Reader’s Links for November 6, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • Hillary was ahead by 20, 15, 15, 22, 10…..well that is what “they”, the collaborators, the masters of spin, the seed planters, the liberal liars told us.

  1. A Rant! Good one too…..

“I am more offended by how ham fisted, clumsy, and audacious the fraud to elect him is than the idea of Joe Biden being president. I think Joe Biden is a corrupt idiot, however, I think America would survive him like we’ve survived previous idiot administrations. However, what is potentially fatal for America is half the populace believing that their elections are hopelessly rigged and they’re eternally fucked. And now, however this shakes out in court, that’s exactly what half the country is going to think.

People are pissed off, and rightfully so.”

    • If Biden can steal the vote with obvious corruption and cheating, then it means by definition that America did not survive.

    • MarcusZ I hope you can invest in a large hard drive and start downloading and preserving everything of value. I have been doing that for years but more people have to do it. Even if you don’t restore them right away, at least download them and keep them organized so you can find ways of propagating them as needs be.

Most likely through P2P systems, Pirate Bay or what not. But maybe through a link you can publish that allows a download. But please keep doing it.

  2. We’ve all seen Joe Biden on video extorting the Ukrainian government by threatening to withhold US aid if they didn’t immediately fire the prosecutor who was looking into the Ukrainian gas company in which Biden’s son, Hunter, held an $80,000-a-month no-show job. That’s exactly what they tried to impeach Trump for except Biden is actually guilty. The fact that Joe has not been prosecuted for corruption is proof that the “deep state” is entirely in the tank for the Democrats and cannot be trusted at any level.

Add that to all the ridiculous “defund the police, tear down the statue” positions that the Dems take and the fact that Biden is clearly doddering and then try to tell me that record numbers of Democrat voters flooded the polls and elected Joe Biden by a greater margin than Barack Obama? I’m sorry, but I just don’t believe it. There must be a hundred ways to rig election results, especially with the cooperation of the election officials, and I think we can say with certainty that at least one of those hundred ways has been used.

This should have been like Brexit and 2016 judging by the enthusiasm at the Trump rallies and the apathy at the Biden rallies. There’s just no way the incredible “voter-enthusiasm” we have just witnessed actually happened at all…

    • Davos, George Soros vowed Trump would not win in 2020. The Globalist are hardball players. Obama never had the guts to draw a line in the sand, Trump does.

  3. Macron mentions the link between immigration and terrorism, the end of a taboo? And maybe beginning of the end of the Schengen zone. Or a rebirth?

  4. Austria: Right-wing protesters gather in Vienna days after attack

Dozens of right-wing protesters held a rally in Vienna on Thursday to protest against Islamic extremism and “population exchange” after the deadly attack.

A counter protest took place in the same area supervised by dozens of police officers.

The right-wing protesters held torches and Austrian flags as a spokesperson on stage was heard saying, “Home, freedom, tradition.”

The counter protesters chanted slogans from the other side of the square such as “anti-fascist” and “international solidarity,” while holding a banner reading, “Never let the fascists have the streets. Prevent Nazi march on 11 June.”

    • Austria shuts mosques frequented by Vienna attacker

VIENNA — Austria has closed a mosque and an Islamic association frequented by a man who shot four people dead in a rampage through Vienna on Monday, Integration Minister Susanne Raab said on Friday.

The two sites had contributed to the attacker’s radicalisation, she told a news conference.

The 20-year-old convicted jihadist was shot dead by police within minutes of opening fire on bystanders and bars. He was later identified as Kujtim Fejzulai, a native of Vienna.

Police in Germany on Friday searched homes and businesses linked to four people believed to have had ties to the shooter, whom Austrian authorities have described as an “Islamist terrorist.”

People from Germany who were being monitored by German intelligence spent time with the attacker in the Austrian capital in the summer, Vienna police chief Gerhard Puerstl told the news conference.

