Reader’s Links for April 21, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. I think this quote sums up the danger the US is in:
“Any body suggesting that the verdict was a good thing because it will placate the mob are a bigger threat to you than the mob itself.”

      • This is a Third World verdict, the correct verdict would have been guilty of Manslaughter and not guilty on the other two. The Judge ensured that there would be a harsh verdict when he didn’t sequester the Jury. This let the riots and jury tampering my Maxine Waters and others become known to the jurors. Waters and all of the other speakers at demonstrations are guilty of Jury Intimidation,

    • And think about the upcoming sentence. The judge wants to avoid mass rioting and violent retribution toward himself and his family should he not impose a heavy sentence that will placate the mob. Nothing is fair in this story.

      • Years ago when we had a complete moron, druggy, inconsiderate, badass neighbour in our area, a woman came to ask me what I was going to do about the nut. I asked her what her husband was going to do and she told me he was afraid to do anything for fear the nut would burn their house down.

Others moved away, and I, I stayed, he moved. The coward, “drug salesman” told the police I had threatened him. LOL

  2. “MPD training materials show knee-to-neck restraint similar to the one used on Floyd”

“In filing a motion to dismiss the charges he faces in the death of George Floyd, former Minneapolis police officer Thomas Lane included 30 pages of MPD training materials, including information on a restraint called the “maximal restraint technique,” and a photo of an officer with his knee to a suspect’s neck similar to the hold used by former officer Derek Chauvin on Floyd.

The training materials specify: “the maximal restraint technique shall only be used in situations where handcuffed subjects are combative and still pose a threat to themselves, officers or others, or could cause significant damage property if not properly restrained.”

The slide that includes the photo states that officers should “Place the subject in the recovery position to alleviate positional asphyxia.””

“In his motion to dismiss, Lane’s attorney Earl Gray argues that Floyd continued to kick and yell as Lane held his legs, after Lane suggested using the maximal restraint technique.”

“Gray also notes that Lane twice asked Chauvin if they should turn Floyd to his side.

“Chauvin, a 20-year veteran and (field training officer) told Lane, no, keep him where he is at until the ambulance arrives. Chauvin assured Lane that Floyd was fine where he was,” Gray wrote.

Gray argues that it was reasonable for Lane to follow Chauvin’s direction, because it was only Lane’s fourth day on the job.”

  3. Call me a Nazi but I fail to see anything racist in the entire George Floyd saga, no matter who did what to whom. And I don’t think that Officer Derek Chauvin committed anything like “murder” against Floyd. I think Chauvin simply went to work that day and found himself in an unstable tricky no-win situation with the large powerful defendant putting on a riot-starting show while continually resisting arrest and saying things like “I can’t breathe” and “I have claustrophobia” and putting on a frightened child voice and whining, “Please, Mr. Policeman, don’t hurt me, pleeeeezzzz… Boo, hoo, hoo, as the crowd got bigger, mouthier, and more on Floyd’s side. And I think what happened was that George Floyd simply worked himself up into such a fevered state that his heart condition, blood pressure, and high fentanyl count conspired with the knee and the road and the fumes to make his heart stop beating, which is what would likely happen to me if I did what George did and they threw me on the ground, etcetera. That’s why I would never do that…

As for the knee. We all seem to have lost sight of the fact that resisting arrest and fighting with police officers can result in getting hurt or even killed. I’ve known that since I was five years old watching The Lone Ranger and Tonto and Marshal Dillon. Why don’t some of these famous “victims” seem to know in adulthood what I knew at five…?

    • You’re a Nazi. Lol.

Don’t give invites Chris. Never give a bully with a stick permission to beat you with it.

Everything you said is logical – when we put ourselves into the officers’ situation facing violent chaos.

And the mob may have prevented Officer Chauvin looking down on Mr Floyd to check on his health, and so only relying on the pressure of his knee. One look away, and his gun taken.

Unfortunately, the Minneapolis Police Department sacked Chauvin and three other policemen the day after Floyd’s arrest. Sacked before an enquiry could be made. And so with no Police review to report on them carrying out their duties, they went to trial.

Here, in court at least, justice should be done. His defense was heard. The prosecution determining his guilt. And the jury’s unanimous, beyond reasonable doubt, decision made. With the missing Police Report.

