Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. The incident happened in Rolling Oaks Estates in Hudson in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 25. The accused intruder, 25-year-old Devin Cooke, lives nearby, according to a PCSO incident report.

Surveillance video shows an armed neighbor trying to help before deputies arrived at the scene.

Neighbors say that’s when deputies went back to the house and for the first time, they took official witness statements and pictures of the scene. According to an incident report, that occurred on Wednesday, May 29.

A PCSO spokesperson tells 8 On Your Side Cooke will face a felony burglary charge once he is released from a medical facility. The 25-year-old was taken in for a mental health evaluation, as per a prior court order.

In total, three 911 calls were made to dispatch during the incident.

The first 911 call was made at 12:41 in the morning.

“I tell them somebody just came into my door,?????” said Richards. “He’s unfamiliar, I don’t recognize him.”

While waiting for help, Richards was staring out towards the garage. She said she noticed Milton, her pet pig, starting to act up.

“His nose immediately goes to the ground, he picks up a scent,” said Richards. “Which means the man has either been in my garage or is in my garage.”

Fearing the man was about to break into her home through the garage, Richards did something risky.

“You’re in the doorway, and he’s standing right there?” asked 8 On Your Side investigative reporter Mahsa Saeidi.

“Yes, he is about 8 feet from me approximately,” said Richards.

That’s when Richards says she noticed the garage door that’s always open had been shut. She screamed, opened the garage door and called 911 again for a second time.

The second call was made at 12:54 in the morning.

  2. Vlad’s cousin:

“After the brutal murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby in Woolwich it seemed important to try to learn something about the religion in whose name the killers claimed to be acting, and our response to it. These articles and other items chart what I have learned since then, leading me to three main conclusions.

Firstly, that Islam is inherently and implacably supremacist even though many Muslims may not be.

Secondly, that our leaders are quite wrong to tell us after each atrocity that “it has nothing to do with Islam”. These attacks have a great deal to do with Islam, finding ample justification in both the Koran and in the actions of Mohammed. The politicians attempt to separate Islam (good) from Islamism (bad) but I contend that they are not separable, rather that the one produces the other as naturally as a fire produces a flame.

Thirdly, describing jihadi attacks as “extremist” is misleading. They are extreme in their violence, to be sure, but in religious terms they could be better described as “centrist” since the more violently and cruelly believers seek to advance the cause of Islam the closer they are to its centre, the example of Mohammed.

I welcome honest debate. In fact nothing would please me more than to be dissuaded of these pessimistic views, but I have tried my best to justify them with facts and reasoned argument. Name calling and mere assertions are not welcome.”

  3. Austria: Pensioner killed by a Turk with Jackie Chan kick in the stomach+++
An unbelievable excess of violence because of a bagatelle cost a Viennese his life: Pensioner Nikolaus D. (67 years old) was walking with his wife to the Protestant cemetery in Favoriten in November 2018, when a Turkish family was waiting for a taxi on Sonnleithner street and blocked the sidewalk.Nikolaus D. unintentionally touched the coat of a woman who turned around and began to scream. The couple did not react to the insults and went on for the time being. But then two young men – Ömer P. and Mehmet P. – followed the couple, harassed and insulted them. Nikolaus D. wanted to sidestep – but even the passive behaviour did not help him in the end. While one of the provocateurs, Mehmet P., was held back by a woman, his friend Ömer P. took a running jump and gave the Viennese a massive kick in the stomach. Nikolaus D. fell so unhappily with the back of his head onto the sidewalk that he suffered a fracture of the base of his skull. Despite immediate emergency surgery in the hospital, he never woke from his coma again and died after 26 days of constant agony. Yesterday the perpetrators of this terrible tragedy had to answer to the court in Vienna. The two young men (19, 26 years old) came with prominent defenders: Rudolf Mayer, Astrid Wagner and Normann Hofstätter tried as hard as they could to get a mild verdict. But Ömer P. again disturbed with his statement:”I didn’t really want that – but my aunt was there, I had to be a bit of a bully. I’m sorry,” he complained. Where he had learned the ultimately deadly kick? “In a Jackie Chan movie.” The ( not final ) sentences: eight years imprisonment for deliberately grievous bodily harm to the Jackie Chan fan. His friend was sentenced to five months on probation for brawl.

  4. Let’s erase a silly line. It is drawn on the map of North America, dividing the continent into northern and southern halves at the 49th parallel. Let’s erase it because of the garden party I went to yesterday.

It was in Quebec and I was obliged to attend. The weather was lovely, finally. The guests mangled–er–mingled in the back yard. I didn’t ask if the Lebanese caterer was halal because I figured I’d figure it out. I did and they were Christian Lebs. Now, as the steel in my aging spine hardens to give fewer cares about the “neuro-typicals” (as my son says) in my midst, I avoid halal as some avoid pork. Actually, I’ve been this way for a few years now. Contibuting to the MB just seems like such a Dystopian thing to do.

