Contributor’s Links post for March 16, 2019

Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

  1. Slavery cases soar tenfold in five years (express, Mar 16, 2019)

“CHILDREN and young people are among the victims of modern day slavery whose ranks have soared ten-fold in five years, figures show. It is estimated that there are more than 13,000 cases in this country.

Simon Blackburn of the Local Government Association’s safer and stronger communities board said: “Children and young people face specific risks through county lines drug trafficking or child sexual exploitation, and it’s vital that councils have the resources they need to tackle this abuse and support the victims.

“The spiralling rate of council referrals is having a huge impact on council services already at a tipping point, including children’s services.”

He added: “Councils will not tolerate the exploitation of people in their communities… which can have a devastating impact on vulnerable people working for little or no pay for ruthless profiteers who threaten or use physical violence.”

Mr Blackburn said: “Modern slavery is a rising threat to our communities.

“Government needs to use the Spending Review to plug funding gaps. Because of its hidden nature, modern slavery is a major concern that everyone needs to be alert to wherever they live and report any suspicious behaviour.“

A simple phone call could make a world of difference to people living miserable lives at the hands of heart-less criminals.

”The National Referral Mechanism – the body that monitors human trafficking – found that reports have risen from 131 in 2013 to 1,306 in 2018. The rate of council referrals has increased by 66 per cent in the last year alone.

But the figures may be underestimated, according to the statistics from the National Crime Agency and the Local Government Association.

And the LGA last night warned that the financial burden of the increase in recent years is being felt by cash-strapped councils.

The Modern Slavery Act was introduced in 2015 to combat increasing numbers of offences.

Two people from Bath were jailed for their part in trafficking teenage girls from Vietnam.”

  2. Richard: The entire Use To Be Free World is descending (rapidly descending) into Third World nations. The Rule of Law is under attack and in most the right of Free Speech has disappeared. We are stuck fighting a rear guard action against the destruction of the rest of our rights.

Over the past 50 years we have allowed the radical left to gain enough power that they feel safe openly telling the voters that we have no right to disagree with them. They also think they have enough power to ignore the votes of the people and to insist that they are smarter (despite the obvious lack of intelligence in their purposed policies). Better educated (despite the current scandal of rich and famous buying their kids way into the prestigious schools. The kids of the powerful attend the prestigious schools on their Parents names) In thier minds this gives the leftist a moral superiority that destines them to be members of the ruling class in the feudal society they are trying to create. They don’t call themselves Nobles or Royals but they expect the rest of us to act as if they hold that title.

The members of the Propaganda Media are working hard to help the left create the new feudal society. Partially because there is a lot of cross over from the political ruling class and the media ruling class. The Media use to be less obvious about their superiority complex and their being the cheering section for the left win of the political ruling class. But now they think the left has so much power that they don’t have to hide the fact that they will lie, distort the facts and refuse to report on anything that makes the left look bad. Or would cause the left to lose power.

The article below shows their attitude towards telling us what is really happening and shows why once we have regained our freedom and control of the government we have to defund all government owned media companies.

NPR Issues Guidance On All The Details They WON’T Report About The Christchurch Massacre!

For a news organization, government-funded NPR sure does seem awfully focused on what they WON’T report about a major story, the NZ massacre.

Anyone else old enough to remember when the basics of journalism included gathering and presenting the “Who” “What” “Where” “When” and “Why” of the event? Those days are gone, replaced by progress and safety.,%202019%20at%2003:06:06%20PM

Guidance: On Names, The ‘Manifesto’ And Other New Zealand Mass Shooting Details

    Facts you don’t need include…Names:

-NAMES I. When it’s known for sure, the name of the shooter does NOT have to be endlessly repeated. Biographical details are important, but repeating the name over and over runs the risk of glorifying the shooter in some eyes. As we’ve said before, in many cases the news can be told without even saying the name (or names if others were involved).

-VIDEO: We do not plan to post the video the shooter reportedly made. Use of any audio from it must be approved by a DME.

You don’t need to see the manifesto:

-MANIFESTO. We will be sparing on reporting about what’s being referred to as the gunman’s “manifesto” and do not plan to publish it in its entirety if it becomes available. There is considerable research indicating that such statements inspire others. The DME on duty must OK how we handle news from it.

    Social media:

-SOCIAL MEDIA I. Do not retweet or otherwise point to other media outlet’s posting of the video or manifesto if they do that.

-SOCIAL MEDIA II. Let our engagement teams post first about our coverage and it’s certainly fine to then point to what they are sharing.

