Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Interior Ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi told The Associated Press there was no immediate information on the cause of the blast. Both the Taliban and a local affiliate of the Islamic State group carry out bloody attacks in the capital.

      “An explosion reportedly occurred at the Dubai City wedding hall, located in the Darulaman area of the Afghan capital city of Kabul, prompting people to leave the targeted area.

      Spokesman for the Interior Ministry Nusrat Rahimi said earlier, cited by Reuters, that the “the blast caused civilian casualties”, adding that multiple people were injured.

      According to the Tolo News media outlet, citing sources, at least 40 people were killed and more than a hundred people were injured as a result of an explosion that took place at a wedding hall in Kabul.

      The interior ministry said Sunday, cited by Reuters, that a suicide bomber killed 63 people and wounded 182 in an attack on a wedding reception in the Afghan capital on Saturday night.

      Eyewitnesses shared earlier photos and video from the site where the explosion allegedly occurred.

      According to the earlier statement of the Italian-run Emergency hospital of Kabul, at least 20 people were wounded in the blast.

      “Devastated by the news of a suicide attack inside a wedding hall in Kabul. A heinous crime against our people; how is it possible to train a human and ask him to go and blow himself (up) inside a wedding?”, spokesman for President Ashraf Ghani, Sediq Seddiqi said, cited by AP.

      Kabul’s huge wedding halls are reportedly centres of community life in a city with large amounts of money spent on a single evening…”

    “Pakistani intelligence officials say a roadside bomb attack has killed two army soldiers in the country’s northwest.

    The officials say the planted bomb exploded Saturday afternoon when a security forces vehicle was patrolling in Ladha area of South Waziristan.

    The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to media.

    No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack but past such attacks have been claimed by Pakistani Taliban…”

    “German police say a man and a woman were fatally stabbed at a crowded train station in the town of Iserlohn in what was described as an “act of relationship violence.” The incident was the third fatal attack at a German train station within a month.

    The dpa news agency reported Saturday that police had arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the attack on the woman, 32, and another man, who was 23. The station was full of people at the time, police said, including a wedding party of around 20 people. The suspect surrendered to police at the scene without resisting.

    Police said in a statement that investigators found no reason to consider the attack as anything other than a case of domestic violence.

    The killings follow two other widely reported homicides at train stations in Germany. An 8-year-old boy died July 29 after being pushed in front of a train in Frankfurt; police say the suspect, a 40-year-old Eritrean residing in Switzerland, had been under psychiatric treatment. On July 20, a 34-year-old woman was pushed in front of a train in Voerde. She and the 28-year-old suspect weren’t acquainted.

    After the Frankfurt killing, Interior Minister Horst Seehofer called for more police at train stations and more security cameras in public places.”

    “Indian security forces injured at least six people on Saturday in Srinagar, the main city in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir, as several protests broke out against New Delhi’s revocation of the region’s autonomy last week.

    In New York, the U.N. Security Council held its first meeting in almost 50 years on Kashmir, a majority Muslim region claimed by both India and Pakistan – which controls its western third. However, China, which also controls a small part of Kashmir, failed to secure a Council statement.

    Two police officials and eyewitnesses said clashes had begun on Friday evening.

    Some city residents said they had been assaulted or verbally abused and that security forces had caused damage as they raided homes after stone-throwing incidents in the past two days.

    Jammu and Kashmir state officials and federal government officials in New Delhi did not respond to the allegations or give any estimates of the number of stone-throwing incidents, raids, arrests or injuries.

    The state government said its spokesman Rohit Kansal had told a news conference in Srinagar that the situation remained “peaceful, with no untoward incident reported from the areas where relaxation was given in prohibitory orders”.

    It was not immediately clear whether this included the areas of Srinagar where clashes took place on Friday night and Saturday…”

  13. Epstein Butler Alfredo Rodriguez Served More Time in Prison than Epstein – He Died Before Disclosing Location of Epstein’s Black Book

    Alfredo Rodriguez, who was Jeffrey Epstein’s houseman for many years, passed away in 2015 at age 60.

    Rodriguez served prison time after refusing to hand over Epstein’s book in 2011 and attempting to sell it for over £30,000

    Rodriguez kept a “black book” that included details on “the full scope and the extent of Epstein’s involvement with underage girls.”

    When he died the location of the black book died with him. The location of the document was never disclosed.

    Rodriquez was charged with a felony and served 18 months in prison for attempting to sell the book.

    Epstein only served 13 months for his crime of prostituting dozens if not hundreds of children to the global elites.

    Investigative reporter Mike Cernovich has been leading the efforts to bring Jeffrey Epstein to justice the past two years.

