Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

    “POLICE have been called after reports of a fatal stabbing in Fulham, London.

    The Metropolitan Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 12:27am on Saturday to Gowan Avenue junction with Munster Road SW6, following reports of a fight. A 29-year-old male was found with fatal stab wounds. He was tended to by members of the public before police and the LAS arrived on the scene.

    He received further treatment from medical professionals when they arrived but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:56am.

    Officers are currently trying to contact his next of kin.

    The Homicide and Major Crime Command have been notified.

    A crime scene has been sectioned off and officers are working to establish what took place at the scene.

    There have been no arrests at this stage.

    The men, described as white and in their 20s, were filmed clinging to the bonnet of the black Ford Fiesta and trying to attack the victim inside as it sped down the road in front of frightened witnesses.

    A 27-year-old Asian man was hospitalised with head injuries following the violent assault at lunchtime on the busy street in Whitechapel, Met Police confirmed.

    Some witnesses claimed the attackers shouted Islamophobic abuse from a car before getting out and brandishing weapons near the Ashaadibi Centre mosque.

    But a spokesman for the force said initial witness accounts ‘didn’t indicate that this was a hate crime’.

    Police – who were called to the scene at 1.18pm today – said the victim is yet to give them a full account of the incident…”

      Yiannopoulos has lashed out at Australian officials, who denied him a visa for his comments on the New Zealand mosque shootings.

      A gunman killed 49 people with an automatic rifle at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand on Friday. In a manifesto published online before the shooting rampage, he called himself a “fascist” who wanted to repel an “invasion” of Muslims, who he said were gradually replacing white people with lower birth rates.

      The attacker emblazoned his weapon and ammo with writings of historic figures and people who fought against foreign “invaders” at some point, whether it be a medieval Balkan nobleman who led an uprising against the Ottoman Empire or an Italian neo-Nazi who shot African migrants.

      He also mentioned right-wing US commentator Candace Owens as the person who “influenced [him] above all”.

      Yiannopoulos, who once famously claimed that all Muslims should be deported to the Middle East, said that the Christchurch tragedy was inspired by the policies pursued by the powers that be.

      “Attacks like this happen because the establishment panders to and mollycoddles extremist leftism and barbaric, alien religious cultures,” the former Brietbart editor said.

      He also defended Owens, saying that she “had nothing to do with what happened in New Zealand” because people “aren’t radicalised by their own side” — implying that it was the left-wing that provoked the shooter.

      Yiannopoulos, who has a strong Australian following, was going to visit the country on a speaking tour, but has had his visa application rejected.

      In a letter to the public speaker, the Department of Home Affairs cited violent scenes during his 2017 Melbourne event, when protesters clashed outside the venue.

      “Victoria Police issued Mr Yiannopoulos with a bill of $50,000 for the cost of policing his event in Melbourne,” the department said, as quoted by the Guardian, adding that he has since not paid his security bill and may not be allowed into the country.

      Officials also indicated that Yiannopoulos may not meet the character requirements, which is part of the visa application.”

As a counter to the “it’s a crime to shed no tears over Christchurch” bandwagon, I wonder how many kufirs have been killed in the name of allah since the death of the 49 and really if any one then cares. I have no idea but I would not be surprised to see the figure bettered within a week or two. Nigeria is a good place in which to start the count but all of the EU will help fill up the number.

    Who and what do they blame?
    Who and what is moving it’s position and influence forward?

    At least five deaths have been recorded by health officials, with dozens of people thought to have come in contact with the virus.

    Health officials in Uganda have been praised for their swift response, and WHO is now working with them to tackle further developing cases.

    “A man who allegedly posted comments online about the Christchurch terrorist attack has been arrested after a police raid led to a haul of weapons in his home.

    Officers swarmed the man’s northern suburbs home on Friday, where they found a replica firearm, two flick knives, an expandable baton and a crossbow.

    The 37-year-old has been charged with possessing a Class H replica firearm, four counts of possessing a prohibited weapon and one count of possessing prescribed equipment, South Australia Police said.

    The man’s online comments come after Bryant Tarant, 28, allegedly stormed a mosque in Christchurch and opened fire on defenceless people attending prayers.

    Tarrant faced a New Zealand court on Saturday charged with murder a day after his rampage, which saw 49 people dead and more still fighting for life.

    The 37-year-old South Australia man has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.”

    “According to a new investigation, one in three returned Islamic State fighters in Sweden have committed serious crimes after coming back from the Middle East.

    The investigation, which looked into the activities of 41 Islamic State members who had returned from Syria and Iraq, found that all of those sentences or suspected of crimes, 13 people in total, were men, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

    The crimes that the men have been either suspected or of convicted of have included serious offences such as the case of a 31-year-old man who was filmed by his neighbours attacking another man with a pair of scissors last July and is now looking at attempted murder charges.

    Other offences include drug-related crimes, fraud, extortion, money laundering, abuse, and some have also found themselves in trouble due to owing taxes.

    Gabriel Wernstedt, press secretary at the Swedish Security Police (Säpo), would not comment on specific cases but said they were working together with other authorities.

    “The purpose is to protect Sweden and democracy. Within the framework of this mission, we follow a number of crime-active individuals within different extremist groups who have an intention and ability to commit crimes, which could, for example, be related to terrorist offences,” Wernstedt said.