      • Maxine Waters and others intimidated the Jury with their threats and orders of riots, that in itself if grounds for an appeals court declaring a miss trial.

        • The Liberal watchdog group, Citizens for Responsiblity and Ethics in Washington named Waters to its list in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2011. In 2009 she was named “Porker of the Month” and came under investigation for ethics violations.

During the LA riots Waters said the people who looted the stores were just “Mothers who took the opportunity to take some milk, to take some bread, and to take some shoes…..they are not crooks”.

    • No he didn’t commit murder, at worst it was manslaughter. All of the speakers at the protests who made veiled and some not so veiled threats of riots or commanded riots are guilty of jury intimidation and should be sentenced to longer prison time then the 4 and 1/2 years that would be the correct verdict for the cop.

    • Chauvin did nothing wrong.

He did NOT put his knee on Floyd’s neck – despite the appearance of this on the infamous video.

A video from another angle shows Chauven’s knee was pressing down on Floyd’s shoulder blade, as per police procedure.

      • Having served on a Jury, I did not listen to the defense lawyer or prosecution lawyer, because they are paid to mislead and deceive. But to listen to the witnesses, and review the evidence. To make notes. It is up to the jury to decide on what is proffered. Charm, sleeze, and unprepared laziness did not deter me.
With 5 people on my jury pronouncing guilty, three undecided, and one didn’t care and wanted to return back to work. it was a discussion to break down the ‘facts’ into facts. On my watch, a life is a life and I was making sure they knew their own minds – which they didn’t, until explained to them. Unanimously found not guilty.

And so, for a jury to return so quickly – it implied not one of them fought for Chauvin’s rights. Was it so clear they had a murderer? Or was this an emotional lynching? .

“What most prosecution cases don’t want are jurors that have connections to big corporations or insurance companies. They don’t want small business owners, HR personnel, or people who have been involved on the prosecution side of their own personal injury cases. In addition, you don’t want people who favor tort reform, or are vocally opposed to “frivolous lawsuits.”
        https://www.egletlaw.com/how-lawyers-pick-jurors-and-why-it-matters/

“Lawyers can stack a jury in their favor so that their desired outcome takes place. It is far easier for a prosecutor to do this than a defendant in most jurisdictions, which means a jury can still convict someone based on their bias instead of the facts involved in the case.”

The fight for a child of god, even if they do not know it themselves, is a cornerstone of civilization.

  4. “Clank! Bang! Tingle!”
    What was that?
Oh, nothing. Just the sound of about a hundred-thousand law enforcement officers finally making up their minds to get right out of policing, lose eighty stress-pounds, and go back to school or get into construction or try fishing in Alaska or maybe be a lighthouse keeper because they’ve just seen one of their own railroaded into a probable life-sentence for simply doing his job and falling afoul of the Woke cancel-culture. Chauvin is probably going to get about thirty years in solitary confinement for his own protection. He would be better off to kill himself than to sit in a little room by himself with nothing to do for the rest of his life – wrongly convicted of murder by corrupt Democrat schemers. No one will want to be a cop and risk that…

Gee, I wonder if the Chinese and Iranian Generals are happy about seeing the American Justice System fall apart before their eyes. I wonder if that weakens the country in any way…

      • Yes. Derek Chauvin is no more unless he can win on appeal or get a new trial or something miraculous like that. Like, he did not murder George Floyd and they have convicted him of Second Degree Murder. That’s not supposed to happen.

If I was a cop I would be out the effing door right now. No more people shouting “pig!” at me when I can’t say anything back. It used to be that cops were supposed to maintain a certain distance and authoritative aloofness and be just a little bit frightening. Now you see people treating them like retarded towel-boys at the ballgame, and that just can’t possibly work. How can they face off against hardened criminals when they are treated like scum by the people they’re trying to protect?

The Democrats want, for some reason, to see the United States completely dissolve into chaos with nightly car-burnings and murders and riots. They want to see the borders wide-open and the criminals ruling the streets while the cops cower in fear.

Is it starting to occur to anyone that the word “left-wing” is the same as the word, “traitor”? Have you ever seen a left-winger support something that didn’t actually harm the country? You know they get funded through NGOs that are funded by God-knows-who…right?

      • Did anyone ever think the verdict would be not guilty?

Does anyone really believe the mail-in guy won the election?

