Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

      WASHINGTON (Reuters) – One British and two American personnel were killed and about a dozen people were wounded when 18 small rockets hit Iraq’s Taji military camp north of Baghdad on Wednesday, U.S. officials told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.

      The officials, who cautioned the death toll may rise given the severity of some of the injuries, said it was too soon to assign blame. Any indication that Iran-backed militia were responsible could spark a new round of confrontation between the United States and Iran.

      U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab and they “underscored that those responsible for the attacks must be held accountable,” the State Department said.

        A rocket attack on Camp Taji Iraq on march 11 has killed Americans and has led to tensions in Iraq. CENTCOM says “Three Coalition personnel were killed during a rocket attack on Camp Taji, Iraq, March 11. Approximately 12 additional personnel were wounded during the attack. The attack is under investigation by the Coalition and Iraqi Security Forces. Camp Taji is an Iraqi base that hosts Coalition personnel for training and advising missions. Approximately 18 107mm Katyusha rockets struck the base. The Iraqi Security Forces found a rocket-rigged truck, a few miles from Camp Taji.”

        It is the latest of numerous attacks in Iraq as US-Iran tensions rose over the last year. In December a US contractor was killed at K-1 near Kirkuk. The US responded to the December rocket fire with attacks on five Kataib Hezbollah targets. In response pro-Iranian groups, many linked to the Popular Mobilization Units, stormed the US embassy compound, setting the stage for the current escalation.…

  10. Three people are dead and a fourth is in hospital after a series of random, “senseless” stabbings across Melbourne’s inner-east on Wednesday night.
    Two women arriving at their Hawthorn home on one of Melbourne’s most affluent streets were stabbed, one fatally, before a man was stabbed to death near a Kew tram stop. The second woman was in a stable condition in hospital on Thursday afternoon.
    Mohammed Ibrahim, 34, from Roxburgh Park, slashed a Protective Services Officer to the face at Jolimont train station earlier in the night and was shot dead by police shortly after midnight.
    He was armed with two kitchen knives and a switchblade.

    “India has been accusing Pakistan of providing a safe haven for terrorist outfits. In February 2019, Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for a suicide attack on a convoy of Indian troops that killed 40 individuals, heightening tensions between the two countries.

    The Pakistani Army was found training 25 Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists near the Bhawani post in Jammu and Kashmir, according to intelligence sources.

    The sources claimed that terrorists were being trained at a launch pad by JeM commander Abu Hamza, where eight Baloch Regiments of the Pakistani Army were posted.

    After training, the terrorists were meant to go to India from the Rajouri, Poonch, and Jammu side of the border in six groups, the sources said.

    India has been claiming that terror outfits active in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab were getting aid from Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed.

    The reports of links between Jaish, Jammu and Kashmir-based Hizbul Mujahideen and Punjab-based Khalistani militants have been making the rounds for some time.

    Khalistani militants are seeking to create a separate country “Khalistan” in the Punjab region as a homeland for Sikhs, while Hizbul Mujahideen is a Kashmiri militant group seeking independence for Kashmir from India.

    Three terrorists killed in Nagrota in the Jammu region in an encounter on 31 January 2020, also had links with Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Khalistani militants in Punjab.

    An overground worker arrested in the 31 January encounter had revealed that a group of terrorists associated with Jaish existed in Amritsar, a city in the Indian state of Punjab that shares a border with Pakistan.”

    “Greek authorities are preparing for a big push of migrants at the Turkish border while tensions between Greece and Turkey continue to escalate following reports of Turkish forces firing weapons at the border.

    Police and border officials near the Evros river have expressed concern that a large number of migrants may soon push to cross into their country with reports claiming that large tree trunks have been moved to the border, which could be used as rafts by migrants.

    Another possibility proposed by Greek newspaper Kathimerini this week has been the idea that Turkish forces could use buses to move many migrants to a certain area in order to find a weakness in the border and surprise Greek forces.

    The Greek Police (ELAS) is also preparing for a scenario that could possibly see the arrest of border officials or armed forces personnel who might accidentally cross into Turkish territory by mistake.

