Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    Conducted by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), the survey of 2,884 people in 2018 found that there has been a “dramatic decline” in the number of people identifying as a Christian in the past 35 years. In 1983, two-thirds (66 per cent) of people said they were Christian, that number hitting half the population in 2008, and just over a third, 38 per cent, in 2018. Only one per cent of 18- to 24-year-olds identify as belonging to the Church of England. The survey also found that the only faiths which are notably growing in the UK are Christian Pentecostalism — likely due to immigration from West Africa — and Islam, which grew from one per cent in 1983, to three per cent in 2008, to six per cent in 2018.     “Six people were killed and a dozen more were wounded, local health officials previously reported a much higher number of injured people,” the spokesman said.

    According to local sources, the explosion targeted the wedding ceremony of a local militia commander’s son.

    Local media reported that the bombing attack might have been perpetrated by a minor.

    The attack took place in the province’s Pachir Aw Agam district.

    No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but IS-K, which is the local branch of the Daesh* terrorist organization, and the Taliban movement are known to be active in the province.

    “The Indian army is retaliating effectively and strongly in Mankote areas of Mendhar,” an army official added.

    The exchange of fire has been underway since the morning of 12 July on the de facto India-Pakistan border. However, there has been no report of any casualties so far from either side.

    This is the fifth major exchange of fire between the two armies since 6 July. The fresh round of ceasefire violations started after more than a month-long lull in violence at the border. Two soldiers suffered serious injuries in 6 July exchange of fire, while on 8 July a civilian was injured in the Nowshera sector of Kashmir valley.

    India accuses Pakistan of having violated the ceasefire agreement over 1,248 times in 2019 alone.

    In 2003, the two neighbouring countries signed a ceasefire agreement at the LoC, then billed as the biggest confidence building measure (CBM) between them.

    Relations between India and Pakistan have historically been tense over competing claims to parts of the Kashmir region since the former’s independence from the British Empire in 1947.”

    The unidentified man, who lives in the south-west Swedish province of Dalsland, was sentenced to six months in prison after being convicted of five separate counts of assault, Swedish radio broadcaster Sveriges Radio reports.

    The man denied culpability, claiming that intense hunger, due to fasting during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, had made it so that he could not control his own actions.

    He was accused of multiple assaults which included shoving paper into the mouth of his two-year-old daughter and beating her on the hands and feet.

    The defence of “Ramadan rage” was also used by another Muslim man in France as part of a case where he was accused of shaking his five-month-old daughter to death last year.

    The 42-year-old man was said to have been angered by the infant crying and threw her on a hotel bed twice, with the child bouncing off the bed the second time and landing head-first into the floor. The child was later taken to a hospital with a skull fracture and died.

    Earlier this year, French business owners in the city of Montpellier went as far as demanding the government provide extra security to their businesses ahead of Ramadan, arguing that they had seen an increase in violence during the holy month for the last four years.

    “Ramadan rage” has not been limited to Europe. Within the first three weeks of Ramadan this year, 20 countries saw over 100 jihadist attacks with a death toll of 531 people and another 556 maimed.

    Islamic State and the Afghanistan-based Taliban accounted for around 30 per cent of the total number of deaths during the three-week period.”

    But Star has always insisted that gunpowder and other items found in his flat above the chip shop were all connected to his long-standing interest in fireworks.

    After 15 hours of deliberations the jury was discharged on Friday morning.

    Judge Paul Watson QC told them that they were the second jury to try the pair.

    He said that another jury failed to reach verdicts on either defendant after a trial last year.

    Anne Whyte QC, prosecuting, told the court a decision on whether Star will face a third trial will be made on Friday morning.”

    The federal probe follows allegations of beatings and harassment by members of the Banditos, a group of deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Department’s East L.A. station who brand themselves with matching tattoos of a skeleton outfitted with a sombrero, bandolier and pistol. The clique’s members are accused by other deputies of using gang-like tactics to recruit young Latino deputies into their fold and retaliating against those who rebuff them.

    In interviews with several deputies, FBI agents have asked about the inner workings of the Banditos and the group’s hierarchy, according to three people with close knowledge of the matter who spoke to The Times on the condition that their names not be used because the investigation is ongoing.

    In particular, the sources said, agents have been trying to determine whether leaders of the Banditos require or encourage aspiring members to commit criminal acts, such as planting evidence or writing false incident reports, to secure membership in the group.

  23. Britain sends second warship to gulf amid tensions with Iran:

    LONDON (Reuters) – Britain is sending a second warship to the Gulf amid growing tensions with Iran after Royal Marines seized an Iranian tanker off the coast of Gibraltar last week, Sky News reported.

    Sky said the destroyer HMS Duncan, which had been earmarked for deployment in the region anyway although not so soon, would sail to the Gulf in the next few days to join the frigate HMS Montrose.

    Britain’s Ministry of Defence had no immediate comment on the report.

