa…

    Biden’s Department of Education’s (ED) Office of Civil Rights (OCR) is investigating San Diego State University (SDSU) after the school shared a statement condemning the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel and offering support to impacted members of the campus community.

    OCR opened the complaint on Tuesday.

    The statement,signed by San Diego State University President Adela de la Torre, Ph.D. and Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Christy Samarkos, read:

    Throughout this weekend and today, SDSU has been in direct communication with dozens of impacted community members after the horrific reports of killings and kidnappings following the Hamas attacks on Israel during Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah, a major Jewish holy day. What is being reported is heartbreaking. We have heard from SDSU community members who have family, close friends and colleagues in the region. Many have spent several terrifying days praying for their safety. Some have not had those prayers answered. We cannot express to you the depths of emotion and anguish we have felt and encountered since Saturday.

    We are grieving for all those who are suffering in the wake of this outburst of violence. We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, any act of violence, especially those against innocent civilians. We are deeply struck by the sheer scale of the loss of life — of innocent Israelis, Palestinians, and countless others.

    We also recognize that this follows a long history of loss of life of civilians in this region. It is our utmost priority that SDSU respond by setting a different tone — one of compassion, learning and dialogue and, above all, empathy for what our campus community may be experiencing.     A spokesman for the university said in a statement, “The email, which you can read in full online, does not promote hate or racism.”

    It has not been disclosed who made the complaint, but the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at SDSU released a statement on Instagram condemning the president’s statement.

    “Students for Justice in Palestine along with students and faculty are deeply hurt and disappointed by the statement released by San Diego State University’s President Adela del la Torre. San Diego State University has failed to acknowledge the emotions and well-being of its Palestinian and Muslim students.”

    “Many students on this campus come from a Palestinian background, many of whom have lived through or have family who have lived through the ongoing occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine and the Palestinian people. Many of your very own students share similar stories where their families have been expelled from their homes and forced to flee their homeland.”

  25. Only Citizens Should Vote in America

    The next step in radically changing America is now underway. City officials in our national capital plan to allow non-citizens to vote next year.

    President Joe Biden let millions of illegal immigrants cross the border. Then he bussed them to Washington DC. The city’s Democratic machine now wants to let them vote – knowing they will almost certainly vote Democrat for all the support and assistance.

    This policy is a clear threat to American nationalism.

    Three characteristics define a survivable national identity.

    There must be a border which defines the nation. There must be a broad sense of history and common culture which enables people to see themselves as belonging to a common community. And there must be meaningful citizenship which gives people a stake in the larger national community (in our case, citizenship allows us to vote).

    The American left has been working overtime to erase all three of these characteristics.

    The left believes in open borders – and has done everything to make America open to millions of Biden’s illegal immigrants. This has not been the result of incompetence or lack of resources. This is deliberate policy. And, from the left’s standpoint, it is successful.

    The left hates American history. It despises the great men and women who sacrificed and worked to make America the most successful, prosperous, and freest country in the world. For three generations, the left has been brainwashing children into an anti-American worldview. The anti-American prejudice now infects most of our newsrooms and many of our larger corporations.

    Now that the left has been getting Biden’s illegal immigrants into the country, its members want to start letting illegal immigrants vote. In effect, the non-citizens would offset Americans with whom the left doesn’t agree. They are especially committed to getting new non-citizens to vote. Their dream of a huge American Latino-Democratic majority has been destroyed by the radicalism and real-world failures of Bidenism (Trump is now running ahead of Biden among American Latinos).

    A key test case for getting Biden’s illegal immigrants to vote in 2024 will be the City of Washington DC. Our national capital’s left-wing politicians are totally failing to protect residents from runaway crime (there were 959 car-jackings in DC in 2023). The city bureaucracy is driving sports teams out of town. The roads are decaying, and American citizens must visit their own national capital with a sense of concern for their own safety. Now, the DC City Council has decided its next contribution to American decay is to disenfranchise its own residents and allow non-citizens to vote.

    Now, the left – as they always do – will shout that being concerned about the votes of U.S. citizens being cancelled out by the votes of non-citizens is (you guessed it) racist. This is a ham-fisted attempt to shout down any discussion of what is an absurd, self-destructive policy that would make the entire concept of American citizenship meaningless.

    This is nothing but a fringe political position which is totally rejected by the American people.

    In a national survey from February 2021, Americans deeply opposed allowing non-citizens to vote in American elections. Further, they support requiring citizenship verification during voter registration.

    In Arizona, 81 percent support allowing only American citizens to vote and requiring citizenship verification to register to vote in federal elections. Only 15 percent oppose. In Maine, 75 percent support a ban on non-citizen voting and only 19 percent oppose. In Montana, the figures are 86 percent support and 11 percent oppose, and in West Virginia, they are 84 percent to 13 percent.