    Tensions between Greek and Turkish forces remain high along the border region with another report claiming that on Wednesday, Turkish special forces fired several shots in the direction of a Greek army vehicle on the other side of the border.

    The shots, which were fired above the Greek vehicle, come just days after another alleged incident involving a Greek patrol being shot at from the direction of Turkey.

    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who opened the border two weeks ago, met with European Union officials on Monday but neither side could reach a deal that would have Turkey close the border.

    Last weekend, President Erdogan called on Greece to open its borders as Turkey had done saying: “Hey Greece! I appeal to you… open the gates as well and be free of this burden… Let them go to other European countries.”

    While Erdogan has claimed that the migrants are largely Syrian nationals, reports from the Greek government have revealed only four per cent of those who have crossed into Greece illegally have been from Syria.”

      Migrants on the Greek islands are to be offered €2,000 (£1,764) per person to go home under a voluntary scheme launched by the European Union in an attempt to ease desperate conditions in camps.

      The amount is more than five times the usual sum offered to migrants to help them rebuild their lives in their country of origin, under voluntary returns programmes run by the United Nations’ International Organization for Migration (IOM).

      The offer will last one month, as the commission fears an open-ended scheme would attract more migrants to Europe. It will not apply to refugees who have no homes to return to, but is intended to incentivise migrants seeking better living standards to leave the islands.

      The EU’s home affairs commissioner, Ylva Johansson, said the scheme was “a window of opportunity for a targeted group”, adding that the IOM would run the scheme with the EU border agency Frontex.

      “Refugees will not return, of course, they can’t return, but economic migrants that maybe know they will not get a positive asylum decision could be interested in doing that,” she told a small group of reporters.

      The scheme, she said, could be a quick way to relieve the pressure on camps on the Greek islands, where conditions are “totally unacceptable”.

      The commission said it hoped 5,000 people will take up the offer, although it acknowledged it lacked statistics on how many people on the Greek islands were “economic migrants”, rather than refugees. Migrants on the Greek mainland were likely to be offered extra money to leave – much less than €2,000, but higher than the usual resettlement sum of €370.

      Since 2016, 18,151 people have chosen to return home from Greece under a voluntary returns programme funded by the EU and run by the IOM. Only about one-fifth of them (3,927) were on the islands.

      The extra money will come from the €700m emergency aid for Greece from the EU budget promised by the commission earlier this month, after Turkey announced it was “opening the gates” and sending migrants to Europe.

      The EU executive is also attempting to persuade more governments to take in unaccompanied children on the Greek islands. On Thursday, it emerged that Croatia and Ireland have joined Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Portugal in agreeing to take in unaccompanied minors. Around 1,600 children will be distributed among the seven countries.

      Even before the recent flare-up in tensions at the Greek-Turkish border, the UN refugee agency reported last month that more than 36,000 asylum seekers were staying in reception centres across five islands, originally designed for 5,400 people.

      Thousands are living in small tents with no electricity, heating or hot water. Health problems are increasing, but shortages of medical staff mean people struggle to get help.

      More than 20,000 people are living at the Moria camp on Lesbos, up from 5,000 last July. About 85% of last year’s arrivals were refugees, with most coming from Afghanistan and Syria, but also from Iraq, Palestine, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and elsewhere.

      More than 18,300 Moria residents were living in a facility designed for 2,200, while others were living in nearby olive groves.

      Earlier this month, doctors volunteering at Moria were forced to flee after being attacked by a mob carrying large sticks studded with nails. A series of attacks on aid workers has prompted some NGOs to withdraw from Lesbos, heightening concerns about the pressure on the islands.

Countries not having a clear and documented stance against Neo-Marxist, globalist policies, such as Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic, can be granted the confidence that they are reacting in the name of prudence by closing their borders and implementing draconian laws to stem the spread of the Wuhan virus. Conversely, countries with creeping Neo-Marxist dictatorships such as Dystopia, Italy, France, Sweden, Germany etc. must wait to see how far beyond Wuhan-related pragmatism expanded government controls are carried into permanent communist paradigms.     The Trump administration has scored a significant victory against Mexico’s most dangerous drug cartel. On Wednesday, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Department of Justice announced the conclusion of ‘Project Python.’