    President Trump announced Acosta’s departure as the two appeared on the White House lawn on Friday morning, just ahead of Trump’s campaign trips to Wisconsin and Ohio.

    “I hate to see this happen,” Trump said, adding that he did not ask Acosta to leave the Cabinet. “This was him, not me,” Trump said.

    Acosta said he didn’t want his handling of the Epstein case to distract from his work as Labor Secretary. “My point here today is we have an amazing economy and the focus needs to be on the economy job creation,” Acosta said.

    He added that his departure would be effective in seven days.

    Acosta became a prime target of Democrats after the arrest of wealthy financier Epstein on charges sex trafficking and conspiracy during the early 2000s based on new evidence. In 2008, Acosta was serving as U.S. attorney in Miami and he oversaw what turned out to be a sweetheart non-prosecution agreement for Epstein, who avoided federal charges, pleaded guilty to state charges and served just 13 months in jail.

    Epstein, 66, reached the deal to “secretly end a federal sex abuse investigation involving at least 40 teenage girls that could have landed him behind bars for life. He instead pleaded guilty to state charges, spent 13 months in jail, paid settlements to victims and is a registered sex offender,” the Associated Press reported.

    Tommy Robinson was re-sentenced to nine months in prison this week for non-violent contempt of court offences — after an earlier ten-month sentence passed within hours of his initial arrest was quashed — of which he should have to serve around two-and-a-half months before becoming eligible for automatic release on licence.

    In 2016, a former Muslim inmate of Belmarsh told the London Evening Standard that “There were so many would-be jihadists in there I felt like an intruder at a jihadi training camp.”

    Terrorists were said to be “very popular and had enormous influence… treated like celebrities by the other inmates,” and non-Muslims accused of insulting Islam at risk of having their cells broken into and being subject to serious assaults.

    The whistleblower said he “watched how prison officers seemingly took no action, leaving new inmates like myself with the impression that the real people in charge were not the warders, but a terrifying group of radical Islamists known as ‘the Brothers’ or ‘the Akhi’, which is Arabic for brother. ”

    The previous year, it was reported that Belmarsh was one of several prisons where radical Muslims were said to be forcing non-Muslims to either convert to Islam or pay a so-called “jizya” — a tax levied on non-Muslims in Islamic states under sharia law.

    Speaking to BlazeTV ahead of his sentencing, Robinson said: “I genuinely, hand on heart, I believe I’ll be killed in this prison sentence.”

    In the criminal case against alleged Russian operatives–Internet Research Agency and Concord Management and Consulting LLC–a Federal judge has declared that Robert Mueller has not offered one piece of solid evidence that these defendants were involved in any way with the Government of Russia. I think this is a potential game changer.

    The world of law as opposed to the world of intelligence is as different as Mercury and Mars. The intelligence community aka IC can traffic in rumor and speculation. IC “solid” intelligence may be nothing more than the strident assertion of a source who lacks actual first hand knowledge of an event. The legal world does not enjoy that kind of sloppiness. If a prosecutor makes a claim, i.e., Jack shot Jill, then said prosecutor must show that Jack owned a firearm that matches the bullets recovered from Jill’s body. Then the prosecutor needs to show that Jack was with Jill when the shooting took place and that forensic evidence recovered from Jack showed he had fired a firearm. Keep this distinction in mind as you consider what has transpired in the case against the Internet Research Agency and Concord Management and Consulting.

    For the last couple of days, journalists and politicians all over London have been wringing their hands in despair over the disrespectful treatment accorded to a stellar Englishman. No, not Tommy Robinson. Kim Darroch. Sorry: Sir Kim Darroch. Yes, he’s a guy – Kim as in Kim Philby or Kim Jong Un, not Kim Novak. Since 2016, not that you or I would’ve known it, he’s been the UK Ambassador to the US. Before that he was Britain’s National Security Advisor, and before that he was his country’s Permanent Representative to the EU, an organization of which he is known to be exceedingly fond. In short, a career diplomat with predictable PC politics.

    And the kind of faceless civil servant whom the public never notices until, as happened the other day, a scandal erupts around him. On July 5, the Mail on Sunday reported on leaked secret cables in which Darroch described the Trump White House as “dysfunctional,” “unpredictable,” “diplomatically clumsy and inept,” and torn by factional conflict, said that Trump himself had led a life “mired in scandal” and might well be indebted to “dodgy Russians,” and warned, after the President’s recent state visit to London, that Trump’s USA “is still the land of America First.”

    On wonders: why keep some jerk on the payroll for this kind of stuff when you can get the same thing twenty-four hours a day on CNN or MSNBC? One also wonders: what kind of fatuity, or chutzpah, does it take for an envoy representing the worst prime minister and lamest government in modern British history to describe the most successful American president of our lifetimes as dysfunctional and inept? And one further wonders: did Darroch, while serving in Washington during the last days of the Obama administration, ever once express concern about Barack’s and Hillary’s numerous scandals and “dodgy” foreign connections?

