The only thing missing from his speech was that the pharmaceutical companies insisted on not being liable for any adverse effects from the vaccine. Which doesn’t show much confidence in their own product.

Teachers Union: ‘It’s OK’ That Kids Don’t Know Math, ‘They Know The Words Insurrection And Coup’
The head of the Los Angeles teachers union said “there is no such thing as learning loss,” despite evidence of massive educational declines due to a year of remote learning.
Cecily Myart-Cruz, president of United Teachers Los Angeles, told LA Magazine that “It’s OK that our babies may not have learned all their times tables. They learned resilience. They learned survival. They learned critical-thinking skills. They know the difference between a riot and a protest. They know the words insurrection and coup.”
When schools shut down in early 2020 due to coronavirus, the union demanded that teachers not have to teach remotely for more than four hours a day, despite receiving pay for a full day. Teachers often simply posted assignments that students were expected to download and complete on their own.
Nearly two-thirds of students largely ignored this version of school, and almost none of the district’s 229,000 elementary school students logged on at all, LA Magazine reported.
Staying at home has also made children fat, which is one of the main risk factors for coronavirus.

They referred to human beings who’ve committed no crime. People who simply want to make their own decisions about their own bodies. People who’ve said ‘no thanks’ to fast-tracked COVID-19 vaccines.
When’s the last time the Toronto Star targeted any other identifiable group in this manner? Has it ever used its front page to declare that drug addicts who overdose don’t deserve medical attention? That cop killers with gunshot wounds don’t qualify for an ICU bed? That inmates serving prison sentences for heinous crimes should be relegated to a tent in hospital parking lots?
How about drunk drivers? Morbidly obese people? 2-pack-a-day smokers who develop lung cancer? How about gays who contract HIV/AIDS? When has the Toronto Star ever said that anyone, of any description, deserves to die from medical neglect?
Let us remember that many frontline healthcare workers and first responders don’t want these vaccines. They have their reasons. Large numbers of people of colour don’t want these vaccines, either.
Instead of helping us understand each other, a newspaper that once championed the common person and the common good is promulgating murderous bigotry.

Israel offers Covid-19 vaccine booster shots to all residents 12 and older, says ‘green pass’ will expire six months after jabs
Israel’s government has expanded availability of controversial Covid-19 vaccine booster shots to all inoculated residents 12 and older and decreed that those who decline the third jab will soon lose their “green pass” privileges.
The move, announced on Sunday, marked the fourth time this month that Israel has expanded eligibility for vaccine booster shots. Initially rolled out on August 1, the booster campaign was then limited to people 60 and older. The minimum age was dropped to 30 last week.
He added that “this is a privilege that no other country has,” apparently ignoring the fact that Russia rolled out booster shots of its Sputnik V and Sputnik Light Covid-19 vaccines on July 1, a month ahead of Israel’s program.
Israelis will be able to get a third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at least five months after they receive their second shot, the country’s Health Ministry said. Apparently, the government envisions additional booster shots down the road. Effective from October 1, the “green pass” required for entry into some gatherings and public places will expire not only six months after the holder receives a second dose, but also six months after their third jab.
Critics of the vaccine-passport program have accused the country of having citizens “de-personed” if they don’t get shots every six months, creating a “perpetual cycle of jabs.” Essentially, Israel is judging people who haven’t received a booster shot within six months after being fully inoculated to no longer be vaccinated.
Those with proof of having received a booster shot also will have the privilege of dodging a week-long quarantine upon returning to Israel from overseas, as long as they traveled to a country deemed to have low or moderate risk of Covid-19 infection. Booster recipients will be allowed to self-isolate for 24 hours or take a test to prove that they’re not infected with the virus.
Bennett has been a leading proponent of booster shots, saying earlier this month that elderly people who don’t get a third dose are in “mortal danger.” But even as the spread of Covid-19’s Delta variant has heightened concerns over the waning efficacy of vaccines, the World Health Organization (WHO) has repeatedly urged rich nations to refrain from administering booster shots at a time when many countries have scarcely begun to inoculate their people because doses aren’t available for them.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was billed as having a 95% efficacy rate in preventing Covid-19 infections, but that rate diminished to 39% in Israel, the Health Ministry said last month.
Natural immunity is apparently far stronger. An Israeli study released last week showed that people who have received two vaccine doses are as much as 13 times more likely to be infected with Covid-19 than unvaccinated people who have previously contracted the virus and recovered.
“The third complementary vaccine works,” Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said on Sunday. “Two million Israelis have already been vaccinated [with a third dose].”