    The investigation comes only weeks after it was claimed that Islamic State members living in the heavily-migrant populated city of Malmö had been operating underground mosques and attempting to recruit new extremists.

    “The situation here in Rosengård is really bad,” a local mother said.

    Around 150 Islamic State fighters have returned to Sweden from the Middle East, but many municipalities have admitted they have no idea where they are.

    In Gothenburg and Västra Götaland, for example, dozens of Islamic radicals are believed to have returned to the area, but the municipality only knew of ten adults and eight children who had returned.

    With many ISIS radicals still in the Middle East, many of them arrested by Kurdish or Iraqi forces, some have requested to return to Sweden.

    While other countries have stripped the citizenship of some ISIS members, Swedish prime minister Stefan Löfven ruled out the practice, saying that Swedish citizens could return but they would receive little in the way of consular support to do so.”

  31. Yellow vest ‘ultimatum’ rally turns violent in Paris

    Paris (AFP) – After weeks of declining participation, France’s “yellow vest” protest movement attempted to rebound on Saturday with a major rally in Paris which quickly turned violent.

    A large crowd gathered on the Champs-Elysees avenue for the 18th straight week of anti-government protests which initially rocked President Emmanuel Macron’s administration, forcing him to adopt more anti-poverty measures, but had appeared to fizzle in recent weeks.

    Police fired tear gas to disperse protesters who erected barricades near the Champs-Elysees in scenes reminiscent of some of the most tense “yellow vest” rallies.

    Saturday’s attempted reboot coincides with the end of two months of public debates called by Macron to take the heat out of the protests, which repeatedly ended in rioting in December and January.

    How pro-union is presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders? So much so that on Friday, he announced that his 2020 campaign staff was unionizing with his approval.

    The announcement came in a tweet, in which the self-declared socialist wrote:

    I’m proud that our campaign is the first presidential campaign to unionize. We cannot just support unions with words, we must back it up with actions. On this campaign and when we are in the White House, we are going make it easier for people to join unions, not harder.

    According to the HuffPost, the staffers decided to join United Food and Commercial Workers Local 400. As the name implies, the union primarily represents food and retail service workers, but it also represents employees of Solidarity Strategies, a far-left consulting firm headed by Chuck Rocha, who served as Sanders’s senior advisor on both his 2016 run for the Democratic nomination.

  34. Is Chief Justice John Roberts tacking left?

    Chief Justice John Roberts has made common cause with the Supreme Court’s liberal bloc as late, breaking with his conservative colleagues on cases relating to abortion, the death penalty, and President Donald Trump’s revised rules for asylum seekers.

    Whether Roberts’s recent maneuvers reflect a substantive change in his approach to cases remains to be seen. In isolation, it’s difficult to know what to make of the chief’s votes.

    That he is parting with his conservative legal views seems unlikely. This, after all, is a jurist who voted to uphold the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and strike down limits on firearms possession, corporate campaign expenditures. and all manner of race-conscious programs. Yet his recent moves are all the more interesting for that very reason.

  35. Maryland legislators pass $15 minimum wage

    Nothing is as powerful as a bad idea whose time has come. 72 percent of economists say that a $15 minimum wage is a bad idea. But Maryland’s legislature has passed an increase in the state’s minimum wage to $15 by 2025, on a largely party-line vote. The legislature is mostly comprised of progressive Democrats, who have adopted the $15 minimum wage as a political litmus test. So the increase passed by a veto-proof two-to-one margin. Maryland law only requires a three-fifths vote to override a governor’s veto. It remains to be seen whether Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican, will veto it and try to get legislators to change their mind.

    It is crazy to set the minimum wage higher than the current average wage. But that is what a $15 minimum wage would do in some areas in Maryland with low living costs and low wages to match. $15 per hour is more than the average worker is paid in rural Somerset County, Maryland. Democrats argued $15 per hour is needed for a “living wage,” but this is untrue, because a family with two $12 per hour wage earners can readily support themselves, and their children to boot, in Somerset County.

  36. New Zealand terror followed coddling of murderers

    Terrorists in New Zealand have massacred 49 people in attacks on mosques. None of the killers will ever face the death penalty, which does not exist in New Zealand. Forty more people were wounded in the attacks, so the death toll may rise. These vicious murderers may spend less than a year in jail for every life they took through this cold-blooded act of premeditated terror.

    One of the suspects reportedly had contact with Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik. Breivik killed 77 people, most of them at a youth camp, in 2011.

    Breivik’s coddled existence makes him a living inspiration for other mass murderers. Instead of executing Breivik, Norway allows him to live in comfort, at taxpayer expense.     “As a Muslim and as a leader in the New Zealand police I am horrified about the events that unfolded in Christchurch yesterday. I know this is a very distressing time for our brothers and sisters, but also for our wider community in Christchurch. I assure you we are doing everything we can,” Hassan said.

    Hassan went on to say that “police in Christchurch are working alongside our Muslim leaders, and extra staff have travelled down in the past day to provide support and ensure our cultural considerations are taken into account in regards to our Muslim faith. I reassure you, the New Zealand police is doing everything we possibly can to ensure people’s safety.”
