Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • Read the JE Dyer article https://libertyunyielding.com/2019/06/13/escalation-iran-fingered-in-new-attacks-on-oil-tankers-u-s-destroyer-renders-aid-rescues-21/ she is trying to find out more but says that all of the evidence points to Iran as the attacker.

If this is proven we have to retaliate and hopefully it will be by doing something drastic, sink their entire Navy, destroy their entire Air Force. Something like that, something that is a massive retaliation that will give the Iranian people a chance to rebel.

      • If this is proven we have to retaliate and hopefully it will be by doing something drastic, sink their entire Navy, destroy their entire Air Force.

No such thing is needed. As I noted elsewhere today, simply begin a waist-up crushing of Kharg Island, with some beach-side blender drinks to finish things off. Somewhere onshore is a multi-field pipeline pumping manifold whose catastrophic dismantling will cripple Iran’s economy until repaired.

Any attempted retaliation for striking the manifold pumping station sees the entire island complex slowly ground into bits, with all seaside facilities saved for last to avoid unnecessary environmental damage.

        Complimentary rubble-bouncing included.

  1. The Climate Con measures the temperature not of the planet but of corruption. Identity politics (and all that this includes), the deep-state mechanics who engineered the PT coup attempt, and all other enemies of freedom embodied by those who disingenuously campaign in any way against the true meaning of the Stars and Stripes, including foreign actors,
    must be quite worried.

After Joe MaCarthy the watchdog lost his teeth. Now we have PT, who has teeth. But in counterweight to our President (yes OUR) we have an elevated, accelerated, more shrill reaction to conservative voices. This is the result of success, not failure.

The communist virus (or pick any other word you want amounting to tyranny) dies when exposed to daylight. The flickering light that is the shutting down and turning on of Black Pigeon Speaks, for example, is another threat, and warning. YouTube should get heat for this. President Trump must do something with all of these tech tyrants. Buttheir actions, in the meantime, belie greater worry.

The more success voices of freedom have, the more violent will be the Left’s reaction. This is inevitable. This means there are coming, now not later, more bracing shutdowns of favoured sites. There are coming physical attacks against freedom pundits wherever they are found.

Imagine the intellectual brilliance of the founders of these high-tech communications giants. These people are extraordiary in numerous ways. Therefore, to suggest that they do not understand the concepts of freedom, just as we understand them, is ludicrous. Rather, they are drunk on power, and have lost their conscience.

We will now see a heightened viciousness by all enemies domestic and foreign. They’re starting to become frustrated by the Right’s unwllingness to go away gently, and by its broad awakening.

    • And when the bans don’t work they will turn more violent there will be physical attacks on all of the conservative You Tube creators the left can find. not at the same time but over a period of weeks. When all else fails the left will return to physical terror attacks.

    • Therefore, to suggest that they do not understand the concepts of freedom, just as we understand them, is ludicrous. Rather, they are drunk on power, and have lost their conscience.

Le bingo. A demagnetized moral compass is a demagnetized moral compass. No wiggle room on that one, and these shites sure as hell can’t play stupid (QED).

  3. EU and Russia Reportedly Agree to Ditch Greenback in Bilateral Transactions (sputniknews, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/business/201906141075867449-eu-russia-reportedly-agree-ditch-dollar-bilateral-transactions/

“The decision comes a few days after Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed the US dollar as a tool of pressure while speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Maros Sefcovic, vice-president of the European Commission for the Energy Union, have agreed to set up a working group that will deal with a transition to using the rouble and euro in bilateral payments, Russian media outlets reported, citing Siluanov’s spokesman, Andrei Lavrov.

Both sides have reportedly emphasised that the use of national currencies will be mutually beneficial, as it reduces certain risks for entrepreneurs in Russia and the EU.

During their meeting, Siluanov and Sefcovic are said to have discussed the issue of the participation of European businesses in the implementation of national projects in Russia, with the finance minister saying that Moscow is interested in cooperation and sees no obstacles to the involvement of foreign companies.

Siluanov has likewise briefed Sefcovic on concrete measures taken by the Russian government aimed at the improvement of the investment climate in the country and trade liberalisation.

The reported agreement comes on the heels of remarks by Russian Economy Minister Maxim Oreshkin, who told Bloomberg TV last week that the greenback was gradually losing its share in the world market.

“China, Turkey and other major partners are increasing their share in euro, as well as Europe. The dollar is gradually and inevitably losing its share in the world market. This concerns not only Russia, but the whole world as well”, he said on the side-lines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

At the same event, Russian President Vladimir Putin also stressed that since becoming the global reserve currency, the US dollar has turned into a “tool for the issuing country to put pressure on the rest of the world”…”

    • They are getting desperate, they hope they can cause a financial crisis that will prevent PT from being re-elected.

  4. If US Introduces Sanctions Against Turkey Over S-400 Deal, Ankara Will Retaliate – Foreign Minister (sputniknews, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/world/201906141075860575-us-introduces-sanctions-turkey-over-s-400-deal-ankara-to-retaliate-foreign-minister/

“Turkey will retaliate if the United States imposes sanctions on Ankara over its decision to acquire Russia’s S-400 air defence systems, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Friday.

“One country cannot give instructions to another on how to act. The US should abandon this behaviour. Everyone is concerned about this. How far can it go? If the US takes steps against us, then we will be forced to take reciprocal steps”, he said in an interview with the channel NTV.

The foreign minister earlier said that “nobody” is in a position to issue Turkey ultimatums regarding its policy.

Cavusoglu’s remarks come shortly after Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin slammed a letter by US Acting Secretary of Defence Patrick Shanahan to the Turkish Defence Minister that reportedly contains threats to remove Ankara from the F-35 pilot training programme over the S-400 deal.

“This letter contradicts the spirit of allied relations. Simultaneously with the sending of the letter, its content was disclosed to media. This is unacceptable for serious state affairs… Everyone must be sure that we will respond. The presidents of Turkey and the United States will discuss the issue of our F-35 trainees at a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Japan on 29 June”, Kalin said of the letter, seen by the magazine Foreign Policy.

The Turkish side has consistently refused to bow to US threats over the S-400 deal, insisting that the purchase of those weapons is its sovereign affair, and has ruled out the possibility of abandoning plans to complete the acquisition…”

  5. Netizens Outraged Over Imam’s Lecture on Beating ‘Misbehaving’ Wives (sputniknews, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/us/201906141075865011-netizens-outraged-imam-beating-misbehaving-wives/

“Shia imam Bassem al-Sheraa, who lives in Michigan, reportedly held a lecture in Detroit on how to properly teach women who have misbehaved and explained what beating means by referencing the Quran.

Media watchdog Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI, has called out US-based Shia Imam Bassem Al-Sheraa over his lesson on wife beating at the Az-Zahraa Islamic Centre in Detroit. The group published a clip with subtitles from the lecture that was reportedly uploaded on the centre’s YouTube channel in May, in which the cleric is seen dwelling on punishing wives and its interpretation in the Muslim holy book, the Quran.

