Greece intends to increase its military spending to EUR5.5 billion this year, five times the amount spent in 2020, according to the French press.
Athens decided to purchase 18 Rafale aircraft from France, amid the ongoing tension with Turkey over energy resources in the southeastern Mediterranean.
Under the contract, six new Rafale aircraft will be purchased from the manufacturer, “Dassault Aviation,” whose deliveries are to begin in 2022.
Athens, which wants to obtain without delay aircraft that guarantee its air superiority in the Aegean Sea, has also bought 12 used aircraft from Paris and will receive them from the stock of the French Air Force.
The contract, worth EUR 2.5 billion, includes 12 used aircraft and six new aircraft with their weapons. Negotiations on the contract took a record time between the two governments, and the Greek parliament approved it in mid-January.
French Minister of Armed Forces Florence Parly will travel to Athens on Monday to sign the contract to sell the 18 Rafale fighter jets to Greece.
2. Would you say this is more Soviet, or American left condescending?
which is clearly proof that the public can't be allowed to know

3. In this 15 word tweet we learn the answer to MUCH of the ills that beset Western Civilization in the past several decades.
Why can we not call it Wuhan flu but we can call it UK variant?

(Although this is from December 12, 2020, it still shows that facts, science and medicine have little to do with policy.)
On Thursday, 114 schools were abruptly ordered shut in the Windsor-Essex region of Ontario by the area’s chief medical officer. School boards were caught off guard by the announcement, which has pushed over 56,000 students into online learning until at least the beginning of January.
“The health and safety of students and staff remains a priority for the [Windsor-Essex County Health Unit],” reads the news release. “This action is being taken in an effort to keep our community safe and prevent further spread of COVID-19.”
News like this causes parents to panic and feeds into the notion that the danger posed by COVID-19 in schools is greater than it appears. But is it? While Windsor-Essex is seeing increased community spread, officials offered no proof that the schools were a specific trouble spot.
That could be because officials have no such proof. And not just for that part of Ontario, but for many countries around the world. If anything, the facts show the opposite – that COVID-19 is not a problem in our schools.
5. The following claim has appeared in many places in the last 24 hours or so.
FOX News host Steve Hilton opened his Sunday night show with startling development on the origins of the coronavirus.
Hilton discussed the Gain-of-Function research that helps define the fundamental nature of human-pathogen interactions. One of the greatest laboratories researching Gain-of-Function science was the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China.
Gain-of-Function research is highly controversial. In 2014 the Obama Administration cut funding to the risky biological study. The government made the decision following biosafety incidents at federal research laboratories.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the Obama administration later gave $3.7 million to the Wuhan Institute of Virology after the US program was shut down.