-SOCIAL MEDIA III: Be careful of other news outlets’ coverage. If you wouldn’t point to it on the air or in a Web story, don’t share it on social media.

Good luck ever getting to the “Why” if you’re not allowed to know the unsafe facts of events.

It’s hard to know what’s scarier, living in a world with lunatics like the Christchurch attacker, or living in world that chooses to put its collective fingers in their collective ears and shout “nah nah nah I can’t hear you”

This is the same media complex that demanded you had a right to see every last salacious photo of meat pyramids out of Abu Ghraib.

And it isn’t just NPR. There are a lot of people who think they should be the ones to control what you do and don’t see.

  4. Update: NZ Mosque Killer a Socialist, Ecoterrorist, Who Praises Commie China and Condemns Conservatism… Media Calls him a Trump Supporter

This was hours after the bloody terrorist attack in New Zealand.

On Friday a crazed shooter attacked two mosques in Christchurch and murdered over 45 Muslims.

The shooter left a 74-page manifesto (Ricjhard: When I click the link it says I don’t have p;remission to see that page) where “Trump” turns up one and only time.
Here is the one Trump reference from the killer’s manifesto:,%202019%20at%2003:06:06%20PM

    • It has been deleted. I have a copy but it is rather long and looking at it more carefully it really seems a little confused/conflicted as it is a potpourri of views with no interconnection except for the white genocide theme(as opposed to white supremacy) and his deliberate showing of his face on the video is making me really wonder about this a la Vegas. I am not so certain about his motives and I am wondering if there is a Jack ruby out there for him.

      • … no interconnection except for the white genocide theme (as opposed to white supremacy)

Thank you very much, Michelle, for making this crucial distinction. Propaganda Media will not tolerate even the slightest disambiguation of these two WILDLY different issues.

For those who have shed their Matrix-issued VR goggles, this refusal to stop conflating opposition to genocide with supremacist Nazism (quite a feat all by itself) constitutes a frank admission that, wherever Caucasians are allowed to flourish—without specious Zero Sum argumentsWhite Civilization quickly rises to standards of achievement that become an inadvertent, yet standing rebuke for the collective sloth of all other cultures.

Even Communist China’s much touted leapfrog into the future is bespattered with so much gore and universal destruction that its attempts at intellectual competition cannot be taken seriously.

Although unsurprisingly low advancement in Africa and South America is a given, the precipitous decline of Liberty in Western Europe is both anomalous and inimical to Caucasian Western Civilization.

New Zealand is but another data point, however much an outlier, that traces The Narrative™ of Cultural Marxism’s hatred for individual greatness.

        Just ask Howard Roark.

  5. Interesting Take: Christchurch Massacre Dubbed “The First Trolling Mass Murder” (Video)

YouTuber, Thomas Wictor, posted a video positing the idea that the Christchurch New Zealand massacre was not a race or religion inspired terror attack, rather it was the worlds first example of demented nihilist and a “Trolling Mass-Murder.”

The original video, which can be seen in full here is 12 minutes long (posted below), so we chopped it down to the 3 minutes that really matter for the point he’s making (you’re welcome).

His basic premise is that everything this guy did and said was typical nihilist trolling, from extolling people to follow PewDePie, to calling out Candice Owens as his number one influencer.
This was the first reality based mass murder. The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” of terror.

    The Atlantic agrees,%202019%20at%2003:06:06%20PM

    • I don’t agree with everything he says in the full video but it is interesting.

In my opinion ignoring the portion of the manifesto that says the massacre was committed to start a civil war in the US (and by extension other western nations) makes it easier for the left to do what to murder wants them to do. We need to keep pointing out how the left is using this massacre to try and seize more political power.

Will there be more massacres like this one?

Probably, however it won’t be Mosques that are attacked, the Moslems are going to have some type of armed guard in their Mosques after this.

Will it be some Day Care Center or school for small kids?

Possibly, although those in the States are being hardened so large numbers of causalities are going to be hard to achieve.

Will this touch off a civil war in the States?

Not by itself, it will make some of the leftists call for more gun control but they are already doing this. We are seeing the left pass new gun control laws and the police officials say they aren’t going to enforce them. We don’t need foreign murders to start a civil war, the home grown left is doing that without the foreign help

      • We need to keep pointing out how the left is using this massacre to try and seize more political power.

Properly naming things would be a fine place to start. The Left’s attempted ‘seizure’ (in every epileptic sense, too) of this otherwise predictable retaliatory outcome epitomizes their, “never let a serious crisis go to waste” mentality.