    The operation was a six month multi-agency enforcement campaign against the Jalisco New Generation cartel also known as the CJNG. It led to more than 600 arrests with 250 of those on Wednesday alone. Authorities also conducted significant seizures of illicit drugs and weapons.

    “Cartel de Jalisco New Generation, CJNG, is the single criminal organization most responsible for these deaths on both sides of the border,” stated Bill Bodner, DEA Special Agent in Charge. “Project Python, which culminated today, was a long term, national synchronized enforcement operation with the goal of disrupting, dismantling and destroying elements of CJNG.’

    A short while ago, Vladimir Putin endorsed a proposed amendment to the Russian constitution that would enable him to beat presidential term limits and remain in office through 2036.

    Although 2036 isn’t that far away anymore, it’s still quite a hitch. The 67-year-old Putin would be 83 by then. (And probably still pretending to do wheelies on motorcycles with biker gangs, and swim in icy waters with sharks.)

    Americans have mostly shrugged, because KGB-trained Russian political oligarchs are gonna oligarch, right? (One insightful wag pointed out that Putin is making a personal-security move. You don’t want to get old and vulnerable out of power in Russia, after a career like his.)

    And that’s true enough. But it’s also important not to miss this opportunity for clear sight about an American problem, which is that the “permanent state,” or “Deep State,” or “shadow government,” or whatever you want to call it – the one in America – aspires to be Vladimir Putin, in this cold-dead-fingers sense.   34. A former physics professor at West Virginia University has been charged with secretly working for China’s government as part of a covert plan to acquire sensitive technology from the United States.

    James Patrick Lewis, of Fairview, West Virginia, admitted to a single fraud charge, the Justice Department announced Tuesday.

  36. An investigation is underway in Berlin’s City Hall to find out why authorities placed homeless and troubled children with known pedophile foster parents.

    Two of the fostered victims are in line for a compensation pay out from the city Senate which has agreed an out-of-court settlement, reports Der Tagesspiegel.

    The twisted logic behind behind the “Kentler experiment”— named after the leading sexologist Helmut Kentler who spearheaded it — was that pedophilia could have “positive consequences” for young children.

    The social experiment, which took place in Berlin, Germany between 1969 and 2003, placed homeless boys aged between six and 14 were in the hands of pedophiles — because it was thought the vulnerable kids might benefit from their “attention.”

    Disturbingly, Kentler managed to persuade West Berlin’s ruling Senate that homeless young boys would leap at the opportunity to be fostered by pedophile fathers. He argued the boys would be “head over heels in love” with their new father figures.

    About this time Kentler was publicly lobbying for the decriminalization of sex between adults and children in West Germany.

    In a stunning new order aimed at high-ranking individuals in the intelligence community, presiding Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Judge James Boasberg issued the first ruling against the FBI, claiming that they knowingly misled the courts in order to obtain a warrant and spy on President Trump’s campaign in 2016.

  42. The EU said on Thursday it disapproved of the US decision to impose a travel ban on European countries, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and European Council president Charles Michel said.

    “The EU disapproves of the fact that the US decision to improve a travel ban was taken unilaterally and without consultation,” the statement said, adding that the EU is taking “strong” measures to limit the spread of the virus, Reuters reports.

    The statement follows US President Donald Trump’s announcement to impose a 30-day ban on travel from mainland Europe, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

    “Coronavirus has had an impact on the decision-making of political and military leaders in Tehran, Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) Kenneth McKenzie said in congressional testimony on Thursday.

    “I think it is having an effect on how they make decisions, I think it slows them down,” McKenzie said. “I think it probably makes them, in terms of decision-making, more dangerous rather than less dangerous.”

    He added that the outbreak would have “some effect on the military instrument.”

    McKenzie also said he believes that the number of coronavirus victims in Iran is under-reported.

    The total number of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Iran has risen to over 10,000, while the death toll has reached 429 people, Alireza Vahabzadeh, an adviser to the country’s health minister, said on Thursday.

    The day before, Vahabzadeh said that the total number of those infected was 9,000, while 354 people died in the country.”

