Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    “French police are investigating a far-left Antifa extremist after he praised the Nigerian Islamist terror group Boko Haram.

    Luc B., a member of the ultra-left “Young Guard Lyon” group, had repeatedly praised Boko Haram on social media before deleting his Instagram account.

    Considered a leader of the Antifa movement in Lyon, Luc B. also reportedly mocked the murder of teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded in the street in October for showing his class cartoons of the Islamic prophet Mohammed during a lesson on free speech.

    According to a report from the French magazine LyonMag, the local prosecutor has opened an investigation into the far-left extremist for an apology for terrorism.

    The magazine also noted that members of the Young Guard were welcomed to an event at the city hall of Lyon’s 1st arrondissement in February of last year on the topic of combatting far-right extremism in the city.

    The investigation comes just weeks after a group of seven anarchist Antifa extremists were indicted in Paris for forming a terrorist group with the intent of plotting an attack on police officers or soldiers.

    One of the members of the group, a 36-year-old man named Florian D., is said to have travelled to Syria where he fought alongside Kurdish forces during their battles against Islamic State.

    Florian D. returned to France in 2018, the same year a group of Antifa militants in Afrin, Syria, declared that they would take up arms against the French state in response to the eviction of anarchist squatters.

    Last year in Paris, investigators raided a squat that was believed to be the headquarters of Antifa in Paris and claimed it had been used by the extremist group to manufacture explosive devices.”

Ontario, Canada: Doug Ford is in disbelief (sure he is) that the Feds plan to roll out the Covid-19 vaccine to “dangerous criminals” in federal prisons before long term home residents and health workers. According to Union of Canadian Correctional Officers, the initial roll out is for 600 inmates to receive two full doses of the vaccine to keep them safe.

      • Apart from my close-monitoring by phone and ability to resource, there is not much to do but let their bodies do their work. Medical assistance is on hand if distress occurs.

        And hopefully will provide an anecdote regarding recovery methods.

    “DONALD TRUMP has been issued an arrest warrant by an Iraqi court after being accused of premeditated murder – a crime punishable by the death penalty in the Middle East state.

    The warrant was issued in relation to the killing of Iranian military general Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis last year.

    The arrest warrant was issued today by a court in Baghdad. He has been accused of premeditated murder, which carries the death penalty in Iraq.

    The move follows a day of chaos in Washington when Trump’s supporters stormed the US Capitol in protest of the imminent election result confirmation.

    Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council said they issued the warrant after “the judge recorded the statements of the claimants from the family of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis”.

    The scumbag crooks got what they wanted. They’ve gone from sabotaging guttersnipes to being the people in charge. Now all they have to do is pacify the 75 million people who saw through them, and keep the millions of sheep they suckered who will very quickly become suspicious once their rose-coloured glasses are slapped off their faces by Joe and Camal-a. And let’s not forget about the Marxist radicals who cannot be controlled and who hate competing factions even more than PT supporters. The accountability we had hoped would be reckoned with the PT win isn’t over, but has changed. It will be amped-up by pissed-off conservatives who know they are victims of a huge crime, and they will make the lives of elected officials and government water boys hell. We are witnessing two tectonic plates pulling apart, and in the crevice between perishes every ounce of conservative trust.

  12. The Kremlin, FSB, and the ‘Berlin patient’s’ underpants

    Vladimir Putin has used the FSB’s aura of efficiency and brutality to threaten regime opponents with kompromat, exile, poisoning, or a bullet to the head. The Aug. 20 botched assassination of opposition leader Aleksei Navalny and the embarrassing unraveling of the Kremlin’s narrative thereafter have turned the FSB into a laughingstock as memes belittling Putin and his FSB circulate on social media.

    As of Dec. 17, however, it looked as if the Kremlin would ride out the Navalny poisoning largely unscathed. Putin, in his four-hour Direct Line press conference (37,000 word transcript), showed no signs of his rumored Parkinson’s disease as he declared that “ensuring national stability and development” may require another term in 2024.

    Direct Line offered a friendly platform to reject the call for an investigation of the Navalny poisoning as Putin asked rhetorically: “Who cares about him, anyway?” Continuing his avoidance of Navalny’s name, Putin issued no direct denial of Kremlin involvement in the poisoning of the “Berlin patient.” Putin shrugged off the exhaustive Dec. 15 investigative report that placed FSB’s assassins at the scene of the poisoning operation. According to Putin, no big deal. The FSB must keep track of troublemakers like the “Berlin patient,” who clearly “have the support of the (U.S.) special services.” This fake assassination is “a trick to attack our people at the top,” he claimed.

