Nearly 5,500 National Guard Troops Deployed in 32 States Over Coronavirus Outbreak
The Hill reports that when asked if the White House could federalize the Guard to respond to the illness, National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Joseph Lengyel told reporters that President Trump could do so if desired, but that such a move “would not make sense in this situation.”
“Every state has a different way to deal with disasters. If you were to federalize [the Guard], you would lose that ability,” he said.
The US now has an emergency declaration in every state, territory and the District of Columbia.

On Friday President Trump declared New York State a major disaster area as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases jumped to 10,356 by Saturday morning.
There have been 56 deaths reported in the state due to coronavirus.
The US mortality rate for the coronavirus has dropped to 1.2% from 4% in the last 13 days.
The US military is now working on plans due to the emergency declaration that will enable them to take over hotels, college dormitories and sports arenas and turn them into ICU-like areas.

The classified intel warnings were disseminated to the House Intel Committee and other lawmakers but Chairman Schiff was too busy with his sham impeachment to care.
Intelligence agencies “have been warning on this since January,” said a U.S. official who had access to intelligence reporting that was disseminated to members of Congress and their staffs as well as to officials in the Trump administration, and who, along with others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive information. – WaPo reported.

Three polls released late this week show a majority of Americans approve of President Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus crisis. The approval numbers have risen as as Trump has led daily televised press briefings on the government’s response to the virus. By coincidence a call has gone out by liberals, led by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, for a media blackout of the briefings because they say Trump will get people killed because of his rhetoric.
The ABC News/ Ipsos poll has Trump up at 55 percent, the Harris poll at 53 percent and Survey USA at 51 percent.

At the National Counterterrorism Center, a quiet sign of Spygate infrastructure being addressed – Liberty Unyielding
On Thursday, media outlets including the Wall Street Journal reported that the top leadership at the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) is being “fired.” The two officials leaving their posts are the Acting Director, Russell Travers, and the Acting Deputy Director, Peter Hall.
Travers reportedly plans to retire from government service. Hall will be returning to the National Security Agency, where he has spent the bulk of his civilian career. Both began their careers in intelligence in the Army, but eventually transitioned to civilian service.
The NCTC is directly subordinate to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and the interpretation in the media is that the departure of Travers and Hall is “about” Acting DNI Richard Grenell purging the senior ranks of the national intelligence community.

“The Yemeni government has condemned the Houthi militias’ ongoing violations against humanitarian aid, calling on the international community and the Security Council as well as the World Food Program (WFP) to address the group’s actions.
In a terse statement, Yemeni Minister of Local Administration Abdul Raqib Fatah said Houthis recently burnt 160 tons of wheat in Taiz provided by the WFP, which did not comment on the incident.
This is a blatant violation to be added to the list of crimes and breaches committed by the group, Fatah said, adding that Houthis haven’t only imposed a blockade on Taiz for four years but also burnt humanitarian aid allocated for the residents.
The minister urged Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Lise Grande to address the Houthi crimes ahead of the international community and the Security Council to pressure them to halt these acts. He also called on the WFP to inform the international and local public about the militia’s crimes and hold them responsible for their deeds.
Fatah reiterated that the government will continue to provide support for donors and international organizations to implement humanitarian projects and programs in the country.
Ramesh Rajasingham, Director of Coordination Division at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, has warned that there are 30 programs threatened in Yemen.
“Income projections now show that more than 30 major programs will reduce or start to close down by the end of April without additional funding,” Rajasingham told the Security Council in a briefing.
Notably, this month saw intensive meetings between humanitarian and UN organizations representatives with Houthi leaders in hope that the group would ease restrictions imposed on the organizations’ activities. However, Houthis insist on hindering the organizations’ delivery of aid, revealed reliable sources to Asharq Al-Awsat.
Earlier, the Yemeni government accused the Iran-pro group of looting almost 900 aid cargoes. Government sources and UN reports also accused Houthis of imposing a 2 percent commission of projects on aid agencies and organizations in regions seized by them, regardless of the repercussions on millions of starving residents.”

Northern Cyprus rescues 175 asylum seekers at sea

“Turkish Cypriot security forces on Saturday rescued 175 Syrian asylum seekers off the coast of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in a floundering boat, according to sources among the rescuers.
Thirty of the asylum seekers, whose boat was foundering 10 meters (32.8 feet) from the shore, were women and 69 were children, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The migrants were taken to a sports hall for health checks in the coastal town of Iskele, the TRNC.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Hasan Sadikoglu, the mayor of Iskele, said that the whole town was mobilized to help the asylum seekers and showed great care.
Everyone brought clothes for the children and adults, and the shopkeepers also helped, he said.
He said that a crisis desk for migrants will be created to decide how to proceed on the issue.
Nearby Turkey has been the main route for refugees trying to cross to Europe, especially since the beginning of civil war in Syria.
Turkey allows asylum seekers to seek to enter Europe by land, but not by sea, as the latter is too dangerous.

Greece: Hundreds of migrants moved to new camp near Bulgarian border
Nearly 600 migrants who entered Greece earlier in March were transferred from the Greek islands to a new closed camp near the Greek village of Promachonas, close to the border with Bulgaria, on Saturday.
Footage shows several buses arriving at a camp with temporary shelters, where migrants were registered and tested by health officials for coronavirus.
Many, reportedly coming from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Africa, will be reportedly repatriated back to their countries of origin.
Migrants were transferred from Greece’s Eastern Aegean islands, which have seen a large influx of people reaching the European territory by sea in the past months.
