At least eight people are dead and six more critically hurt after gunmen opened fire on two shisha bars last night in the German city of Hanau.
One suspect, reportedly a 26-year-old man, was arrested as armed police launched a huge manhunt across the region for ‘other unknown perpetrators’ feared to be involved.
‘The hunt is in full swing,’ police said as helicopters scoured the area.
The motive for the bloodbath was unclear this morning. Local reports said Kurdish people were among the victims.
An attacker is said to have rung the bell at the Midnight shisha lounge and sprayed bullets at people inside when he was let in. He then fled the scene in a dark-coloured car before gunfire rang out at a second bar, Arena, less han two miles away.
At the Midnight bar, one witness told German newspaper Bild: ‘Someone with a gun came in and shot people.’ Other witnesses told of eight or nine shots ringing out just after 10pm local time with one man seen lying prone on the ground after the shooting.

The Trump administration is planning to retaliate for China’s expulsion Wednesday of three U.S. journalists over an editorial Beijing claimed was “racist,” escalating a clash over media access and freedoms that has broken out between the two countries.
Beijing’s expulsion of three Wall Street Journal reporters came a day after the State Department said it was imposing restrictions on five Chinese state-run news organizations operating in the United States, saying they would now be treated as the equivalent of foreign government missions.
Administration officials said the State Department and White House are working out plans to how to retaliate to China’s response.

9. South Bend Residents Warn Americans Against Voting For Buttigieg
Residents of South Bend, Indiana, are warning Americans not to vote for the city’s former Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Some have said Buttigieg did nothing about crime in the city while others noted there were a record number of homicides during his time as mayor. FBI data showed violent crimes rose from 622 to more than 1,000 during his time in office.
A South Bend city council member claimed Buttigieg was difficult to work with and did not address the struggles of the local black community.
“It was very difficult to get across to him, and also to his administration, how African Americans were living in South Bend,” stated Henry Davis Jr. “You’re talking about double digit unemployment, a very high poverty rate of over 40 percent, high crime, schools closing.”
The former mayor has also come under fire for South Bend’s homeless problem and for claiming economic wins in the city, which some said were the result of statewide initiatives.

Belmarsh prison is a large, modern prison in south-east London which handles most of the remand prisoners who on trial or awaiting trial in the capital. Among those being held there is Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, who is fighting extradition to the United States.
A murder investigation has been launched by police in London after an inmate was beaten to death at Belmarsh prison.
Police and paramedics were called at 8pm on Tuesday, 18 February, after a 36-year-old man was found with head injuries in his cell.

All free nations require a government that the public trusts, the left has spent well over half a century working to destroy the public trust in the American Government. Germany: The father of the shooter of Hanau ran for the GREEN party

In Hanau, Hesse, ten people were killed by gunfire. The suspected perpetrator, Tobias Rathjen, is also dead. The 43-year-old was found dead in his apartment this morning. According to RTL information, the police brought the perpetrator’s father, Hans-Gerd Rathjen, out of the apartment unharmed. He was routinely questioned, as reported by the magazine “Der Spiegel”. Contrary to previous reports, the 72-year-old is not a member of the Green Party, but was on the Green Party’s candidate list a few years ago.

If you think about it the typical prison guard is a guy of limited talent who still wants to have a decent-paying job with a decent pension so he can have a normal life and a family, he is not there because he has a burning desire to participate in the justice system and help the human race. In other words, he is there for the money and as such is always going to be a likely candidate for a little side-action, which is how prisoners get drugs inside among other things and how guards can retire to Costa Rica…
I’ve seen enough prison blog conversations between ex-inmates to know that there are guys who can order you dead and there is bugger all you can do about it. All they’ve got to do is offer some shot-caller a few years off his fifty-year sentence or a cell with a window and I think they could make the Warden disappear if they wanted to…

Buttigieg, Gramsci, and the Communist Culture War
In his New York Times column entitled “Why You Love Mayor Pete,” David Brooks claims that Buttigieg is so attractive because he “detaches progressive policy from the culture war.” Americans, says Brooks, “are sick of the moral melodrama altogether. They just want a person who is more about governing than virtue-signaling, more about friendliness and basic decency than media circus and rhetorical war.”
“Buttigieg’s secret,” Brooks asserts, “is that he transcends many of the tensions that run through our society in a way that makes people on all sides feel comfortable.”
And what about the Americans who don’t “feel comfortable” with a homosexual president and his “husband” occupying the White House? Never mind them, they’re just the dying homophobic minority, according to Brooksian elites who have been leading the attacks on Christian culture.
Contrary to David Brooks’ claims, Buttigieg’s candidacy is a precisely aimed culture war bomb. He was groomed from childhood for the Culture War. His father, Professor Joseph Buttigieg, who died this past January, was one of the world’s leading experts on Antonio Gramsci, the Italian communist theoretician that Marxists the world over look to for guidance on waging the war on Christian culture. We noted a decade and a half ago, in “Morality Meltdown: The Culture War Waged by America’s Liberal Elite”: “A ‘culture war’ has been raging all about us for many decades. The forces of organized decadence are waging this war according to the detailed battle plans laid out by Italian Communist theoretician Antonio Gramsci in the 1920s and ’30s. The Gramscian strategy called for a long, patient march to capture the cultural “mediating institutions”— the media, schools, universities, churches, civic organizations, publishing, and entertainment — to overturn entrenched religious and cultural values.”
Professor Buttigieg, who taught at the University of Notre Dame for nearly four decades, was no neutral, dispassionate academic studying a modern subversive movement. He was a passionate evangelist for Gramsci’s gospel of longterm, patient revolution. He was the translator and editor of the three-volume English edition of Antonio Gramsci’s Prison Notebooks. He was also a founding member of the International Gramsci Society and served as its president.
The Notre Dame professor was also a regular speaker and participant in the annual Socialist Scholars Conferences held at the City University of New York (CUNY) from 1983-2004, which brought together radical Marxists of all stripes, including hardcore leaders of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA).
