Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    A Skaf gang rapist who was jailed for his role in the sexual assaults of at least six girls in Sydney continues to blame his victims nearly two decades after he was convicted.
    Mohammed Skaf, 36, is serving 22 years behind bars with an 18-year non-parole period after his sentence was cut from 31 years after an appeal.
    Skaf was among 14 other Lebanese-Australian men, including his brother, who conducted brutal gang-rapes on schoolgirls as young as 14 in 2000.
    He is currently fighting for parole after he was denied release at the end of his non-parole period last year.
    During a hearing last week, the Serious Offenders Review Council labelled Skaf a ‘menace to society’ adding that he has not shown remorse for his actions.
    ‘It appears that he still blames the victims for his offending, has no victim empathy and refuses to take responsibility for his actions,’ The Sun-Herald reported.
    Skaf was also assessed as a ‘medium to high risk’ of offending again in the next five years.
    His lawyer Omar Juweinat argued his client has served his time and revealed he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease, also known as lymphoma, and spent a year handcuffed to a hospital bed.
    ‘There must be a point in a prisoner’s life where enough time is enough time. Mr Skaf is well beyond his non-parole period, has undertaken every conceivable course and was diagnosed with a very serious illness,’ Mr Juweinat said.
    ‘At some point, the government and the public must anticipate that this man will be released into the community,’ he added.
    In the 20 years he has spent behind bars, Skaf has been involved in prison scuffles with other inmates, threatened detention officers, and has been caught using banned items such as a mobile phone, tobacco, USBs and porn, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
    He was transferred to another detention centre in 2009 after he the phone was found in the same cell he lived in with his brother Bilal.
    In 2013, he reportedly pour boiling water on another inmate’s head.
    A decision is expected to be made on his release in August.
    Skaf and his brother are the only two of the men convicted who are still serving time behind bars.
    Older brother Bilal Skaf led a gang of more than a dozen young Lebanese Australians who pack raped four young women in late 2000.
    One of the victims, an 18-year-old woman, was raped 40 times by 14 gang members over four hours in an attack coordinated by mobile phone.
    She was then dumped at a train station after being hosed down.
    The rapists originally received sentences totaling more than 240 years with Bilal Skaf being jailed for 55 years, later reduced to a minimum 28.
    Judge Michael Finnane compared the Skaf gang’s depravity to outrages committed by invading armies in times of war and said their crimes were ‘worse than murder’.

  7. A journalist who covers AntiFa in the Pacific Northwest has become the victim of an alleged violent assault by leftist militants.

    Scenes of the attack on reporter Andy Ngo were captured on video livestreams broadcasting demonstrations in downtown Portland, Oregon on Saturday.

    The group turned into a mob, which turned on the journalist. Having learned his identity, AntiFa attacked Andy Ngo.

    Members of Rose City Antifa, numbering in the hundreds, organized as a counterprotest to a few dozen right-wing protesters from the Proud Boys and other rightist organizations, who announced their decision to demonstrate in three sites across the city. Police responded to the demonstrations by cordoning off various intersections and preventing the groups from clashing.

    Caught in the crossfire was Ngo, an editor for Quillette and a contributor to the Wall Street Journal. He covered the unfolding protest by following a group of anarchist activists, some of whom he identified as “militant AntiFa” in his Periscope livestream.

    The group quickly turned into a mob which targets the journalist.

    Oregon reporters Dave Killen and Jim Ryan captured much of the attack, which shows Ngo being violently battered by a group of black-clad men and women who robbed him of his camera equipment before proceeding to punch, kick, and throw various objects—including milkshakes, raw eggs, and other makeshift weapons aimed at his head.

  10. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is not going to win the Oct. 21 election if he’s running scared of Liberal fear-mongering about Islamophobia by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

    An indication that’s happening is the party’s recent veto, without explanation, of Salim Mansur from seeking the Conservative nomination in London North Centre.

    I’ve known Mansur for 15 years and was his editor when he was a longtime columnist for the Toronto Sun.

    He’s a scholar and a gentleman, now retired, after a distinguished career of more than three decades as an associate professor of political science at the University of Western Ontario.