I spent most of my time at the front of the house playing with my kids, because I had nothing much to say to all the strangers in the back. At one point, while watching my daughter climb a tree, three of the other guests were also hanging out here in the driveway, keeping company with a man enjoying a smoke. I just listened.

“…it’s like the Trumpers all get their information from one source. –All standard answers with no thought behind them…” a young woman said.
“Yes,” echoed the smoker in a thicker Quebecois accent, “it doesn’t matter what you say, they will disagree…and in the end there is nothing to back it up…”

It went on like this for five or ten minutes in a repeating loop. They stood not more than ten feet from me. They gave not the slightest consideration to the possibility that someone in their midst would have an alternative viewpoint. How many times have I listened in silence to the smug presumptions of progressives? And it’s always the same. Lefties always presume to occupy morality’s highest ground while not noticing the mountain looming behind them. I guess sanctimony turns people into human projectors, blinded by their own blazing light.

Opinions Without Borders is the norm in the Trumpian world. But the most salient fact of all is that Trump is not the aggressor in his role of President. He is only (some only) the Man who came at the Time in reaction to the world created before him. Yes, his reactions must be profoundly agressive to get results, but imagine the profound stupidity of progressives who refuse to see what their normalcy bias hides from them? I’m tired of finding other words for it, so there you have it. Why make excuses for people.

Frankly, the circumstances didn’t warrent my reacting. Gotta pick your battles. But it illustrates more incivility of the Left. Branding as the aggressor he who is defending himself is a perversion of justice and truth. This is what is done, repeatedly, and is what would have happened to me. Look at that Project Veritas below. It took a brilliant lawyer, a clear-thinking judge, and a smart defendant to merely defend against an attack that should not have occured. Yet it did and required substantial energy to repel.

I wonder how long the 49th parallel will hold up? Do these people really believe that the masses coming from third-world countries will politely avoid their neighborhoods? And the diseases they bring with them? That little line on the map doesn’t mean much if you don’t respect it. You see how PT is dealing with sanctuary cities in the U.S.? What if he decides to let sanctuary country Dystopia choke on its Dear Leader’s rhetoric, and shuttle the masses trespassing his southern border up to his northern border? Now that would keep the RCMP bellhops hopping! What will the garden party talk sound like then?

Opinions Without Borders will learn it’s a two-way street.

    • Johnny I don’t know how long the border will hold, I know they have broken our southern border (Trump and others are working hard to rebuild it) the more that come to the US the more pressure for some of them to move North of the 49th.

Given what is happening in the California Cities we both know what is coming to all of North America, massive chaos with the potential of several plagues turning into pandemics. I don’t see any way out of a massive civil war in both nations. What is coming is an Old Mans War and A Young Mans Fight, this is what all wars of survival are.

      • … A Young Man’s Fight: I agree. If there are enough REAL MEN left, we stand a chance. We need guns.

        • If there are enough REAL MEN left, we stand a chance. We need guns.

          Dear Sassy,

America certainly has lots of them, and there’s more than a few in other places abroad. All that any of these blokes need is for the lid on law enforcement’s judicial pressure-cooker to get loosened up a wee bit.

Disgustingly, politicians of every stripe (only Trump is hesitantly excluded from that otherwise unanimous blanket statement) have no compunction about seeing inner-city cops minced up by unhinged sociopaths and meat grinder gangs just so long as they still fart through silk get reelected.

With equal (if not greater) revulsion, I predict that it will require one, if not several, Knoxville Horror shows—search = knoxville+horror – adding “agonizing slow and drawn out gang+raping+torture+immolation+snuffing of homecoming high school sweethearts”. Okay, I faked the “homecoming” part but not the following: (WARNING NSFW GRAPHIC DESCRIPTION:)

All four, including, Miss Coleman, then engaged in an orgy of rape and violence. They anally gang-raped Mr. Newsom, and orally, anally, and vaginally gang-raped Channon Christian. They brutally beat both victims and poured cleaning fluid down Miss Christian’s throat. They killed Mr. Newsom, leaving him with “multiple gunshot wounds,” and set his corpse on fire.

IN ALL SINCERITY: Perish the thought that any such thing EVER should happen to children or families of LEOs.

Sickening as such a prospect might be, THIS EXACT THING WILL HAPPEN TO LEOs by one of two avenues:

1.) Rampaging criminal or warlord marauders—and the local or regional gang posses that make non-aggression pacts with them—will begin capping all but the highest ranking, most well-protected (or best “insured”) Bad Cops™.

2.) As I’ve mentioned before, if condition #1 manifests, it irreversibly guarantees cops being out-bowled in a 100 mph (~28 meters per second) Starc-ish upset that will see the same number, if not terribly many more on the police bench, being done in by enraged vigilantes.

BEIJING – Websites of The Washington Post and the Guardian appear to now be blocked in China as the country’s government further tightens its so-called “Great Firewall” censorship apparatus as it navigates a politically sensitive period.

