Paris police attacker had suffered ‘psychotic fit’, says wife
The wife of a police employee who killed four colleagues at the Paris force’s HQ says he had a psychotic episode, was incoherent and heard voices the night before, reports say.
Mickaël Harpon, 45, was shot dead by police at the scene.
His wife, who is in police custody but not charged, told police that he had a disagreement with his bosses, according to French media.
French officials are trying to establish a motive for the killings. [bm]
Police union officials have also suggested that Harpon may have been involved in a workplace dispute.
The BBC deliberately fails to mention a number of points that are well known at the time of publication.
A. He smuggled a ceramic knife in that would pass the metal detectors, and likely had to modify that knife as most ceramic knives do have metal in the handles to trigger metal detectors.
B. The “disagreement” at work was about working with women and shaking hands with women.
C. He had converted to Islam 18 months before this attack. (This is said but far down the page and couple with “no sign of radicalization”)
D. His wife was also arrested by Paris police.
E. semi-related, this man worked with IT at the French counter-terrorism HQ for the whole country. France is in a mild state of panic as they do not know how much information from their whole counter-terrorism program was leaked to islamic or other terror groups, as this man worked with IT in a secured area. Also, once it becomes more wifely known, French security will rightfully be seen as a joke and will likely diminish its role and trust level with international counter-terrorism. Nations do not just die, they commit suicide. France lost its will to live decades ago, it has no inner core or identity. Time to shut off life support. Its been a joke for decades. Germany, Sweden and the UK are not far behind. Its 50-50 in the USA.
A neighbor reports that Harpon was up at about 3 am yelling Allahu Akhbar the morning before the killings.But, of course, the motive is unknown. What would be helpful is if outraged French cops publicly condemned the fake narrative of searching for a motive. Four of their own were killed by a jihadist. It’s time to stand up and be counted.

Computer records have now linked Harpon to a ‘radical Islamist group’
His wife Iham Harpon remains in custody and is believed to have offered evidence against her husband
His wife, Iham, was arrested soon afterwards and told detectives that Harpon had ‘heard voices’ and was ‘incoherent and suffered a dementia attack’ the night before.
Now, following a raid on the couple’s flat in the Paris suburb on Gonesse, anti-terrorist prosecutors in the French capital have opened an enquiry for ‘assassination of a public servant in relation to a terrorist enterprise, attempted assassination of a public servant in relation to a terrorist enterprise, and conspiracy in terrorism’.
Computer records and telephone intercepts have linked Harpon to a ‘radical Islamist group’ such as ISIS of Al-Qaeda, said a source close to the case.
Iham Harpon remains in custody, and is also believed to have offered evidence against her husband.
The couple were both registered as profoundly deaf, and have two children aged nine and three.
Iham is now communicating with officers through sign language, making her interview ‘very complicated,’ said the source.
Harpon, who originally came from the French overseas territory of Martinique, stabbed a senior officer and three guardians of the peace to death.
They have been identified as General Damien E., 50, Brice L., 38, Anthony L., also 38, and Aurelia T., 39.

The nature of the attack corresponded with similar ones carried out by terrorists affiliated to ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

‘Many of those involved in similar attacks on the police have been Muslim converts influenced by radical terrorist groups,’ said the source.
