Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said shots were fired at local police & blamed ‘rebel elements controlled by the Serbian government in the north’ & also urged caution over misinformation.

  2. This will be an interesting story to follow. Why? Some 96% of Kosovars are Muslim while Kosovo Serbians are Christian with heavy Serb ID. Therefore, the Kosovo Serbs living on the border do not consider themselves as Kosovars.

    Some 50,000 Serbians living on the border in Kosovo refuse to change their license plates for Kosovar ones.

    New development: “Following tensions on Sunday evening and consultations with EU and US ambassadors, Pristina said it would delay its plan for one month, and start implementation on September 1.”

    Side note: Kosovo will be applying for EU membership at year-end. Thus, if I were of Serbian origin, I would prefer to remain so.