    After President Trump tweeted, “Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!”, YouGov polled the subject.

    Roughly two-thirds (67%) of Republicans support this idea, while just 29% of independents and about a quarter of Democrats feel the same. A majority of both Democrats and independents are opposed to revoking US citizenship for flag-burners.

    In general, Republicans may have stronger feelings about America’s flag. YouGov research finds that Republicans (68%) are nearly twice as likely as Democrats (36%) to say they are “patriotic” in their political views.

    Lefties and LibReps have treated this as proof that most Republicans are just mouth-breathing morons who hate the First Amendment.

    Not so fast.

    Stripping citizenship is known as denaturalization. We don’t do it much anymore even when the law is inarguably clear. As is the case with American citizens who join ISIS. It’s applied to American citizens who engage in treason, rebellion or show clear foreign allegiance.

    The biggest split in foreign policy circles isn’t over Iran or Israel. Virtually all foreign policy professionals oppose Israel and support some sort of arrangement with Iran. The real split is over Qatar.

    The tiny Islamist country is both a major state sponsor of terrorist groups, especially those aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, and has wormed its way deep into the political establishment in this country. Qatar’s dark side aligns it with Hamas, Iran and Al Qaeda on one side, and the Brookings Institute, the Washington Post, and D.C. lobbyists on the other. Its hackers target political opponents in the United States and feed the results to major media outlets. Al Jazeera, its propaganda outlet, spans the two worlds, that of the Islamists working to seize power and of Democrat activists in the United States.

    Qatar enjoyed unprecedented access and influence in the Obama era. The Arab Spring brought many of its Brotherhood allies to power across the region before Saudi countercoups helped topple them. The struggle between Qatar, Turkey and Iran, and the Saudi-UAE coalition, has rippled through the media and the D.C. political establishment with flash points such as Yemen, Iran, and Jamal Khashoggi.

    While the Senate, including much of the GOP, is Qatari territory, President Trump has been skeptical of the Islamic terror state. But the White House is up for grabs in 2020. Last month, Biden refunded a donation from a Qatari lobbyist. The Dem front runner though has been critical of Qatar (along with Turkey, the Saudis and the UAE) for funding Islamic terrorists and may not be a good bet.

    Ma la capitana è divantata una vera e propria icona della sinistra italiana ed Europea a caccia di nuovi simboli che rappresentino il “buonismo” legato ai migranti. E così, in questo quadro, è maturato un “premio” piuttosto curioso per la ragazza tedesca: la città di Parigi le ha infatti conferito la cittadinanza onoraria. Una scelta che di certo farà discutere. A proprorre l’onorficenza è stato il gruppo “Generation.s”.

    Il consiglio comunale ha approvato in tempi rapidi l’istanza e così Carola Rackete è diventata “cittadina onoraria di Parigi”. Da sottolineare anche le motivazioni dietro il conferimento di questa onoreficenza: “È una scelta per evidenziare l’azione importante delle organizzazioni umanitarie per aiutare i migranti”. Insieme alla Rackete è stata premiata anche Pia Kemp, un’altra attivista delle ong che salvano i migranti nel Mediterraneo. A questo va nache aggiunto il contributo d’urgenza varato dal Comune di Parigi da 100mila euro per la Sos Mediterranèe per una nuova missione di salvataggi.

    Buona parte della politica francese sin dallo sbarco a Lampedusa si è schierata dalla parte della Rackete. Diversi parlamentari hanno infatti sottoscritto un documento in cui hanno chiesto la liberazione della capitana della Sea Watch e della stessa Pia Kemp: “L’arresto di queste due donne e i procedimenti giudiziari a loro carico hanno sollevato indignazione oltre confine. Nè loro, nè i loro equipaggi, nè le ong proprietarie delle barche possono essere soggetti a sanzioni per le azioni umanitarie”.

    A chiudere il cerchio è arrivata la cittadinanza onoraria. Gesti che arrivano da un Paese, come la Francia, che serra i porti, rifiuta lo sbarco di Sea Watch e soprattutto senza fare troppi complimenti chiude i confini con i rispengimenti a Ventimiglia. E su quanto accaduto a Parigi è arrivato il commento del ministro degli Interni, Matteo Salvini: “Il comune di Parigi premia Carola Rackete perseguita in Italia con una medaglia. Questa è quella che guidava una barca che ha infranto le leggi e schiacciato contro la banchina del molo di Lampedusa una motovedetta della GdF. Il comune di Parigi evidentemente non ha altro di meglio da fare che premiare questi soggetti”. Poi ha aggiunto: “Un bacione a Carola che ha portato una ventata di simpatia in un paese strano che indaga i ministri e liberate signorine che attaccano motovedette della Gdf”. Parole dure quelle di Salvini che sottolienano quanto sia ancora acceso il braccio di ferro con la Rackete. Intanto oggi è stata depositata alla Procura di Roma la denuncia della Rackete per diffamazione e istigazione a delinquere contro il vicepremier