That information, combined with intelligence from Slovakia that the attacker had tried to buy ammunition there, could have led to a “different outcome” and a different assessment of the threat he posed, Puerstl said.

Austria to shut ‘radical’ mosques after Vienna attack

The Austrian government will order the closure of “radical” mosques in the wake of a deadly jihadist shooting in the capital Vienna earlier this week, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.

A Ministry spokesman said more details would soon be given at a press conference with Interior Minister Karl Nehammer and Integration Minister Susanne Raab.

A statement from the officially recognised Islamic Religious Community of Austria said that in “discussion with the relevant authorities, we are closing one mosque”.

The statement said the mosque was being shut after information came to light that it had broken rules over “religious doctrine and its constitution”, as well as national legislation governing Islamic institutions.

Also on Friday the Vienna prosecutor’s department told AFP that six of the 16 people detained since the attack have been released, with the rest remaining in custody as the probe into the attacker’s circle continues.

The suspected gunman, dual Austrian-Macedonian national Fejzulai, had previously been convicted for trying to join the Islamic State group in Syria.

    • Germany: Police raid apartments in Lower Saxony as part of Vienna shooting probe

Police raided the apartments and business premises of two people in the German city of Osnabruck in Lower Saxony on Friday. The operation was linked with the investigation into the deadly attack in Vienna on Monday.

Officers were seen guarding the entrance to the building, while some people were allowed to enter and leave.

In addition to the raid in Osnabruck, police also checked the the rooms of two other men in Kreis Pinneberg in Schleswig-Holstein and Kassel in Hesse. Nobody was arrested during, according to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.

The police said that the four men have been in direct or indirect contact with the Vienna gunman. Two of the men – one from Osnabruck and one from Kassel – are said to have met the attacker in Vienna between July 16 and 20. The third man is said to have been in online contact with him, while the fourth is said to have communicated with his contacts online.

  5. the gateway pundit – Decision Desk HQ announced just before 9 a.m. that “Joe Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States of America.”

The announcement came after they called Pennsylvania for Biden, putting their electoral vote total for the creepy candidate at 273.

Biden took a lead of 5,587 votes in PA on Friday morning after thousands of mail-in ballots were counted.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has not been as hasty about declaring Biden the winner, noting that the race still hinges on several battleground states.

President Donald Trump has said that he will not concede if Biden and the media declare victory, according to reports.

“The closure of radical mosques after the Vienna attack is not an attack on religion, but a fight against extremism, Austrian Integration Minister Susanne Raab said on Friday.

“It is important for me to note the following: this is not an attack on religion, but a fight against extremism. This is not an attack on members of a religious community, but a common fight against the abuse of religion for the purpose of radicalization,” Raab said at a press conference.

Earlier in the day, Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer and Integration Minister Susanne Raab stated as quoted by APA news agency that all the so-called radical mosques across the country would be closed in the wake of the recent deadly terrorist attacks in Vienna.

According to the news agency, the decision was made following a meeting with the head of the Islamic religious community in Austria, Umit Vural. In particular, these mosques will be deprived of legal status and dissolved…”

  7. Over Half of Young French Muslims Prefer Sharia Law to Laws of French Republic, Poll Finds (sputniknews, Nov 6, 2020)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/202011061081059347-over-half-of-young-french-muslims-prefer-sharia-law-to-laws-of-french-republic-poll-finds/

“French President Emmanuel Macron stepped up efforts to combat Islamist ideology in recent weeks in the wake of a series of terrorist attacks across multiple French cities. This week, responding to criticism from a UK paper that his efforts might “stigmatize” France’s Muslim community, Macron stressed that his gripe was with Islamism, not Islam.

Over half of French Muslims under the age of 25 believe that Sharia law is more important than French law, fresh polling by the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP) has found.