    “In June 2019, President Donald Trump signed a bill to provide $4.6 billion in humanitarian assistance on the US southwestern border as federal agencies struggle to cope with the influx of illegal aliens.

    Matt Albence, acting director of US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), told reporters on Wednesday that removing illegal migrants from the country would be a task that may take more than a century to implement.

    He said that the surge in unauthorised migration had put 900,000 non-detained cases on ICE’s table over the past few years, bringing the total number to 3.3 million.

    Albence noted that “as numbers continue to climb, they will continue to outpace ICE’s inabilities to swiftly remove individuals”.

    According to him, ICE has already detained 2,500 non-criminal fugitives, or aliens who failed to adhere to an order to leave the US.

    “If we do that, based on just the numbers that came in the last two years, it would take us about 140 years to clear up that backlog”, Albence claimed.

    He pointed to the fact that his agency only detains about 1.5 percent of illegal immigrants, warning that “without additional resources to actually effectuate a judge’s removal orders, we will have an immigration enforcement and court system in which billions of dollars a year are spent to obtain orders, which are not worth the paper they are written on”.

    The ICE chief pointed out that although illegal aliens “have the right to due process”, the overwhelming majority of these individuals “do not have claims which meet asylum”.

    “So this is not about asylum, this is about the release. Most of these individuals want to come here because they know regardless if the get a removal order, regardless if they show up to court, if they don’t have a detention bed at the time the removal order is issued, the likelihood of them actually being removed from the country is nill”, Albence argued.
    Touching upon alien-related criminal history, he recalled that in 2019, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal officers arrested a total of 143,000 illegal migrants. Some 123,000 of them had been criminally convicted or had pending criminal charges pertaining to homicides, sexual assaults, kidnappings, drug trafficking, and DUIs.

    “123,000 accounted for almost half a million crimes. That’s almost four criminal offences for each person we put in custody”, he stressed.
    US Migration Issue Persists

    The remarks come after President Donald Trump’s previous calls to tackle the issue of illegal migration as soon as possible. In July 2019, he signed a $4.6 billion aid package to help federal agencies resolve the surge of Central American refugees at the US-Mexico border.

    “This is a humane solution to a tremendous problem that starts because of our bad immigration laws”, Trump pointed out.

    In June, Trump said that the US and Mexico had clinched a deal under which Washington would abandon earlier plans to impose tariffs on Mexican goods in a bid to stop the migrant influx. The deal stipulates that Mexico will deploy its National Guard to its southern border and will work to dismantle human smuggling networks.

    The situation around illegal aliens has been tense since the fall of 2018 when caravans of migrants from Central American countries seeking asylum began moving toward the United States through its border with Mexico.”

  48. Which Virus Is More Dangerous?

    Hint: it’s not the one the media is hyping.

    The two big stories these days are the COVID-19 outbreak and the Democrat presidential primaries. The former is filled with the media’s apocalyptic hysteria about a disease that for now is less deadly than the yearly flu. The latter’s drama comes from the DNC’s and Democrat big donors’ success in neutralizing Bernie Sanders’ candidacy and all but ensuring that an addled mediocrity ends up being the Dems’ presidential candidate in November.

    The Democrat primaries, however, are in large part a manifestation of the political virus that has infected the body politic for over three years, and that in the long run is more dangerous than the coronavirus: COVEFE-16, popularly known as Trump Derangement Syndrome. The coronavirus will eventually be contained, as previous viral outbreaks have been over the last few decades. TDS, on the other hand, may pave the way for the Dems’ control of the government come November. Such an outcome will mark a quantitative leap in the century-long dismantling of the Constitutional order that defends our political freedom.

    The two diseases have converged in the NeverTrumpers’ attempts to blame the coronavirus on President Trump. A Politico headline sums it up: “Trump’s Mismanagement Helped Fuel Coronavirus Crisis.” A common sense response like barring travelers from China, ground zero of the outbreak, is called “xenophobia” and “racism.” Delays in getting test-kits available are laid at Trump’s feet, as though he directly manages their manufacture and distribution. Trump’s efforts to tamp down the panic are called callous indifference, though we all know if he’d been more urgent about the dangers, the media would have faulted him for stoking a panic.

