Police missed chances to bring a takeaway owner to justice earlier for a string of sexual offences against under-age girls, a judge said today.
Several witnesses, including a 12-year-old girl, complained about Azad Miah pestering them for sex in exchange for money but no action was taken and he continued his “corrupting and degrading” sexual exploitation for several years.
Judge Peter Hughes QC said Cumbria Constabulary needed to learn lessons and be ‘ever vigilant’ to detect signs of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable people and to take seriously what they say ‘however chaotic their lives may be’
Miah, a 44-year-old Bangladeshi, was jailed today for 15 years for paying under-age girls for sex, inciting others to become child prostitutes and running a brothel at his former Spice of India establishment in Carlisle city centre.

2. The politicians were wrong—predictions on coronavirus deaths were wild exaggerations
(So why exactly are we still snowed under in the regulations based on these wild exaggerations? Is it 1. So politicians can save face, or 2. They are power mad now and want to do everything they never thought they could before?)
The facts are in. The COVID-19 death predictions of governments are proving to be wild exaggerations that have inflicted unnecessary fear, anxiety and stress on millions of people.
In mid-March, the United Kingdom and other countries listened to predictions by Dr. Neil Ferguson of Imperial College, who predicted as many as 510,000 COVID-19 deaths in the UK and 2.2 million deaths in the US. These numbers were relied upon by the United Kingdom and governments around the world to justify imposing lockdowns.
As of May 22, 2020, US deaths were 97,102 (4 percent of the Ferguson estimate) and UK deaths were 36,393 (7 percent of the Ferguson estimate). COVID-19 deaths in the UK, the US, Italy and globally are within the same range of the annual flu, which kills between 291,000 and 646,000 per year.
It appears that governments in Canada also used Dr. Fergusons methodology when restricting our Charter freedoms to move, travel, associate, assemble and practice one’s faith. In Alberta, for example, the government warned that as many as 32,000 Albertans would die of COVID-19. In fact, 132 Albertans have died of COVID-19 as of May 22, 2020, not 32,000.
3. Leaks: Magistrates Agreed with Salvini Migrant Policy, Attacked Him Anyway
A leaked chat between Italian magistrates revealed that while they admitted thinking in private that former interior minister Matteo Salvini’s migrant policies were correct and legal, they chose to attack him publicly anyway.
The leaked messages were made on WhatsApp in 2018 while Salvini served as interior minister. During that time, judges were continually attacking the League leader for his policy that closed Italy’s ports to migrant transport NGO vessels operating in the Mediterranean.
(And there we have the distinction between Communism’s ‘useful idiots’ and the actual implementers of communist policy. Useful idiots really believe the propaganda, and the implementers know its dangerous BS but do it anyway)
4. No-Go Zone ‘Youths’ Spit on Police Car Door Handles to Spread Virus
Three “youths” in the notorious radical Islamist hotbed municipality of Molenbeek in Brussels were arrested after spitting on police vehicle door handles in an effort to spread the Chinese coronavirus.
The three individuals arrested were members of the so-called “White Vests”. The group wear white vests while supposedly trying to raise awareness among the youths of Molenbeek about the dangers of coronavirus, advising people to abide by social distancing rules, wash their hands, and engage in other helpful actions such as redistributing food.
5. No coronavirus catastrophes following reopenings of Georgia, Florida and Texas
Three large Southern states that moved aggressively to reopen amid the coronavirus crisis have seen new cases and deaths largely hold steady since then — despite several controversies over some of their data.
In Georgia, where Gov. Brian Kemp bucked the White House and local officials to lift a stay-at-home order on April 24, the state reported 862 cases on Thursday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
That was less than the 946 new cases counted on Wednesday, but helped spur a slight rise in a seven-day rolling average that’s been basically trending downward since the start of the Peach State’s reopening.
Deaths, meanwhile, rose by 78, marking the most since the same number was reached on April 27 and bringing the total toll to 1,775.
Georgia set its single-day record for coronavirus deaths — 94 — before the lockdown, on April 20.
Coronavirus lockdowns have ‘destroyed millions of livelihoods’ but failed to alter the course of the pandemic given many US states have seen lower infection rates after easing restrictions, a JP Morgan study has claimed.
The statistical analysis has raised questions about the effectiveness of the lockdowns put in place across much of the United States two months ago to stop the spread of COVID-19.
It suggests that the lockdown measures have not only resulted in economic devastation but could have also resulted in more COVID-19 deaths.
The strict stay-at-home measures put in place by the governors of most states in mid-March has so far seen nearly 39 million American lose their jobs and forced businesses to close.

