Swedish Liberals Leave Party in Droves as ‘Right-Wing’ Black Woman Poised to Take Over (sputniknews, Jun 26, 2019)

“Apart from sparking divisions and a mass flight within the Liberal Party, the nomination of Nyamko Sabuni as party chair may have long-reaching consequences for Swedish politics.
With Nyamko Sabuni, a Burundi-born black woman, left as the only contestant to chair the Swedish Liberal party, senior party members have announced their exodus to protest her policies as being not liberal enough.
As fellow Liberal Erik Ullenhag threw in the towel, Sabuni, a former gender equality minister, is expected to be crowned as the Liberals’ new party leader on Friday.
However, several heavy names on the party roster have found this prospect unbearable and announced they are leaving the party.
Former MP and vice president of the parliament Kerstin Heinemann explained that she, as a “social liberal” cannot the support the imminent “right-wing slant” awaiting the party.
“Now that I have thought it over, I’m leaving the Liberals after 52 years as a member. The new direction of the party, I cannot support it. I have always been social liberal and will remain it, but with the new direction, there is no place for me. It is with great grief in my heart that I make this decision, but I follow my beliefs”, Heinemann wrote on Facebook.
Another former MP, Linnéa Darell, announced on Facebook her decision to leave the party board.
“It is with great sadness that I note that the social-liberal fundamental values that have been so important to me in my political career for many years are now at risk of being eroded in favour of a ‘crackdown’ in refugee policy, criminal care, and perhaps even in social policy areas,” Darell wrote.
Ana Maria Hellström Narti, who together with 86 Liberals recently signed a joint opinion piece in Aftonbladet pledging to defy the majority opinion and vote for Ullenhag anyway, has also announced that she’s stepping down, “not with sorrow but with much anger”. According to her, Sabuni’s chairmanship will put “a definitive end to liberalism” within the party.
On Twitter, some went so far as to label Sabuni “black right”.
Burundi-born Nyamko Sabuni came to Sweden at the age of twelve in 1981. In 2002, she became an MP and served as minister of integration and gender equality in the centre-right government, the first person of African descent to hold a ministerial post in Sweden.
In 2006, Sabuni proposed a hijab ban for girls under 15 and mandatory gynaecological examinations for schoolgirls to stop the spread of female genital mutilation. She is the author of the book “The Girls We Let Down” about women living under the threat of honour violence. Sabuni has also suggested that devout Muslims “limit their own opportunities” and marginalise themselves.
Sabuni has also said that she wants to be a role model for immigrants in Sweden and someone who immigrants can identify with. Recently, however, she sparked controversy by calling on Sweden to “bury its vision of a multicultural society” in order to succeed in integration. Later, she partially withdrew her statement.
Under the previous leader, Jan Björklund, who had led the party for 12 years, the Liberals, a fiercly pro-EU party, have suffered several unsuccessful elections, and in recent measurements have fallen beneath the parliamentary barrier of four percent. However, the party plays an important role in Swedish politics.
The Liberals’ support for the Social Democrats allowed them to break a hung parliament situation and form a minority “red-green” left-of-the-centre coalition government after agonising talks that lasted for several months. By contrast, Sabuni previously voiced readiness to accept help from the right-wing Sweden Democrats, who are usually shunned as pariahs by the Swedish political establishment.”

