This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

A bombshell revelation was barely noticed at National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s hearing Tuesday, when his counsel revealed in court the existence of a Justice Department memo from Jan. 30, 2017 exonerating Flynn of any collusion with Russia. The memo, which has still not been made available to Flynn’s attorney Sidney Powell, is part of a litany of Brady material she is demanding from prosecutors. The memo is currently under protective order and Powell is working with prosecutors to get it disclosed, SaraACarter.com has learned.

    U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan presided over the hearing Tuesday and set a tentative Dec. 18 sentencing date. He told the prosecution and defense that the sentencing date could be moved depending on the outcome of requests for Brady material requested by Powell and how the case will unfold in the upcoming months. Sullivan also noted during the hearing that the Brady order takes precedence over the plea agreement.

  14. HUDSON – A superior court judge was released without bail on Monday after she was arraigned in Marlborough District Court on domestic assault charges.

    Hudson Police arrested Shannon Frison, 49, on Sunday after the 7:30 p.m. incident.

    Frisson is a judge in the Massachusetts superior court system. She was appointed by Gov. Deval Patrick in 2013. She sits in Worcester Superior Court, according to published reports.

    According to authorities, police went to Chestnut Street and Brook Street for a report of two women fighting. Authorities found the victim walking in the road and said Frison had assaulted her and left in the victim’s car. The relationship of the women was not disclosed by the Middlesex district attorney’s office.

    Police later arrested Frison and charged her with domestic assault and battery.

    U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham is under pressure to apologize publicly for posing for a photograph over the weekend with Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician known widely for his hostility towards immigrants and Islam.

    “The vile anti-Muslim bigotry spewed by Mr. Wilders stands at odds with the values of religious freedom and pluralism that Senator Graham took an oath to defend,” Robert McCaw, the government affairs director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said in a statement Monday evening.

    “Senator Graham must immediately apologize for appearing in this photo and issue a strong repudiation of the vile, Islamophobic views endorsed by Mr. Wilders,” McCaw continued. “American Muslims in South Carolina and across the country will be watching.”

  18. The Democratic National Committee has taken its stand, and it’s against orthodox Christianity. It passed a resolution last Saturday calling for the Party to be more inclusive toward non-believers. On its own that’s not remarkable. But the document also strongly denounces Christian belief and action.

    The key paragraph:

    Those most loudly claiming that morals, values, and patriotism must be defined by their particular religious views have used those religious views, with misplaced claims of “religious liberty,” to justify public policy that has threatened the civil rights and liberties of many Americans, including but not limited to the LGBT community, women, and ethnic and religious/nonreligious minorities …

    The party’s hostility toward Christian beliefs and values was clear enough before. Putting it on paper this way, however, raises the message to another level.

    A decade ago, I was experimenting with an “old” genre of journalism. It was a merger of Andy Bichlbaum’s agitprop street theater group “The Yes Men,” meets Mike Wallace meets Borat.

    After combining ideas from Tom Wolfe’s “Mau Mauing the Flak Catchers,” Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, and studying Hunter S. Thompson’s work, I was inspired to change the world. This strange brew of inputs ultimately lead me to undercover investigative journalism. Rush Limbaugh would later describe what we do as “getting them on video tape being who they are. Therefore, no explanation is required.” This new frontier of journalism became my life’s work.

    It started in college with a Gonzo campaign to ban the breakfast cereal Lucky Charms from Rutgers dining halls because it was an “affront” to Irish-Americans everywhere. Later, my gang of merry pranksters headed to Boston to ask citizens if they would “Adopt A Loving Gitmo Detainee.”

    Next came a shocking phone call to a Planned Parenthood office. Posing as a donor I suggested, “The less black kids out there the better.” The Planned Parenthood worker said, “We’ll accept the money.”

    But what ultimately created the movement that would become Project Veritas was a Facebook message from an inspired young woman I had never met. After a string of messages, she stated almost as an afterthought, “P.S. have you ever done undercover stuff with ACORN housing?”

    To be honest, I didn’t even know what ACORN was.

    “Open borders activists have criticised the “fascist rhetoric” and “deeply worrying” new vice president commissioner role of “Protecting Our European Way of Life” — despite the role focusing on integrating migrants and working on a new EU asylum pact, not stopping mass migration.

    The next European Commission president and former German defence minister Ursula von der Leyen has revealed nominations for a new college of eight vice presidents, naming Greek former Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas as the vice president for Protecting Our European Way of Life, a role intended to respond to the rising number of migrants in the bloc that have been arriving since the 2015 migrant crisis.