According to the institute, 57 percent of its sample French Muslims under 25 put Sharia law above the laws of the French Republic, with the figure said to have risen by 10 points from 47 percent in 2016. By comparison, only 15 percent of self-identified French Catholics believe the rules of their religion should come ahead of the state’s laws.
Young Muslims also appear to be more religious than French Muslims generally. When the latter were taken into account, only 38 percent expressed support for the idea of the superiority of Sharia law.

66 percent of French Muslims also expressed opposition to teachers showing caricatures of religious figures to their pupils, while 80 percent of Catholics supporting teachers’ right to do so. 44 percent of Muslims supported the prohibiting of religious symbols in public educational institutions.

Muslims and Catholics also divided in their views on the idea of separate hours for women in public swimming pools, with 81 percent of Muslims and about 20 percent of Catholics expressing support for the idea. 82 percent of Muslims also expressed support for the study of Arabic in schools, with 18 percent of Catholics approving the idea.

Only 34 percent of Muslims supported the dissolution of the Collectif contre l’islamophobie en France and Baraka City, an NGO and charity dissolved by presidential decree for its suspected proximity to radical Islamist and Salafist circles. Prior to its dissolution, Baraka City formally described itself as a “humanitarian and charitable association based on Islamic values” assisting Muslims both in France and abroad. 76 percent of the total of respondents polled by IFOP expressed support for Baraka City’s banning, with 65 percent supporting the dissolution of the CCIF.

The survey’s sample size consisted of 2,034 respondents over the age of 15, including 515 Muslims and 1,000 Catholics.

France is estimated to have about 5.7 million Muslims, who account for about 9 percent of the country’s total population.

Commenting on the poll’s results, Jean-Pierre Sakoun, president of the Secular Republican Committee, an association promoting secularism in the French public debate, said the survey “confirms what we already knew, [that] the demand for a particular status with particular rights is progressing strongly among French Muslims, especially among young people who favour a communitarian model.”

According to Sakoun, the results show that French institutions, including schools, “are struggling to assert the qualities of secularism in terms of civil peace, collective freedom and individual emancipation.”…”

  10. Australia accuses head of Chinese group of foreign meddling (abcnews, Nov 6, 2020)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/man-charged-australian-foreign-interference-law-74033964

“The leader of a Chinese community organization has become the first person to be charged under Australia’s foreign interference laws that were passed two years ago, police said Thursday.

Di Sanh Duong, 65, has a relationship with a foreign intelligence agency, an Australian Federal Police statement said. Police would not name the country or detail the allegation, but the legislation largely targets China’s growing influence.

The charge comes amid growing discord between the two nations. This week, China stepped up trade restrictions against Australia.

Duong was charged Thursday in the Melbourne Magistrates Court with preparing for a foreign interference offense, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. He was released on bail to appear in court again in March and could not immediately be contacted for comment.

Duong is president of the Oceania Federation of Chinese Organisations, a global group for Chinese people from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and deputy chairman of the Museum of Chinese Australian History in Melbourne. He was a candidate for the conservative Liberal Party in the 1996 Victoria state election.

The charge followed a yearlong investigation by the Counter Foreign Interference Task Force, led by the Australian Security Intelligence Organization, the nation’s domestic spy agency, and federal police, the statement said.

“The CFI Task Force has taken preventative action to disrupt this individual at an early stage,” police Deputy Commissioner Ian McCartney said.

“Foreign interference is contrary to Australia’s national interest, it goes to the heart of our democracy,” he said. “It is corrupting and deceptive, and goes beyond routine diplomatic influence practiced by governments.”

Australia passed laws in 2018 that ban covert foreign interference in domestic politics and make industrial espionage for a foreign power a crime. The laws offended the nation’s most important trading partner, China.

This week, the Chinese Communist Party-controlled Global Times reported that China had asked traders to stop buying at least seven categories of Australian products: coal, barley, copper ore and concentrate, sugar, timber, wine and lobsters.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said this week that he hoped Australia would do more to “bring relations back to the right track as early as possible.””