    Unbeknownst to Putin, three days earlier, the “Berlin patient” waked purported assassination-team member, Konstantin Kudryavtsev (“Konstantin”), with a 7 a.m. telephone call using a fake FSB caller-ID. Navalny, playing a harried assistant, informed Konstantin ominously that the director of the National Security Council that manages the FSB, Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev, was demanding a report on why the operation failed. Navalny’s subtle message to Konstantin: Heads are going to roll… Here is your chance to protect yourself; stop worrying that the call is not on a secure line.

    By cajoling, pleading, and calling for understanding, Navalny kept his would-be assassin on the line for 49 minutes as Konstantin loosened up on what “went wrong” with the operation: Navalny’s plane landed too soon; just a little longer (chut’ dol’she) and he would have been dead. The paramedics were not clued in. They injected him with a life-saving antidote. The Novichek dose was correctly calculated, but there are “many nuances” in such an operation.

    Konstantin’s most telling revelation: The squad laced the poison into the seams of Navalny’s blue underpants.

    As the squad’s chemical weapons specialist, Konstantin’s job was to remove any traces of poison from Navalny’s underwear confiscated at the Omsk hospital.

    Navalny made a videotape of his conversation with Konstantin. It shows his supporters listening tensely and exchanging virtual thumbs-up as they realized that Navalny had recorded a confession from his own intended assassin.

    Navalny delayed release of the recording until after Putin’s Direct Line marathon. Navalny’s YouTube video went viral, attracting over a million viewers within hours. The Kremlin was caught flatfooted with Putin’s spokesperson sputtering that there was no poisoning, the “Berlin patient” suffers from megalomania, and remember that the FSB protects the Russian people from terrorism. As to the assassination team, a CNN reporter banged on the door of a squad member demanding interviews. Crowds formed outside Konstantin’s apartment building. Arrests were made for disturbing the peace. Demonstrators stood on Moscow street corners holding blue underwear.

    While Kremlin media ignored the circus atmosphere, Russian social media erupted in salvos of satire, sarcasm, and political hilarity, centering mainly on the “Berlin patient’s” blue underwear.

    In Russia, the old police saying “You should report to us after you have been murdered” has become: “After you have been murdered, you should solve the case yourself.”

    Putin: I agree. The matter of Navalny’s underpants is national security issue number one.

    Prior to the underwear fiasco, the Kremlin had successfully marginalized Navalny by depicting him as crooked, as a Western agent, a blowhard, swindler, publicity fanatic, and a generally disruptive figure. Navalny’s attempted poisoning has brought him out of the shadows. Some 80 percent of Russians have heard about the Navalny poisoning, although it has been ignored by Kremlin media. His approval rating has risen from 9 to 20 percent, and he is now Russia’s fourth most respected figure.

    Russian pollsters divide the Russian population into “dependent” on the regime — pensioners, state employees, military — and “independent” of the state. The first group tends to be elderly and obtains news through the nightly TV broadcast. They constitute the core of Putin’s supporters. The “independent” are younger and get their information from social media.

    Public opinion polls taken after Navalny’s poisoning show the huge cleft between Russia’s “young” and “old:” Two thirds of the “old” accept the Kremlin’s narrative that the poisoning was either staged or carried out by Western intelligence. More than half of the “young” believe that the poisoning was to remove a political opponent or ordered by some corrupt official or oligarch.

    The Putin regime differs dramatically from China in its tolerance of criticism. The Kremlin allows low-circulation outlets, the best-known being TV-Rain and Ekho Moskvy. Social media is largely left alone. As long as the small opposition media do not exceed certain limits or encroach on Putin’s core supporters, they will not be silenced. So far, news of the Navalny poisoning has not eroded support of Russia’s “old” media consumers.

    As ex-KGB, Putin knows that his predecessor, Joseph Stalin, would have punished jokes that made fun of him and his regime with the Gulag or execution. So far, Putin has tolerated social-media merry-making at his expense, but can he allow his ultimate “power ministry” — the FSB — to be portrayed as the gang that couldn’t shoot straight?

    Sergey Guriev, a seasoned observer of the Russian scene, maintains that the Navalny poisoning should remove any last doubts about the Kremlin’s routine use of political murder as an instrument of state policy. Navalny was scheduled to follow Boris Nemtsov, Anna Politkovskaya, Alexander Litvinenko, and many others to their early graves. Prior to Navalny, Putin and his Kremlin allies could always blame sinister false flag operations, lone mavericks, or ethnic gangs for these murders. With an exposed assassination squad, aided by military weapons labs and transportation coordinated by transport police, it would strain credulity to argue that the Navalny poisoning was not an operation of the Kremlin itself.