According to the translation of Bassem Al-Sheraa’s speech, made by MEMRI, Islam’s teaching refers to beating as something that is not supposed to cause pain because it should be done with a teeth cleaning twig to teach a woman a lesson.

He points out that, according to Islamic laws, if a woman’s skin becomes red after beating, one has to pay compensation, and cites the prophet on the matter.

“[The Prophet] said that the beating is meant to remind her that she has misbehaved in cases when words [of admonishment] do not make her change her ways”, the imam says, according to MEMRI.

He also explained that first, husbands should “forsake them in bed”, meaning turning their back on them. If this does not help, the lecturer pointed out that the man can snub her, stop talking to her, or, if these efforts also fail, to teach her with a physical lesson.

“It is just like when your child reaches to touch the electrical socket or a fire. What do you do? You go like that [he said, imitating a slap on the hand]…This is a reminder and a means of clarification. This is what beating means”, he said, as cited by the watchdog.

After the clip surfaced, angry comments poured in, slamming the imam as “wicked” and “evil”.

?It is not the first time Bassem Al-Sheraa has come under the scrutiny of this organisation, which researches Middle Eastern media and public discourse. It earlier accused him of spreading anti-Semitic views and claiming that Jews “employ tricks and fraud in matters of religion and morality, and of amassing gold and spreading usury”.

According to the group, he graduated from the Iraqi Shia seminary, Najaf Hawza, before immigrating to the US, where he took over the position of imam at the Al-Zahraa Islamic Centre of Michigan.”

  6. Iranian President Accuses US of Taking Steps to Damage Stability in Middle East, Whole World (sputniknews, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/world/201906141075864166-iranian-president-accuses-us-of-taking-steps-to-damage-stability-in-middle-east-whole-world/

“The United States is taking steps to damage stability in the Middle East and in the whole world, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Friday, amid the oil tanker incident.

“Over the past two years, the US government, by violating all international structures and rules and using its economic, financial and military capabilities, has implemented an aggressive approach. [Now it] poses a serious threat to stability in the [Middle East] region and the world”, Rouhani said at a meeting of Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek.

According to the Iranian president, Washington is threatening other countries, pushing them to violate a UN Security Council resolution on the Iranian nuclear deal signed in 2015.

“Unfortunately, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the agreement and even threatened other parties [of the deal], calling upon them to violate UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which stands for the normalisation of trade relations with Iran”, Rouhani said.

Tensions are flaring between the United States and Iran following Thursday’s attacks on two oil tankers near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Washington has pinned the blame on Iran, while Tehran has rejected all the claims. In the wake of the incident, the United States announced that a navy destroyer, the USS Mason, was on its way to the Strait of Oman…”

  7. Oil tanker attack: Ship owner rubbishes torpedo attack ‘something came flying at the ship’ (express, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1139836/Oman-oil-tankers-gulf-of-oman-iran-pakistan-explosions-crude-oil

“THE owner of the oil tanker attacked in the Gulf of Oman dismissed US claims it was hit by a torpedo, saying two “flying objects” struck the ship.

The US blamed Iran for the attacking the Kokuka Courageous and another tanker, the Norwegian-owned Front Altair, on Thursday, but Tehran denied the allegations. The Norwegian ship was “suspected of being hit by a torpedo”, according to Taiwan’s state-owned petrol company and the US claimed it had video evidence of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard removing an unexploded mine from the side of the Japanese tanker.

But Yutaka Katada, President of Kokuka Sangyo which owns the Japanese ship said there was no possibility the ship, carrying 25,000 tonnes of methanol, was hit by a torpedo.

Mr Katada said: “The crew told us something came flying at the ship, and they found a hole. Then some crew witnessed the second shot.”

The crew saw an Iranian military ship in the vicinity on Thursday night Japan time, Katada said.

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt backed the US assessment of the attacks.

He said: “We are going to make our own independent assessment, we have our processes to do that, but we have no reason not to believe the American assessment and our instinct is to believe it because they are our closest ally.”

One of the ships, the Front Altair, was on fire after being hit by a suspected torpedo but the vessel’s owner denied reports it had sunk. The second ship, the Kokuka Courageous, was afloat but the hull was damaged. The tankers were both evacuated, with 44 crew members rescued.

Japanese Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko said on Friday that the incidents will be discussed at a meeting of G20 energy and environment ministers this weekend.

Mr Seko declined to comment on American officials blaming Iran, saying Japan is still investigating the incident, which occurred while Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was in Tehran trying to help ease rising tensions between the United States and Iran.

It comes as the standoff between the US and Iran is threatening to reach boiling point.

A similar attack took place a month ago when four tankers were struck in the area, which Washington blamed on Tehran.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is currently visiting Iran in a bid to de-escalate the tensions…”

  8. Boris Johnson compared to Adolf Hitler by chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum (express, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1140341/Boris-Johnson-news-Adolf-Hitler-Tory-leader-Tory-Party-leadership-results

“TORY Party leadership candidate and frontrunner Boris Johnson has been compared to Adolf Hitler by a Muslim leader in the Conservative Party.

Conservative Party leadership candidate Boris Johnson, who is the current favourite to take over from Theresa May, has been compared to Adolf Hitler by a Muslim leader in the Conservative Party. Mohammed Amin, Chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum, criticised the former foreign secretary for not having the “basic morality and integrity” to be Prime Minister. Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Mr Amin said: “There are many horrible people who have been popular. Popularity is not the test.

“The test is, ‘is this person sufficiently moral to be Prime Minister’, and I believe he fails that test.”

As the host pointed out many Tory MPs believe Mr Johnson is the right man to take the country forward, Mr Amin replied: “A lot of Germans thought that Hitler was the right man for them.”

He added: “I’m not saying Boris Johnson wants to send people to the gas chamber. Clearly, he doesn’t, he’s a buffoon.

“But he as far as I’m concerned has insufficient concern about the nature of truth for me to ever be a member of a party that he leads.”

Mr Amin admitted he would walk away from the party if Mr Johnson was elected as leader. He said: “I am not prepared to be a member of a party that chooses him as its leader.

“I would resign after 36 years.”

Mr Amin said a column Mr Johnson wrote last August comparing women who wore burkas to “letter boxes and bank robbers” had put some Muslim women at risk.

He said: “He knew exactly what effect it would have – it would lead to Muslim women who wear niqab and burka being verbally abused on the streets; in certain cases being physically assaulted, with people trying to tear it off.

“He chose to mock Muslim women who wear niqab and burka for his own purposes.”

During a speech on Wednesday, Mr Johnson was quizzed over the language he has used in the past…”

    • Perhaps he could explain the “morality”of murdering innocent people with bombs, guns and knives, raping children and abusing women, clearly this mental defective does not understand the English word morality.