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/11/06/greece-arrests-islamic-state-migrant-helped-pro-migrant-ngos/

“Police have arrested a migrant from Tajikistan, wanted for being a member of Islamic State, who had been living in Greece for three years in a house given to him by an NGO.

The 27-year-old had been living in the Greek city of Tripoli where he had been helped by NGOs, although there is no evidence the groups knew his extremist background.

According to a report from Greek newspaper Proto Thema, the man was living in Tripoli with his wife and children. His wife is allegedly a known dissident in their native Tajikistan. The man was wanted on an international arrest warrant.

He was arrested at random during a police check outside of the city, where police discovered he had been “red-flagged” and was wanted internationally. The local prosecutor and Greece’s counter-terrorism service are examining the case.

According to Kathimerini, Tajikistan authorities consider him a high-ranking Islamic State official. The migrant claims, however, that his wife is the sister of the opposition leader in their home country, and that the warrant was issued against him for political reasons.

He arrived in Greece in 2017 after travelling through Turkey and landing on the Aegean island of Lesbos, where he registered at the notorious Moria camp which was burned down by some of its migrant residents in September.

The arrest is just the latest to see a suspected member of Islamic State taken into custody after coming to Europe as an asylum seeker…”

  13. Macron: Parts of France Are ‘Breeding Grounds’ for Terrorists (breitbart, Nov 6, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/11/06/macron-parts-france-are-breeding-grounds-terrorists/

“French president Emmanuel Macron has said there are “breeding grounds for terrorists in France”, in his latest remarks regarding Islamist ideology following two terror attacks in his nation.

Writing in the Financial Times, the centrist French premier said that while France is not fighting against Islam, it is battling “Islamist separatism”, which is antithetical to the secular values of the French Republic.

Mr Macron remarked that since 2015, it was “clear” that “there are breeding grounds for terrorists in France”.

He continued: “In certain districts and on the internet, groups linked to radical Islam are teaching hatred of the Republic to our children, calling on them to disregard its laws.

“That is what I called ‘separatism’ in one of my speeches. If you do not believe me, read the social media postings of hatred shared in the name of a distorted Islam that resulted in Paty’s death.

“Visit the districts where small girls aged three or four are wearing a full veil, separated from boys, and, from a very young age, separated from the rest of society, raised in hatred of France’s values.

“Speak to government prefects who are confronted on the ground with hundreds of radicalised individuals, who we fear may, at any moment, take a knife and kill people.”

The French President made the remarks after Chechen refugee and Islamic extremist Abdoulakh Anzorov murdered and beheaded teacher Samuel Paty last month. Anzorov committed the attack because the teacher had shown his class Charlie Hebdo cartoons of the Muslim prophet, Mohammed, during a lesson on freedom of expression.

Subsequently, a Tunisian migrant who had not long been in France, Brahim Aouissaoui, killed three in a knife attack on the grounds of a church in Nice while shouting “Allah hu Akbar” ([my] god is greater [than yours]). One woman was almost beheaded near the font.

Macron was swift in defending French secularism and the right of freedom of expression, sparking protests across the Muslim world, threats by Al-Qaeda, and death threats against teachers and other officials in France.

After the beheading of Mr Paty, Macron began shutting down Islamist associations, and even closed a mosque in Pantin which shared on social media the fatwa call against the teacher before his murder. French police also investigated dozens of people who expressed support for Anzorov and the killing of Paty, including children as young as 12, resulting in a number of convictions and imprisonments.

Interior Minister Gérard Darmanin also said in the wake of Mr Paty’s killing: “It is easy to see how political Islam joins radical Islam and ultimately leads to terrorism.”

“We must fight political Islam with the same force as terrorism,” he added.

Darmanin is not the only political figure to invoke “political Islam”, which author Ayaan Hirsi Ali describes as “a political ideology”.

