Has Al Baghdadi been reduced to an internet troll?

The following video is a short excerpt of an 18 minute propaganda video made by the leader of the now defeated, Islamic State, Abu Bakr Al-baghdadi.

Im posting this in advance of the whole clip which is in translation now, because this segment shows such a stunning degree of projection and moral inversion that it is worth seeing as a stand alone clip.

When the Islamic State first formed, the atrocities committed by its citizens, sanctioned by Baghdadi and islamic scripture, were of a magnitude and frequency not fathomable by the average non-muslim. In fact part of the reason we don’t effectively resist islam is we simply cannot believe they really believe these things or would act on those beliefs if they did.

We here at this site made a special point of finding and keeping the Islamic State videos for the exact same reason one President of the United States ordered his military to record everything they saw when they liberated the Nazi death camps.

“Because”, he said, “any day now those bastards will deny it”.

I think we will see that in record time in this case.

But having seen more of those videos than I care to recall, the atrocities and acts of random barbarism, even non-random but creative barbarism, like lighting people on fire in cages etc. was beyond anything most of us can imagine, or would believe happens in modern times.

The temptation to restore some of those scenes in answer to Baghdadi’s ludicrous claims and preposterous moral-inversions are thwarted because chances are, not even bit.tube would allow them and there goes that account. We are prisoners of our own standards and might even be defeated by them.

  1. “…the reason we don’t effectively resist islam is we simply cannot believe they really believe these things or would act on those beliefs if they did.”

In the name of God genocide committed.
In the Marxist State disapearances admitted.
In the Homosexual Mind Identities refitted.
    Such horrors are unknown
And unbelieved until you’re in it.

  2. Some interesting points raised here.
Of course, al-Baghdadi plays the victim, we’ve heard that kind of rhetoric ad nasueam from Hamas, al-Qaeda etc. But I didn’t deny the rape, slavery, snuff movies etc, at least not in this fragment (the full translated version will make interesting viewing, thanks!). He probably thinks that’s justified by scripture, so in his mind he has the moral high ground by definition. In any case, it was part of al-Qaeda’s administration handbook, which is publicly available:

al-Qaedadecided on rule-by-fear in ’04 because the softly-softly approach failed in their nano-Caliphate in Yemen. Hence the daily public executions in Syria.
ISIS bragged about “reintroduction of slavery before the Final Hour” in Dabiq magazine. It’s consistent with scripture, if you don’t consider Yezidi to be people of the book. Al-Azhar published an open letter stating that they are, a matter of taste I guess.

    • I forgot to mention the tactic of “provoking military responses from superpowers in order to recruit and train guerilla fighters and to create martyrs”.
In al-Qaeda’s view, this worked against the USSR, so they’re doing it to the US coalition too. They hope to draw troops in, that’s why they burned that Jordanian pilot for example.
I think the strategy makes sense, the cost of the US’ war on terror has been estimated at 6 trillion $ (paper from a few years ago). ISIS actually made a profit, al-Qaeda too probably. And, given muslim demographics, they have an endless supply of fresh cannon fodder. They’ve demonstrated their ability to mobilize and recruit muslims all over the world, at its peak the IS had 50k members in its territory, 50k outside. Not all of them fighters, but a 100k-strong organisation is considerable and can’t be ignored. They haven’t been defeated by any means, Sri Lanka is clear proof of that.

      • islam produces cannon fodder.
        Communism produces cannon fodder.
        Their hatred of the child
That transfers to be the other.