Sacramento County announced today that it will shift its effort to community mitigation measures that will slow the spread of COVID-19 in the community, protect those who are most vulnerable to severe illness, and allow our health care system to prepare resources to take care of severely ill patients. These new measures will include cessation of 14-day quarantines.

    The following recommendations are effective immediately, and will extend through March 31, 2020:

    Quarantine: With the shift from containment to mitigation, it is no longer necessary for someone who has been in contact with someone with COVID-19 to quarantine for 14 days. This applies to the general public, as well as health care workers and first responders. However, if they develop respiratory symptoms, they should stay home in order to protect those who are well.

  50. Deutsche Pravda – Germany puts far-right AfD’s ‘Wing’ group under surveillance

    The populist Alternative for Germany party has been accused of fueling far-right attacks with “extremist” rhetoric. Its most nationalistic “Wing” will be put under surveillance by German domestic intelligence.

    Germany’s domestic security agency will run surveillance on the far-right Alternative for Germany’s (AfD) most nationalistic group, the agency’s president announced on Thursday.

    The step designates the AfD group known as the “Wing” (“Flügel”) as a far-right extremist group warranting observation from security forces.

    “The Wing evidently has extremist intentions,” said Thomas Haldenwang, the president of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution — Germany’s domestic security agency.

    The AfD group was identified as “suspicious” by the agency in January 2019 and was already being monitored, along with the far-right party’s youth branch.

    After the far-right attack in Hanau in February, in which 11 people lost their lives, the German government saw increased calls from people across the political spectrum to put the AfD under observation. A manifesto written by the perpetrator of the attack contained anti-migrant rhetoric that echoed AfD sentiments.

    Halberwang made reference to the 12 people who died in right-wing extremist attacks in Germany in the last 12 months.

    “Behind these figures there are innocent victims — and there are also those who are responsible and those who supported them,” he told reporters.

    “We cannot repeat the past,” he said, explaining that a higher level of surveillance, especially in the digital world, could help unmask the supporters of extremism. He also referenced Germany’s murky past with far-right hate crimes.

    “The digital world leads to a disinhibition,” he said. “If people can easily consume hate in the virtual world, they will begin to act with hate in the real world.”

    He identified several members of the AfD’s Wing, including the state of Thuringia’s regional party leader Björn Höcke, as “far-right extremists.”

    AfD slams new surveillance measures

    Ahead of the official announcement, several AfD politicians condemned the move, calling it a deliberate tactic to silence the party.

    “This is a convoluted, politically motivated, anti-AfD act,” said Jörg Meuthen, spokesman for the AfD. The party has repeatedly said its activities are not unconstitutional and do not warrant observation.

    “The security agency has made a mistake with its allegations,” the party said in a statement on Wednesday.

    Höcke, who is one of the Wing’s most prominent leaders, also spoke out against the decision ahead of the announcement. The Thuringian politician said his calls for the “de-Islamization of Germany and Europe” are “not directed against the freedom of religion anchored in the constitution.”

    He said his frequent use of anti-Islam rhetoric did not call for “the collective expulsion of Muslims living in Germany, and certainly not of German citizens.”

    Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, a Wing supporter and member of the state parliament in Saxony-Anhalt, expanded on his 2017 comments comparing Islam to a fungus.

    Tillschneider said on Wednesday he would no longer draw this comparison, saying it prompts “false associations.”

    Thuringian AfD lawmaker Torben Braga denounced the new surveillance an “institutionalized attitude of snooping” after the announcement.

    How does the ‘Wing’ fit into the AfD?

    The AfD, formed in 2014, received 12.6% of the vote at the last German federal election in 2017, and has representatives in all 16 German state parliaments and in the European Parliament. Members of the party have been accused of spreading anti-Semitic, xenophobic, Islamophobic and racist rhetoric.

    The Wing was set up in 2015 in the Thuringian city of Erfurt as a nationalistic splinter group of the party. It eschews clear party lines and hierarchies and as such estimates vary as to how many AfD members and voters support the Wing.

    Reports in German media from 2019 suggest that up to 40% of AfD supporters in Germany’s former eastern states were members of the Wing.