  9. ISIS jihadi walks free from jail as judge says he’s of GOOD CHARACTER (express, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1140465/isis-syria-Sydney-Airport-australia-Moudasser-Taleb

“A MAN arrested at an Australian airport as he tried to travel to Syria, has been released from custody after being handed a ‘five-year behaviour bond’.

Moudasser Taleb, was arrested at Sydney Airport in 2017, and found guilty in April of preparing to travel to Syria for the purpose of engaging in hostile activities. Mr Taleb was 22-years-old when he was detained at the airport in June 2017. At the time of his arrest he had no plane ticket and little money. Mr Taleb’s defence had pleaded not guilty and claimed he had no intention of engaging in warfare.

He was later found to have videos on his phone of beheadings, people waving Isis flags and footage of battlefields.

They also claimed he was mentally ill at the time, and was diagnosed with schizophrenia after he entered custody.

At New South Wales supreme court, Justice Peter Hamill said the two years Mr Taleb had spend in custody was adequate and found him to be of good character.

Justice Hamill said he was aware of “professional critics of the court” who will criticise his decision.

However, the Judge pointed to the complex circumstances of the case “cry out for a sentence that fosters this young and mentally ill offender’s rehabilitation”.

He added Mr Taleb was “an inappropriate vehicle” for a sentence.

Justice Hamill said: “In many cases, the better way to protect society is to foster the rehabilitation of the offender even where the result appears to be a lenient one and may prove to be unpopular amongst commentators who appear to take the view that no sentence is ever long enough.”

Following the hearing Mr Taleb welcomed the ruling, he said: “I’d like to thank the judge for releasing me and I just want to put all of this behind me and move on with my life.”

The five-year behaviour bond is imposed with a set of strict conditions.

For the first two years Mr Taleb must not use messaging app Telegram.

In addition he is forbidden from access to any material controlled by IS or any other group espousing radical Islam and continue treatment for his mental illness.”

  10. Terrorists can work at airports without MI5 being tipped off (express, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1140459/terrorists-airports-MI5-khuram-butt-tube-court-inquest

“TERROR suspects can still land jobs at airports and major railway hubs without police or MI5 being tipped off, a court heard yesterday.

Even potential jihadists seen as “high-risk” and under investigation could slip through the net. Khuram Butt was under investigation by Scotland Yard and the security services when he was recruited by Transport for London in May 2016. The inquest into the London Bridge atrocity heard that Butt, 27, was allowed to work at various Tube stations including Westminster, near Parliament. At the time, he was the target of a joint police/MI5 probe as a “high-risk” terror suspect.

The security loophole emerged as a senior MI5 officer, known as Witness L, gave evidence. The officer agreed when Gareth Patterson, QC, representing the families of six victims, said: “Would you agree that risks are being taken if terror suspects are being permitted to hold down jobs where the transport infrastructure is vulnerable?” Speaking from behind a screen at the Old Bailey, Witness L also accepted Mr Patterson’s question: “Is the position that to this day, people can still be terror suspects and start working at these sorts of locations without you or the counter-terrorism police being notified of it?” The officer said there was no evidence that Butt took the job for “nefarious purposes”.

MI5 launched an investigation into Butt in 2015 after intelligence said he was linked to terror but the probe was suspended twice – once in February 2016 after attacks in Paris and again after the Westminster Bridge atrocity in March 2017.

MI5 was initially unaware Butt was regularly going to a gym run by a notorious terrorist suspect while on sick leave.

Butt’s accomplices Rachid Redouane, 30, and Youssef Zaghba, 22, also went to the gym in Ilford, east London. But Witness L said training at a gym was not a risk factor in itself.

Butt was still under investigation when he led the attack in June 2017 which claimed eight innocent lives.

The MI5 probe was being wound down and his movements or calls not being monitored in the days leading up to the outrage. The inquest continues.”

    • Is it yust me, or are previously Left-canted voices like Black Pigeon, Sarkad, and Tim Pool becoming Right-of-center as, like a mugged Lefty, they get censored read the writing on the wall?

00:06:26 – “…Social Media is, perhaps, one of the most destabilizing forces ever created.

Smart phones in the hands of gullible users and consumers is like giving a toddler an un-safed, hair trigger, fully loaded automatic. Today’s iPhones have far more processing power than the original Cray supercomputers.

Does anyone honestly believe that mega-app writers don’t find ways to milk the unreal digital bandwidth available in order to side-lobe everything else from GPS to email pings? Any machine that powerful, regardless of size, has the ability to profile your personal activity (even when turned off) in ways that defy ordinary imagination.

As an example, the micro-accelerometer that detects when you rotate the screen over to landscape mode also can record lots of small motion (i.e., partial G) activity like walking and slips or falls. It would not be surprising to find out that iPhones run a time-stamped “black box” log of kinetic shocks experienced by the unit solely to diagnose owner abuse or point failures.

This is done with top dollar (i.e., multimillion dollar systems) semiconductor capital equipment and other extremely sensitive shipments. The range of detectors span everything from hourglass-technology “tip-and-tells” to sealed box, multichannel environmental recorders that track motion, shocks, temperature, humidity, impinging electrostatic or other EMF fields, and so forth.

Imagine dragging one of those semi tool black boxes around with you in daily life. That’s the role your smart phone is fulfilling. All that extra bandwidth will not be let go to waste, bet your last cent on that.

NONE OF WHICH touches upon the much larger issue addressed by Black Pigeon.

This latest convolving of victimhood and censorship is especially lethal because it (as BPS notes), it instantly transforms “microaggressors” into the “other” and begins greasing the slippery slope into dehumanization and genocide.

Older, Conservative White males are now the universal enemy, even more so that Christians—something rather difficult to imagine as things stand. It always amuses me to think how White males are suddenly responsible for all:

      • War
      • Crime
      • Rape (including so-called, “Rape Culture”)
      • Slavery
      • Tyranny
      • Genocide
      • Corruption
      • Pollution

This, despite how all of the foregoing social dysfunctions existed LONG BEFORE ANY WHITE MAN TROD THE FACE OF THIS EARTH. Moreover, minorities tend to practice the above criminal laundry-list far more frequently and savagely than any Caucasian culture has in all of White history.

We just happen to refine these toxins and poisons on scales that simply never occur to lower IQ minds.—but so much for Western ingenuity.

In today’s Kaliyuga, only Islam, itself, is all that stands in the way of older White males being “credibly” blamed for global terrorism. And that’s not for want of trying on the Left’s part.

  11. End bloodshed on our streets: Outcry over jail let-off for 2 in 3 knife thugs (express, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1140447/britain-knife-crime-jail-thugs

“JUDGES were urged to get much tougher on knife crime last night as figures revealed almost two out of three thugs caught with blades avoid going to jail.

