Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

US President Donald Trump is working to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization (FTO), the White House announced on April 30. The spokesman for Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Omer Celik, responded by saying that if the United States designated the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization, it would “hamper democratization efforts in the Middle East and serve militant groups like Islamic State.”

The Muslim Brotherhood, however, founded in Egypt in 1928, is a pro-jihad, Islamist movement that has branches throughout the world and seeks to implement Islamic sharia under a global caliphate. Terrorism is only one of the methods the Brotherhood employs, and among its, goals, “democratization” has never been seen as one of them.

Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna openly announced that his aim was to bring back the caliphate. The Muslim Brotherhood’s official English-language website quotes Banna:

  3. Iran Is Very Close to the Nuclear Threshold

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Iran is threatening to resume its uranium enrichment effort to the point that it will be able to produce a nuclear bomb. According to Olli Heinonen, who served until 2010 as IAEA deputy director general, Iran will be in a position to acquire nuclear weapons within six to eight months.

IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano confirmed on June 10 that Iran is realizing its threat to increase its rate of uranium enrichment, in direct defiance of the terms of the nuclear agreement of 2015 (JCPOA).

On May 7, Tehran threatened that if no solution was found to the problem of US sanctions, it would ignore the restrictions on uranium enrichment placed on it by the nuclear agreement and enrich up to 20%. Two weeks later, on May 21, Iranian Atomic Energy Organization spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said the uranium enrichment capability at the Natanz plant had increased fourfold. As a result, Iran may soon exceed the limitation on the amount of uranium it is allowed to enrich under the JCPOA.

Former IAEA deputy director general Olli Heinonen recently stated, during a visit to Israel, that he believes Iran will be in a position to acquire nuclear weapons within six to eight months. He later clarified his remarks, explaining that he was referring to the time needed to enrich uranium in the quantity and quality required to produce a nuclear bomb.

  7. Arrest warrants out for 40 FETÖ suspects (hdn, Jun 24, 2019)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/arrest-warrants-out-for-32-feto-suspects-144430

“Turkish prosecutors have issued arrest warrants for 32 people with suspected links to the FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup, a judicial source said on June 24.

Arrest warrants were issued for the suspects as part of a probe into the terror group’s clandestine network in the Turkish Land Forces, a statement by the prosecutors in the capital Ankara said.

The suspects were found to have communicated with “covert imams” — a senior FETÖ member — using pay phones, the statement read.

Some 17 of suspects were active-duty officers in the Turkish Armed Forces, it said, adding that administrative measures have been imposed for others.

The suspects also include two “covert imams” of FETÖ, it said.

In addition, Turkish prosecutors issued arrest warrants for eight FETÖ-linked suspects in simultaneous operations held in the provinces of A?r?, Istanbul, Bursa, Samsun, Malatya, ?anl?urfa, Mardin, Bitlis and Mu?.

Security forces arrested the suspects — including four prison wardens, a teacher and three civilians — accused of being members of the terror group and using phone lines used by senior level members of FETÖ.

FETÖ and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gülen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people killed and nearly 2,200 injured.

Turkey accuses FETÖ of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.”

  8. Turkish fighter jets strike 2 PKK terrorists in N.Iraq (aa, Jun 24, 2019)
    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/turkey/turkish-fighter-jets-strike-2-pkk-terrorists-in-niraq/1514252

“Turkish fighter jets hit two PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry said on Monday.

On Twitter, the ministry said the counter-terrorism operation neutralized terrorists in the Sinat-Haftanin and Zap regions.

Authorities often use the term “neutralized” in statements to imply terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Also, the airstrikes destroyed weapon emplacements, shelters and arms depots used by the PKK terrorists.

On May 27, Turkey launched the Operation Claw against PKK in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq. The ongoing offensive has neutralized 58 so far.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women and children.”

  9. Macron calls for ‘Mediterranean dream’ to be rekindled (ansamed, Jun 24, 2019)

“The Mediterranean is ”not just projects” to build together between the two shores, French president Emmanuel Macron said Monday at the Summit of the Two Shores of the Mediterranean held in Marseille June 23-24.

It is above all, he stressed, ”a myth and a dream”.

Macron called on all participants to rekindle the ”dream” of the Mediterranean, basing it on a ”story” and ”shared mythologies”.

The French president said that, now more than ever, ”there cannot be countries from Southern Europe that begin to be afraid and start looking inward”.

He also called for there to be ”new dialogue with Africa”. In addressing a crowded audience of ministers and civil society at the Palais du Pharo, including Italian foreign minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi, he then said that – when looking at the Mediterranean region – ”we cannot but be worried: from the environmental issue to that of migrants, the symptom of an intolerable inequality between the two shores of the Mediterranean, to the political Islam, forms of nationalism and fears”.

Macron said that though the Mediterranean dream could turn into a nightmare, one must not give up and instead there must be attempts to rekindle the ‘Mare Nostrum’ dream flanking concrete projects. He stressed that dialogue between Mediterranean cities was fundamental to make up for ”these times of difficulty” between governments.”

  10. Sea Watch appeals to European Court of Human Rights (ansamed, Jun 24, 2019)

“The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) said Monday it has received a request from the migrant search-and-rescue vessel Sea Watch 3 for the ECHR to implement interim measures asking Italy to allow the vessel to disembark migrants. The ECHR sent a series of questions to both the Sea Watch 3 and the Italian government, the latter of which must respond by Monday afternoon.

ECHR regulations allow it to ask Italy to adopt what are defined as urgent measures that “serve to prevent serious and irremediable violations of human rights”. The Sea Watch 3 has been stuck in international waters south of Lampedusa since June 12 when it performed a rescue operation off the coast of Libya, and it currently has 43 migrants aboard.”

  11. MEMRI – Video Series about Islamic Caliphate: It Would Have Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Weapons

Between March 13 and 19, 2016, a series of English-language informational videos answering questions about how an Islamic Caliphate would function was uploaded to a YouTube channel of Nahda Productions II, which identifies itself as a “freelance video production unit based in Sydney, Australia.”

The presenters, whose identities are not known, said that the Caliphate would obtain powerful deterrents such as nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological weapons and military satellites and that it would quickly annex land and expand in order to make foreign aggression more difficult.

The presenters emphasized that the primary aim of the Caliphate’s foreign policy would be to use Allah’s legislation to spread and implement Islam throughout the world and to demonstrate the superiority of Islam.

They added that the Caliphate would stretch across the world and control the world’s oceans and waterways, which would incline countries like Germany and China to be allied with the Caliphate, and that countries like Britain and Israel would be actively confronted.

In addition, the presenters explained that Islamic punishments would be meted out in the Caliphate according to shari’a law “without hesitation,” that women would be obligated to cover their entire body, that adulterers would face severe punishment, and that apostasy would be punished by death because it is an attempt to undermine Islamic ideology.

The videos’ descriptions provide a link to khilafah.com, where pro-Caliphate articles are regularly posted and which contains elaborate plans for how the Islamic Caliphate would be structured, and the videos are based on a book titled “The Top 100 Questions on Khilafah” by British Hizb-ut-Tahrir activist Adnan Khan, who also regularly posts on khilafah.com.