    Leftists have immediately attacked the job title, claiming protecting the European way of life, as it is phrased, is “fascist rhetoric”.

    Labour’s London MEP Claude Moraes told the i newspaper that the job title was “deeply worrying and deeply insulting”, saying: “I will challenge this designation in the upcoming Commissioner hearings because it goes against any idea of an open and inclusive Europe and uses the phraseology of an authoritarian Europe which we have long left behind.”

    Amnesty EU said: “Linking migration with security in the portfolio of the ‘Commissioner for Protecting our European Way of Life’ risks sending a worrying message. People who have migrated have contributed to the way of life in Europe throughout its history.”

    British Green MEP Molly Scott Cato told the Independent news website: “This looks like the portfolio to fight back against the rise of the fascists, but only by adopting their divisive rhetoric around ‘strong borders’.

    “What Greens value about our European way of life is our role as a beacon of compassion and diversity. We will continue our work to ensure that Europe remains a safe harbour for those fleeing persecution and to champion global human rights.”

    While Dutch liberal MEP Sophie in ‘t Veld said: “The implication that Europeans need to be protected from external cultures is grotesque and this narrative should be rejected.”

    However, as the mission letter to Mr Schinas outlines, the role is not focused on strengthening external borders and increasing the deportation of illegals as the first response to the migrant crisis, but protecting the bloc’s progressive-globalist “European Values” through institutionalising the welcoming and integration of migrants from the developing world — formulating under a new job title essentially what Brussels has been working towards for years.

    Citing a “declining workforce” and “basic skills gap” in Europe, Mrs von der Leyen tasked the new vice president with “focus[ing] on creating pathways to legal migration to help us bring in people with the skills and talents our economy and labour market need”.

    Mr Schinas will also be expected to “coordinate the work on inclusion” of migrants, and “lead the Commission’s work on making our communities more united and cohesive. As part of this, you will coordinate the work on improving the integration of migrants and refugees into society.”

    The president-elect wrote to the Greek Eurocrat that he will be in charge of developing a new asylum policy, likely to mean some form of EU-wide migration rules and forced migrant redistribution, something the bloc has been attempting to agree upon since more than one million migrants from the Middle East were welcomed into the EU by Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel four years ago.

    Hinting at right-populist and conservative governments in eastern Europe that reject mass migration as the solution to demographic decline, the German said the vice-presidential nominee would be “building bridges between those most entrenched” to find “common ground” which would result in “a New Pact on Migration and Asylum”.

    “We need to look at all aspects, including external borders, systems for asylum and return, the Schengen Area of free movement and working with our partners outside the EU,” she continued.

    Further in the letter, she added that his role would contribute to formulating an EU-wide “European Security Union” — likely meant to complement the European Defence Union, a favourite project of von der Leyen, and the first step towards an EU army.”

    Qanus island is near the U.S. forward operating base in Qayyarah.

    “The United States on Tuesday joined Israel in alleging “possible undeclared nuclear activities” by Iran, further straining European-led attempts to salvage a multinational deal.

    Iran denounced the accusations leveled on Monday by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that the clerical regime operated a previously undisclosed site aimed at developing nuclear weapons but destroyed it after it was detected.

    US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, without directly referencing Netanyahu, urged Iran to comply with the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency.

    “The Iranian regime’s lack of full cooperation with @iaeaorg raises questions about possible undeclared nuclear material or activities,” Pompeo tweeted.

    “The world won’t fall for it. We will deny the regime all paths to a nuclear weapon.”

    Separately, the US said it was “totally unacceptable” for Iran to drag its feet in cooperating with the IAEA, which is seeking answers to issues that diplomats say include the discovery of uranium traces at an undeclared site.

    The agency, which is policing Iran’s nuclear deal with major powers, has called in recent days on Iran to step up its cooperation, warning “time is of the essence”.

    While the watchdog has declined to comment on what prompted the warning, diplomats told Reuters inspectors had found traces of uranium at a site in Iran which Israel has described as a “secret atomic warehouse”.

    “Any indication that Iran is providing insufficient cooperation to the IAEA on a matter involving potential undeclared nuclear material or activities raises serious and profound questions,” the US statement to a quarterly IAEA Board of Governors meeting said.

    “Iran’s failure to resolve the Agency’s concerns on this matter is completely unacceptable and should be of deep concern to all who support the IAEA and its safeguards verification regime.”

    Iran has guaranteed the IAEA access to its nuclear program as part of a 2015 deal with world powers under which Tehran accepted curbs on its atomic activities in return for access to world trade.