“Following the defeat of the centre-right “blue bloc” in the recent general election, Denmark’s left-of-centre “red” parties have agreed to form a new government, rolling out a plan instantly slammed as “red-green wish list” by critics.
After almost three weeks of deliberations, the Socialist People’s Party, the Social Liberal Party and the Red-Green Coalition have agreed to become sidekicks in a minority Social Democratic government.
Social Democrats leader Mette Frederiksen will become Denmark’s youngest prime minister, succeeding the leader of the liberal-conservative Venstre Party Lars Løkke Rasmussen at the helm of Denmark’s government.
“We didn’t know if we could make it when we started. These are four parties with very different histories and opinions. But now we have reached our goal,” the newly-minted prime minister told Danish Radio. “As a result, we have shown that when the Danes go and vote as they did, a new majority can translate their hope into specific action.”
While the Danish parties are traditionally lumped into “red” and “blue” blocs based on their stance and ability to form alliances, the differences within either bloc may be vast. Nevertheless, the left-of-the-centre parties managed to bridge their divide and produce a formal agreement that deals with a number of issues ranging from climate change to immigration.
Among others, the accord involves binding climate legislation that aims to reduce emissions by a staggering 70 percent. Other key aspects of the agreement include opening the doors for more foreign workers.
Moreover, the new ruling quartet also agreed to scrap plans for turning the island of Lindholm off Copenhagen’s coast into a prison for criminal foreigners, sometimes referred to as “Alcatraz for migrants”, remove child asylum seekers from Sjælsmark centre and once again accept refugee quotas.
Tweet by the Danish People’s Party: “Deported, criminal foreigners have NOTHING to do in Denmark. Until we can get rid of them, we now move them out on the island of Lindholm in Stege Bugt.
So far, no concrete solution has been offered to what should take Lindholm’s place, nor is there any fixed figure for how many quota refugees Denmark should take. Nevertheless, Mette Frederiksen herself outlined her coalition’s plans for Denmark’s immigration policy.
“We now introduce common sense as something new in Danish immigration policy”, Mette Frederiksen told Danish Radio.
Outgoing Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen wished the new government luck with the accord, which he called “a far-fetched red-green wish list”.
“Only they forgot to talk about how the bills should be paid, didn’t they?”, Rasmussen tweeted.
The Conservatives political rapporteur Mette Abildgaard suggested that the Social Democrats and their supporting parties should add more details to the agreement.
“Tell me, what have you actually done in the 20 days?”, she asked on Twitter. “How many quota refugees? Pass! Minimum standards on what? Pass! What instead of the Sjælsmark asylum centre and Lindholm? Pass! How will the bill be financed? Pass!”
The new accord may be seen as a policy shift as the Social Democrats under Mette Frederiksen have previously called for a cap on “non-western immigrants”, for asylum seekers to be expelled to a reception centre in North Africa, and for all immigrants to be forced to work 37 hours a week in exchange for benefits.
“For me, it is becoming increasingly clear that the price of unregulated globalisation, mass immigration and the free movement of labour is paid for by the lower classes,” Frederiksen declared a recent biography.
Obviously, winning the support of fellow “red bloc” members implies compromise and sacrifice, as despite emerging as the clear election winner with 25.9 percent of the vote, the Social Democrats only command 48 seats out of 179.”

Scientists successfully transfer first test tube rhino embryo in hopes of saving the species
Berlin — Scientists in Europe said Tuesday they’ve successfully transferred a test tube rhino embryo back into a female whose eggs were fertilized in vitro, as part of an effort to save another nearly extinct subspecies of the giant horned mammal. The procedure was performed last month on a southern white rhino at Chorzow zoo in Poland, said Thomas Hildebrandt of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin.
Hildebrandt is part of BioRescue, an international team of scientists and conservationists trying to use IVF to save the rare northern white rhino.
Only two northern white rhinos — both females — are left. The last male northern white rhino, named Sudan, died in March 2018. Scientists had preserved frozen sperm samples from several males that they now hope to use to revive the species.

Amazon is headquartered in Seattle and Microsoft is just outside the city, and both billionaires have homes in the nearby small town of Medina, Washington.
With a population of just over 3,000, Medina is the seventh richest zip code in the U.S. with a median home value of $2.77 million, and the town has a median household income of $186,464 in 2017, the most recent data available. (By comparison, the 2017 median household income in the U.S. was $60,336.)
Yet Medina is running out of money — and the irony is lost on no one.
So how is the home of the richest people on the planet coming up short?

Hong Kong activists urge G20 leaders to help ‘liberate’ city
HONG KONG (Reuters) – Thousands of people in Hong Kong joined an evening protest and marched to major foreign consulates on Wednesday, urging leaders gathering for this week’s summit of G20 nations to back their demand to scrap a controversial extradition bill.
Holding placards with messages such as “Please liberate Hong Kong”, the demonstrators, some wearing masks, marched to consulates of nations represented at the Japan summit of the Group of 20 major economies.

France probes possibility of negligence in Notre Dame fire
PARIS (Reuters) – French authorities have no grounds to believe that the fire which wrecked Paris’ Notre-Dame Cathedral in April was the result of criminal action, although they were probing the possibility of negligence, said the Paris prosecutor’s office.
“If certain failings, which may explain the scale of the fire, have been brought to light, the investigations carried out to this date have not yet been able to determine the causes of the fire,” said a statement from Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz.
However, Heitz added that an investigation had been opened into the possibility of negligence having caused the blaze.

