Horrific footage of dogs in agony after they were poisoned in a doomed attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus has emerged in Lebanon. 

 

The video of poisoned dogs foaming at the mouth appeared on social media after a report on Lebanese TV claimed that cats and dogs could transmit the virus. 

 

In fact, there is no evidence that pets can spread the virus to their owners, but animals have been found abandoned on the streets in the wake of the scare.  

 

Abandoned dogs are already a problem in the country, activists say, with as many as 50,000 of the animals on the streets.

Twitter has forced Fox News host Laura Ingraham to take down a tweet reporting on news that the malaria drug Hydroxychloroquine has been used to successfully treat sufferers of the Chinese virus in New York City hospitals.

 

In a now-deleted tweet, the Fox host reported that “Lenox Hill in New York among many hospitals using Hydroxychloroquine with promising results. One patient was described as “Lazarus” who was seriously ill from COVID-19, already released. #IngrahamAngle”

 

Twitter told left-wing reporters that Ingraham had been locked out of her account and forced to delete the tweet before regaining access. Twitter cited its new rules around “misleading information around COVID-19,” even though it appears that Chinese propagandists on the platform are being given a pass on virus-related misinformation.

And so it’s quite understandable that its government’s maverick response to the coronavirus crisis is making many in the country feel uneasy.

 

After all, Sweden is the last major European country to have most of its schools, bars and restaurants still open.

Yes, the government has asked people to work from home if possible, and those over 70 have been instructed to stay indoors, while visits to elderly care homes have been banned.

 

But there have been no official lockdown directives – even though there have been more than 4,000 cases of infection and 180 deaths.

  1. 7 – I guess Sweden decided to be the nation to discover if the Wuhan Flu is over hyped or not. I guess they are believing the Chinese official numbers instead of checking what others are saying.

    • It’s most likely to kill off the ethnic Swedes, the ones who remember Swedish Sweden.

    On Tuesday night FOX News host Tucker Carlson reopened the case using information from a CHINESE study on the origin of the novel coronavirus.

    The coronavirus came from either the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention or Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China.

    The study concluded the deadly virus came out of local laboratories in Hubei Province. The smoking gun in the study is the link to horseshoe bats which are not sold in local markets and not native to Wuhan. In fact the closest colony is 900 kilometers away. There is no evidence horseshoe bats were sold in the Wuhan wet markets. The local labs used this bat specimen and the virus came from a lab in Wuhan.

    Reports linking bats to the coronavirus started making the rounds back in January.

    But a recent paper published in the Wuhan Centre for Disease Control and Prevention found the source of the coronavirus is a laboratory near the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan.

    Scientists from South China University of Technology in Guangzhou wrote and published a paper speculating that a centre for disease control near a Wuhan seafood market may be ground zero for the virus.

    Botao Xiao and Lei Xiao wrote that the Wuhan Centre for Disease Control and Prevention was the possible source because it “hosted animals in laboratories for research purposes”, including bats, and was “within 280 metres of the Huanan Seafood Market where a number of early infections were reported”.

    In the paper, titled The possible origins of 2019-nCoV coronavirus, researchers explained that “41 people in Wuhan were found to have the acute respiratory syndrome and 27 of them had contact with Huanan Seafood Market”.

    They wrote: “According to municipal reports and the testimonies of 31 residents and 28 visitors, the bat was never a food source in the city, and no bat was traded in the market.”

    The research facility was also adjacent to the Union Hospital where the first group of doctors were infected.

    This report was published in February.