Where did the flu, the seasonal flu go this year?

Why would you get a rushed vaccine instead of living a healthy life style?

Why would ANY doctor tell a person to get the vaccine when they know there are drugs to treat COVID?

Why do people live their lives listening to the propaganda CBC, CTV, Global news and the rags that used to be real newspapers?
At what point did people stop thinking for themselves?

Why is CBC and other news organizations propped up by the government?

I loved our quality of life in Canada before we were told all the lies about COVID. Klaus Schwab, Trudeau and Freeland were right when they said “ The pandemic has been good for promoting their “Great Reset” scheme. When will they stand trial for Crimes against humanity?

  5. The other day I wrote about how I thought it was obvious these lockdowns would end in riots. The sheer frustration of people would drive them to the streets. Maybe this will happen, maybe not. A more insightful opinion than my own is in the attached article.

Our crisis in science is here and now. Look what it is doing. The politicization of everything is a form of public mania, driven by power-mad ideologues greedy for the glory of themselves. The biggest problem with this is that they happen to be driving the bus in which we are all passengers, and they’re careening with only one hand on the wheel as they apply lipstick in the rear-view mirror. One needs to look no further than at Dystopia’s Dear Leader soaked in smug as his impish terrier bitch delivered a woke federal budget. I believe Chrystia Freeland called it the first feminist budget, or some such insanity. If this doesn’t blast capital out of the country I don’t know what will. The only problem for capital, then, is where to find refuge in a world gone woke under a blanket of smothering debt. Every western country sinking under this debt burden will hunt that money to the edge of a flat earth with its tax howitzer. And eastern havens are too foreign for comfort. Indeed, the danger presented by this crisis in science is no more acute than in experimental mRNA therapies. (The word “therapy” sounds so comforting, doesn’t it?) I include mass vaccination in this idea because, valid or not, mass vaccination is one big bob bobbing in this ocean of science crisis, so becomes particularly noteworthy.

The shame of Lysenkoism is on display once again as we suffer with the struggle of science versus scientism. When an idea sounds plausible, and seems to be a means to an ideological end, roll with it no matter the veracity of the real science that contradicts it. And as always, the failure of that ideological end forever has the silver lining of power and money as compensation for those maniacs propelling it.

Herding invisible, microscopic organisms with a talent for hitchhiking is a mug’s game. It hardly takes a PhD in Stupid to know this.

  6. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts gives his analysis on what, possibly, is the big kick-off to coming Soviet-styled show trials that signals the fall of whatever was left of a fair and just American legal system. This is a monstrous victory for the Left. Anyone can now be put on trial for anything, and both judge and jury–if they are not brainwashed– will be scared shi%$#ss that they’ll be lynched for delivering any verdict that does not further the revolution. I hope I am overstating this, but worry that I am not. A very worthy interview:

    • Pay close attention to this video, it is telling the facts about the Chinese economy and why Xi can’t back down in his threats to Taiwan and the Philippines. Xi either invades Taiwan in the hopes of getting enough liquid assets to keep the Mainland alive for another year.

This quest for liquid assets was the main reason for the Crack Down on Hong Kong, the problem (from Xi view point) was that most of the Gold and other liquid assets had been moved out of Hong Kong. This meant that China has a limited time to acquire more liquid assets or suffer a slow motion economic collapse. The CCP and keep their internal economy going for while by pri9nting money but the more the print the fewer foreign investments and the lower the exports as the foreign trade partners search for a more reliable source for their products.

  7. Farmer’s grace at Men’s’ Breakfast, something for all of us to think about.

The group ask an old farmer to say grace:
“Lord I hate buttermilk” the farmer began. The visiting pastor open one eye and glanced around. The farmer proclaimed loudly “I hate lard”. Now the pastor was growing concerned. Without missing a beat, the farmer continued “And Lord, you know I don’t care much for raw white flour”. Now the pastor noticed others were uncomfortable. Then the farmer added “But Lord, when you mix them altogether and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. so Lord when things come up that we don’t like, when life gets hard, when we don’t understand what you are saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. it will probably be even better than the biscuits. Amen”

Stay strong my friends, keep on the sunny side, and wait awhile until the mixing is done. Many people in Ontario are “pushing back”, and no longer buying this government’s nonsense.