Defying an order from Rome authorities to stay out, migrant rescue ship Sea-watch has decided to enter Italian waters, the vessels’ crew said on Twitter on Wednesday (26 June).
The German charity boat had been stranded at sea for two weeks with 42 rescued migrants on board.
“I have decided to enter the port of Lampedusa. I know what I’m risking, but the 42 rescued are exhausted. I’m bringing them to safety now,” the ship’s captain said.
“The EU has let them down for 14 days. Our captain has no choice,” the NGO added.
“No European institution is willing to take responsibility and to uphold human dignity at Europe’s border in the Mediterranean. This is why we have to take the responsibility ourselves. We enter Italian waters as there are no other options left to ensure the safety of our guests whose basic rights have been violated for long enough,” said Johannes Bayer, chairman of Sea-Watch in a written statement seen by Euronews.
“The guarantee of human rights must not be conditional to a passport or to any EU negotiations, they have to be indivisible,” Bayer continued.
Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini promptly took to Facebook to react to the announcement.
“We will use every legal means to end this shameful situation. The laws of a state must be respected,” Salvini said.
“A Dutch ship from a German NGO that ignores Italian laws? – it’s a joke,” he continued.
“The Dutch and German governments will answer for it. I’m fed up with it,” the far-right politician told his Facebook followers in a live video.
Salvini continued his rant on Twitter: “Europe? Absent as always,” he said.
According to a decree approved in June, the Italian Interior Ministry has the power to deny access to territorial waters to vessels that it considers are a risk to security or public order and fine them.
The boat’s captain also faces criminal charges.
European Court of Human Rights rules against Sea Watch 3
The Sea Watch 3’s move follows a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights against the migrant rescue ship after it appealed for an emergency decree to allow migrants stranded on the vessel to disembark in Italy.
Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini welcomed the decision, tweeting that Strasbourg had confirmed his country’s ‘choice of order, common sense, legality and justice’.
But the European Court of Human Rights did indicate that Italian authorities must continue to provide all necessary assistance to vulnerable people on board the ship.
“With yesterday’s political ruling (…) the European Court of human rights failed to provide any expedient for the 42 survivors stuck aboard the rescue ship Sea-Watch 3. Their situation is now more desperate than ever,” Sea Watch said in a statement.
The Dutch rescue ship, Sea-Watch 3, is owned by a German charity and has been waiting for somewhere to dock since rescuing 53 people in international waters in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.
Following an onboard health inspection on 15 June, ten migrants were permitted to disembark in Italy, including three families with underage children and pregnant women. Another individual was allowed to leave on the night of 21 to 22 June on health grounds.
“No exceptionally serious and urgent reasons”
This week, the charity appealed to the European Court of Human Rights to allow the Sea-Watch 3 ship to disembark in Italy as an ‘interim measure’ to “prevent serious and irremediable violations of human rights”.
But the court found that these interim measures should “apply only where there is an imminent risk of irreparable harm”.
A regional administrative court had previously denied a Sea-Watch 3 request to enter Italian territorial waters.
“Sea-Watch 3 had not indicated that other individuals from vulnerable categories were on the ship. In consequence, [the judge] considered that there were no exceptionally serious and urgent reasons justifying the application of the urgent measures.”
In a statement to Euronews, Sea Watch confirmed that “there are still 42 rescued people on board, including three unaccompanied minors, the youngest [is] 12 years old.” Those on board are believed to be from a number of African countries, including Niger, Guinea, Cameroon, Mali, Ghana and the Ivory Coast.
Euronews has reached out to Sea Watch for further comment on the latest decision.
Tuesday’s ruling is likely to be criticised by a number of organisations, including some in Lampedusa. Activists and representatives of the Mediterranean Hope Association and the Lampedusa Solidarity Forum have been sleeping outside a parish church in solidarity with those on board Sea-Watch 3, under the motto ‘You are not alone’.

Italy has pushed a hard line against migrant rescue ships since Mr Salvini took office in June 2018. The Italian Interior Minister has previously commented that the Netherlands should be responsible for migrants onboard a rescue ship flying under the Dutch flag.
Since Italy tightened its rules on migration, Malta has spearheaded EU efforts to share migrants rescued at sea in the Mediterranean Sea. On Sunday a group of 37 arrived in the island’s capital Valletta.