While this “crisis” phrase is at its most cynical in Rahm Emanuel’s sense, the quote’s basis was stolen from from a fellow wiener of the Frankfurter School.

“Only a crisis – actual or perceived – produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe, is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes the politically inevitable.”

        ? Milton Friedman

When compared to Emanuel’s actual speech:

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

        ? Rahm Emanuel

There emerges the malicious and inappropriate edge of opportunism. Particularly when compared to Friedman benignly predicting Capitalism’s spread.

The Left will stop at nothing to obtain unilateral advantage, no matter how unfairly achieved or illicitly obtained (e.g., Female-identifying males winning in competitive women’s sports). BAMN (By Any Means Necessary) is merely a neologism for an ancient Sophoclean maxim, “The end excuses any evil”.

This unilateral advantage being noted is a supreme fraud because it’s part of a “win at all costs” mentality whose only satisfaction is derived from causing others to lose?frequently in ways that bankrupt victims or needlessly corner markets (i.e., pull up the ladders).

Again, regardless of how Tarrant intended all of this, the Left will nuclearly transmute it into a one-sided win, no matter how radioactive.

A cursory glance at Clinton’s 2016 campaign proves that beyond all doubt. Between now and 2020, look for the Culturally Marxist Pomo Prog Left to milk every crisis like the farm’s last cow.

The cannibal’s feast during that summer’s run-up to election day will alienate voters and hitch the DNC’s wagon to a cascade of falling stars. Intellectual capons like Omar and Ocasio-Cortez are barn-door targets who’ll merely be first among the lowest hanging fruits that’ll get plucked (“plucked” spelled with an “f”).

      • milo.yiannopoulos
The Al Noor mosque in Christchurch targeted by Brenton Tarrant produced at least two terrorists, from a very small congregation: al-Qaida recruit Daryl Jones, killed by a drone, and Christopher Havard. The parents of these boys say their sons were radicalized by extremist preachers at Al Noor. The boys were in Yemen with the guys who trained the Charlie Hebdo killers. A 2014 story at (now scrubbed from the internet) quotes a mosque attendee who says, “A visiting speaker from Indonesia talked about violent jihad and plenty shared his views.” Three questions: How many news reports have you read these details in? If you’d known that this mosque was a terrorist factory, would it have changed your feelings about the news at all? Finally, how does it make you feel to learn that the media has been not just ignoring these facts but deleting stories to hide them over the past 24 hours?

  9. EU BOMBSHELL: How Brussels and Labour ‘planned to MERGE England and France in new region’ (express, Mar 16, 2019)

“THE EU was accused of trying to “wipe the UK off the map” when an outrageous plan to merge parts of England and France into a new region with its own flag was exposed by Conservative Ministers in 2011.

On Thursday, Parliament voted to extend Article 50, after Theresa May’s Brexit deal was rejected for a second time earlier this week. The motion commits the Prime Minister to seek an extension until June 30 if Parliament approves a divorce deal next Tuesday. However, Brussels sources revealed this morning that EU leaders will reject any attempts by Mrs May to restrict Britain’s departure to June 30.

According to one insider familiar with the Brexit negotiations, leaders, spearheaded by Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, will only accept a “long Article 50 extension” because they fear being blamed for the inevitable no-deal fallout on the Continent.

Many of the bloc’s most influential leaders, including Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron, have “no faith” in Mrs May’s abilities to secure the support of the House of Commons for her hated Brexit deal and see the only way out of no deal is to extend long enough to give the Prime Minister “suitable time to reflect and build a consensus in Westminster”.

As Mr Tusk leads the EU in a plot to reject the short delay and punish Mrs May, newly resurfaced reports expose another plot by Brussels to “wipe the UK off the map”.

In 2011, senior Conservatives revealed the details of a EU plan to “carve up Britain” by setting up a cross-Channel region.

If approved, the project would have seen southern England and northern France merged into a territory called “Arch Manche” complete with its own flag.

Tory Cabinet Minister Eric Pickles inherited the details of the plan by his Whitehall department from the previous Labour government.

The Communities Secretary said: “Labour ministers have been caught red-handed conspiring with European bureaucrats to wipe England off the map and replace our historic boroughs, counties and cities with transnational Euro-regions.

“Massive amounts of taxpayers’ money are being wasted on vanity projects.

“I intend to fight these plans, stop this waste and protect England’s national and local identities from EU empire building.”

Arc Manche was formally launched in 2005 to forge closer links between local councils in southern English counties with their counterparts in northern France.

