1. Zelensky Says He Won’t Hold Elections Unless U.S. and EU Pay for Them

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has demanded that taxpayers in the United States and European Union send the country even more aid if the West wishes for elections to be held next year.

In an interview published by the president’s office on Sunday evening, Zelensky said that he would be willing to hold elections despite the ongoing martial law amid the war with Russia, so long as the U.S. and EU bankroll the voting process.

The Ukrainian leader said that elections during peacetime typically cost around 5 billion hryvnia ($135 million) but did not speculate as to how much more they would cost during a war, though presumably it would be much higher.

2. I guess they don’t care what we know now? Will this drive more people who have been vaxxed to get the vaxx to mitigate vaxx vulnerability to this strain? Makes one want to shake one’s head like a harmonica player. Our rule of thumb: When government appears to be telling you something true, it is usually to hide a bigger lie. In the case, the bigger lie is that more vaxx will help. But it could be something bigger and darker as well.

3. Diana West: Where Are 2,025 Missing Lahaina Schoolchildren?

Above is a snap of Keith T. Hayashi, Superintendent of the Hawaii Department of Education, presenting a report on “Maui Wildfire Impacts” on August 24. The “impacts,” of course, have been ghastly — surreal . For starters, none of Lahaina’s four public schools in West Maui are operational since the fires of August 8. However, it is in this same DOE report that we can see, in the dispassionate navy blue and white of a simple graphic (below), that over two thousand — 2,025 — previously enrolled Lahaina schoolchildren are missing from the public school system. That’s a little over two-thirds of the 3,001 children heretofore served by Lahaina schools who “have not re-enrolled in another public school or opted for distance learning.” As if to soothe spiking palpitations of panic, the slide also notes that these two-thousand-plus kids may well “have moved out of state” or “enrolled in private schools.” Yes, yes, they may well have done exactly that. Further, some or even many of these children and their families could be so overwhelmed by the ordeal they are suffering through that school is the last thing on any of their minds. But it is also possible, as noted by the Hawaii Star Advertiser, that some of these children “may have died in the fire.”

4. 16 minute video on communists blocking the highway to Burning man

When the sign says, “Abolish Capitalism” we can at last dispense with the notion that this is about climate. The description: “August 27 2023 Black Rock Desert, NEVADA – “30 seconds, send your leader to my vehicle, let’s talk, get off the fucken road” – Tribal Ranger announced on the highway leading to #BurningMan festival where climate activists blocked the road. About 37 seconds later a ranger RAMMED through blockade, made arrest at gun point.” Yeay!

5. Some dialectics are so blunt it almost would be better described as the weaponization of white useful-idiot’s sanctimony. Take this case where South African leadership has literally been getting large crowds to chant a song where the lyrics include, “Kill the white farmer” and even more specific instructions, and when people point that out as being, you know, potentially racist and incitement to violence they claim that the song isn’t meant to be taken literally. Of course it is a dialectic in the sense that this is encouraged as it moves the world and region to the left and advances the revolution, but it’s also weaponizing the sanctimony of white leftists, who would feel clever and special for claiming to be OK with the one-way incitement to murder on a racial basis. On the recent murder of a white farmer after that song is chanted.