8. Malca left this comment on the safety of hydroxychloroquine for pregnant women:
Hydroxychloroquine Use in Lupus Patients during Pregnancy Is Associated with Longer Pregnancy Duration in Preterm Births https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jir/2017/2810202/
https://mothertobaby.org/fact-sheets/hydroxychloroquine-pregnancy/ Studies have looked at over 400 pregnancies and have not found an increased chance for birth defects with hydroxychloroquine use for the treatment of rheumatic diseases.
https://www.contemporaryobgyn.net/article/lupus-pregnancy/page/0/2Hydroxychloroquine should be maintained or initiated in all pregnancies complicated by SLE.
There is a video going around Facebook in which an OB/GYN expresses astonishment that HCQ would be as denigrated as it is in the press right now. He pulls out a copy of the Physicians Desk Reference and points to the section on how safe it is to take during pregnancy. Here’s a version with the same name, PDR: https://www.pdr.net/drug-summary/Plaquenil-hydroxychloroquine-sulfate-1911#13
9. ‘Nothing can justify this destruction of people’s lives’
Yoram Lass, former director of Israel’s Health Ministry, on the hysteria around Covid-19.
Countries across the world have been in lockdown for months in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The costs of the policy are enormous – in terms of life, liberty and the economy. But is it worth it to save lives? Yoram Lass was once the director-general of Israel’s Ministry of Health. Lass is a staunch critic of the lockdown policy adopted in his native Israel and around the world. He has described our response to Covid-19 as a form of hysteria. spiked caught up with him to find out more.
spiked: You have described the global response to coronavirus as hysteria. Can you explain that?
Yoram Lass: It is the first epidemic in history which is accompanied by another epidemic – the virus of the social networks. These new media have brainwashed entire populations. What you get is fear and anxiety, and an inability to look at real data. And therefore you have all the ingredients for monstrous hysteria.
10. The only thing the CBC earns is CONTEMPT

Everyone needs to treat CBC crews like this when they show up to hijack your event into their agenda. And that is all they ever do.
Thank you Richard, M., Wrath of Khan, ML., Yucki, Johnny U., Rich, Malca, and everyone who sent in materials this weekend.
Item 7: I had mentioned Hong Kong Protests as one of their 3-fold objectives in allowing the virus to spread. And I still believe it was intentional release.
The other two: Economic would be their first priority and population control would be a last third.
They achieved all three of their objectives.
The upcoming G-7 will be held at Camp David. Let’s hope they unite for a common response to China.
China, I don’t think the release we deliberate but I do think the CCP allowed the virus to spread around the world so that 1) They could get the hard currencies the expats would bring home during Lunar New Years. 2) They could weaken the rest of the world so China wouldn’t be the only nation whose economy is destroyed. They didn’t release the bug to be able to take over Hong Kong but they are using it to do that. The CCPs reasoning appears to be that the world is in so much turmoil they can destroy the Western conduit into the Mainland without out doing much more damage to China.
The CCP also appears to be moving to use force in seizing control of Taiwan probably thinking that between the pandemic and the Democrats ongoing coup attempt the US won’t be able to come to Taiwan’s aid.
The problem for China that people are forgetting is 1) the economic damage that the flu has done to China. 2) The damage the crop failures caused by two types of animal flu combined with the weather destroying wheat and rice crops has done to the Chinese economy. This damage limits what the CCP can do although the combined economic problems may have made them desperate enough to try to seize Hong Kong and Taiwan in the hopes they can grab enough capital to carry them through the economic collapse.
2, 5, 6- Critical points not to be forgotten. Vlad’s questions on #2 are salient.
7- Is CBC screaming about the death of HK? (I can’t know because I cannot watch it.)
8- Thanks Malca.
9- I wish some country would lead the way other than twisted Sweden.