    He has been a supporter of Canada’s conservative movement through its darkest hours — including the 1993 election when the Progressive Conservative party was reduced to two seats.

    Canadian citizens are invited to eat for free at an Ontario-based Chinese-Canadian restaurant chain this Canada Day, but legal experts say the offer may come with a side of discrimination.

    Brampton, Ont.-based Mandarin Restaurant is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a free meal for patrons who can prove their Canadian citizenship.

    “It seems a case of putting dim sum before dignity,” said Ted Flett, an employment and human rights lawyer with Toronto-based Zubas + Associates.

    “And, I think the Mandarin is opening themselves up to quite a bit of liability with this sort of a move.”

    Diners with a Canadian passport, birth certificate or citizenship card will receive their buffet meal free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis on July 1 between 12 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., the Mandarin Restaurant Franchise Corp. announced earlier this week. The company operates 29 restaurants in Ontario.

    Mixed feelings on social media
    Critics of the policy are now calling out the Mandarin on Twitter and saying that forcing diners to prove Canadian citizenship to get free stuff is un-Canadian.

    “Just citizens? What about the rest who pay taxes, work minimum wage and have sacrificed everything to live in this wonderful country? Shouldn’t they also enjoy?” said one post.

    Another Twitter user, @OskarBernard, wrote that the promotion doesn’t “honour Canada Day” and he’d “rather pay to eat at someplace that doesn’t discriminate.”

  13. Italians are reeling from the revelation that a crime ring, which includes a mayor, doctors and social workers, had been brainwashing children to say their parents abused them, so as to easily sell them on to foster families.
    So far eighteen people, including the mayor of the town of Bibbiano, near Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, have been arrested.

    They were suspected of working together to brainwash the kids, who were taken from disadvantaged families under false pretexts, into believing they’d been abused at home. This was later used as a justification to seize the children and, basically, to sell them to foster parents at a high price.

    The psychologists at the Hansel and Gretel Association in the town of Moncalieri, near Turin, have used a variety of bizarre techniques to achieve their sinister goal.

    They relied on persuasion to make their victims believe that their parents hurt and sexually abused them; showed fake, childlike drawings with added sexual details and even enacted plays, dressing up in scary masks to represent their moms and dads as being vile and dangerous.

    The police said the children were also subjected to small electric shocks, referred to as “the little memory machine” by the shrinks.

  15. Donald Trump shook hands with Kim Jong Un on Sunday and took 20 steps into North Korea, making history as the first sitting US leader to set foot in the hermit kingdom.

    Trump crossed the low stone curb separating the North and South at 3:45 p.m. local time, making his way alongside a grinning Kim into a country that’s long been a global pariah for its nuclear ambitions and dismal record on human rights.

    The event, seemingly spontaneous and broadcast live, took to a new level Trump’s showman instincts and view of diplomacy as a test of interpersonal skills. Afterward, Trump said he agreed with Kim to revive staff-level talks that had collapsed after their last summit in February.

    The encounter at the heavily fortified Korean Demilitarized Zone — their third in person — came a day after Trump raised the prospect of a border handshake in a tweet and declared he’d have “no problem” stepping into North Korea.

    “Would you like me to step across?” Trump asked Kim as they shook hands. “I am OK with it.”

    While inside North Korean territory, Trump and Kim shook hands and patted each other’s backs before returning across the border to the South after about a minute.

    “I never expected to meet you at this place,” Kim, who appeared overjoyed in the moment, told Trump through an interpreter.

    Later, Trump said he was “proud to step over the line” and thanked Kim for the meeting. He invited him to the White House, though later acknowledged such a visit would likely not come soon.

    The North Korean leader said he was surprised by Trump’s request to meet, and accepted the offer due to their “excellent relationship” and the significance of meeting at the border.

    “I think meeting here, two countries that have a hostile past, we are showcasing to the world that we have a new present and we have a positive meeting going forward,” he said.