    The United States withdrew from the agreement last year and imposed sanctions on Iran with the aim of halting its oil exports and forcing Tehran to negotiate a more sweeping “comprehensive deal”.

    Iran has said it will negotiate only if Washington lifts the sanctions. In the meantime, it has begun breaching some of the deal’s restrictions on its atomic activities, in what it calls a step-by-step, reversible response to the US withdrawal and the failure of European countries to protect it from US measures.

    The IAEA’s acting chief Cornel Feruta has traveled to Tehran in recent days. He said his call to step up cooperation was “very well understood” by Iranian officials he met. His agency has declined to comment on the specifics of its questions as they are confidential.

    “Any potential delay, denial, or deception by Iran that inhibits the IAEA’s essential safeguards verification work must be addressed immediately,” the US statement said.

    “Refusal by Iran to do so will only underscore our concern that the matters before us may relate to serious questions regarding Iran’s compliance with its safeguards obligations.””

    “Britain summoned on Tuesday the Iranian ambassador to condemn a clear breach of the assurances it was given over the oil cargo of the tanker Adrian Darya 1, which had previously been detained for breaching EU sanctions.

    “Iran has shown complete disregard for its own assurances over Adrian Darya 1,” foreign minister Dominic Raab said in a statement, accusing Iran of reneging on a promise not to transfer oil from the tanker to Syria.

    “This sale of oil to (Bashar) Assad’s brutal regime is part of a pattern of behavior by the government of Iran designed to disrupt regional security,” he said.

    This includes illegally supplying weapons to Houthi militias in Yemen, support for the Hezbollah party in Lebanon and most recently its attempts to hijack commercial ships passing through the Gulf, he added.

    “We want Iran to come in from the cold but the only way to do that is to keep its word and comply with the rules based international system.”

    The Adrian Darya 1, formerly known as the Grace 1, was carrying 2.1 million barrels of Iranian crude oil worth some $130 million.

    New satellite photos obtained Tuesday showed the tanker, which is pursued by the US, remains off the coast of Syria.

    Iranian Foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi was quoted as saying the ship has unloaded its cargo, without elaborating.

    Gibraltar earlier seized and held the tanker for weeks on suspicion of the tanker breaking European Union sanctions on Syria. The British territory later released the vessel after authorities there said Iran promised the oil would not go to Syria.”

    “Thirty-four migrants including women and a small child who had been rescued by a German sailboat were successfully transferred to a larger humanitarian ship during a thunderstorm in international waters north of Libya.

    The transfer happened late Monday about 120 kilometers (75 miles) off the Libyan coast, near the Bouri offshore oil field.

    The 22 men, six women, and a 1-year-old boy had been rescued earlier in the day from a rubber boat with a broken engine by the crew of a 14-meter-long sailboat operated by the German charity Resqship.

    Wrapped in shiny thermal blankets, the migrants were transferred in pouring rain to the much larger Ocean Viking after the sailboat declared a state of emergency.

    There are now more than 80 migrants on the ship, which rescued 50 others over the weekend.

    In a related development, African refugees being held in detention in Libya will be evacuated to Rwanda under an agreement reached with Kigali and the African Union, the UN refugee agency UNHCR said on Tuesday…”

    “The United States on Tuesday announced sanctions on a “wide range of terrorists and their supporters,” including the Palestinian group Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, on the eve of the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

    The targets include 15 leaders, individuals and entities affiliated with groups such as Hamas, Al-Qaeda, Daesh (the so-called IS) and Iran’s IRGC, the US Treasury Department said in a statement.

    The sanctions were applied using new tools from an executive order recently updated by President Donald Trump.

    “Since the horrific attacks of 9/11, the US government has refocused its counterterrorism efforts to constantly adapt to emerging threats,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in the statement.

    “President Trump’s modernized counterterrorism Executive Order enhances the authorities we use to target the finances of terror groups and their leaders to ensure they are as robust as possible,” Mnuchin said.

    Sanctioned leaders include Turkey-based Zaher Jabarin, the head of Hamas’s financial office; and Muhammad Sa’id Izadi, the chief of the IRGC-Quds Force’s Palestinian office in Lebanon.

    The targets also included a Brazil-based Al-Qaeda member, a Maldivian national who recruits for Daesh branch active in Afghanistan, and an operative of Daesh affiliate in the Philippines, the statement said.

    Several exchange houses, and a jewelry company in southern Turkey, were also designated by the Treasury.

    The sanctions mean any property the targets may have in the United States would be blocked and US persons would generally be prohibited from having business dealings with them. — Reuters”

    “A rocket was fired at the Afghan defence ministry complex in the capital Kabul in the early hours of Wednesday, on the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but no one was hurt, an official said.