A record number of people were stabbed to death last year – 732 – as the homicide rate hit the highest level in a decade. Knives were used in four in five killings. Yet only 8,219 of the 22,041 knife or weapon offenders brought to court in 2018 received an immediate prison sentence. The number of knife convictions in the year to March was a record high, prompting calls for criminals carrying knives to face “the full force of the law”.

John Apter, chairman of the Police Federation, said: “There are extreme acts of violence, including with knives, that are going without prison sentences.

“When you’re in court for sentencing, they will put up the mitigating factors, such as that they have had a difficult childhood, and I accept that.

“But we have got to think about the impact on the victims and the threat that individual poses to society.

“There are critics and academics who say that short term prison sentences just don’t work. But the question I would ask is, who isn’t it working for? Is it working for the victims?” Ministry of Justice figures revealed that judges imposed 4,184 suspended sentences in the year to March compared with 2,213 in 2013, almost double.

The number of community sentences jumped 20 percent from 4,305 in 2015 to 5,156 last year.

The 22,041 cases of knife crime in the year to March was up 34 percent on three years ago. One problem for sentencing is the age of culprits.

One in five of those caught was between 10 and 17.

But former Policing Minister Sir Mike Penning told the Daily Express: “I don’t think anybody will understand why the full force of the law is not coming down on people that want to carry blades in a public place.

“They are only taking them there for one reason. They say they want to protect themselves, but they would be willing to use it.We have got to drive it off the streets and the only way you are going to do that is to back the police instead of tying their hands behind their backs.”

Earlier this year Chief Constable Andy Cooke of Merseyside Police called in the Daily Express for judges to send more criminals carrying knives straight to prison.

The number of thugs dealt with for their first knife and offensive weapons offence increased by 24 percent last year to 14,183 – the fifth rise in five years. But other campaigners want more done to stop youths carrying knives in the first place.

Patrick Green, of the anti-knife crime Ben Kinsella Trust, named for a 16-year-old stabbed to death in London, said: “It is deeply concerning to see that knife crime offences and in particular the number of first time offenders continues to rise.

“We are failing to address the root causes of knife crime and there needs to be a much stronger focus on prevention and early intervention.””

  12. Exclusive: Facebook’s Process to Label You a ‘Hate Agent’ Revealed (breitbart, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2019/06/13/exclusive-facebooks-process-to-label-you-a-hate-agent-revealed/

“Facebook monitors the offline behavior of its users to determine if they should be categorized as a “Hate Agent,” according to a document provided exclusively to Breitbart News by a source within the social media giant.

The document, titled “Hate Agent Policy Review” outlines a series of “signals” that Facebook uses to determine if someone ought to be categorized as a “hate agent” and banned from the platform.

Those signals include a wide range of on- and off-platform behavior. If you praise the wrong individual, interview them, or appear at events alongside them, Facebook may categorize you as a “hate agent.”

Facebook may also categorize you as a hate agent if you self-identify with or advocate for a “Designated Hateful Ideology,” if you associate with a “Designated Hate Entity” (one of the examples cited by Facebook as a “hate entity” includes Islam critic Tommy Robinson), or if you have “tattoos of hate symbols or hate slogans.” (The document cites no examples of these, but the media and “anti-racism” advocacy groups increasingly label innocuous items as “hate symbols,” including a cartoon frog and the “OK” hand sign.)

Facebook will also categorize you as a hate agent for possession of “hate paraphernalia,” although the document provides no examples of what falls into this category.

The document also says Facebook will categorize you as a hate agent for “statements made in private but later made public.” Of course, Facebook holds vast amounts of information on what you say in public and in private — and as we saw with the Daily Beast doxing story, the platform will publicize private information on their users to assist the media in hitjobs on regular American citizens.

Breitbart News has already covered some of the individuals that Facebook placed on its list of potential “hate agents.” Paul Joseph Watson eventually was categorized as “hateful” and banned from the platform, in part, according to the document, because he praised Tommy Robinson and interviewed him on his YouTube channel. Star conservative pundit Candace Owens and conservative author and terrorism expert Brigitte Gabriel were also on the list, as were British politicians Carl Benjamin and Anne Marie Waters.

The Benjamin addition reveals that Facebook may categorize you as a hate agent merely for speaking neutrally about individuals and organizations that the social network considers hateful. In the document, Facebook tags Benjamin with a “hate agent” signal for “neutral representation of John Kinsman, member of Proud Boys” on October 21 last year.

Facebook also accuses Benjamin, a classical liberal and critic of identity politics, as “representing the ideology of an ethnostate” for a post in which he calls out an actual advocate of an ethnostate.

In addition to the more unorthodox signals that Facebook uses to determine if its users are “hate agents,” there is also, predictably, “hate speech.” Facebook divides hate speech into three tiers depending on severity and considers attacks on a person’s “immigration status” to be hate speech.

Here’s how “hate speech” — both on and off Facebook — will be categorized by the platform, according to the document:

Individual has made public statements, or statements made in private and later made public, using Tier 1, 2, or 3 hate speech or slurs:

3 instances in one statement or appearance = signal
5 instances in multiple statements or appearances over one month = signal

If you’ve done this within the past two years, Facebook will consider it a hate signal.

Other signals used by Facebook to determine if its users should be designated as hate agents include carrying out violence against people based on their “protected or quasi-protected characteristics,” attacks on places of worship, and conviction of genocide.

  13. Report: Europol Details Islamic State Demand for More Female Jihadists (breitbart, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/middle-east/2019/06/14/report-europol-details-islamic-state-demand-for-more-female-jihadists/

“Islamic State’s recruitment and use of women to support its extremist cause could pave the way for more front-line roles for women in jihadi groups in the future, the European Union’s police agency said in a report published Friday.

In the 34-page report entitled Women in Islamic State Propaganda, Europol said “female jihadis are as ideologically motivated as their male counterparts and their sense of empowerment lies in contributing to the building of an Islamic state.”

It concludes that “numerous examples” of women, who either carried out extremist attacks or were arrested preventively, “prove that women are willing to use violence if the ideology allows them to do so. For now, it is not yet their role, but this balance may easily shift according to the organization’s strategic needs and developments on the ground,”

The report comes amid concerns about the risk posed by foreign fighters, including women, returning to their homes in Europe after the fall of the self-styled Islamic State caliphate in Syria and Iraq.

Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle said that 15% people convicted on “jihadi terrorism charges” in the EU in 2018 were women.

The report’s authors studied propaganda targeting women, but also mentioned women who take active roles in Islamist combat, saying they were sometimes used to shame men into taking part in the group’s armed struggle.

The report cited an example from an Islamic State publication that praised three women who attacked a police station in Mombasa, Kenya, in 2016 and asked what was wrong with men who had “laid down their swords.”

At its peak, in 2014-15, IS controlled an area the size of Britain across Syria and Iraq and launched a series of attacks around the world.

In March, U.S.-backed forces declared victory over IS, but the group’s affiliates in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, Afghanistan and other countries continue to pose a threat, and the group’s ideology has inspired so-called lone-wolf attacks that had little if any connection to its leadership.”