We have had enough injury to our lives through their incompetence and we will hold ALL public officials, from the PM on down, we will hold them responsible for the criminal negligence of this pandemic.

    • reuters – Leaked EU-Pfizer contract shows price for COVID vaccines set at 15.5 euros per dose

BRUSSELS, April 21 (Reuters) – The European Union is paying 15.5 euros ($18.6) per dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, according to the first contract it signed with the two companies which was leaked on Wednesday to Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.

The price confirms what Reuters has reported in past months. Many media reported instead a lower number based on a document with partial prices briefly published on Twitter by a Belgian politician, who later deleted the tweet. .

The Belgian document, which included prices also for other jabs booked by the EU, fuelled the theory that the EU was facing delays in its vaccine supplies because it had paid too little. That was despite the AstraZeneca contract leaked in February that showed the price for that shot was higher than what was reported in the Belgian document.

Under the leaked contract with Pfizer, the EU agreed to pay on average 15.5 euros for the first 200 million doses. It also agreed to pay the same price for another 100 million optional doses which it ordered within a deadline set in the contract. Beyond that deadline it would have paid 17.5 euros per dose.

The EU in January signed a second contract for another 300 million doses with Pfizer-BioNTech that EU officials said kept the same price as the first contract.

The leaked contract also shows the EU gave Pfizer and BioNTech an upfront payment of 700 million euros in December to secure the first 200 million doses.

The bloc is now negotiating a third contract for a total of 1.8 billion doses with the two companies for 19.5 euros per dose, which would have stricter delivery conditions and the option for the EU to order enhanced vaccines against virus variants.

  12. Columbus police shot and killed a teenage girl who swung at two other people with a knife Tuesday, according to bodycam footage from the officer who fired the shots just minutes before the verdict in George Floyd’s killing was read.

Officials with the Columbus Division of Police showed a segment of the footage Tuesday night just hours after the shooting took place in a neighborhood on the city’s east side. The decision to swiftly release the video was a departure from protocol as the force faces immense scrutiny from the public following a series of recent high-profile police killings that have led to clashes.

The 10-second clip begins with the officer getting out of his car at a house where police had been dispatched after someone called 911 saying they were being physically threatened, Interim Police Chief Michael Woods said at the news conference. The officer takes a few steps toward a group of people in the driveway when the girl, who was Black, starts swinging a knife wildly at another girl or woman, who falls backward. The officer shouts several times to get down.

The girl with the knife then charges at another girl or woman who is pinned against a car.

From a few feet away, with people on either side of him, the officer fires four shots, and the teen slumps to the ground. A black-handled blade similar to a kitchen knife or steak knife lies on the sidewalk next to her.

  14. NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — The Virginia city of Norfolk has fired a police lieutenant after news reports that said he donated to and expressed support for Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager accused of killing two people during a police brutality protest in Wisconsin last summer.

City officials announced Tuesday that police Lt. William Kelly had been “relieved of duty” after an internal investigation.

“His egregious comments erode the trust between the Norfolk Police Department and those they are sworn to serve. The City of Norfolk has a standard of behavior for all employees, and we will hold staff accountable,” City Manager Chip Filer said in a statement.

The development came after news organizations including The Virginian-Pilot reported that they had obtained data from a Christian crowdfunding website that was hacked, apparently showing an initially anonymous $25 donation to Rittenhouse’s legal defense fund was linked to Kelly’s work email address.

According to the newspaper, the donation carried the comment: “God bless. Thank you for your courage. Keep your head up. You’ve done nothing wrong.”

It went on to say, “’Every rank and file police officer supports you.”

  15. A white lecturer at a college in upstate New York is under probe by the school — because she told students she was “sick” of talking about the Black Lives Matter movement.

A video posted to Instagram on Monday was recorded in the fall during a video conference call for a writing course at SUNY Buffalo State College, the Buffalo News reported Tuesday.

“This is me, but speaking honestly, and you guys have to respond honestly with what you think, with what you feel about this,” said the part-time lecturer, identified by a student as Erica Cope. “So am I sick about talking about Black Lives Matter. All right? I said it.”

Student Jahnay Morehead told the newspaper she recorded Cope’s comments during a writing course in the fourth week of the fall semester. She said she contacted the college’s diversity committee weeks later, but didn’t take part in a subsequent Zoom call to address the matter, according to the report.