German migrant rescue ship Sea-Watch 3 is headed to the Italian island of Lampedusa with migrants on board, despite the threat of a fine. The Italian government wants the ship to dock in Germany or the Netherlands.
Sea-Watch 3 Captain Carola Rackete said Wednesday that the rescue ship would head to Lampedusa with its rescued passengers.
“I’ve decided to enter the port of Lampedusa,” Sea Watch tweeted the ship’s German captain as saying. “I know this is risky, but the 42 shipwrecked on board are exhausted. I will bring them to safety.”
The ship was reported to have entered Italian territorial waters at 2 p.m. local time (1200 UTC) on Wednesday.
The passengers have been on the ship for two weeks, after being picked up earlier this month off the coast of Libya. The ship spent the time circling outside Italian waters off the Lampedusa coast.
While Italy has agreed to take in 11 of the rescued migrants on medical or humanitarian grounds, it has refused to take in the others, saying they should be taken either to Germany or to the Netherlands, where the Sea-Watch is registered.
‘Europe has abandoned us’
Sea-Watch Captain Carola Rakete said that after 14 days “no political and judicial solution was found.” The German navigator said, “Europe has abandoned us.” Rakete had refused to take the rescued people back to Libya, which the UN regards as safe.
Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini successfully proposed a decree to fine charity ships which flout orders to keep out of Italian waters. The range of the fines is from €10,000 to €50,000 ($11,360 to $56,800). There is also the possibility of criminal action against the crew, and the confiscation of the vessel.
The European Court of Human Rights on Tuesday rejected a petition from Sea-Watch to order Italy to take in its boat.

Germany: Interior Minister Seehofer calls right-wing extremists a ‘red line’ for Democrats
German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer described right-wing extremists as a red line that Democrats distance themselves from, during a press conference at the Bundestag in Berlin on Wednesday.
The German Parliament had called for a special session of the committee for Internal Affairs and Homeland to be briefed about the current state of the investigations concerning the murder of Walter Luebcke, which Seehofer, along with General Prosecutor Dr. Peter Frank, President of the Federal Criminal Police Office Holger Muench and President of the Secret Service Thomas Haldenwang delivered during the non-public meeting.
In remarks to the press following the meeting, Seehofer said that the alleged perpetrator, known as Stefan E. had confessed, saying he acted on his own.

Seehofer said that “the consequence is that we have extremism IN GENERAL and right extremism within the Federal Republic of Germany, which I believe is very dangerous, via a personal and causal reinforcement of the security authorities.”

The arrest of a suspect in the killing of local CDU politician Walter Lubcke does not mean the investigation is over, said government spokesperson Steffen Seibert, during a press conference in Berlin on Wednesday.
“We need to look closer at how this could happen, in which circles and what the motivation was,” said Seibert, adding that the right-wing extremist background “is a warning and a call for all of us to fight right-wing extremism and right-wing terrorism with even more dedication.”
Regarding the situation of the far-right activists in Germany, Seibert said that the authorities are aware of the “language glorifying violence and full of hate, which is being used to comment and to threaten.”
Touching on the tensions between the US and Iran, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christopher Burger, said that Germany’s efforts are aimed at reaching all parties in the region.

Russia: Muslim terrorist killed during counter-terrorism operation in Saratov
A counter-terrorism operation in the Russian city of Saratov ended with one Muslim being killed, as shown in footage released on Wednesday.
According to the Federal Security Service (FSB) Public Relations Centre the armed terrorist was ‘neutralized’ after resisting arrest.
The reported member of the so-called Islamic State was allegedly planning an act of terrorism in a crowded location.
The FSB stated that the Muslim fighter acquired everything necessary for the manufacture of explosive devices and had equipped a laboratory for synthesizing explosives in a garage.
The secret service noted that firearms, ammunition and components of several explosive devices were found and seized at the scene of the incident.
Manitoba premier to raise Quebec religious symbol law with western premiers
EDMONTON — Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister says he will be seeking a joint response to Quebec’s new religious symbols law when western premiers meet on Thursday in Edmonton.
Pallister says the legislation is dangerous, un-Canadian and deserves to be opposed.
He says Canada is not a country with two tiers of rights, but one that celebrates diversity.
The law prohibits teachers, police officers and other public servants in positions of authority from wearing religious symbols, and critics say it unfairly targets Muslims, Sikhs and other religious minorities.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is the meeting’s host.
Leaders are expected to discuss shared concerns that include health care and reducing barriers to interprovincial trade.
Leaders of the four western provinces as well as from the three territories are to attend.
Pallister, speaking in an interview, said he will make a proposal to send a joint response on Quebec’s religious symbols law.
“We need to make sure that we don’t restrict people’s freedoms, whether it’s speech or movement or religion,” he said.
Response from federal political leaders to date has been muted probably, in part, because of the national election in the fall, Pallister said.
“They don’t wish to irritate the province of Quebec, but Quebec is one province in a beautiful country,” he said.
“Canada is a beacon around the world for supporting freedoms, not suppressing them.”

