1. Some aspects of the EU for which the vast majority of British subjects are not aware

***UPDATE*** a solid source has confirmed that the allegations of the UK signing its military assets, all of them, over to the EU is what is being planned.

2. Brooklyn Man, Alleged ISIS Sniper, Indicted for Aiding Terror Group

Brooklyn man originally from Kazakhstan has been indicted on terrorism charges after allegedly having been a sniper and weapons trainer for ISIS and once boasting he supported “the worst terrorist organization in the world.”

Department of Justice officials announced on Wednesday, Sept. 4 that a five-count indictment had been filed in federal court in Brooklyn the previous day charging 43-year-old Ruslan Maratovich Asainov with terrorism-related crimes.

Asainov, a naturalized U.S. citizen, spent from 1998 to 2013 living in Brooklyn before flying to Turkey in December 2013 and making his way into Syria, where he became a sniper for ISIS, a criminal complaint said. He rose through the ranks and became an “emir” in the terror group.

Prosecutors said he also tried to recruit another individual to travel from the United States to Syria to fight for ISIS. According to a complaint unsealed in Brooklyn federal court in July and cited by Fox News, Asainov allegedly tried to entice an informant working with the NYPD’s intelligence division to join ISIS, telling the informant he would help him find a job, housing, food and $50 a month.

3. Female Iranian soccer fan isolates herself after getting a 6 month jail sentence for trying to go to a game

An Iranian woman detained for dressing as a man to sneak into a soccer stadium to watch a match has died after setting herself on fire upon learning she could spend six months in prison, semi-official news outlets reported Tuesday.

The self-immolation death of 29-year-old Sahar Khodayari has shocked Iranian officials and the public, becoming an immediate hashtag trend across social media in the Islamic Republic.

It also comes as FIFA is working with Iranian authorities to overcome a ban on women entering stadiums for men’s games, a ban in place since the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. FIFA wants the issue resolved before Oct. 10 when Iran — the top-ranked team in Asia — hosts its first home World Cup qualifier against Cambodia.

5. Animal slaughter ruling in Belgium stirs religious freedom debate

(Religious slaughter laws control halal abattoirs the way gun control laws control gangsters)

Brussels and Wallonia, Belgium – Inside his Brussels office, animal rights activist Michel Vandenbosch opens a large book he wrote about the Global Action in the Interest of Animals, or GAIA, Belgium’s leading animal rights organisation.

Vandenbosch, its president, points to photos of a 2014 rally in Belgium’s capital, attended by thousands of people calling for a national ban on slaughtering animals such as cattle, sheep and goats without stunning them first.

“When you cut an animal’s throat, without stunning, it still feels pain,” said Vandenbosch.

GAIA produced a video showing animals contorting after a knife cuts the blood vessels in the neck.

“If you take the scientific evidence really seriously, then these kinds of habits should change.”

An excellent example of why we all need good internet security and some solid advice on how to get it.

  1. 1 – I wonder how many of the British Military would swear an oath of loyalty to Brussels? I know the vast majority of US forces wouldn’t change their oath from the US Constitution and a foreign capital.