    • No first use isn’t dead, but it’s now meaningless
      A policy of no first use is, in fact, a promise not to do something in the future: not to use nuclear weapons first in a conflict.

      Defence Minister Rajnath Singh decided to mark the one year anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death by making some news. He not only went to Pokhran, the site of each of India’s nuclear tests, to visit “the area which witnessed Atal ji’s firm resolve to make India a nuclear power”, but also to remind everyone of Vajpayee’s commitment to the doctrine of nuclear no first use. That doctrine, Singh assured his listeners, had been “strictly adhered to” up until now, but he then ominously emphasized, “What happens in future depends on the circumstances.” This was not a formal change in doctrine or policy, yet, but it is an unmistakable and remarkable policy statement.

      A policy of no first use is, in fact, a promise not to do something in the future: not to use nuclear weapons first in a conflict. Nuclear use is not something considered on any normal day, so a policy of no first use is a commitment that even in the deepest crisis or war, even if a country had reason to fear an adversary might use nuclear weapons imminently, even if a country might benefit from nuclear first use, that the country commits to forgo that option. Rajnath Singh was telling the world that while India intended no first use today, nothing binds it to doing so tomorrow. In so doing, Rajnath Singh was in fact saying that a commitment that originated with Vajpayee wasn’t much of a commitment at all.

    • The statement by the Indian Defense MInister is pretty much a warning for Pakistan to not push too hard because India may decide on a decapitation strike using Nukes.

      As I have said before this is one of the two locations with the best chance of being involved in a nuclear exchange. What we need to know is how much of this is just posturing for the internal audience and how much is a real threat?

      The world is moving towards a major war and I don’t know of anything that can be done to stop the movement. If we surrender to the enemies of freedom on any front or issue they will just start pushing us harder.

    Dopo lo sbarco dei minori dalla Open Arms, dal Viminale e soprattutto dal ministro Salvini vengono sollevati alcuni dubbi sull’effettiva età dei ragazzi e delle ragazze che hanno lasciato la nave dell’ong spagnola ferma a largo di Lampedusa.

    Già questo pomeriggio, il ministro Salvini aveva parlato di “presunti minori” nel corso delle operazioni di sbarco che come è noto sono state autorizzate dal Viminale dopo la richiesta del premier Giuseppe Conte. Lo sbarco dei minorenni infatti ha dato vita ad uno scontro durissimo tra il premier e il vicepremier. Prima la lettera di Conte in cui è stato chiesto lo sbarco, poi la risposta di Salvini che ha parlato di “scelta personale del premier” acconsentendo allo sbarco. E così, mentre sono in corso le operazioni di identificazione dei migranti sbarcati a Lampedusa, Salvini esprime tutte le sue perplessità: “Mentre altri cedono, la mia posizione non cambia. E come i presunti “malati” non erano malati sono curioso di vedere i presunti “minori”…”, ha affermato il titolare del Viminale. La ong ha comunicato al tribunale dei minori che sono: due di 15 anni, undici di 16 e quattordici di 17 anni. 26 ragazzi e una ragazza. E dopo le procedure di identificazione è emerso, coeme riporta il Viminale, che in otto hanno affermato di avere più di 18 anni. Di fatto sull’età dei ragazzi che sono sbarcati a Lampedusa potrebbe aprirsi un nuovo terreno di battaglia tra il Viminale e Palazzo Chigi. Già nelle scorse ore è scoppiata la polemica per le parole del medico di Lampedusa che non ha rilevato particolari patologie sui migranti che sono sbarcati in questi giorni per motivi di salute. A bordo della nave è stata dunque eseguita una ispezione sanitaria per chiarire quali sono le condizioni dei migranti. E in questo quadro restano a bordo dell’imbarcazione spagnola almeno un centinaio di migranti. L’ong sta andando in pressing su palazzo Chigi per ottenere lo sbarco di tutti i migranti.

    Ma per il momento l’operazione di sbarco è stata accordata solo ai minorenni. A bordo è rimasto un solo minore accompagnato. Salvini non cede sulla sua linea dei porti chiusi e di fatto per il momento non ha dato il via libera per lo sbarco a terra di tutti i migranti presenti sulla Open Arms. Sullo sfondo però c’è un altro problema per il Viminale che risponde al nome di Ocean Viking. La nave di Msf e Sos Mediterranèe dopo aver lasciato le acque libiche ha fatto rotta in direzione Malta-Italia. Anche in questo caso potrebbe esserci un grande braccio di ferro. Ma nel caso della nave battente bandiera norvegese, la crisi potrebbe essere più pesante: a bordo ci sono più di 350 migranti.

