Reader’s Links for August 19, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

“The quarantine ship “Aurelia” managed to dock at Lampedusa on Wednesday following several attempts, and boarding has begun for the 250 migrants from the Imbriacola hotspot.

About 15 other non-EU citizens who have tested positive for the coronavirus will also board the ship.

The Agrigento prefect is working with the government to find more available places in various facilities across the country in order to plan new transfers to alleviate the presence of migrants on the island.(ANSAmed).”

    • Italy: Hundreds of migrants board new quarantine ship in Lampedusa

Some 250 migrants with coronavirus boarded a ship chartered by the Italian government to act as a quarantine facility in Lampedusa on Wednesday.

Previously, the ship tried to dock but failed because of strong winds. Migrants can be seen being taken to the ship via shuttles and boarding the vessel.

The Italian authorities are trying to clear overpopulated high-risk areas on Lampedusa where migrant reception facilities are already facing overcrowding amid an increase in crossings.

The migrants are reportedly from the island’s Imbriacola coronavirus hotspot, with 15 non-EU citizens who have tested positive also set to be quarantined on the ship, ‘Aurelia.’

  2. Arab clan crime rate up 30% in German state of North Rhine-Westphalia

“Clan criminality in Germany’s most populous federal state, North Rhine Westhpalia, rose by 30 percent last year, with a significant part of the clans consisting of immigrants, the state’s Minister of Interior Herbert Reul said at Monday press conference.

Reul said that the Arab clans are mostly involved in robberies, fraud and organized crime, which indicates that some of these group operate just like the Mafia, according to Hungarian news outlet Magyar Hirlap.

According to a recent report by German magazine Focus, in the state the number of crimes committed last year by clans was 6,104, a 30 percent increase from 2018. Police databases indicate that there are 111 active groups with 3,779 members. Reul said the rise in the number of clan crimes was partly due to the fact that police are now more focused on these types of crime, which indicates that the problem may have been present for a longer period of time than previously thought.

German police and politicians have also expressed their fears over Chechen clans, many of whom are involved with organized crime and a series of revenge attacks.

“There were problems with Chechens in other cities, especially in places where refugee applicants were concentrated,” said Brandenburg Interior Minister Karl-Heinz Schröter. “They are expressed in the conflicts between immigrants from Chechnya and other nationalities which involved whole groups of people who actually live in other areas of Germany immediately gathering. They were mobilized to respond by a member of the group who felt slighted, and sometimes it resulted in assaults.”

According to a report by Die Welt, five police officers were injured in Berlin’s Neukölln district on Monday, when the officers attempted to break up a street fight and were attacked by local residents. Police had to use tear gas to disperse the attackers and get the situation under control.

Neukölln is known for having the highest percentage of immigrants of all twelve Berlin boroughs and a number of Kurdish and Arab clans, some of which have been involved in high-profile murders.

In another incident on Aug. 8, Berlin daily Tagesspiegel reported that while investigating the rape of a 15-year-old girl at a bathing lake near the German capital’s Tegel airport, the first responding police units had been attacked by bathers who threw bottles at them, forcing them to withdraw. They eventually managed to get the situation under control when a police intervention unit arrived.

While a police spokesman said the identity of the attackers was unknown as they only wore swimming trunks, Tagesspiegel noted that the attackers were of immigrant background. The 15-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical checks and police also made an appeal to other potential victims to file complaints.”

    • Chechens made rabid by Wahhabi clerics funded by Saudi Arabia. I see Uncle Vlad laughing himself silly, watching the tender loving Gutmenschen trying to live up to their own “humanitarian” pretensions.

Most of the actual Democratic National Convention events take place during daytime hours. And if you saw what they were saying during the day, you might flee the country.

  4. Iran: Imam Hussain flag raised at former US embassy ahead of Mourning of Muharram ceremony
Authorities raised the flag of Imam Hussain at the former US embassy in Tehran on Wednesday, on the eve of the beginning of the Mourning of Muharram ceremony commemorating the third Shia Imam.

Organised by the student branch of the Basij organisation (an Iranian paramilitary force created by Ayatollah Khomeini during the 1979 revolution), attendees honoured the eve of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar and Al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, a grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, better known as Imam Hussain.

“Our message from this place to the world is to revive the approach of martyrs and Imam Hussein to earn the rights of the poor and oppose the arrogant,” said Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Sepehr, the deputy head of the Basij organisation.

During the ceremony, some people stood on the American flag and raised a flag devoted to Imam Hussein before holding a short religious mourning and displaying anti-American paintings.