Ottawa unveils anti-racism strategy, which includes definition of Islamophobia
The three-year strategy fulfils key recommendations from a parliamentary committee study that arose from a controversial anti-Islamophobia motion, M-103
OTTAWA — The federal government has released a new anti-racism strategy that promises $45 million to fight systemic discrimination through community programs, public education campaigns and combating online hate.
The three-year strategy, unveiled in Toronto on Tuesday by Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez, fulfils key recommendations from a parliamentary committee study that arose from a controversial anti-Islamophobia motion, M-103, which concluded last year.
The new plan, first announced in Budget 2019, includes a definition of Islamophobia taken from the Ontario Human Rights Commission, but otherwise seldom names individual minority groups that are frequent targets of discrimination, instead referring more broadly to “racialized communities” and “religious minorities.”
“While we take pride in being a welcoming and inclusive country, we know that racism and discrimination are still a reality for many Canadians across the country,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “This national anti-racism strategy is an essential first step in building a more inclusive country, where all Canadians can participate equally.”
The strategy promises $4.6 million to establish an anti-racism secretariat within the federal Heritage department that would “lead a whole-of-government approach in addressing racism” and would report publicly on its results.
It commits another $30 million to community-based projects focused on reducing barriers to employment and participation in sport, arts and culture. It promises further investments in a national awareness campaign and to improve data collection regarding racism and discrimination.
The government is also pledging $5 million for civic literacy programs that “address online disinformation and hate speech.” The document points out thatCanada joined the Christchurch Call to Action, a pledge to fight violent extremism online, following the March shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The government’s anti-racism strategy comes more than a year after the House of Commons heritage committee released the results of its study of systemic racism and religious discrimination, born of the Liberals’ controversial anti-Islamophobia motion, M-103, which called on the government to condemn Islamophobia and all forms of racism. Though M-103 was a motion, not a piece of legislation, and thus did not create any new laws, it ignited a political firestorm, with Conservatives arguing it would stifle free speech as, they claimed, the term Islamophobia was poorly defined.
Ultimately, the heritage committee recommended the government update its national action plan against racism and create a directorate to implement the plan — recommendations Ottawa has now fulfilled.

But while the Ontario plan includes a section on the “urgent” need to target Islamophobia, with specific commitments, the federal plan takes a broader approach, rarely making explicit reference to Islamophobia.
Jasmin Zine, a professor of sociology and Muslim studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, said she’s disappointed the document “barely acknowledges” Islamophobia, noting it only once references the 2017 shooting at a mosque in Quebec City that left six men dead. “The lack of political will to address or even acknowledge Islamophobia is an affront to those who were murdered in the QC massacre in an act of terror inspired by white nationalism as well as to all Canadian Muslims,” Zine said in an email.
Though the document names individual groups infrequently, it does include a section on discrimination against Indigenous peoples. It says the government is working to implement the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and is developing an action plan to respond to the final report of the national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women.
The federal government’s definition of anti-Semitism is taken from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, which defines it as “a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
The anti-racism strategy was developed following 22 consultation sessions between October 2018 and March 2019, where the government heard from about 600 people.

Nicaragua: Police arrest 4 Muslim terrorists on their way to Mexico
Four Muslim terrorists with ties to ISIS were captured on Tuesday by members of the Nicaraguan armed forces after entering the country illegally from Costa Rica.
The identities of three of the terrorists matched those of suspects featured in an alert attributed to US Homeland Security Investigations warning Mexican authorities that three terrorists had recently arrived in Central America.
In a statement, Nicaraguan police said two of the terrorists were Egyptian nationals and the other two were Iraqi. The four were due to be deported back to Costa Rica, it added.
The Egyptians were named as Mohamed Ibrahim, 33, and Mahmoud Samy Eissa, 26, while the Iraqis were Ahmed Ghanim Mohamed Al Jubury, 41 and Mustafa Ali Mohamed Yaoob, 29.
The Muslim terrorists entered Nicaragua through an unauthorized crossing point known as La Guasimada in the Cardenas municipality on the southwestern border with Costa Rica.