    After the historic handshake, the two men met inside the Freedom House at the DMZ for just under an hour — a more substantial session than Trump previewed earlier when he said his encounter with Kim would amount to little more than a handshake.

      The Guardian confirms Tucker’s presence at the DMZ summit while Bolton was simultaneously consigned to the Gobi Desert:

      The DMZ meeting was all about shaping a narrative. That is why John Bolton, the ultra-hawkish national security adviser, was nowhere to be seen; he had been sent, or sent himself, to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. But the official US party included Tucker Carlson, a Fox News talkshow host, who is Trump’s principal channel to the non-interventionist section of his far-right base. Eleventh-hour conversations with Carlson reportedly persuaded Trump not to launch missiles against Iran this month, after the downing of a US drone.

      The report suggests further that US-North Korea dialogue is at too sensitive a stage to have the blustering loudmouth neocon anywhere near it.

      The fact that the meeting on Sunday with Kim was more than perfunctory suggests that Trump, for all his bluster, is aware that a mere photo op could not guarantee his image as master deal maker all the way up to the November 2020 presidential election. There had to be some substance, and that would require repairing the damage done in Hanoi.

      Last week Trump said during a Meet the Press interview while discussing Iran: “John Bolton is absolutely a hawk. If it was up to him he’d take on the whole world at one time, okay?”

      Meanwhile, Carlson’s presence as guest of the White House for the Kim summit is already subject of controversy, given that during a Fox & Friends interview he gave from South Korea he said that part of “what it means to lead a country” is “killing people.”

      Carlson was responding to criticisms questioning how Trump could possibly meet with a vile dictator, for which the president has increasingly come under fire from both sides of the aisle. Trump is aiming to breath new life into nuclear negotiations which have been dormant since February, which requires direct talks with Kim.

      In the controversial statements Carlson called Pyongyang a “monstrous” and “disgusting” regime, but also explained:

      “It’s not a choice between the evil people and the great people, it’s a choice most of the time between the bad people and the worse people.”

      Monday night is also set to be interesting, given that Fox News will reportedly air a special interview with President Trump by Carlson which is to be recorded sometime Sunday.

    “Volunteers of a French civil defence group were attacked twice last weekend, with one of the attacks seeing the volunteers sprayed with acid.

    The volunteers, who were working for the Fédération Nationale de Protection Civile (FNPC), were attacked with an acid substance in the commune of Ygos-Saint-Saturnin in south-western France, a report from France Bleu has claimed.

    The motive for the attack is currently unknown, as is the identity of the person or persons who threw the substance at the volunteers, and they have not been arrested by police so far.

    None of the volunteers was struck by the substance but one member of the group was injured as a result of inhaling the acid fumes.

    While the substance was not taken to a lab, members of the group and the local gendarmes determined that it was likely a form of hydrochloric acid based on the odour.

    Gilles Sarran, the president of the FNPC in the department of Landes, commented on the attack saying, “when we volunteer for civil protection it’s because we want to give our time and ourselves to help others, and to be attacked is not at all what we are searching for.”

    Sarran called on the prefecture of Landes to act following the incident, saying that if there is another attack he will withdraw volunteers helping during local festivals.

    “I have to protect my teams, and to protect my rescuers, there is no question that I will accept that they are attacked,” he said.

    Acid attacks on emergency services personnel, volunteer or professional, are not unknown, and another incident occurred last year in Essone when police officers were attacked by several masked youths after preventing a robbery at a local grocer.

    General violence toward emergency services personnel has also become a major issue across France. In May of last year, firefighters in the Alpes-Maritimes department went as far as creating videos requesting members of the public stop attacking them.

    In Toulon, members of the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR) have been equipped with bulletproof vests to protect their staff from attacks.”

    According to Europol’s annual report, 45 per cent of Britain’s Islamist foreign fighters have returned, the largest proportion of returned jihadists out of the whole of the EU. Germany came second with 33 per cent of its citizens who travelled to the Middle East having returned, followed by Spain and the Netherlands, both on 18 per cent.

    “Those that have returned garner kudos with like-minded individuals,” the report authors write.

