    Specifically, AFRICA and The Turk + { Qatar + Iran + powerful non-state actors}.

    The only people paying attention are in the arms business plus a few out-of-the-loop military analysts. (Those in-the-loop could talk, but then they’d have to kill us.)

    Westerners tend to have tunnel vision with tardish enemies, see them almost exclusively in flavor of the Death Cult alignment. The Middle East doesn’t work like that. Alliances are a tangled mess of betrayals.

    Would you accept a ride home from the man you've been chatting with at your neighborhood interfaith Iftar?

    • We can get people like Dyrer to talk (at times) but we don’t have the encyclopedia of the players in that region. Even if we did it would be outdated by the time it was published, as you point out it is a cesspool of betrayal and back stabbing.

        The players themselves don’t know. Loyalties shift on a dime and responses are totally out of whack. The filthy Turk and his one-time best buddy, Gülen. Or MbS stomping poor, prissy little Canada.

        The Strong Horse takes a tumble, or gets assassinated, all bets are off. The underlying dynamics might be explained in retrospect, but predictions? Spooks may pick up a scent in the air, but it’s an insha’allah kinda world.

  5. Brad Johnson raised his game in this one. I’m glad you made it clear that O must come down, Eeyore. Letting the bastard skate isn’t an option. In order to restore the integrity of the country the PoMo history books must be rewritten for those who come after us, and this can only happen with relentless reckoning.