    No problem for Putin as long as his base of elderlies and his billionaire oligarchs stick with him.

    So far, two thirds of his supporters seem to accept his bizarre narrative that the Navalny poisoning never occurred or, if it did, was carried out by the CIA.

    Multiple reports surfaced late on Wednesday evening stating that members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet have reportedly started discussing the possibility of using the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office following the violence that broke out today in Washington, D.C., after a rally that the president held ahead of the Electoral College certification.

    Both CBS News and ABC News reported that the cabinet secretaries had started talking about the idea, although no plan had yet been formally presented to Vice President Mike Pence.

    The House Judiciary Committee, controlled by the Democrat Party, called on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.

      Small, fringe sources will give us a more accurate picture, but they’re not all that trustworthy either. Wishful thinking and confirmation bias, we’ll hold on in our own echo chamber.

      • Brad Johnson has said that a bunch of trained people are organizing, he said that in a couple of his videos but isn’t making a big deal out of it because that would alert the opposition. Once they start moving they will show the organization, until then they won’t talk or show what they are doing.

      • First who is talking about a disorganized rabble? There are a lot of highly trained people who know the need for organization, discipline and training. They are also not going to make the details public or even the fact that they are organizing until it becomes necessary. If I could hang out at the VA and talk to the people there I would learn a little but not much these are people who know what operational security means.

      • Who said they were going to be disorganized? There are several ways for them to organize,

        1) The fraternal organizations of the elite military groups, these groups are tight knit and all are well trained and know the need for organization. Since we are talking about an asymmetric war you wouldn’t want large groups.

        2) The neighborhood defense groups that are forming in the suburbs. These groups are loosely organized but are capable of being better organized in a short amount of time.

        3) The Gun Clubs all of which have a solid core of military or police vets who are capable of organizing in a short time.

        4) The hunting and fishing clubs once again a solid core of military and police vets.

        As I said in the earlier post the people who will be organizing know the need for operational security.

        Plus how many of the Guard Units are going to obey orders to attack groups containing their friends, neighbors and relatives? How many will accept orders to go to another State to fight when they know the other State will be sending troops to attack their friends, neighbors and relatives?

          All I see in conservative posts is bravado: “nothing to lose”; “we got guns and ammo”.

          That’s nonsense.
          It’s just the opposite. We’ve got everything to GAIN, we can ONLY gain – if we’re smart.

          Most read our MSM, but the ones who matter also read what we’re writing to each other.

          They’re sensitized to cowboy-talk. That’s loser-talk. Especially given how passive we’ve been till now. Spellbound by “PTrump the Anointed”, 4-D chess, and “he’s got this”.

          We knew he was surrounded by enemies, so we bent over backwards to sound supportive. We didn’t even try to give him constructive criticism. We should’ve, could’ve, but that’s that.

    Two objections triggered a vote during the joint session of Congress, which spilled into the early hours of Thursday before Joe Biden was certified as president-elect.

    Objections require support from at least one member of each chamber. The objections that received support were to electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania.

    Both objections failed to get a simple majority in either chamber.

    Protesters rioted against the certification of the election results

    An explosive device was found at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee as the U.S. Capitol was under attack by rioters angry at Congress attempting to affirm the results of the presidential election.

    POLL: Did the results of the Georgia election surprise you?

    An RNC official told the New York Times that the explosive device was identified as a pipe bomb, and it was successfully destroyed by the bomb squad.

    Other suspicious packages were reported as the protests unfolded in the nation’s capital. One was discovered at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee, and was being investigated. Another was reportedly found on the U.S. Capitol grounds.

    The DNC was evacuated as a precaution while law enforcement officials tried to identify whether the suspicious package was also an explosive device.

    M-103 has been accused of singling out Muslim for special treatment.

    Dozens of migrants have tried to cover several hundred kilometers between the African continent and the Canary Islands this year as well.     Police in Washington D.C. confirmed late on Wednesday that explosives were located near the U.S. Capitol in the midst of protests and as people stormed the complex.

    D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department said it recovered a pipe bomb from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and another one from the Republican National Committee (RNC), said Chief Robert Contee in a press conference.

    Molotov cocktails were also found in a vehicle on the Capitol grounds, Contee said.

    The FBI confirmed that two explosive devices were found.

    “Two suspected explosive devices were rendered safe by the FBI and our law enforcement partners. The investigation is ongoing,” the agency told The Epoch Times.

    Earlier, the FBI said, “Along with our law enforcement partners, FBI Washington Field Office responded to reports of suspicious devices. The investigation is ongoing … The FBI has been deployed to assist our U.S. Capitol Police partners as requested in protection of federal property and public safety.”