“Political Islam rejects any kind of distinction between religion and politics, mosque and state. Political Islam even rejects the modern state in favour of a caliphate,” Ms Ali wrote in 2017. She added that for those reasons, political Islam is “fundamentally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and with the ‘constitution of liberty’ that is the foundation of the American way of life” — and by extension, incompatible with any Western democracy.

In the wake of Monday’s Islamist terror attack in Vienna, committed by ethnic Albanian Kujtim Fejzulai, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said this week that Europe must “fight resolutely” against “political Islam”, the “ideological basis” behind Islamist terrorism.

Noting that he has been in contact with President Macron, he said that the EU must do “much more” to fight political Islam.

“I expect an end to misunderstood tolerance and finally an awareness in all the countries of Europe about how dangerous the ideology of political Islam is to our freedom and to the European way of life,” Chancellor Kurz said.”

“Iran’s representative at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly decried a recent surge in hate-mongering speeches by the Western politicians as a serious threat to human rights.

Addressing a virtual meeting of the UN committee on Thursday evening, Mohammad Zare’ian expressed concern about the hateful remarks recently made by politicians in the West.

The Islamic Republic fully believes in freedom of speech but not the sort that incites hatred against others, he emphasized.

“Muslims, migrant communities and Africans have been the target of dangerous rhetoric, which is a flagrant abuse of freedom of expression,” the Iranian diplomat noted.

“We also express our serious concern about the increase in insults to Muslim sanctities in Western countries,” Zare’ian added, according to Press TV.

The Iranian representative also censured as “illegal and inhumane” the imposition of unilateral sanctions against countries, and said the restrictive measures “openly target the daily lives of ordinary citizens without discrimination and are designed to undermine any achievement of social development.”

The Iranian diplomat said the implementation of unilateral and coercive measures continues to fundamentally violate the human rights of all countries, and that “such sanctions, due to their extraterritorial nature and their illegal application outside national borders, also undermine human rights across the world.””

    https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/2608601/bahraini-court-fines-central-bank-iran-money-laundering-caseBahraini

“The Bahraini High Criminal Court has sentenced three Iran-owned Future Bank officials charged with financial crimes and money laundering to five years in jail and to fines of BD 1 million each.

The court also fined the Iranian Central Bank and other Iran-owned banks, including Future Bank, implicated in the schemes BD 1 million each and ordered the confiscation of the funds that the banks wanted to transfer illegally, state news agency BNA reported.

Advocate General Nayef Yousef Mahmoud, Head of the Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Prosecution, said that the total of the fines in the seven cases reviewed by the court reached BD 49 million while the confiscated funds amounted to $173 million.

Earlier, the Public Prosecution announced that its investigations revealed that the Central Bank of Iran planned to launder billions of dollars through the Future Bank, established in Bahrain and managed by two Iranian banks, Bank Melli Iran and Bank Saderat Iran, to pass suspicious financial transactions in favor of Iranian entities, mainly the Central Bank of Iran, in violation of laws and regulations.

The Future Bank also received requests for suspicious financial transfers in favor of the Central Bank and other Iranian banks through the “SWIFT” system without reporting them or setting aside the amounts, in an effort to conceal the identity of the Iranian bank. The scheme allowed the bank to make the transfers in violation of laws and regulations.

The general advocate said investigations are still underway regarding the remaining incidents in which the Central Bank and other Iranian banks used the Future Bank to carry out international transactions in violation of the Law on Prohibiting and Combating Money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing and banking laws and regulations.

To date, the court has imposed a total of BD 330 million in fines against those found guilty in cases related to the Future Bank, confiscated financial transfer amounts worth $323 million, and issued custodial penalties against them, he added.”

“Facebook on Friday said it has dismantled seven separate networks of fake accounts and pages on its platform that were active in Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Myanmar, Georgia, and Ukraine due to “coordinated inauthentic behaviour”, Reuters reports.

The social media platform announced it had taken down the new networks as part of its monthly report into “coordinated inauthentic behaviour”, which also noted Facebook had removed nearly 8,000 pages involved in deceptive campaigns around the world in October.