It is was one of 12 cross-border regions set up under the EU’s “Interreg” initiative – criticised as an attempt to erode national identities.

The name “Manche” – meaning sleeve – was taken from the French name for the English Channel.

According to official figures, EU chiefs quietly poured around £1billion a year of taxpayers’ money into the regions and in 2011, they wanted to significantly raise the profile of Arc Manche at a cost of thousands of pounds.

EU officials had already commissioned a new “transnational emblem” to be rolled out across southern England, described by its designers as a “series of concentric circles symbolising the flow of projects and stakeholders” and “representing of so many bridges between territories”.

One Whitehall aide rubbished the emblem as “a bid to subvert the St George’s flag and the Union Jack”.

Among the projects designed to promote the Arc Manche there were a series of cycle routes seeking to link northern France and southern England.

Maps of the proposed routes showed cycle lanes stopping at the Channel and re-starting at the French side.

Details emerged just days after Eurocrats pleaded for more taxpayers’ cash for Brussels coffers.

Former Ukip leader Nigel Farage said about the project: “The Arc Manche is the perfect Euro project.

“Nobody wants it, nobody called for it and nobody knows what it’s for.

“Its proudest boast is a logo that wouldn’t have won a Blue Peter badge, and cross-Channel cycle routes.””

  11. the gateway pundit – Report: Fox News Channel Scrubs Scheduled Judge Jeanine Pirro Show After Ilhan Omar Controversy, Mosque Attack

Following the controversy over her remarks about Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the Fox News Channel has abruptly canceled Saturday night’s scheduled airing of the Justice with Judge Jeanine Pirro show that regularly airs at 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to a report by Variety. The sudden cancellation comes the day after a terror attack on two New Zealand mosques by a white eco-nationalist killed 50 Muslims and wounded dozens more.

Fox News Channel replaced tonight’s broadcast of Jeanine Pirro’s weekly program with a repeat episode of its documentary series “Scandalous,” just days after the 21st Century Fox-owned cable-news network said it condemned remarks the outspoken host made about Minnesota Democrat Ihan Omar.

The change in Fox News’s schedule was evident in an on-screen cable guide. But a Pirro broadcast had been placed in newspaper TV listings for this evening.

When reached for comment, a Fox News spokesperson said, “We’re not commenting on internal scheduling matters” and declined to elaborate.

During the course of a lengthy commentary on Omar, Pirro questioned whether Rep. Ilhan Omar’s belief in Islamic Sharia law conflicted with her obligation to uphold the Constitution:

“Your party is not anti-Israel, she is. Think about this. She’s not getting this anti-Israel sentiment doctrine from the Democrat Party. So if it’s not rooted in the party, where is she getting it from? Think about it.

“Omar wears a hijab, which, according to the Quran 33:59, tells women to cover so they won’t get molested. Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?”

“I don’t have to tell you, Nancy (Speaker Pelosi). Jews have been persecuted almost from the beginning of time, when they were forced out of Egypt, to the six million killed in the Holocaust. 12. Yemeni Army’s Targets Extend to Riyadh, Abu Dhabi: Commander (tasnimnews, mar 16, 2019)

“Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the legitimate targets of the Arab country’s military forces extend to the Saudi and Emirati capitals of Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.

“We have aerial photographs and coordinates of dozens of headquarters, facilities and military bases of the enemy,” Saree said on Saturday, according to al-Masirah television channel.

“The legitimate targets of our forces extend to the capital of Saudi Arabia and to the emirate of Abu Dhabi,” capital of the UAE, he said.

“We have manufactured advanced generations of attack aircraft, and new systems will soon be functional,” the commander added.

Yemen’s army and popular forces have enhanced their military capabilities and expanded their operations in retaliation for the ongoing US-backed Saudi airstrike campaign, which has killed or injured over 50,000 people as of October — as well as the devastating siege which has triggered a borderline famine. Women and children constitute most of the casualties from airstrikes and military operations.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies, including the UAE, have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.”

  13. Saudi Arabia for laws to curb racism against Muslims (saudigazette, Mar 16, 2019)

“In the wake of the New Zealand mosque attacks that killed 50 people and injured many, Saudi Arabia called for laws in some countries to curb racism against Muslims.

Addressing a Human Rights Council panel discussion here on Friday, Head of Human Rights Department of the Kingdom’s Permanent Delegation to UN Dr. Fahd Al-Mutairi expressed concern at some racist speeches and policies in some countries such as Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Britain, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

He expressed the Kingdom’s concern at the leniency of some of those who support the rhetoric of extremism, hatred and violence on the pretext of freedom of opinion and expression.