Selfies of French women posing in bikinis, vests and strapless tops have flooded Twitter. But what has prompted les francaises to ‘get it out’ for social media?
How did it all start?
It began when one Frenchwoman hit back at insults over her cleavage by posting a picture of herself wearing a low-cut top.
More than 4,000 people “liked” the tweet posted last week by a young woman who works in a laboratory, according to her Twitter profile, and has 444 followers.
“So, according to the guy I just passed in the street, this top makes me look like ‘a dirty whore’ … mate, my breasts and I say fuck you,” the woman posted, alongside a photograph of herself wearing a stripy, low-cut vest .
So, why did other women start posting cleavage selfies?
After the initial outpouring of sympathy, the tweet prompted a flood of selfies of women posing in bikinis, vests and strapless tops alongside the hashtag #JeKiffeMonDecollete (I love my cleavage).
A woman going by M Claire posted a photo of herself wearing a blue and pink vest, with the caption “#ILoveMyCleavage too. And my husband loves it. To anyone who’s not happy about that – too bad”.
“#ILoveMyCleavage because I’m a free woman, because our grandmothers fought for our freedom,” another user identified as Marie D’Ange wrote, with a photo
of her low-cut red top.
“My breasts and I beat cancer, and we didn’t do it to get hassle,” said FeeNeante.
What does the law say about sexual harassment?
Last August, French lawmakers passed a new law making sexual harassment in the street punishable with on-the-spot fines.
The law covers behaviour including comments on a woman’s looks or clothing, catcalling, intrusive questions and stalking.
But it’s not just about bare skin…
The onset of high summer temperatures has revived the debate around women’s clothing, but that doesn’t just go for women who are wearing fewer clothes.
The controversial burkini, which was at the centre of a standoff in several seaside towns three years ago — some towns banned the garment, claiming it was a security threat, only to have the bans later overturned by a court — made waves again on Monday.
Right-wing politicians, including National Rally leader Marine Le Pen, hit out at the Islamic full-body swimsuit after a group of burkini-clad activists took a plunge in a public swimming pool Sunday in the southeastern city of Grenoble.
The women are demanding that public pools, which currently require men to wear swim briefs and women to wear bikinis or one-piece swimsuits, change their regulations to accommodate burkini wearers.
Le Pen demanded that local authorities stand firm on pool attire.
“It’s time to say loud and clear that the burkini has no place in France,” Le Pen tweeted.
The centre-right head of the greater Paris region, Valerie Pecresse, also warned against normalising full-body swimsuits.
“If we accept the burkini, in a few years, all the young girls from poor neighbourhoods will be bathing covered up, for moral reasons or to protect their reputations,” she told Radio Classique.
Enforcing traditional swimsuits was necessary to “leave women free”, she argued.

BREITBART – French Locals to Counter Burkini Protest with Nude Swimming
Following an announcement by a group to hold a second “burkini” protest at a pool in the French city of Grenoble, counter-protesters have called on locals to swim in the pool wearing nothing at all.
Last Sunday, a group of around a dozen women belonging to the Alliance Citoyenne (Citizens’ Alliance) protested at a pool that had banned the wearing of the Islamic sharia-compliant swimwear, with police being called soon after the group were told the burkini was against the rules of the pool.
According to a report from France Bleu, the group has announced another protest to take place on Sunday, but this time others on social media have suggested bathers take off all of their clothes and bathe naked in counter-protest.
“Next Sunday, we invite all the citizens attached to the values ??of the Republic to get naked in front of the commandos in burkinis! They want to extinguish the enlightenment: together, let’s drop the bathrobes! Long live secularism uninhibited!” the counter-protesters wrote.
Grenoble’s local government official for sport Sadok Bouzaïene said he did not want to contribute to the “buzz” surrounding the issue saying that the women “have broken the swimming pool rules that exist for reasons of hygiene and safety. We do not exclude anyone but there are rules.”
Hygiene has also been used as a reason to ban the burkini in other swimming pools in Germany and Austria, although a recent case in the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate overturned a ban after a judge deemed it in violation of the constitution.
France has been wrestling with the topic of the sharia swimwear since 2016 when it was banned on public beaches along the French Riviera. That ban was later overturned by the French supreme court later that same year.
The proposal of a nude protest echoes comments made by former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls who slammed the burkini and invoked Marianne, the Goddess of liberty, in a speech saying: “Marianne has a naked breast because she is feeding the people! She is not veiled, because she is free! That is the Republic!”