Many of the networks taken down by Facebook were involved in deceptive political influence campaigns using fake accounts, targeting audiences both domestically and abroad.

One network of Facebook accounts and pages was operated from Egypt, Turkey, and Morocco by individuals connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Egyptian Islamist movement that operates networks of groups across the Middle East.

The pages targeted countries across the region and included some terrorism-related content, Facebook said.

Facebook found two “inauthentic” networks in Georgia spreading political content, one of which the platform traced to individuals associated with two political parties.

In Ukraine and Myanmar, the social media giant found that public relations firms were running similar deceptive campaigns on behalf of political parties.

The company has been cracking down on such accounts globally after coming under fire for not developing tools quickly enough to combat extremist content and propaganda operations.”

“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani declared that his country experienced its worst days during Donald Trump’s presidency.

This came in a speech Rouhani delivered via video conferencing on Thursday, at the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of the water transfer and desalination project in the Arabian Gulf.

Rouhani stated that the US could not thwart Iran’s renaissance despite using the sanctions policy.

He continued: “That man in the White House did not lift even part of the sanctions imposed on our country during the outbreak of the coronavirus, but I am confident that our people will achieve victory in the end.”

Rouhani reiterated that his country has no interest in the outcome of the US presidential elections.

“The results of the US elections will be announced today or tomorrow. It does not matter who will run the White House, for they have no power but to submit to the will of the Iranian people and the pressures of the international community,” affirmed Rouhani.”

    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20201106-turkey-policemen-kurdish-mp-flee-to-greek-island-in-refugee-boat/

“A boat full of asylum seekers arrived at the shores of western Greece earlier this week, with a Kurdish MP and 20 former Turkish police officers onboard.

According to the Greek newspaper Ilia Live, the policemen and the member of parliament fled Turkey in order to escape persecution from the Turkish government under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The fishing boat, which held 65 passengers overall, was also boarded by other migrants and reportedly ten members of the outlawed terror group the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). They arrived at the coast of the Greek town Katakolo on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaking to the paper following their arrival, one of the police officers said: “We are from Turkey and we were police officers,” showing the reporters a picture of him on his phone as proof. “We have to get out of here.”

The escaped police officers are reportedly members of the Gulen movement, which follows the Turkish Islamic modernist cleric Fethullah Gulen who the Turkish government maintains was behind the failed military coup attempt in 2016. Following that unsuccessful attempt, the government set about cracking down on the movement and arrested or made redundant tens of thousands of suspected Gulenists.

Another passenger, a Kurdish journalist named Azad, allegedly spent three years in prison in Turkey before fleeing. “Prison is tough,” he said, adding that “I want to leave for any country I can communicate in English, to be able to continue my life.”

One country he wished to reach is Canada: “I have left my own people behind and I know I cannot go back to see them. But I cannot stay in Turkey. If I stay I will end up in prison again.””

“Turkey’s U.S. envoy on Nov. 5 strongly condemned an attack on a Turkish restaurant in California, calling on federal and local authorities to protect Turkish Americans there.

Ambassador Serdar K?l?ç’s remarks came a day after a group of extremist Armenians attacked the restaurant, located in Beverly Hills in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

In a statement, the police department there called the attack a “hate crime.”

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, a group of 6-8 males entered the restaurant, made pro-Armenia comments, destroyed property and physically attacked its employees.

On Twitter, K?l?ç called on federal and local authorities there to “protect the rights of Turkish Americans and punish the culprits,”

In a subsequent tweet, K?l?ç called on Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to condemn the “racially motivated hate crime” by extremist Armenians, saying “members of the Turkish American Community in Los Angeles who are also your constituents expect you to stand by them now.”

Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman said the attack is an “unacceptable act of hate and violence.”

“There is no place in our city for this behavior and we ask members of the public to please come forward with any information on the suspects in this case,” said Friedman.”