    “In a recent survey, the Egyptian National Centre for Criminal and Social Studies has found that 25 per cent of Egyptians suffer from mental illnesses due to the country’s high rate of poverty, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported yesterday.

    The survey found that the economic situation in the country pushed many Egyptians who suffer from mental illnesses to use drugs, while others consider committing suicide or carry out “dangerous crimes”.

    According to the results of the survey, 60 per cent of those suffering mental illnesses consider committing suicide, while 20 per cent think of carrying out “dangerous crimes”.

    Professor of psychiatry at Al-Azhar University, Mohammed Al-Mahdy, expected the number of Egyptians affected by these conditions to reach 18 million.

    Speaking to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, Al-Mahdy said that the low number of psychiatrists in Egypt and the high price of medicines are the main reasons patients are unable to get proper treatment.

    According to statistics from 2017-2018 – the latest available – the poverty rate in Egypt has risen to 32.5 per cent, while the number of people classified as poor is 20 million.”

    “Two men were discovered lying severely injured in a central Malmö park on Saturday morning, with one of them stabbed in the neck.

    A passer-by spotted the two bodies lying in shrubbery near one of the park’s outdoor nursery schools at around 11am on Saturday. Police and emergency services rushed to the spot to find both men still alive.

    “After further investigation, one of the wounded men was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of the other man,” the police said in a statement. According to the Sydsvenskan newspaper, police are treating the man wounded in the neck as the victim, although both were injured.

    Susanne Steinlechner, 57, who lives nearby, told the local Kvällposten newspaper that she had been woken by sounds of fighting in the middle of the night.

    “I always keep my door open and I was woken by angry shouting during the night. It was aggressive and I heard it several times during the night,” she said.

    Police spokesman Calle Persson said that the police were collecting forensic evidence from the bodies and clothing of the two men and from the area where they were found.

    “We will be securing evidence at the hospital and then there will also be evidence collected at the time of arrest. Both the victim and the suspect’s clothing are those they were wearing when they were found.”

    Persson said that both the suspected victim and the suspected perpetrator were currently being treated in hospital.”

    “The head of Germany’s ruling Christian Democrats insists she has not called for ex-domestic intel boss Hans-Georg Maassen’s exclusion from the party. The ex-spy chief has been accused of sympathizing with the far-right.

    The woman widely tipped to replace Angela Merkel as German chancellor has backed away from an earlier suggestion that the ruling Christian Democrat (CDU) party should expel the country’s former domestic intelligence chief.

    Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer insisted to the German Press Agency (dpa) that she had not called for Hans-Georg Maassen’s exclusion.

    “Neither in the interview nor elsewhere did I call for a party expulsion procedure,” she said, referring to an interview published earlier on Saturday with Germany’s Funke newspaper group.

    Kramp-Karrenbauer, who took over from Merkel as CDU leader in December, was reacting to criticism of her earlier comments from within the party.

    Attempting to play down the controversy, she continued: “The CDU is a party with more than 400,000 members. The fact that each one has a different opinion is what makes us interesting.”

    Earlier, Kramp-Karrenbauer, who is also defense minister, had at least hinted at possible expulsion when she told a Funke media group reporter: “For good reasons, there are major obstacles to excluding someone from a party, but I do not see any attitude in Mr. Maassen that really connects him with the CDU any more.”

    Maassen, who belongs to a faction of Germany’s conservative alliance that has restrictive views on immigration, was sent into retirement last November by Germany’s BfV domestic intelligence service.

    He was censured after downplaying video footage showing far-right protesters chasing migrants in Chemnitz in eastern Saxony and spoke of “radical left forces” within the Social Democrats (SPD), Merkel’s coalition partner in government..

    Responding to Kramp-Karrenbauer’s initial remarks, Maassen told dpa: “It is a mystery to me who advised her to conjure up such thoughts.”

    Regional elections next month in the eastern German states of Saxony and Brandenburg, along with Thuringia in October, could see a further swing to the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD).

    The anti-immigrant AfD has lawmakers in each of the country’s 16 state parliaments, as well as 91 seats in the Bundestag, Germany’s federal parliament.”

    • The timing of the protests are interesting, almost as interesting as the calls for Britain to come back and rule them. Or the calls for the US to liberate them, the problems with the latter two items is that Hong Kong needs land on the mainland to grow food and their main source of potable water is the mainland. Britain wouldn’t have turned Hong Kong over to the Communists if they could have hung onto the areas to grow food and added a water supply the Communists couldn’t turn on and off.

      These calls for Britain or the US to come aid them show what will be done if/when China collapses from the communist rule. I wonder if Hong Kong and Shanghai will seize part of the land surrounding them and declare themselves to be seperate nations? And what will India and Russia do?