Until this weekend, The Post and the Guardian were among the last few major English-language outlets that were still regularly accessible from mainland China without the use of virtual private networking (VPN) software, according to the censorship tracker greatfire.org.

  7. Harrowing pictures of emaciated former oil workers in Venezuela capture their plight more than a week after they went on hunger strike over lost wages

Workers who were once the backbone of the Venezuelan economy continue to waste away in Caracas as they move into the second week of a hunger strike.

Forty ex-oil workers took to the Plaza de la Moneda square, adjacent to Venezuela’s central bank, eight days ago in a bid to claim what they say are unpaid wages.

In 2007, 8,500 direct or indirect workers of American oil company Exxonmobil were sacked after late president Hugo Chavez nationalised a project in the country’s Orinoco Oil Belt.

  8. US embassies still hoisting rainbow flags, despite advisory from Washington

Carol Morello, The Washington Post Published 4:45 pm EDT, Saturday, June 8, 2019

Since the State Department began rejecting all embassy requests to hoist rainbow flags outside the mission buildings during Gay Pride Month this year, some U.S. diplomats have been finding ways to defy, or at least get around, the new policy.

The facades of the U.S. missions in Seoul and Chennai, India, are partially hidden behind large rainbow flags, while the embassy in New Delhi is aglow in rainbow colored lights. The website for the embassy in Santiago, Chile, shows a video of the chief diplomat raising a rainbow flag last month for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexico avoided the most extreme immigration concession sought by U.S. President Donald Trump in the deal reached to fend off threatened tariffs, but it is left even weaker than before in the face of potential new pressure from Trump as he formally kicks off his reelection campaign this month.

Under the deal reached on Friday, Mexico agreed to use a large part of its newly formed National Guard to hold back immigrants crossing from Guatemala, and to take in possibly tens of thousands of people seeking asylum in the United States while their cases are adjudicated.

  10. Iran urges Europe to normalize economic ties with it or face consequences

LONDON (Reuters) – Iran said on Sunday Europe was in no position to criticize Tehran for its military capabilities and it called on European leaders to normalize trade ties with the Islamic Republic despite U.S. sanctions, or face consequences.

President Donald Trump last year withdrew the United States from world powers’ 2015 nuclear deal with Iran and reimposed sweeping sanctions. Trump condemned the accord, signed by his predecessor Barack Obama, as flawed for not being permanent and for not covering Iran’s ballistic missile program or its role in conflicts around the Middle East.

The west European signatories to the deal – France, Britain and Germany – share the same concerns as the United States over Iran’s ballistic missile development and regional activities.

How Italy’s migrant model town Riace veered far-right

Riace (Italy) (AFP) – The sign reading “Riace, land of welcome” still hangs in the small town, but its dream of migrant integration is over after the far-right’s “Italians first” election victory.

The new mayor of the one-time “global village” in southern Italy’s rural Calabria elected on May 26 with the support of Matteo Salvini’s anti-migrant Lega party, Antonio Trifoli, has so far left the sign up.

“We will welcome refugees again,” he told AFP.

“But we can’t have 500 to 600 asylum seekers in a town with 1,500 residents,” said the former town policeman.

Trifoli was first on the independent “Riace reborn” list, backed by the Lega, whose supporters provided many of the 41.8 percent of the 1,103 votes he won.

Until just a few years ago, the Lega was a separatist party at the other end of the country which sneeringly referred to southerners as “bumpkins” or worse.

“Terrorists linked to Iran were caught stockpiling tonnes of explosive materials on the outskirts of London in a secret British bomb factory, The Daily Telegraph can reveal

The discovery was shocking. Thousands upon thousands of small packages gathered together, each one containing ammonium nitrate – a common component in homemade bombs.

To innocent eyes, the disposable ice packs looked innocuous enough. By folding one, the water pouch inside would burst and mix with the contents, rapidly turning cold.

But in this case the purpose was sinister. By cutting them open, pure ammonium nitrate could be extracted. Mixed with other components and it became fatally explosive.

  13. Iran FM Scolds Europe: You Are in ‘No Position’ to Criticise Us (breitbart, Jun 9, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/middle-east/2019/06/09/iran-fm-scolds-europe-you-are-in-no-position-to-criticise-us/

“European Union (E.U.) countries are in “no position” to criticise Iran, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Sunday ahead of a visit from his German counterpart Heiko Maas. He added it was instead the E.U.’s “duty” to help fund his country’s survival, or face consequences.

Germany’s top diplomat is due in Tehran on Monday, as Iranian pressure increases for Europe to uphold commitments made under a 2015 nuclear deal since abandoned by the United States and send money to the Islamic republic.

“Europeans are certainly in no position to criticise Iran, even about issues that have nothing to do with” the agreement, Zarif said in televised remarks to journalists.

“The Europeans … should normalize economic ties with Iran…We will halt our commitments or will take action in accordance with their measures,” he concluded without further clarification.