The remark to a class of predominantly black students was “insensitive” and came as an example of an opinion that would lead Cope to get “canceled,” Morehead said.

“She asked us to share an opinion that might be considered controversial and I guess that was her example,” Morehead told WGRZ. “After she said that, she was kind of trying to change the topic very swiftly. A lot of students was like, ‘Why? Why do you feel this way?’ And she really didn’t want to go into it.”

[Order David Horowitz’s new book: The Enemy Within: How a Totalitarian Movement is Destroying America.]

No one in his right mind could have been surprised by the verdict in the Minneapolis trial of Officer Derek Chauvin for the killing of George Floyd. For 11 straight months cities have been burned, people have been murdered and billions of dollars of property damage have been caused by a national lynch mob determined to be its own judge, jury and executioner.

Headed by Antifa and Black Lives Matter and supported by every so-called “Civil Rights” organization, the Democrat Party and its malignant leadership – Biden, Harris, Pelosi and Schumer, this lynch mob has been on the attack against law enforcement a decade and more. Their threat, No “Justice” No Peace, is a threat that more cities will be attacked, more people will die – perhaps even Chauvin case jurors – if the verdicts they want aren’t delivered. This is a criminal movement with a criminal mission: to substitute its own vigilante justice for America’s justice.

On the eve of the Chauvin trial, the City of Minneapolis gave a $27 million settlement to the family of George Floyd – a career criminal and dangerous drug addict. The alleged crime was the wrongful death of Floyd. The settlement was made in advance of the evidence and of the trial. It was a blatant effort to put the authorities and taxpayers of Minneapolis in the camp of the lynch mob – telling the jury that the only justice lay in absolving Floyd of any complicity in his own death and the mayhem that followed.

  18. Astroturfing COVID Agitprop – The Conservative Insider
    by: Michelle Malkin
    5-7 minutes

Attention, parents: If your children are online, they are being bombarded by an inescapable public relations campaign by all the Bigs — Big Pharma, Big Government and Big Tech — to brainwash them about the COVID vaccine.

While children under 18 remain at the lowest risk of COVID-19, peer pressure to get the experimental jabs is enormous. That groupthink is compounded by relentless messaging from politicians, celebrities and social media influencers posting virtue-signaling photos of themselves flaunting their arm Band-Aids and immunization papers. The playing field is rigged by internet titans who ban all dissenters and label all skepticism as “misinformation” or “conspiracy theory.” It’s mass agitation and propaganda — agitatsiya — that would make the old Soviet Marxists proud.

The 21st-century twist is that Silicon Valley, Fortune 500 corporations and their nonprofit organs are pouring gobs of money to manufacture support for the public-private COVID vax regime. The Ad Council alone — backed by major companies including Facebook, Google, NBC Universal, GM, Verizon, Walgreens, Walmart, Amazon, Apple and CBS/Viacom — has earmarked $50 million “to persuade skeptics to believe in coronavirus vaccines.” The businesses and public relations agencies work closely with the Biden administration’s U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on crafting Big Brother-approved content.

While many large banks, insurers and asset managers have started to commit to some form of action, the frameworks used can differ and some are not rooted in climate science or backed up by interim targets between now and 2050.

“This is the breakthrough in mainstreaming climate finance the world needs,” Carney said in a statement.

    • Merkel welcomes deal on new EU climate change law at EPP event

German Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed the deal reached on the European Climate Law in the early hours of Wednesday, during an online discussion event on the future of Europe organised by the European People’s Party (EPP), later on the same day.

Merkel said that the deal would allow member states to attend US President Joe Biden’s climate summit that is set to take place on Thursday with a ‘good and clear European position.’

Regarding COVID-19 vaccines, she defended the EU’s position of ordering vaccines together. The chancellor also underlined that “Israel would not have been vaccinated if Europe had not had the ability to export to them.”

Merkel also criticised some EU members for using Chinese and Russian vaccines without first waiting for them to obtain approval by the European Medicines Agency.