  15. Swedish Migration Board Approves Deporting Radical Imams (breitbart, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/06/14/swedish-migration-board-approves-deporting-radical-imams/

“The Swedish Migration Board has granted approval for the deportation of radical Imam Abo Raad after a request from the Swedish security service Säpo who had previously arrested several Islamic leaders.

Imam Abo Raad, who lived in Gävle, is one of two Imams scheduled for deportation following the decision by the Migration Board along with another man. All three were arrested as part of the Act on Special Aliens Control which grants Swedish police and security services the ability to request for the deportation of those deemed a security threat, Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Radio reports.

A spokesperson for the Gävle mosque commented on the decision to expel their imam saying, “it is very regrettable that Sweden takes such a serious decision to expel him,” and added that Raad may face persecution in his native Iraq or even face a prison term.

Abo Raad’s lawyer Alparslan Tügel announced shortly after the decision was made public that he would be filing an appeal saying, “The first reaction is of course that this is not the output we had hoped for. But we look forward with confidence to the next instance.”

Tügel reiterated that the imam could face danger in Iraq and that the situation for him would make the deportation impossible to actually carry out.

A spokesman for Säpo commented on the possibility of not being able to deport radical Islamists saying that they would be forced to closely monitor the individuals who were unable to be deported.

Sweden has seen a large growth in the number of radical Islamic extremists in recent years, with a report released by National Center for Terror Threat Assessment (NCT) earlier this year noting that radical Islamic extremism was the number one threat to Swedish state security despite victories against the Islamic State terror group.

Sweden has also seen a number of Islamic State returnees in recent months, with some reports alleging that the returning members may be attempting to recruit and radicalise in the southern city of Malmö.”

  16. Oil tanker attacks echo Persian Gulf’s 1980s ‘Tanker War’ (abcnews, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/oil-tanker-attacks-echo-persian-gulfs-1980s-tanker-63712702

“Mysterious attacks on oil tankers near the strategic Strait of Hormuz this week show how one of the world’s crucial chokepoints for global energy supplies can be easily targeted, 30 years after the U.S. Navy and Iran were entangled in a similarly shadowy conflict called the “Tanker War.”

While the current tensions are nowhere near the damage done then, it underscores how dangerous the situation is and how explosive it can become.

The so-called “Tanker War” involved American naval ships escorting reflagged Kuwaiti oil tankers through the Persian Gulf and the strait after Iranian mines damaged vessels in the region. It culminated in a one-day naval battle between Washington and Tehran, and also saw America accidentally shoot down an Iranian passenger jet, killing 290 people.

U.S. estimates suggest Iran attacked over 160 ships in the late 1980s confrontation.

“We need to remember that some 30% of the world’s crude oil passes through the straits,” said Paolo d’Amico, the chairman of the oil tanker association INTERTANKO. “If the waters are becoming unsafe, the supply to the entire Western world could be at risk.”

So far, six oil tankers have been damaged in suspected limpet mine attacks, explosives that can be magnetically stuck to the side of a ship. The first attack happened May 12 off the coast of the Emirati port city of Fujairah and targeted four tankers. Thursday’s apparent attack damaged two other tankers.

The U.S. has blamed Iran for both incidents, offering a video on Friday it said showed Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces spirit away one mine stuck to a tanker that didn’t explode in Thursday’s assault. For its part, Iran denies being involved and calls the allegations part of America’s “Iranophobic campaign” against it.

Meanwhile, the owner of the tanker Kokuka Courageous said its sailors saw “flying objects” before the attack, suggesting it wasn’t damaged by mines and contradicting the U.S. military.

Confusion pervaded the start of the “Tanker War” as well.

That conflict grew out of the bloody eight-year war between Iraq and Iran in the 1980s, which began when Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein invaded Iran. The war killed 1 million people. The U.S. supported Saddam by providing intelligence, weaponry and other aid.

Iraq first targeted Iran’s shipping and by 1984 attacked Kharg Island, a crucial oil-tanker-loading terminal for Iran. Its air force also attacked ships in the Persian Gulf. After the Kharg attack, Iran began a concerted campaign to attack shipping in the region.

Iraq ultimately would attack over 280 vessels to Iran’s 168, according to the U.S. Naval Institute.

The Iran’s mining campaign began in earnest in 1987. At night, the Revolutionary Guard would drop mines from vessels disguised as traditional dhows, which ferry cargo around the waters of the Persian Gulf.

As attacks targeted Kuwaiti oil tankers, the U.S. ultimately stepped in to protect them. The Soviet Union also volunteered.

While mines represented a small number of the attacks, their psychological impact grew. They also allowed Iran to attack its foes without having to take direct responsibility.

The mines were described as “God’s angels that descend and do what is necessary,” by Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who would later become president of Iran.

Analysts say use of naval mines and bombs is a trend that continues today.

“Iran’s strategy at sea particularly is based on disruption,” said Dave DesRoches, a professor at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington. “They know they can’t dominate. They have to disrupt.”

Ultimately, the U.S. tied Iran to the mining when it captured the Ajr, an Iranian ship loaded with mines in 1987. When the USS Samuel B. Roberts struck a mine and nearly sank the next year, the Navy matched it to those seized from the Ajr.

The attack on the Roberts sparked a daylong naval battle between Iran and the U.S., known as Operation Praying Mantis. American forces attacked two Iranian oil rigs and sank or damaged six Iranian vessels.

Several months later, tragedy struck. The USS Vincennes, after chasing Guard vessels into Iranian territorial waters, mistook an Iran Air commercial jetliner for an Iranian F-14, shooting it down and killing all 290 people onboard.

Thirty years later, events of the “Tanker War” still resonate in Iran.

A recent billboard put up in Tehran’s Vali-e-Asr Square shows U.S. and Israeli ships afire and sinking, with captions in English, Farsi, Arabic and Hebrew reading: “We Drowned Them All.”

While the billboard is meant to show support for the Palestinians — it prominently features Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque — it came just days after the Fujairah attack.

Around this time as well, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei gave an address to university students, who gave him a portrait of Nader Mahdavi, a Revolutionary Guard soldier killed in a U.S. attack amid the “Tanker War.”

“The supreme leader asked whose picture it was and I replied, ‘Mahdavi,'” the semi-official ANA news agency quoted the student who gave the portrait to Khamenei as saying. “The supreme leader smiled and said, ‘Excellent, very timely.'””

“Indian police said they have arrested a Facebook friend of the suspected mastermind of the Easter Sunday bomb attacks in Sri Lanka for spreading Islamic State group ideology on social media to recruit young people to participate in a terrorist attack in southern India.

A criminal case was filed against Mohammed Azarudeen after authorities raided his home in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, according to the National Investigation Agency, which oversees counterterrorism efforts.

Authorities conducted six other raids and took five other people in for questioning, it said in a statement Friday.