In 2018, Iran twice told the E.U. it must do more to help deliver peace in the Middle East, saying it needs to back-up its standing commitments with actions and funding.

“What we need from the Europeans is both the political commitment, which they have made, now we need to see the measures in place on the ground, not simply in writing, not simply in words — in the banking sector, in the investment sector, in the energy sector, in the transportation sector, in the SME sector,” Dr. Zarif said.

It has also not gone unnoticed previously where funds can end up once they arrive in Iran, as the country is consistently accused of funding terror in the region:

Iran signed the landmark accord with China, Russia, Germany, Britain, France and the United States, leading to sanctions relief in exchange for Tehran curbing its nuclear programme.

But last year, U.S. President Donald Trump walked away from the JCPOA nuclear accord and Washington has since imposed sweeping sanctions on Iran.

European and Western policies “have only caused damage in the region,” Zarif lamented.

“Now some countries like Germany have stopped selling arms to Saudi Arabia for bombarding the people of Yemen, some other countries haven’t done so,” he added.

“In general, the West has allowed the autocratic regimes in our region to commit crimes.”

Zarif said that Europeans have “a duty” to ensure that Iran’s economic relations return to normal.

On Friday, Iran rejected an idea mooted by France to re-open nuclear talks, warning that seeking to broaden the existing agreement could lead to its collapse”

  14. And the biggest attack on England that snake in the grass Theresa May did against England is settling this battered – nearly already past it – country with a MUSLIM PM.

    • PS: What a choice English Jews will have between a Muslim and Corbyn. Mind you: “first they come for the Saturday children, then for the Sunday children…..”

    • Oh and wouldn’t you know it, he was racially traumatised by being called a PAKI.

      • Why are Pakis the only people you cannot use an abbreviation with? You ever hear people from Great Britain shriek about being called “Brits”?

  15. A little perspective on Michael Flynn’s ‘Lock her up!’ chant
    By J.E. Dyer June 9, 2019

Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, retired Army intelligence officer and former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, has come in for plenty of criticism over joining the crowd at the Republican Convention in 2016 in chanting “Lock her up!”

Flynn and the crowd were referring, of course, to Hillary Clinton. His critics thought that was over the top. Inappropriate. Unbecoming.

The more we find out about the way Clinton was hemorrhaging national security information, however, the less inclined I am to think Michael Flynn had any need to modify his behavior.

She wasn’t just leaving information for the taking on her homebrew server. She and her political aides — even potentially her State Department — were arguably mishandling national security in some of the most basic ways. Two recent bits of information illustrate these points.

The above is the url to the Hillary documents, you can download them in PDF format. I am going to download them and save them in several different locations, if the Dems win next year these will disappear down the memory hole.

Read the entire article, a humongous can of worms has been opened and right now the data can be read several ways. All of these ways says Hillary was a careless idiot or a cunning traitor depending or some combination of both depending on which way you want to look at the data. This information is part of what the Brennan (Obama?) coup was designed to cover up.

No matter how you want to look at the data and think of Hillary the big unanswered questions are how much did she know and when did she know it? How much did Obama know and when did he know it? This massive data dump (each of the 33 parts is 300 to 400+ pages) is scaring the Dems and why they are talkng about impeachment so much.

No matter which analysis of the data is correct a lot of high ranking Dems and Deep State people are going down. The closer we get to discovering the truth the more violent the left is going to become watch your backs because while the main scandal is centered in DC there is evidence that British intel helped, that Italian intel helped, that some people in Ukraine and possibly maybe probably Russia helped. This scandal is going to get a lot worse and the left a lot more violent. There is a high probability that the soft coup will turn into a hard violent coup and we have to remember that the leader of Rolling Thunder (vet bikers for Trump) has said that if the Dems impeach President Trump Rolling Thunder will ROLL ON DC Since he is a retired Marine Sergent Major we need to put a military meaning to Roll On.

The way he politely made a dog’s breakfast out of that seditious Muslima BBC whore allows drawing only one of two conclusions:

1.) She is dumber than a box of rocks.

2.) She is a terrorist jihadi.

There is no middle ground between these options (although a preponderance of evidence indicates “both” to be a permissible answer), nor any third position that mitigates preexisting and sufficiently actionable torts which justify her instant trial and execution for treason.

  17. Last week, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate flew to Europe. While there she did not meet French President Emmanuel Macron or German Chancellor Angela Merkel, but rather Hungary’s divisive, right-wing populist leader, Viktor Orban, who is notorious for his anti-immigrant rhetoric. [Gasp! No visit to Merkel and Macron!—ed]

The meeting, which was a harmonious affair, represents a major affront to the West, which is nevertheless at pains to maintain some sort of diplomatic relationship with Myanmar. Two years ago, the West was appalled at the Myanmar military’s ethnic cleansing campaign against the country’s Muslim Rohingya minority.

