New policy could allow doctors to euthanize Alzheimer’s patients without their active consent
The government of the Canadian province of Québec is considering allowing doctors to euthanize people suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other disease where the patient is unable to provide their consent.
According to LifeSiteNews, a Canadian health minister, Danielle McCann, said at a press conference earlier this month that the recommendation to allow the practice of euthanizing patients without their consent came from an “expert panel” that spent 18 months studying the issue.
However, McCann says that Québec will launch its own non-partisan public consultation process before deciding whether to allow the practice.
“We have heard the the heartfelt appeal of Quebecers who are suffering and calling for a widening of the rules,” McCann said, the Montreal Gazette reported. “Québec society is evolving on this sensitive issue and we have a moral duty to respond. all together.”

5. Mossad helps Denmark bust 20 terrorists – report
In July, Mossad Director Yossi Cohen noted that his agency has thwarted a large number of terror attacks, especially on airliners, across the world.
The Mossad was behind successful efforts by Denmark to nab a cell of 20 terrorists planning a wave of attacks, Channel 12 reported Saturday night.
According to the report, Danish security officials arrested the terrorists and seized a variety of weapons.
While Israel previously disclosed that it had provided the intelligence to obstruct an ISIS plot to bomb a United Arab Emirates Etihad Airways flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi, Netanyahu revealed that the intelligence that broke the case was obtained through cyber tools.
He said that while he could not give specifics, the audience could “multiply by about 50” the Sydney airline terrorist plot, and that would be the number of terrorist plots worldwide (mostly by ISIS) that Israel has helped to prevent thanks to its cyber intelligence powers.

“Minister for Justice and Equality Charlie Flanagan has called on the people to vote yes to remove the crime of blasphemy from our Constitution next week.
The Fine Gael Minister said blasphemy has no place in the modern Constitution of a democratic society.
“In our 2016 General Election Manifesto, as part of a package of constitutional reforms, Fine Gael promised that in Government we would hold a referendum proposing to remove the offence of blasphemy from the Constitution,” Minister Flanagan said.
“We are doing that now. The referendum will take place on Friday, 26 October, the same day as the Presidential election,” Minister Flanagan said.
“Fine Gael wants the crime of blasphemy removed from our Constitution. It is time for this to be changed with a ‘Yes’ vote.
“We believe that freedom of belief and expression are important values in a democratic society. Criminalising blasphemy is not consistent with these values.
“Ireland is a country that respects religious diversity and religious freedom at home and around the world. We speak out when countries sentence ‘blasphemers’ to death, violent punishment or imprisonment.
“Our voice will be stronger if we remove blasphemy from our Constitution. Blasphemy has no place in the modern Constitution of a democratic society.
“Recent polls show there is no room for complacency and every vote will be important.
“My message to anyone who believes the crime of blasphemy doesn’t belong in our Constitution is please vote. Don’t assume others will get this referendum proposal passed for you.
“Have your voice heard on October 26th and vote ‘Yes’ vote yes to remove blasphemy from our Constitution,” Minister Flanagan concluded.”

A public consultation has been launched to update Ireland’s law regulating hate speech.
The consultation phase will run to 13 December, while a second phase dealing with hate crime will be published in the new year.