Turning to domestic politics, Merkel said that the newly chosen chancellor candidate of her conservative bloc, Armin Laschet, “has always been very interested in the European idea,” but said that she didn’t wish “to get involved because I’ve seen too many predecessors who have tried that in certain positions.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “Let’s take the issue of climate protection, which is not always easy and demands a lot from many member states. When I see the strong dependence Poland has on coal production and the different opinions on the use of nuclear energy in the European member states, but yesterday evening managed to achieve a result in trialogue after all. Thank you very much to the Parliament, Manfred. We will be go to the climate summit tomorrow of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, with a good and clear European position: climate neutrality by 2050, 55 percent reduction by 2030, we can be seen by the world, and that’s a great thing that will now underpin European values.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “It was absolutely right that Europe ordered vaccines together again experience now if we do not deliver vaccines all over the world, then we will always get new mutations and have no joy in our own lives, and I can now imagine that there are some countries within the European Union that may also have their production. We have BioNTech. We now have our plant in Marburg, and I have been told, alright, we will do the distribution for the United States of America.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “And the cooperation with large corporations such as BioNTech with Pfizer, for example, might also have been a European partner, it could have become a little easier. We could only depend on our European capacities, and you must be able to say that Israel would not have been vaccinated if Europe had not had the ability to export to them.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany (German): “And in other areas, we do not project such a good picture if, for example, now I see that some member states are using the Chinese or Russian vaccine without approval from the European Medical Agency (EMA). I don’t think that is so good, and wherever we do not speak united with one voice, we won’t be able to perform strongly either, and that’s what I would like, of course.”

SOT, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor (German): “I’m not starting to get involved because I’ve seen too many predecessors who have tried that in certain positions, that has not come to be, those who stay out of the extension of their own successors, I believe, but it is undisputed that Armin Laschet, who has always been very interested in the European idea.”

  20. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A federal judge overseeing a sweeping lawsuit about homelessness in Los Angeles on Tuesday ordered the city and county to find shelter for all unhoused residents of Skid Row within 180 days and audit any spending related to the out-of-control crisis of people living on the streets.

In a fiery 110-page order, Judge David O. Carter slammed officials’ inability to restrain the unprecedented growth of homelessness that has seen encampments spread into nearly every neighborhood in the region.

“All of the rhetoric, promises, plans, and budgeting cannot obscure the shameful reality of this crisis — that year after year, there are more homeless Angelenos, and year after year, more homeless Angelenos die on the streets,” Carter wrote in granting a preliminary injunction sought by the plaintiffs last week.

The judge’s filing was made a day after Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti vowed to spend nearly $1 billion in the coming year to get people off the streets. Carter on Tuesday ordered “that $1 billion, as represented by Mayor Garcetti, will be placed in escrow,” with a spending plan “accounted for and reported to the Court within seven days.”

The Biden administration is urging the Supreme Court not to hear a constitutional challenge to the men-only draft registration system, but female Selective Service registration is still a possibility.

The Justice Department told the High Court on Thursday that judicial action is unnecessary because Congress is actively considering whether to change draft registration rules. The National Coalition for Men and the ACLU say the Military Selective Service Act is unconstitutional because it discriminates against women, and they asked the justices to say as much in January.

  22. Biden Moves To Force Doctors To Perform Transgender Surgeries Against Objections

President Joe Biden on Tuesday filed an appeal seeking to force doctors and hospitals to perform potentially harmful transgender-related procedures and surgeries even if they hold objections.

As outlined by BECKET Law’s Luke Goodrich, a court in January struck down the administration’s move to punish doctors who don’t perform transgender-related procedures for supposed “sex discrimination.” Biden on Tuesday officially appealed the ruling.

“The plaintiffs are religious doctors, hospitals, and clinics who joyfully serve ALL patients regardless of sex or gender identity. They routinely provide top-notch care to transgender patients for everything from cancer to the common cold,” Goodrich outlined Tuesday. “They also provide millions of dollars in free and low-cost care to the elderly, poor, and underserved–care that is jeopardized by the government’s attempt to punish them with multi-million dollar penalties.”

And now there’s this chilling but only temporary Facebook account of what happened to Canadian citizen, Virginia Pollock at Vancouver International Airport:

“I got home to Canada yesterday. I must tell you about the fresh hell I walked into after arriving in the Vancouver British Columbia Airport.

“Our airplane flew into Vancouver from Seattle and we were immediately made to walk in a single file. There were no more than 30 of us. The airport was totally empty like a huge tomb. There were absolutely no people in offices or stores. There was a chilling effect to this great emptiness and quiet.