During her meeting with Orban, Suu Kyi made it abundantly clear that she cares very little about Western values and diplomatic niceties. Afterward, Suu Kyi and Orban issued a joint Islamophobic statement in which they said that immigration, and both countries’ growing Muslim populations, posed a serious challenge.

  18. Liberals cry censorship after YouTube demonetizing frenzy hits SPLC content
By Daily Caller News Foundation June 8, 2019

Liberal activists are crying foul after YouTube’s demonetizing frenzy slammed the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization known for labeling conservative groups as hate groups.

A video SPLC published was among those nixed after YouTube announced plans Wednesday to remove videos and content that promote white supremacy. Journalist Max Blumenthal lashed out at the company after the video, which reports on Holocaust denialism, was pulled for violating the new policy.

“In @YouTube’s political purge, my video report for the @splcenter exposing Holocaust revisionist David Irving as a fascist and fraud historian was removed. This purge has already gone well beyond its stated aim. It is carpet bombing style censorship,” Blumenthal wrote on Twitter Friday.

Why Islam is Not a Religion
    by Rebecca Bynum (Nov. 2011)
Speech delivered October 18th to ACT! for America Chapter in Memphis Tennessee

Good Evening. I’m here to talk about a subject no one wants to discuss – religion. Many people in our post-Christian society (especially journalists) are afraid of it, misinformed about it and ignorant of the most basic theological concepts. And our theologians are often too specialized in their work to be able to discuss religion in its broadest outlines or our Churchmen are often soo concerned with finding common ground that they gloss over and ignore the theology of Islam.

Our greatest Islam critics confine their attack to the non-religious aspects of Islam, either its political side or its judicial side. But when we discuss political Islam or Sharia law alone, we imply that there is a religious Islam that is perfectly fine, that we don’t have to worry about. And we leave the major problems of Islamization – Muslim immigration, mosque building, the proselytizing in our prisons and military and the infiltration of our governmental institutions completely untouched and indeed untouchable.

So I think we need to take a few steps back to examine Islam as a whole and to broadly define the outlines of Islam – what it is and what it isn’t.

One thing we can definitely say about Islam is that is it not solely confined to a belief system. If it is a religion it is not a religion only. Islam is a total system of life and contains within itself a particular social system, judicial system, and political system which includes geo-political aspirations – the conquest and administration of territory.

I often liken Islam to a duck-billed platypus which superficially resembles an otter. Upon closer examination, one finds this animal has a duck-like bill, lays eggs, and has many other characteristics which are not otter-like. So it cannot therefore remain in the biological category containing otters. It is simply too different and has to have its own category. I believe the same thing is true of Islam. It is much too different from the other religions to remain in the religion category, it should be uniquely classified in its own category.

Secondly, I think it is obvious to Christians that Islam is its polar opposite and I believe nihilism lies between Christianity and Islam and that the morality of Islam is inverted.

Let me explain: religion supplies our basic world-view concerning the nature of reality. If we were to plot belief systems on a graph – on one side are religions which view God as good and the universe as a benevolent place – in the middle we have the view that there is no God and the universe is a pitiless and indifferent place, the view of material determinism which is the direction toward which our society is tending. On the other side of the view of God as malevolent and the universe is a vicious and unpredictable place – that God enjoys our suffering. This is where Islam lies.

The reason we can assert that the morality of Islam is inverted is that Islam consistently elevates material over spiritual considerations. That is, it elevates the material obedience to the dictates of the Islamic doctrine above all consideration of Truth or Goodness. Morality, conformity and even legality are all one and the same in Islam. Let me give you an example: The following are the words of the father of a failed female suicide bomber:

“’If I had known what [my daughter] was planning I would have told the Jews. I would have stopped her.”

“In our religion it is forbidden for a girl’s body to be uncovered even at home. How could a girl allow her body to be smashed to pieces and then collected up by Jews? This is absolutely forbidden.”

Though this is an extreme circumstance, we see this pattern play out over and over again. Women are treated as if they were property because that is how they are defined by Islam.

For example, if a young girl runs away from home to marry her true love, she has in effect stolen the property that is herself from her family and the family will often try to kill her to negate the theft and to assuage the shame and humiliation suffered by the family for not to being in full control of their daughter’s body as is required by Islam. In this way, Islam is utterly materialistic – control of the body is everything. And the Muslim mind is focused fully on the material world.

I further contend that Islam has become a substitute God for Muslims. Worship is defined as obedience to Islam and Islam represents the entire will of God for all men through all time. God’s will is also every single thing that happens. So even if one disobeys Islam, it is still God’s will that he did so.

If there is no difference between man’s will and God’s will, there is no God to seek. In Islam God is unknowable – he is completely transcendent and his will is all things. Theologically this is the equivalent to saying there is no God.

Furthermore, when a religion becomes completely reduced to a doctrine and only a doctrine, it is no longer a living faith. It is dead. Islam may be complex and it maybe logical, but it is logic in the absence of living truth.

