Snitches of lockdown violators ratted out: Links 1, May 4, 2020

1. Bjorn Lomborg with Ben Shapiro on the shut-down economics.

This is pretty good, and Bjorn, the author of The Skeptical Enviornmentalist, takes that fairly Buddhist ‘Middle path’ approach to the question.
In his media spike many years ago about man made global warming, he said it was a real thing, but that all the measures being taken would not fix the problem and would cost a fortune in human suffering. Of course he was half right.

In this he takes a similar approach, meaning highly reasonable and this is worth the 11 minutes to watch. But it did make me think of a question I would have liked to ask them both.

If a couple after 2 weeks or more of lockdown got a divorce or broke up, would we say it was from the lock down or would we say they must have had underlying issues?

4. I don’t trust any numbers anymore but this video is short and doesn’t have a lot of numbers. Just shows life today in Sweden. One thing is for sure. A certain amount of ‘Covid’ deaths in Sweden is the government policy of murdering old sick people with morphine instead of treating them with oxygen or anything that might help.

5. Mayor of Chicago

(Do mayors have to swear an oath to uphold the Constitution?)

6. Denmark: Migrant ‘youths’ arrested for filming gang rape of a 15-year-old girl

Four ‘youths’ who are charged with gang raping a 15-year-old girl and filming it near a school in Haslev, Denmark appeared in court over the weekend.

The four perpetrators – a 19-years-old, two 18-year-olds, and a 17-year-old – were arrested by police shortly after the rape took place on the night of May 2nd. On Sunday, the four appeared at a court hearing in Næstved. According to a report from the Danish newspaper Den Korte Avis, three of the four perpetrators had foreign backgrounds, while the fourth – the youth who’s believed to have film the rape occur – appeared to be Danish.

According to the indictment, the suspects are charged with “having united in agreement and prior agreement or mutual understanding of having intercourse with the girl against her will”. However, the three suspects who are migrants contend that the girl had consented to having sex with them.

8. More than 900 Missouri residents who ‘snitched’ on lockdown rule-breakers fear retaliation after their details are leaked online

(Let this be a lesson to those that would like to transform free nations into a new Soviet Union. We can find out who you are that would rat out your neighbours while doing you no harm, and you will be ratted out in turn)

Hundreds of people have been exposed for reporting people who have flouted social distancing rules and some are now scared they could receive a backlash.

The names and addresses of approximately 900 people in Missouri were released as part of a media request under the Sunshine Law, which allows for the release of information submitted to a public agency (except for wrongdoing and abuse tips).

St. Louis County had urged the community to share details of anyone not following guidelines in response to the coronavirus pandemic and noted in the terms and conditions that information may be shared publicly.

However some people may not have read the small print submitted tips via an online form and email from the end of March.

Many had asked for their communications to remain private.

Thank you EW., ET., Wrath of Khan, M., Richard, Yucki, MissPiggy, ML., Coram Deo, Johnny U., and MANY more who have contributed to this site last weekend and so far this week, even though it is getting more and more difficult to tell the difference.

  1. To answer you question Most if not all of the Mayors have to swear to uphold the Constitution and all law enforcement personal have to swear to uphold the Constitution.

  2. 8 – It looks like someone did like the way so many people were willing to spy for the city/ county and decided to show who they are. As for their fearing for their safety because their names were published, nobody likes a snitch and that includes the cops who use them.

    • As I read it, and with the photo down lower in the source article, the guy who leaked the names said it was to discourage this behaviour

      • It will do that, there is an old Russian saying that goes something like this: When 3 people set down to discuss rebellion 1 is a fool and 2 are police spies. You have to discourage the spies/snitches or convert them to your cause.

The Marine vet in the video from California was good, he as real good. I wonder if the police were pulled because he convinced the officer in charge that they were on the wrong side or if the officer in charge was worried about how many of his men were being convinced that they were in the wrong?

      • Not worry, Richard. He knows if he loses the loyalty of 1 or 2 men, he will lose the ability to coordinate all the men. He was prudent and calculated. I recall that Brigadier General Felix Sparks was court-martialed after his men broke ranks because they reacted to what they saw on liberating Dachau. Holdong together the team seems to me to be more critical that what the team does.

        • Concern about keeping the team together is worry, and that worry tells us that the commanders are not sure what they are doing is the right thing. If they thought the thug actions were correct they wouldn’t be worried about what their men are going to do.

      • No I can’t she is letting her inner dictator come out and is showing that the Dems have moved so far to the totalitarian side it is unlikely they will be able to move away from that position.