    “Their training and experience — such as handling weapons and explosives — makes them exceptionally dangerous. Furthermore, EU Member States’ ongoing concern is that these individuals can perpetuate and strengthen their networks both nationally and internationally.”

    The Telegraph reports that of the 400 jihadists who returned to the United Kingdom, just 40 have been prosecuted for terrorist activities…”

    “The Swedish government has passed new measures to increase pay for teachers working in “vulnerable areas” to attract them to areas often referred to as “no-go zones”.

    Teachers working in these “vulnerable areas” will receive a monthly increase of 10,000 Swedish krona (£848/$1,077) per month, doubling the previous amount of 5,000 SEK, Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Radio reports.

    Roger Haddad, school spokesman for the Swedish Liberals, argued that the measures were important, saying, “we must once again increase the proportion of qualified teachers and we must attract the best teachers to these areas.”

    A total of 111 teachers are said to benefit from the fund, which had previously been allocated around 16 million SEK per year. The new move will see the total amount allocated rise to 42 million SEK per year.

    Some in the teaching profession, however, are not certain the new measures will attract qualified teachers to the no-go zones.

    Mats Jonsson, the principal at Grindtorpsskolan school in Alby, said he was not sure the extra money would do anything more to motivate the teachers who already get 5,000 SEK, saying the teachers already do a good job — but hoped that the reforms could be a positive for recruiting future teachers.

    Schools in no-go zones often see poorer scholastic performances among pupils than those in areas with less crime and unemployment.

    A report last year showed that in the notorious Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby, one school saw nearly half of the pupils unqualified to even enter high school, with local parents admitting they were looking to send their children to school in other areas.

    Another major problem in Swedish schools has been a rise in violence both among pupils and directed at teaching staff. A survey released last year revealed that 70 per cent of Swedish municipalities have either installed security cameras or even hired security guards to deal with the violence.

    Independent Swedish journalist Joakim Lamotte has claimed that many teachers across the country have simply “surrendered” to the violence.

    “Threats, beatings, and stabbings now occur every day in Swedish schools and it increases dramatically. At the same time, teachers are getting less power while authorities and politicians are completely paralysed,” he said.”

    “Taliban insurgents killed eight election officials in a bomb attack in the southern Kandahar province, Afghan officials said on Sunday.

    Aziz Ibrahimi, a spokesman for the Independent Election Commission, said that the employees were in the district of Maruf conducting voter registration, when Saturday night’s attack occurred.

    A defense ministry spokesman, Fawad Aman, said Taliban detonated four stolen Humvees full of explosives outside the district’s police headquarters, where the election officials were staying.

    Aman said at least four Afghan security officers were also killed.

    The Interior Ministry said in a statement that security forces killed 25 Taliban fighters when repelling the assault.

    The Taliban, through a spokesman Qari Yusouf Ahmadi, claimed responsibility for the attack in Maruf.

    Separately, Taliban attacked the police security cordon protecting the capital city of the western Farah province, killing four security officers, said Shah Mahmmod Nahimi, a provincial council member.

    He added that four other security officers were wounded in Saturday night’s attack in Farah city.

    In the same province on Saturday, Taliban attacked army checkpoints in the Bala Buluk district, killing five and wounding seven others, said a local councilman, Abdul Samad Salehi.

    Taliban have stepped up their attacks against Afghan security forces as the seventh round of peace talks between the U.S. and the insurgents is underway in the Middle Eastern state of Qatar.”

    The death cult’s Caliphate in Syria and Iraq collapsed this year but it is feared hardcore followers escaped as part of a tactical retreat.

    The Washington-based Institute for the Study of War is warning in a report that the brutal terror group is set to come back — bigger and more dangerous than before.

    In Iraq, ISIS is already seizing control the study reveals.

    The report warns: “ISIS has systematically eliminated village leaders and civilians who cooperated with anti-IS forces.

    “It has reimposed taxes on local populations in its historical support zones, displacing civilians and de facto controlling small pockets of terrain in Iraq.”

      Military officials from forces loyal to Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA) put on display weapons that they say were captured from General Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA) in Tripoli on Saturday.