Religion in its broadest sense must be about the pursuit of higher value – of Truth Beauty and Goodness. As we learned in philosophy class, the thinking used to be that these values stand apart from the world and evaluate the world. Truth is the measure of man, man is not the measure of truth. That is the essence of religious thought. And the interesting thing is that when we pursue value, as all true religions encourage, we incorporate those values into our selves – as we pursue goodness, we become good, as we pursue truth we reflect truth in ourselves and we appreciate the beauty of God’s creation more and more – this is commonly called spiritual growth. All religion as we have known it facilitates this process – its goal is to lead men to God and lead them to experience God’s love.

Islam on the other hand, subordinates everything to itself. Islam is the highest value and the spiritual values we just mentioned are thought to be entirely contained within Islam, even to be entirely contained within the Koran. Which is why after a rumor about Korans being flushed down the toilet at Guantanamo was started by Newsweek in May 2005, scores were killed and hundreds injured in rioting all over the Muslim world. Lives were sacrificed over paper and ink. We saw the same pattern play out with the Muhammad cartoons over a supposed religious principle which concerns only the material world.

  21. Hong Kong plunged into political crisis after huge protest against extradition law

    7 MIN READ

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Hong Kong was plunged into a fresh political crisis on Sunday night after hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to thwart a proposed extradition law that would allow suspects to be sent to mainland China to face trial.

After seven hours of marching, organizers estimated 1,030,000 people took part, far outstripping a demonstration in 2003 when half that number hit the streets to successfully challenge government plans for tighter national security laws.

A police spokesman said police estimated 240,000 were on the march “at its peak”.

Sunday’s outpouring was already raising the pressure on the administration of Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and her official backers in Beijing.

“She has to withdraw the bill and resign,” veteran Democratic Party lawmaker James To told crowds gathering outside the city’s parliament and government headquarters in the Admiralty business district on Sunday night.

  22. the gateway pundit – Carter Page Says He Was a Source For the CIA For Decades Before He Became a Subject of Federal Investigation (VIDEO)

Former Trump 2016 campaign advisor Carter Page sat down for an exclusive interview on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo.

Carter Page says he was a source for many US government agencies including the CIA, FBI and State Department before they spun it around on him and made him the subject of surveillance and a federal investigation.

Carter Page also said he was helping the government for free.

“Oh, by the way, doing it for free,” Carter Page said slamming the FBI for making 11 payments to dossier author Christopher Steele during the 2016 election.

“I was asked various questions, not only by State, FBI, etc, but also CIA,” Carter Page said. “I had a long-standing relationship with the CIA going back decades essentially, and I was always very transparent and open.”

“Unfortunately, it was completely spun that as you’re correctly alluding to in this fake Mueller report, they just refer to this as oh, he’s, you know, colluding, if you will, with these Russian intelligence officers,” he said. “I mean, I’m acting as a source, completely helping our government.”

The FBI obtained FOUR FISA warrants on Carter Page even though he was a source for the FBI and CIA for DECADES.

According to the FISA docs, the FBI made it sound like Carter Page was a traitor who was working on behalf of the Russian government — when in fact he was working as a source for the US government.

The first FISA warrant on Page was granted in October of 2016 and the fourth and final FISA warrant on Page, which was signed by Rod Rosenstein and Andrew McCabe, was granted in June of 2017.

The FBI used the FISA court to spy on Carter Page for nearly a year yet he was never even charged with a crime. What evidence on Carter Page was the FBI presenting to the FISA judges?

Minister Poulsen’s statements follow newly released results from a study which found that Somali migrants were the largest single foreign community in Denmark to be convicted for violent offenses, with 916 convictions between 2014 and 2018 – making them 3.6 times more likely to commit violent crimes than Danish men of the same age and income, according to a report from the Danish newspaper B.T.

Following Somalis with the most violent criminal convictions were Iraqis and Turks.

Unlike many of their Western European counterparts, Danish politicians haven’t attempted to sugar-coat the problem.

  26. Mueller Gang and Deep State Suspected of Covering Up an FBI Flynn Related 302 – Pertinent to the General’s Case!

General Michael Flynn was an American hero who was set up by Obama’s Deep State before he even joined forces with the Trump campaign. It now looks like the Mueller gang is holding back providing a Form 302 dated the day before the 2017 Trump Inauguration that took place under former President Obama’s watch.

The judge overseeing the General Flynn case, Judge Emmet Sullivan, requested that the Mueller team provide all information related to the General Flynn case that the defendant is legally required to be provided. The first line of the Judge’s order stated –

The Pursuant to Brady v. Maryland , 373 U.S. 83 (1963), and its progeny, the government has a continuing obligation to produce all evidence required by the law and the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.

Mueller’s team was required to provide all this information to General Flynn in a timely manner but it now appears they didn’t provide it.

For example, Mueller ignored the court order by not providing the transcript of General Flynn’s call with the Russian Ambassador Kislyak, which was the reason Flynn was questioned in the White House within a week of the inauguration.