Erbas referred to Morsi as a martyr and prayed for Allah to grant Turkish children and youth the ability to view people like Morsi as role models.
Erdogan said that he believes that Morsi, who he also said was a martyr, did not die a “normal” death, and that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi is a weak coward, a tyrant, and a killer who should burn in Hell.
He also criticized the West for remaining silent about Morsi’s death, and he said that there are people like Sisi in Turkey who threaten him with the same fate as Morsi’s.
He cautioned the audience against these people and said: “If they understood [martyrdom], they would not say these things.”

Qatari TV Host Ali Ben Rashid Al-Muhannadi said in episodes of a show that aired on May 13 and June 3, 2019 on Qatar Today TV that some women are more busy with matters outside the home than with raising children, looking after their husbands, and taking care of the home, which he described as “the most important thing women were created for.”
He said women should reduce the number of times that they leave their house without a good reason.
He also said that every time a woman leaves the house, she must first obtain permission from her husband; otherwise, she would be committing a sin.
Al-Muhannadi explained that a woman’s obedience to her husband is one of the ways she can enter Paradise.
How Qatar is buying conservative column inches
On June 4, the Washington Times published a “special section” of articles lavishing praise on Qatar, its institutions, and its global influence. Each of these articles was labeled as “sponsored,” although the Times neglects to say by whom. At first glance, this is a surprising insertion in a conservative paper whose editorial board has previously been critical of the Middle Eastern state.…

John Bachtell, chairman of the National Committee of the Communist Party USA, addressed the Communist Party USA’s national convention this past weekend, celebrating its 100th anniversary. Looking at key Democrat Party constituencies as potential fellow travelers, he talked about using this “pivotal moment” in history to help bring about a “democratic and transformative upsurge” for the purpose of radically shifting politics in the United States. He talked about forging a “socialist path,” working as needed “within and alongside the Democratic Party” to defeat “the extreme right and the GOP” including ousting the “fossil fuel, military-industrial complex, and the industrial elite that constitutes its core.” He added that “many of the forces operating within the Democratic Party today”—along with Communist Party members themselves — “will form the working-class party of tomorrow.”
Mr. Bachtell had written back in 2015 how the Communists could use the constituencies of “labor, African Americans, Latinos, other communities of color, women, most union members, young people, and a wide range of social and democratic movements” already within the Democrat Party as “the vehicle” to advance the Communist Party USA’s own agenda.
The Democrat Party today, which has become a grievance machine against the imaginary ills of toxic maleness and white privilege, is helping Mr. Bachtell’s vision become a reality. The communists are shrewdly exploiting the identity politics that have taken over the leftward-leaning Democrat Party of today to serve their own more radical ends. As a result, the communist-progressive Democrat agendas are melding.

All courthouses in Massachusetts have become ICE-free zones because a zealous left-wing Obama judge took it upon herself to forbid immigration officers from detaining suspected illegal aliens on judicial soil.
This lawless order is reportedly the first judicial fiat in the United States to block immigration arrests across an entire state, according to The Epoch Times. Massachusetts happens to be the home of state Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph, who was charged earlier this year under federal law for helping an illegal alien evade an ICE agent in her courthouse.
Although police have been arresting suspects in courthouses ever since courthouses were invented –it is a great deal safer for police than raiding a factory or a home— labor lawyer Indira Talwani, now a judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, granted a preliminary injunction barring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents “from civilly arresting parties, witnesses, and others attending Massachusetts courthouses on official business while they are going to, attending, or leaving the courthouse.” The order specifies that it “does not limit ICE’s criminal arrests of such individuals or its civil arrests of individuals who are brought to Massachusetts courthouses while in state or federal custody.”
President Barack Hussein Obama nominated Talwani Sept. 24, 2013. The U.S. Senate confirmed Talwani on May 8, 2014.