      Footage shows US-made Javelin anti-tank missiles as well as Chinese GP6 laser homing artillery projectiles. “These weapons are American, those are Chinese and unfortunately the contracts written on them indicate that they are from the United Arab Emirates,” said Ibrahim Altawel from the forces loyal to GNA.

      He said the weapons were captured in Gharyan, a strategic town some 100 kilometres south of the capital Tripoli, on Wednesday. It had served as a major supply line for General Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA).

      “We found some advanced weapons that are banned for exports to Libya under a UN Security Council decision, the decision that prohibits the supply of weapons. We found names of specific countries on them. We found them being used in the Libyan conflict to spill Libyan blood, instead of defending their own borders,” said Altawel.

      If it’s proven the UAE supplied Haftar’s forces with weapons that would be a violation of deals with the US which ban re-selling arms to third countries.

    There were several Sufi Dervish orders in the territory of modern day Serbia during the Ottoman rule. With the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the Dervish orders continued to exist only in Kosovo.

    Legislators, not state cops, should enforce the rules.

    The separation of powers may be the one thing most Americans retain from their civics education. The legislative, executive, and judicial branches each have their own separate functions. They come together to make up the government, but work at cross-purposes just enough to prevent one person or one branch from gathering too much unchecked power.

    This principle animates the federal and state constitutions alike. But it’s been abandoned in the Oregon legislature’s current standoff.

    A minority of the Oregon senate has fled the state in order to deny a quorum to the Democratic majority. Their goal is to prevent the passage of a carbon cap-and-trade tax bill that would disproportionately burden their rural constituents.

    Historically, when legislators walked out, the house’s majority took responsibility for getting them to return, by force if necessary. In Oregon, this job has been outsourced to the executive branch. Practically, it is a minor difference, but it lays out a dangerous precedent for liberty and legislative independence in a republic.

    “One arrest has been made and police remain on the scene.”

    Six people were stabbed in 24 hours this weekend, with four people killed in a horrific day of violence in London.

    A heavily pregnant woman was also among multiple people to have been stabbed to death during a horrific weekend of attacks for the capital.

    The 26-year-old victim, who was eight months pregnant, was found in Croydon with stab injuries at the scene at around 3.30am on Saturday.

    The baby was delivered by the London Ambulance and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

    The Met police have since named the victim as Kelly Mary Fauvrelle.

    The force has made a second arrest in connection with the incident.

    A Scotland Yard statement said: “Detectives investigating the murder of a pregnant woman in Croydon have made a second arrest and have named the victim as Kelly Mary Fauvrelle.

      This morning the force was alerted to a sixth incident, the Met confirmed the 18-year-old man died from his injuries after being stabbed in Southwark.

      The Met was called at 4.51am on Sunday, to reports of a fight at Sutherland Walk, SE17.

      The Met said in a statement: “The victim, was treated for serious injuries but was sadly pronounced dead at 7.23am.

      “Three males,aged 22-years-old, 18-year-old and 22-years-old, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

      “They were taken to separate custody facilities where they remain at this time.

      “Officers from Southwark remain on scene.”

  48. Beatles Star John Lennon’s Son Slams Liberals as ‘Pathetic,’ ‘Science Denying’

    Sean Lennon, the son of Beatles star John Lennon, recently jumped to his Twitter account to slam liberal intellectuals as having lost their minds, calling them “pathetic,” and deniers of science. He also attacked political correctness.

    Lennon (who is going by “Sean Ono Lennon” these days) began the conversation noting that when he was young (he was born to John and Yoko in 1975) everyone around him was a left-winger.

    “When I was young the most interesting people were left wing intellectuals. Believe it or not,” he wrote.

    One person responded to his tweet saying, “we are still the most interesting.” But Lennon disagreed and went into attack mode on leftist “intellectuals” of which he considers himself one.

    “No, we’ve become the church lady as person below says. It’s embarrassing. We’re offended by comedy and science. It’s pathetic,” Lennon replied.