In Philadelphia, city councilman Kenyatta Johnson has pushed for the city to ban balconies and bay windows from new apartments and condos, saying that they are a “symbol of gentrification” that causes anxiety, as he criticizes the new housing developments being built in the city.

Johnson, who represents much of South Philadelphia, introduced a bill during City Council’s May 23 session that would ban balconies and bay windows across Point Breeze and Grays Ferry. The two architectural features would still be allowed outside of those two neighborhoods, but according to the bill, the distance from which they can project from a building would continue to be regulated.

Johnson’s legislation comes amid unprecedented change in his district, which stretches from the fast-gentrifying neighborhoods of Graduate Hospital and Point Breeze, to areas farther south and west, including the Navy Yard and Eastwick. Thousands of new rowhouses have been built, adding taller and showier structures to older and modest rowhouse blocks. The boxy, bump-out bay windows that Johnson aims to legislate have become a well-known architectural feature of Philadelphia’s construction boom, just as aluminum siding and roof decks have.

For some homeowners in the market for newly constructed homes, balconies and bump-out bay windows offer two things that a traditional rowhouse can’t: additional space and light.Other people see these architectural features as a defining symbol of gentrification — bringing with it anxieties about cost-of-living increases and displacement. And yet others worry that the features disrupt the appearance and character of older blocks.

Second GOP State Senator Discovered Shot To Death In 2 Days

Henry Rodgers | Capitol Hill Reporter

Oklahoma Republican state Sen. Jonathan Nichols was found dead Friday, making him the second GOP state senator to be shot to death in the last two days.

Police reportedly found Nichols, 53, dead by a gunshot wound in Norman, Oklahoma, Wednesday night. His death comes two days after police reportedly discovered former Arkansas Republican state Sen. Linda Collins-Smith dead from a gunshot wound and wrapped in some kind of blanket.

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office is working with police investigators to determine Nichols’ cause of death. Oklahoma Republican House Speaker Charles McCall released a statement after his death, state newspaper The Oklahoman reported.

“I am shocked and incredibly saddened to learn that Jonathan has passed away,” McCall said. “He was a valuable member of my staff and a friend. Jonathan was a very proud man, but he served humbly.”

  31. Elderly New Yorker Charged With Felony For Killing Two Home Invaders With “Inherited” Gun

Scenes from life in Governor Cuomo’s SAFE Act paradise: an upstate homeowner has been charged with a felony after he defended himself from two home invaders with what prosecutors are calling an “illegal gun.”

    The Truth About Guns reports,

“He told me that when they were coming up the stairs, that as they approached him, that he was scared to death and he thought they were going to kill him. One of the troopers said, ‘did you see anything in their hands?’ He said, ‘I didn’t look at their hands, I just saw them coming at me and I thought to myself, at that point, that it’s either them or me,’ and he just started firing,” (defense attorney Mark) Wolber said.

The homeowner, 64-year-old Ronald Stolarczyk, shot and killed Patricia Anne Talerico and her nephew, Nicholas Talerico. But Stolarczyk hasn’t been charged with a homicide. At least not yet. What has police concerned is the handgun Stolarczyk used.

…Stolarczyk is charged with felony gun possession because investigators believe he used his deceased father’s gun, which he never registered to himself, to kill the two suspected intruders.

So Stolarczyk’s father either gave or left the handgun in question to his son. Under New York’s famously restrictive gun control laws, the son wasn’t required to undergo a background check to receive the handgun from his father. But he did need to have a pistol permit to legally own the firearm and have it registered in his name.

Investigators are still, you know, investigating. And as the two home invaders apparently weren’t armed, it’s possible that the local prosecutor may still charge Stolarczyk with manslaughter or even murder in the case.

  32. “Europe Will Not Be Europe”

    by Guy Millière
    June 9, 2019 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/14353/europe-will-not-be-europe

On the evening of May 26, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini commented on the results of the European elections, “A new Europe is born.” The party he leads, the League, had just won with 34.3% of the vote. Other parties defined in Europe as “populist” also won: in Hungary, the Fidesz-KDNP alliance (Hungarian Civic Alliance and the Christian Democratic People’s Party) received 52.3% of the vote. In Poland, the PiS (Law and Justice) party won 45.4% of the vote. Sebastian Kurz’s Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP) won 34.6% of the vote and the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), his ally, was awarded 17.2%, despite a recent scandal that led to the resignation of Heinz-Christian Strache, chairma of the FPO, from his post as Vice-Chancellor of Austria (the Kurtz government fell on May 27). In the United Kingdom, the Brexit Party victory — at 31.6% of the vote — was a remarkable achievement that signaled the persistent willingness of millions of Britons to leave the European Union. There, the “populist” positions — the defense of national sovereignty and European civilization, refusal of uncontrolled immigration and diktats of Brussels technocrats — gained ground.