It said Azarudeen was friends on Facebook with Zahran Hashim, the alleged leader of the suicide bomb attacks in Sri Lanka on Easter that killed more than 250 people.

The statement said Azarudeen and other members of his group shared “radical contents” attributed to Hashim on a Facebook page.

Hashim, who died along with six others after detonating bombs at three churches and three high-end hotels in Sri Lanka, was known for violent Islamic speeches in the Tamil language on social media that Muslim community leaders said they had flagged to authorities long before the attack…”

“A German court has lifted a city’s ban on the burkini, an all-encompassing swimsuit used by some Muslim women.

Wearing the garments in municipal pools in the western city of Koblenz was forbidden at the beginning of this year after the local council narrowly approved a ban. Officials argued that the suite makes it impossible to check whether wearers have open wounds or diseases.

The rules were challenged by a Syrian asylum-seeker, a pious Muslim who said doctors had recommended that she use a swimming pool to tackle pain caused by a back problem.

Rhineland-Palatinate state’s top administrative court said Friday it has issued an injunction lifting the burkini ban pending fuller consideration of the case. It found the rules violated the German constitution’s call for people to be treated equally.”

“Five key suspects in Easter Sunday bomb attacks on Sri Lankan churches and hotels have been extradited from the Middle East, police said Friday.

Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said the suspects arrived early Friday from Saudi Arabia after their arrest in an unspecified Middle Eastern country.

Gunasekara said the five include the main suspect in the killing of two policemen last year at a checkpoint in eastern Sri Lanka, in an attack blamed on Islamic extremists. He was identified as Hayathu Mohamed Ahmed Milhan.

Gunasekara said a total of 102 suspects are now being held in connection with the Easter suicide bomb attacks on three churches and three tourist hotels that killed more than 250 people. About 500 people were wounded.

Seven suicide bombers blew themselves up at their targets on April 21 while another bomber whose explosives failed at a fourth hotel killed himself later that day in a motel. A woman also killed herself by activating explosives after police surrounded her home.

The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.”

Bloomberg said late Thursday that Kerim Karakaya and Fercan Yalinkilic have been accused of trying to undermine Turkey’s economic stability over a story they wrote in August 2018.

The news agency also says that prosecutors have charged 36 others for their social media comments on the story because they deemed them to be critical of Turkey’s economy.

Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait condemned the indictment and defended the reporterse for reporting “fairly and accurately on newsworthy events.”

  21. ‘MISCHIEVOUS PLOT’ Iran accuses the US of LYING about the ‘suspicious’ attack on American-linked oil tanker and denies ordering ‘torpedo’ assault

    By Jenny Awford

IRAN has accused the US of lying about the “torpedo attack” on an American-linked oil tanker as tensions reach breaking point.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Iran for the “blatant” attacks on two tankers which burst into flames in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday.

But Iran has hit back at the “unfounded and reckless” claims and accused the US of “warmongering” as part of a “disinformation campaign”.

“The US and its regional allies must stop warmongering and put an end to mischievous plots and false flag operations in the region,” Iran’s mission to the United Nations said.

“Warning, once again, about all of the US coercion, intimidation and malign behaviour, Iran expresses concern over suspicious incidents for the oil tankers that occurred today.”

It came after Pompeo pointed the finger at Iran and the Pentagon released images and footage as “proof” of Iranian involvement.

    • JAPAN TODAY – Operator of tanker says sailors saw ‘flying objects’ just before attack

TOKYO – The Japanese operator ship operator of one of two oil tankers attacked near the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday said that sailors on board its vessel, the Kokuka Courageous, saw “flying objects” just before the attack, suggesting the tanker wasn’t damaged by mines.

That account contradicts what the U.S. military has said as it released a video it says shows Iranian forces removing an unexploded limpet mine from one of the two ships in the suspected attack.

Speaking at a news conference in Tokyo, Yutaka Katada, president of Kokuka Sangyo Co, said he believes the flying objects seen by the sailors could be bullets, and denied possibility of mines or torpedoes because the damages were above the ship’s waterline. He called reports of mine attack “false.”

Katada said the crew members also spotted an Iranian naval ship nearby, but did not specify whether that was before or after the attacks. The tanker survived the first attack that hit near the engine room, followed by another causing damage to the star-board side toward the back.

Meanwhile, Japan’s defense minister said the government has no intention of sending Japanese troops to respond to attacks on a Japanese-operated oil tanker in the Middle East.

All 21 Filipino crewmembers of the vessel were rescued and were now on a U.S. warship.

Takeshi Iwaya told reporters at a news conference that the situation is not considered an imminent threat to Japan.

Iwaya said Japan doesn’t think the so-called “Self-Defense Force has a necessarily role to play at this point and we don’t plan to send them to the Strait of Hormuz region in response to the attacks.”

    • reuters – ‘Flying objects’ damaged Japanese tanker during attack in Gulf of Oman

TOKYO (Reuters) – Two “flying objects” damaged a Japanese tanker owned by Kokuka Sangyo Co in an attack on Thursday in the Gulf of Oman, but there was no damage to the cargo of methanol, the company president said on Friday.

The Kokuka Courageous is now sailing toward the port of Khor Fakkan in the United Arab Emirates, with the crew having returned to the ship after evacuating because of the incident, Kokuka President Yutaka Katada told a press conference. It was being escorted by the U.S. Navy, he said.

“The crew told us something came flying at the ship, and they found a hole,” Katada said. “Then some crew witnessed the second shot.”

Katada said there was no possibility that the ship, carrying 25,000 tons of methanol, was hit by a torpedo.

The United States has blamed Iran for attacking the Kokuka Courageous and another tanker, the Norwegian-owned Front Altair, on Thursday, but Tehran has denied the allegations.

The ship’s crew saw an Iranian military ship in the vicinity on Thursday night Japan time, Katada said.

Katada said he did not believe Kokuka Courageous was targeted because it was owned by a Japanese firm. The tanker is registered in Panama and was flying a Panamanian flag, he said.

“Unless very carefully examined, it would be hard to tell the tanker was operated or owned by Japanese,” he said.

The tanker was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz, a major strategic waterway through which about one-fifth of global oil consumption passes on its way from Middle Eastern producers including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE and Kuwait as well as Iran.

“This strait is very crucial. Without this route we can not transport gasoline and heavy oil to Japan,” Katada said. “Unless another major incident occurs, as long as we get approval from our crew, we will continue operating our tankers via this route to Saudi Arabia.”

Japanese Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko said on Friday that the incidents will be discussed at a meeting of G20 energy and environment ministers this weekend.

Seko declined to comment on American officials blaming Iran, saying Japan is still investigating the incident, which occurred while Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was in Tehran trying to help ease rising tensions between the United States and Iran.

  23. Special Report: They fled Venezuela’s crisis by boat – then vanished

GUIRIA, Venezuela (Reuters) – A taxi dropped Maroly Bastardo and her two small children by a cemetery not far from the shore in northeast Venezuela. She still had time to change her mind.

