4. And here is proof of what we all already knew. This article is from 2014. But its important to understand the leftist (and likely OPEC) attacks on the Canadian oil industry crushing and dividing our country and Trudeau is on the enemy’s side. And its hard to resist a chance to post Lynyrd Skynyrd telling Neil Young, the low information millionaire, who sells more sanctimony than music where exactly he can get off.

First Nations chief received $55,000 from Tides Foundation

A left-wing lobby group in San Francisco wired $55,000 to the bank account of an Indian chief in Northern Alberta, paying him to oppose the oilsands.

 

And sure enough, that chief – Allan Adam, from the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation – earned his money. Last weekend, he flew to Toronto to sit on a stage next to Neil Young, the folk singer who was in town to demonize Canada’s oil industry.

 

Now, $55,000 might sound like a lot of money to pay, just to rent a politician for a day if all the chief did for his money was to appear on stage in Toronto beside Neil Young. But to the Tides Foundation, it’s well worth it. Think of Adam as an actor, hired to play a part in an elaborate theatrical production.

 

Neil Young had his role: he’s the American celebrity who can draw crowds of fawning Baby Boomer journalists. But at the end of the day, he’s just another millionaire celebrity. When he talks about the oilsands, he quickly reveals himself as a low-information know-nothing.

5. Why the RCMP should not have guns but the public should.

(The title refers to the grotesque and undemocratic double standards the public is held to Vs. the RCMP which appear to have nearly no accountability based on this, High River and a few other incidents.)

Toronto, Ontario. Wednesday, October 30th, 2019. Sherway Gardens shopping mall. 7:30pm.

 

An unidentified RCMP member places his or her black satchel containing their RCMP-issue handgun and 3 spare magazines of ammunition on a chair somewhere inside the shopping mall.

 

He or she then leaves it on that chair, unattended, for over 2 hours.

 

At 9:45 they returned to discover someone stole the satchel.

Toronto Police Services is investigating the theft. They have little chance of finding the thief or the stolen handgun unless there was video surveillance of the chair in question during that 2-hour window.

Obvious questions arise.

1. Will the RCMP member be charged with a criminal offence?
2. Will the RCMP member face an internal disciplinary hearing?
3. Will we ever learn the identity of this as-yet unnamed RCMP member?

My answers, based on decades of writing about similar cases, are No, Maybe and No.

 

Now, if a mere citizen left a loaded handgun with 3 spare magazines of ammunition lying on a chair in a shopping mall, and they held a valid Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) the answer to questions 1 and 3 would be “Yes. Without question.”

9. Ottawa: RARE RULING: Judge spares pimps mandatory minimum for trafficking of minors

In a rare ruling, an Ottawa judge has spared two pimps the mandatory minimum prison term for human trafficking involving minors, calling it cruel and unusual punishment as the pimps only groomed their teenage victims for the sex trade, and had not yet fully exploited them.

 

The Ottawa pimps, Amina Ahmed, 33, and Nadia Ngoto, 36, met their last human trafficking victims early on the morning of July 21, 2016.

 

They invited the two vulnerable runaway girls, aged 14 and 15, into their car only to bring them to a hotel room and ply them with booze and drugs. They were then brought to an Ottawa apartment, where they were dressed up and told how to pose for photographs that would quickly be posted to a money-for-sex website.

 

The young girls then found themselves in a room full of strange, older Ottawa men who started touching them in a sexual manner. The girls were told they weren’t friendly enough, and the men became frustrated. In turn, an element of fear was introduced when the girls were told not to “piss us off” and that they needed to “behave.”

(This must be one of the unusual examples where the word, “unique” could have been used accurately and instead, the Sun chose to use “rare”, when people typically use unique to mean rare. I suspect the judge’s ruling was unique for Canada but increasingly less so when muslims are the perps.)