    In another national poll by McLaughlin & Associates from May 2021, 61 percent disapproved of “new laws in places such as California and Vermont that allow non-citizens to vote in U.S. elections.” Only 30 percent approved.

    Congress should move this month to block the DC politicians’ effort to let non-citizens vote in our national capital. Congress should also pass a law making it illegal for non-citizens to cast ballots in federal elections.

    The effort to let non-citizens overrule Americans must be stopped.

    The images captured NJ Transit cops escorting migrants arriving in Trenton from Texas off their buses and onto trains bound for Manhattan’s Penn Station, from where they then head to the city’s main intake center.

    The Garden State’s moves to avoid the out-of-control migrant mess sparked the ire of at least one Big Apple pol, whose borough has been inundated with hotels housing asylum-seekers.

    “New Jersey absolutely should do something,” Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, a close Adams ally, told The Post on Thursday.

    “New Jersey is going to have to be part of the solution,” he continued. “Are you going to put people on trains to New York forever? What if the migrants refuse to get on the train? Is New Jersey going to arrest them?”

    The busload of asylum-seekers touching down in Trenton at around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday had no qualms about being escorted to New York City, according to the photos.

  27. New York City announces lawsuit against bus companies sending migrants to city, seeks $708 million

    Mayor Eric Adams announced the lawsuit on Thursday.

    New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced a lawsuit against 17 bus and transportation companies helping to send asylum-seekers to the city as it deals with major budget issues surrounding the crisis.

    The city is seeking $708 million in the lawsuit to cover costs for caring for migrants.

    “New York City has and will always do our part to manage this humanitarian crisis, but we cannot bear the costs of reckless political ploys from the state of Texas alone,” Adams said in a statement. “Today, we are taking legal action against 17 companies that have taken part in Texas Governor [Greg] Abbott’s scheme to transport tens of thousands of migrants to New York City in an attempt to overwhelm our social services system.

    He continued, “These companies have violated state law by not paying the cost of caring for these migrants, and that’s why we are suing to recoup approximately $700 million already spent to care for migrants sent here in the last two years by Texas.”

    The lawsuit has yet to be reviewed by the county clerk.

    According to testimony, computers from Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion were removed before the FBI conducted a search of the property.

    Zhongzhi Enterprise Group: Chinese shadow bank files for bankruptcy

    A major Chinese shadow bank has filed for bankruptcy on the grounds it was unable to pay its debts.

    On Friday, a Beijing court accepted the application from Zhongzhi Enterprise Group (ZEG), which has lent billions to real estate firms.

    Chinese officials launched an investigation into “suspected illegal crimes” against the firm in November.

    It followed reports that ZEG had declared it was insolvent.

    The struggling group reportedly told investors in a letter in November that its liabilities – up to $64bn (£50.6bn) – had outstripped its assets, now estimated at about $38bn.

    On Friday, a Beijing court published a statement on the social media network WeChat saying that ZEG’s “assets are insufficient to pay off all debts, and it clearly lacks the ability to repay in full”.

    ZEG is a major player in China’s shadow banking industry, a term for a system of lenders, brokers and other credit intermediaries who fall outside the realm of traditional regulated banking.

    Shadow banking, which is unregulated, is not subject to the same kinds of risk, liquidity and capital restrictions as traditional banks.

    Informal lending has always existed in China’s economy, but shadow banking really took off in the aftermath of the global financial crisis in 2008, when credit was scarce.

    On the eve of the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a $30 million wrongful death suit has been filed against the federal government for the Capitol Police shooting of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt.

    Washington-based Judicial Watch filed the suit on behalf of Babbitt’s estate and her husband, Aaron Babbitt, claiming the officer who shot Babbitt was “incompetent” and “dangerous” and should have seen that the 35-year-old posed no threat to Congress when she entered the House speaker’s lobby.

    The negligence lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court Southern District of California.

    “The only homicide on January 6 was the unlawful shooting death of Ashli Babbitt. Her homicide by Lt. [Michael] Byrd is a scandal beyond belief. This historic lawsuit seeks a measure of justice and government accountability for Ashli’s wrongful death,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said.

    “Judicial Watch and our supporters are honored to represent Ashli’s steadfast widower Aaron Babbitt and her estate in this legal action. Ashli was shot in cold blood, and the rule of law requires justice for her,” Fitton added.

    The Justice Department probed the shooting and decided against charging Byrd.

    The suit claims that Babbitt was not a threat to lawmakers and that Byrd had a soiled record of gunplay.

    For example, it claimed that Byrd once left his Glock 22, used to shoot Babbitt, in a public bathroom. It also claimed that Byrd shot into a car allegedly stolen by teenagers.