Eight months pregnant, Bastardo faced forbidding choices in a nation whose economy has collapsed. Give birth in Venezuela, where newborns are dying at alarming rates in shortage-plagued maternity wards. Or board a crowded smuggler’s boat bound for Trinidad, the largest of two islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago. Her husband, Kennier Berra, had landed there in February, found work and beckoned her to join him.

Bastardo’s mother, Carolina, begged her to stay.

Neither Bastardo or her children could swim. Barely three weeks earlier, 27 people had gone missing after a migrant boat went down in the narrow stretch of water separating Venezuela from Trinidad. The 20-kilometer strait, known for its treacherous currents, is nicknamed the Dragon’s Mouths.

But the 19-year old hairdresser was determined. On May 16, she and the kids packed into an aging fishing vessel along with 31 other people, including three relatives of her husband. They snapped cellphone photos from the shore near the port town of Guiria, where thousands of Venezuelans have departed in recent years, and messaged loved ones goodbye.

The craft, the Ana Maria, never arrived. No migrants or wreckage have been found.

A man believed to be the boat’s pilot, a 25-year-old Venezuelan named Alberto Abreu, was plucked from the sea on May 17 by a fisherman and taken to nearby Grenada. Abreu told his rescuer the Ana Maria had sunk the night before. He fled before police could complete their investigation, Grenadian authorities said, and hasn’t been spotted since.

  24. Escalation: Iran fingered in new attacks on oil tankers; U.S. destroyer renders aid, rescues 21; *UPDATE* Video of Iran taking mine off vessel
    By J.E. Dyer June 13, 2019

There’s a lot of detail lacking on Thursday’s attacks in the Gulf of Oman on two oil tankers. In the interest of getting a post up, I won’t wait for further clarification at this point, but run with what we’ve got.

What we’ve got indicates that this pair of attacks is an escalation from the attacks in May on four tankers off the coast of UAE. Those tankers were at anchor or at least operating close to shore at very low speeds, and could reasonably have been attacked with limpet mines placed shortly before holes were blown at their water lines. The flag nations concluded afterward that that was the type of attack, with divers having been used to place the mines on the tankers’ hulls.

The attacks on Thursday 13 June were on ships in transit in the center of the Gulf of Oman. Both had recently exited the Persian Gulf, and presumably were at transit speeds between 12 and 15 knots (nautical miles per hour).

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2019/06/13/escalation-iran-fingered-in-new-attacks-on-oil-tankers-u-s-destroyer-renders-aid-rescues-21/

    • It looks like Iran is uping the level of violence in the Middle East we have attacks on ships, missiles from Yemen into Saudi and missiles from Gaza into Israel. As J.E. points out there are several possible methods that could have been used to carry out the attacks on the ships. The video of the limpet mine being removed from a tanker says that at least one of the attacks were carried out that way. However the report of damage on one of the ships below the water line could be either limpet or a torpedo. Granted there are reports of flying projectiles, these reports could be true and cruise missiles were fired (possibly from the Iranian midget subs) or from a fast attack boat that was out of sight.

The probability of a third party making the attacks to try and get Iran in more trouble is low. The attacks took place on the side of the ships that was not facing Iran Implying that they attacks were carried out in a manner to confuse the issue of who did the attacking. This combined with the video of the limpet mine being removed says that Iran carried out the attacks. As I previously stated the attacks are an increase in the violence because of the strike below the water line on one of the ships. The previous attacks were on the stern of the ships and seemed to be designed to not endanger the ships, the crew and to limit or eliminate the possibility of an oil spill. These attacks were amidships where there was a much greater probability of oil spills and fires on the ships, fires that could cause the ship to sink.

  25. Jury’s punitive damages bump Oberlin College’s defamation judgment bill to $33 million

It appears there’s one jury in Ohio that means business when it comes to deterring future attempts to destroy small companies with specious charges of “racism.”

LU’s Howard Portnoy reported on Tuesday that an Ohio jury had awarded Gibson’s Baked Goods and Candy $11 million in compensatory damages after the more-than-century-old bakery was targeted by Oberlin College over a shoplifting incident involving a student. The student, who is black, was caught trying to steal wine from the bakery. When the police were called, the student claimed a store “employee ‘apprehended and choked’ him and subsequently ‘chased and tackled’ him prior to his arrest.”

The facts were closer to the opposite. Two others who came in with the student had actually joined him in attacking the employee. When the student, Jonathan Aladin, subsequently recanted his story, all three were charged with misdemeanor assault.

By Daily Caller News Foundation June 13, 2019

The Justice Department plans to interview two senior CIA officers as part of a sweeping review of surveillance activities against the Trump campaign, The New York Times reported.

Sources briefed on the plans told The Times that U.S. Attorney John Durham, who is leading the DOJ review, wants to speak with a senior CIA counterintelligence official and a senior CIA analyst who handled intelligence about Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.

Attorney General William Barr is interested in finding out more about the sources the CIA relied on to assess Russia’s goals in interfering in the election, according to The Times. He also wants to know about intelligence the CIA provided the FBI in summer 2016, including about Americans associated with the Trump campaign. With the Democrats desperately trying to rewrite voting laws to include felons and illegal aliens, I thought it was time someone from our side got a little more rational.

As much as these ideas may be unfair, unconstitutional and simply over-the-top, I feel that they are far less ridiculous than letting inmates and non-Americans vote in our elections.

American Citizens should get an extra vote (because seniority has its privileges) to balance out the illegal votes from non-citizens

The predictions about how unauthorized immigrants will vote stem from the fact that among all Latino immigrants who are eligible to vote (i.e. are U.S. citizens) many more identify as Democrats than as Republicans—54% versus 11%. And in the 2012 presidential election, according to the National Election Pool, Latino voters favored Democrat Barack Obama over Republican Mitt Romney by 71%-27%. While Democratic candidates have garnered a greater share of the Hispanic vote than Republican candidates in every election over the past three decades, the gap has been narrower in some elections than others. For example, in the 2004 election the gap among Hispanic votes between John Kerry and George W. Bush was only 18 percentage points (58% vs. 40%), compared with the 44 percentage point gap in the 2012 election. -Source: PEW RESEARCH

They are shifiting their votes to the Repubs and the Dems are worried about losing their power.

Based in Mississauga, Ont., the group is to receive $25,787 from Employment and Social Development Canada to create five summer jobs, a department spokesperson said.

ISNA-Canada is one of only two Canadian non-profit groups currently serving suspensions, meaning it cannot issue tax receipts to donors.

During Question Period on Thursday, Employment Minister Patricia Hajdu said the government condemned violent extremism and would review the grant.

“I’ve asked the department to look into, review this matter to ensure that the organization is in compliance with the terms and conditions of the program,” she said.