In many European countries, however, the results of the “populists” were mixed. In France, Marine Le Pen’s National Rally finished first, but with 23.3% of the vote: only 0.9% more than The Republic on the Move, created three years ago by Emmanuel Macron. The extreme unpopularity of the French President apparently did not cost him much. In Sweden, the Sweden Democrats received only 15.4%, or two percent less than in the 2018 Swedish general elections. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) received 11%. In Belgium, the Vlams Belang received 11.2% of the vote. In Spain, Vox, with 6.2%, had to deal with even more disappointing results. In the Netherlands, the Forum for Democracy got 10.9% and Geert Wilders’s Party for Freedom, which fell to 3.5%, no longer has a seat.

The “populist wave” often mentioned in recent weeks did not overwhelm Europe. “Populist” parties will have only a little more than twenty percent of the seats in the European Parliament: enough to be heard, but not enough to exert influence.

  33. Iran and the American Forbidden Fruit

    by Amir Taheri
    June 9, 2019 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/14352/iran-america-forbidden-fruit

“Why do they hate us?” This is a question frequently put to me by Americans when discussing the rabid anti-Americanism professed by the Khomeinist ruling clique in the Islamic Republic.

The puzzlement implied in the question is understandable. For the United States is the only major power to have a decades-long history of close friendly ties with Iran. From the first decades of the 19th century, Iran found itself caught in an “Imperialist” pincer with Tsarist Russia and Great Britain providing its two arms. The Russians invaded Iran three times and snatched large chunks of Iranian territory in Caucasus and Central Asia. The British carved off large chunks of Iranian territory to add to their Indian Empire or to expand the newly created Afghan state they protected.

For a while, Iran looked to France under Napoleon to counterbalance two enemies. Napoleon sent a military mission, led by General Gardanne, to help Iran create a modern army capable of fighting the Russians and the British. The French furnished Iran with modern artillery and created its first military academy. However, a defeated Napoleon betrayed Iran in the Treaty of Titlist, signed in 1815 with Russia, endorsing Russian annexation of Iranian territories.

In both the First and Second World Wars, the Russians and the British again invaded Iran, violating its loudly declared neutrality. In World War II, the Russians and the Brits pillaged Iranian food stocks to feed Stalin’s armies fighting Nazi Germany. The Russians paid nothing and the Brits gave Iranians IOUs that proved worthless. The Russians did even better by shipping all of Iran’s gold reserves to Moscow for “safe keeping”.

The Americans joined the war a year later and sent a mission to coordinate transit of materiel to the USSR. Instantly, they were seen as “different” from the Brits and Russians for two reasons. First, they paid cash for what they bought, including the use of the Trans-Iranian Railway.

  35. Rapist Whose Deportation Was Blocked by Airplane Passengers to Be Sent Back to Somalia (breitbart, Jun 9, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/06/09/somali-gang-rapist-finally-be-deported/

“A convicted Somali gang rapist who was supposed to be deported in October is to finally be removed from the UK.

Yaqub Ahmed, 30, was set to be deported to Somalia in October 2018, but after screaming and resisting on his commercial flight, other passengers protested and demanded he be taken off the plane.

Passengers on the flight were reported to have shouted: “He says they’re separating him from his family, his family’s here.” The passengers then chanted “take him off the plane”, with one yelling “you’re free man” as security officers finally gave up and led him from the flight.

This time, however, Ahmed is being held at a detention centre near a London airport and it is believed that the government is chartering a flight to take Ahmed back to Somalia to avoid a repeat of passenger involvement preventing the deportation, as revealed by The Mail on Sunday.

The source told the newspaper that the deportation is set to take place “in the not too distant future”.

Ahmed was one of four men who brutally gang-raped a 16-year-old girl who they lured back from a bar in 2007, telling her that her friend was at their flat. When inside, the group forced themselves on her, with one member even punching her in the face as she fought back. Thanks to neighbours overhearing her cries for help, police were called and the four men were arrested at the scene. Ahmed received just nine years in prison for his part in the attack.

After his failed repatriation, Ahmed faced a deportation hearing and was released in March on an electronic tag, despite the severity of the crime. It was reported at the time of his failed deportation that he had allegedly been granted refugee status after coming to the UK as a child and had links to an Islamic State fighter.

Upon learning about Ahmed’s deportation being held up, his victim said in April: “How could you defend a rapist? How could you intervene? He was in handcuffs, he was being taken out of the country… who are you people to interfere with justice?”

“You think that was a bad scream?” she asked. “Try hearing the screams that I made.”

Ahmed was not the first convicted criminal migrant to have his deportation held up by passengers. In a high-profile incident in Sweden, 21-year-old student Elin Ersson blocked an Afghan’s deportation flight after boarding the airplane bound for Turkey. It was later revealed that the migrant had been jailed for assault, with Ms Ersson fined £250 in February by a Swedish court for blocking the violent criminal migrant’s deportation.”