    • The political spectrum has remained the same but the left has shifted further to the left, while the right has more or less remained the same. The effort to shift the entire political spectrum to the left started before WWII and accelerated during that war. Before Hitler attacked the Soviet Union the left proudly claimed him as one of their own, after the attack he became the far right. He was and Fascism is slightly to the right of Lenin and Marx, but not very far to the right.

      The fallacy of fascism being far right is easy to expose, if International Socialism is the far left and national socialis the far right where does the non socialist fit n the spectrum?

      Once the left convinced people to ignore the facts drawn above they decided they could shift the entire political spectrum to the left. But to do this they had to destroy traditional morality, traditional liberalism and towards the end of their quest for power the belief in science. Lennon like Tim Poole are starting to live in the real world but have been indoctronated all their lives with the idea that conservatives are evil and thus can’t bring themselves to admit that they are no longer leftists. Both are headed towards the knowledge that they are capable of learning and can no longer deny the facts.

    Taking direct aim at President Donald Trump. social media giant Twitter announced it will put warning labels on tweets that violate its rules, but are posted by users it finds difficult to ban.

    Tweets with “controversial content or behavior which may otherwise violate our rules” but would be troublesome to ban because they are in the “legitimate public interest” would be covered up by a warning label, which users would have to click through in order to read.

    “The label will only be used for verified accounts belonging to government officials, or those running for office, with more than 100,000 followers,” Bloomberg reports.

    “By nature of their positions these leaders have outsized influence and sometimes say things that could be considered controversial or invite debate and discussion,” Twitter explains, insisting they’re not referring to Trump. “A critical function of our service is providing a place where people can openly and publicly respond to their leaders and hold them accountable.”

    The announcement is aimed squarely at President Donald Trump, after a campaign by leftists to ban him entirely from Twitter. That campaign is complicated by the fact Trump has never clearly violated any of Twitter’s Terms of Service.

    “Twitter’s rules prohibit threatening violence against a person or group, engaging in “targeted harassment of someone,” or inciting others to do so, such as wishing a person is harmed. It prohibits hate speech against a group based on race, ethnicity, gender or other categories, and disallows the promoting of terrorism,” the Associated Press reports.

    None of Trump’s tweets have clearly and explicitly done that. Twitter did not provide any examples of Trump tweets what would trigger the warning label.

    While activists have been successful in banning accounts from conservative journalists and activists, banning a federal candidate, especially Trump, could draw a legal challenge arguing the move is intended to benefit an opposing candidate, and is therefore an illegal corporate contribution.

    Twitter instead chose to slap a “scarlet letter” on tweets, which censors Trump without banning him entirely.

    The move mirrors one by Facebook, which automatically adds warnings to posts labeled “not true” or “offensive” by often left-leaning censors.

    President Donald Trump dropped a massive threat on China on Monday morning, tweeting that the Asian giant might soon have to protect its own interests in the dangerous waters of the Strait of Hormuz.

    Trump’s tweets are consistent with his previous statements questioning the United States’ role as the world’s police force.

    “So why are we protecting the shipping lanes for other countries (many years) for zero compensation. All of these countries should be protecting their own ships on what has always been a dangerous journey,” Trump tweeted.

    Richard: This is a very interesting move by Trump. We all know that Iran is unlikely to attack a Chinese ship or a ship bound for China mistakes happen and in that region alliances can change if not daily at least weekly.

    This move puts pressure on Iran, China and Russia. If China does nothing and no attacks on Chinese ships occur the European nations will think twice about allowing China to gain any further foot holds in Europe.

    It puts pressure on Russia because they need hard currencies and if the Chinese are cut off from Iranian oil they will probably buy from Russia and pay a much higher price. (I understand that China is getting a lower price because Iran needs hard currencies). This stands a chance (not a good one but a chance) of driving a wedge between Russia and China. This wouldn’t mean much now but it could help us in the long run.

    It will also lower the cost or our deployment in that region by cutting back on the fuel oil we will use. I doubt if many of our European allies will decide to come up with some money to pay for our protection but you never know. After all our military protection of Europe has been allowing them to decrease tehir military and increase their welfare payments since the 1950s.