“If it’s found that the organization is not, then they will not receive reimbursement for that student.”

She was responding to a question from the Conservative critic for the program, John Barlow, who said 1,500 community groups had been denied summer jobs funding and asked whether the prime minister would revoke the grant.

“Under your ministry, summer camps for children and faith-based charities have been deprived of summer job funding for not passing your government’s ‘values test,’” Barlow wrote in a subsequent letter to the minister.

“Meanwhile, a suspended organization with possible links to terrorism has received a substantial federal grant.”

The CRA sanctioned ISNA-Canada following an audit that alleged it had “failed to conduct any meaningful due diligence” when money was transferred to Kashmir, where Hizbul Mujahideen militants have been fighting Indian troops.

The auditors wrote that ISNA-Canada “may have, knowingly or unknowingly, provided the benefits of its status as a registered charity to support the efforts of a political party and its armed wing.”

“It is the CRA’s view that the society’s resources may have, directly or indirectly, been used to support the political efforts of Jamaat-e-Islami and/or its armed wing Hizbul Mujahideen,” according to CRA documents.

Hizbul Mujahideen is a listed terrorist group in India and the European Union, the CRA added.

“ISNA-Canada is grateful to have been a recipient of this grant,” the group said in a statement Thursday.

“ISNA-Canada abhors and rejects terrorism in all its forms, and categorically denies any terrorist links. We remain politically impartial and are not linked to any political or extremist group.”

The statement said the CRA audit had dealt with activities a decade ago and that since then it had transformed into “a new organization.”

“The main reason for CRA’s decision is the fact that ISNA had issued tax receipts on behalf of other organizations and used its donations for non-charitable purposes,” it said.

According to CRA documents, ISNA-Canada no longer operates overseas and has improved its governing structure and removed the official allegedly responsible for transferring the money.

The summer jobs program, which funds employment for 15-to-30-year-olds, became controversial when the Liberal government imposed a so-called “valued test” aimed at excluding employers that opposed abortion.

But the department responsible for the program said national security and charitable status fell outside its mandate.

The government began receiving applications for 2019 job grants on Dec. 17, 2018 — three months after ISNA-Canada was suspended. The program provides funding for jobs up until Sept. 1, 2019. The ISNA-Canada suspension does not expire until Sept. 11, 2019.

A department spokesperson said ISNA-Canada had also received job funding last summer and “on-site monitoring” was conducted in July 2018.

“During this monitoring, the department did not find any instances of breaches of the provisions in the agreement, nor cause for revocation of funding for this organization,” Christopher Simard said.

“This season, the department will conduct on-site monitoring of the project with the Islamic Society of North America-Canada to ensure that CSJ funding is used according to the terms and conditions.”

Pakistan is a “particularly elevated risk for terrorist financing activity,” according to the 2018 report of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada.

  29. British aid worker faces PRISON for violent brawl with Calais police over migrant camp (express, Jun 14, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1140656/france-news-migrant-camp-calais-aid-worker-prison

“FRENCH prosecutors on Thursday demanded a four-month suspended sentence for a 30-year-old British aid worker accused of assaulting a police officer in the northern border town of Calais.

The news comes after Amnesty International accused French police of harassing and intimidating people offering aid to migrants in Calais in a bid to hamper their relief efforts. Tom Ciotkowski, a charity worker from Stratford upon Avon, is facing contempt and assault charges for allegedly coming to blows with Laurent Mary, a 52-year-old French riot police officer, during a migrant camp clearance operation in July 2018. The police officer denounced Mr Ciotkowski’s “vehement” behaviour towards him and his colleagues, adding the youth had “pushed him” and called him a “b*tch-b****rd” after he asked to see his ID. Mr Mary says he pushed the activist back in self-defence, and that Mr Ciotkowski fell backwards over a concrete barrier separating the pavement from the road, dragging another policeman down with him.

Mr Ciotkowski was then arrested and held in police custody for 36 hours, according to rights group Amnesty International.

The British youth has rejected this account and filed a rival complaint against the Calais police officers for assault and slander. He recorded the encounter, which was used as evidence during Wednesday’s trial.

He says the men were ID-checking volunteers trying to hand out food to migrants, at which point Mr Mary approached him and another volunteer, whom he reportedly hit with a baton.

His sentence will be delivered next week, on June 20. The charges against him carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of up to €7,500 (£6,500)…”

  30. AWFUL: US Women’s Soccer Star and Outspoken Lib Megan Rapinoe Says Her Kneeling During Anthem Is a “F*ck You” to Trump

Radical leftist Megan Rapinoe started kneeling during the national anthem back in 2016. She said it was a protest against white supremacy and in support of black lives matter movement. She later said it was a protest against the treatment of gays in the US.

    (She should try Iran!)
But today she says her protesting during the anthem is her f*** you to Trump and all of his racism.

Megan Rapinoe is a captain of the US women’s soccer team.

  31. It’s Suddenly Hip on the Left to Abuse White Kids: Rapper Vic Mensa Puts White Kids in Cages Drinking Toilet Water in New Video

Rapper Vic Mensa released his latest video on Friday for his latest political anthem, “Camp America.”
In the video white kids are kept in cages and forced to drink toilet water.
This is supposed to represent ICE detention centers under President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.
The practice of detaining illegal aliens in cages was used during the Obama years.

    Vic Mensa is no mensa.

  32. Trump Tightens Stranglehold on Castro’s Financial Throat
    Scraps Obama’s failed Cuba policy.
    June 14, 2019

“If Cuban troops and militia do not immediately cease military and other operations for the purpose of causing death and destruction to the constitution of Venezuela, a full and complete embargo, together with highest-level sanctions, will be placed on the island of Cuba,” ( Pres. Trump April 30, 2019.)

“Trump administration bans cruises to Cuba in clampdown on U.S. travel-– The Trump administration on Tuesday imposed heavy new restrictions on travel to Cuba by U.S. citizens, including a ban on cruises, in a bid to further pressure the Communist island.” (Reuters, June 4, 2019.)

As often documented hereabouts, Castro’s military and secret police (the only people in Cuba with guns, in case some have forgotten) majority- own everything related to Cuba’s tourism industry, which is the Castro-Crime-Syndicate’s 2nd largest source of income, slightly behind what they extort and otherwise squeeze out of their miserable Venezuelan colony in stolen oil and drug-smuggling proceeds.

Any more questions about why the Trump team decided to attend to this travel matter? (i.e. to once again make good on a threat to a foreign adversary?)

But wasn’t Obama’s Cuba policy of forgiving The Castro-Crime-Syndicate’s mass theft of U.S. property, its torture and murder of U.S. citizens, its blatant terror-sponsorship and drug-smuggling while showering it with $billions of U.S. dollars–wasn’t this shrewd policy guaranteed to turn Cuba into a Spanish-speaking Switzerland? • This not only hurts Cuba it hurts Russia because they will have to replace all the money we don’t spend in China.