    “A rocket hit a wall at the defence ministry, with no casualties reported,” interior ministry spokesman Nosrat Rahimi said in a statement.

    The strike occurred just after midnight.

    It was the first in the Afghan capital since US President Donald Trump announced at the weekend that talks with the Taliban aimed at a withdrawal of US troops were “dead”.

    On Tuesday, the insurgents pledged to continue fighting and warned that Washington would regret abandoning the negotiations.

    The September 11, 2001 attacks on US targets prompted the US-led invasion of Afghanistan, which toppled the Taliban regime.

    Last week, Kabul was the scene of two attacks claimed by the Taliban that killed more than two dozen people.”

    “Egyptian authorities have arrested 16 Muslim Brotherhood members associated with plans by the group’s fugitive leaders in Turkey to undermine the country’s security and economy, the interior ministry said.

    The suspects were arrested in Egypt after the National Security service uncovered a plot by the fugitives intended to harm the economy and carry out a series of attacks against the police, military and judiciary to create chaos in the country, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

    The plan allegedly involved setting up secret networks designed to smuggle foreign currency and wanted Brotherhood members out of the country to Europe through Turkey, and to offer financial support to Brotherhood members in Egypt to carry out violent attacks.

    The ministry named four fugitives who it said have been identified by authorities as the orchestrators of the plot. Sixteen other Brotherhood members based in Egypt and linked to the plan have been arrested, it said.

    Egypt designated the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organisation in 2013, months after the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi following mass protests against his one-year rule.”

    “The Spanish rescue mission, Salvamento Marítimo, rescued 79 immigrants, including 10 women and two minors on September 9.

    The immigrants were on a boat located in the waters of the Alboran Sea near the Moroccan coast, reports the EFE news agency.

    According to a spokesman for Maritime Rescue, an NGO alerted rescuers to the presence of the boat after a warning from the Moroccan authorities stating that they had rescued a ‘patera’ carrying 61 people.

    The NGO alerted the Almería coordination center that three boats had left the coast of Morocco.

    The rescuers deployed a Frontex plane to locate the first boat. However, the Spanish maritime services are still searching for the two other boats.

    The NGO told the Spanish coastguard that neither of the two missing boats corresponds to the one rescued by Moroccan authorities.”

    “Turkey cannot bear a new influx of migrants from Syria, Turkish president said in the capital Ankara on Tuesday.

    “We expect from the U.S. to stand with us in our efforts on fighting terrorism and on establishing safe zones for migrants,” Erdogan said at a reception, which was held as part of U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’ visit to Turkey.

    On Aug. 7, Turkish and U.S. military officials agreed to set up a safe zone in northern Syria and develop a peace corridor to facilitate the movement of displaced Syrians who want to return home. They also agreed to establish a joint operations center.

    The agreement also envisaged setting up necessary security measures to address Turkey’s security concerns — including clearing the zone of the terrorist YPG/PKK, a group the U.S. has sometimes been allied with.

    Speaking about bilateral trade with the U.S., the Turkish president said he discussed with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump on initiating negotiations on free trade agreement, adding related ministers from both countries would start working on it soon.

  50. Satirical party runs own candidate named Maxime Bernier in PPC leader’s riding

    Voters in Quebec’s Beauce federal electoral district will have two Maxime Berniers to choose from when they head to the polls this October.

    On Tuesday, the Rhinoceros Party, a federal satirical party, announced its plan to run a candidate of the same name as the People’s Party of Canada leader in the riding he currently holds.

    “There are many people who tell me: I want to vote for Maxime Bernier, and I want to vote Rhinoceros! Well, I offer them an option so that they can vote Rhino and Bernier!” said party leader Sébastien Corriveau.

    The candidate’s slogan? “Take a chance, vote for both!”

    Among the Rhinoceros candidate’s promises for Beauce is a pledge to build more Beauce ridings across Canada.

    “I love Beauce. It is a people of workers, entrepreneurs, people who start a lot of small local businesses,” said the Rhino’s Bernier. It’s a model for Canada, and I want to export Beaucerons all across Canada to open up lots of little Beauce!”

    Other “promises” made by the Rhino Party include mandatory vasectomies for men over the age of 16, reducing the length of winter by making December and January 28-day months, and helping victims of identity theft by “providing a new name and a new date of birth to citizens who request it.”

    The Rhino party was founded by Corriveau in 2006 and is recognized by Elections Canada. It promises not to keep any of its promises if elected.