He said the Kingdom has repeatedly warned against racist and anti-cultural rhetoric and has called on some governments to adopt balanced rhetoric and policies that contribute to integrating Muslims into their societies.

Mutairi expressed the Kingdom’s deepest condolences to the victims of the Christchurch terror attacks.

Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf said his ministry is continuously following up on welfare of Saudis in New Zealand after the mosque terror attacks in Christchurch.

One of two Saudi victims of terror attacks succumbed to his injuries.

The second injured Saudi citizen, 19-year-old Aseel Ansari has narrated on how he managed to escape from the carnage in Christchurch.

The gunman saw Ansari and began shooting in his direction and hit him in the knee, but he “managed to jump to a house next to the mosque.””

“Al-Shehab Centre for Human Rights yesterday called for the urgent treatment of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammad Al-Beltaji, who is imprisoned in the notorious Al-Aqrab Prison in Egypt.

In a statement, Al-Shehab said that on 10 January Al-Beltaji started suffering symptoms of diseases that were the result of “intentional” medical negligence inside his prison. Some of the illnesses are psychological, Arab 21 reported.

On 3 March, Al-Beltaji appeared in court with the effects of the diseases very clear on his body. He told the court that he had not received proper medical care since the start of his illnesses.

The rights group condemned the “medical negligence and the violations practiced against Al-Beltaji and the other prisoners in Al-Aqrab Prison,” blaming the prison administration and the Egyptian prison authorities for any harm caused to him.

Al-Shehab called for the Egyptian authorities to give those being held in Egyptian prisons their right to human treatment and medical care, calling for the Public Prosecution to question those responsible for torture inside prisons.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Al-Beltaji’s family said that he had suffered a brain stroke that further deteriorated his health. His wife said in the statement: “We were surprised by the clear exhaustion during the court hearing,” noting that witnesses told the family that he can hardly move his tongue and arm.

Al-Beltaji’s wife also said that the “biased judiciary is a partner in oppressing and violating Al-Beltaji’s rights and rejecting that he be heard by the judge. The request of his lawyer to take urgent measures related to treating him ‘as a human’ was turned down”.”

  17. Egypt’s Court of Cassation upholds verdict putting 169 Brotherhood members on terror list (ahram, Mar 16, 2019)

“The Court of Cassation on Saturday upheld a verdict that placed 169 convicted members of the Muslim Brotherhood on the country’s terror list for five years.

The169 had appealed the May 2018 decision by a criminal court.

Saturday’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.

The 169 people were convicted of conspiring to infiltrate state institutions with the aim of overthrowing the regime by force and spreading chaos in the country.

The court’s decision is based on state security investigations which revealed that those convicted attempted to revive the group’s activities by recruiting new members to its armed wings, spread rumours and provided financial and logistical assistance to the Brotherhood, which was designated a terrorist group in 2013.

Under the country’s anti-terrorism law, any person placed on the terror list is subject to a travel ban and their assets are frozen.

Egypt’s terror list contains over 1,500 names, including top Brotherhood leaders.”

  18. Hungary Announces €30 Million Aid for Morocco to Control Migration (moroccoworldnews, Mar 16, 2019)

“Morocco’s Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mounia Boucetta met on Wednesday and Thursday in Budapest with the Hungarian secretary of state for economic diplomacy, Levente Magyar.

Magyar expressed Hungary’s will to support Morocco in managing migration through €30 million in financial aid. The package was approved at a summit between eastern European prime ministers and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in February.

Magyar also highlighted Morocco’s position as a regional hub and competitive platform facilitating access to the African market.

The Hungarian official said that Morocco is a “strategic partner of Hungary and a pole of stability in the region.” He expressed Hungary’s “strong commitment to further strengthen bilateral partnership ties” and to diversify cooperation in agriculture, higher education, and air transport.

In the wake of the meeting, on Friday, March 15, an Australian extremist carried out a cold-blooded terrorist attack on two New Zealand mosques, driven by anti-immigrant sentiments, according to a manifesto he wrote. Prior to the attack, he reportedly travelled to many Eastern European countries, including Hungary.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has spoken out vehemently against immigration and attempted to keep refugees and immigrants out of his country.

Last year, Hungary demanded the resignation of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein for criticizing “xenophobes and racists in Europe.””

  19. Fez Police Arrest 19-year-old Student for ‘Praising’ New Zealand Terror Acts (moroccoworldnews, Mar 16, 2019)

“Fez Police in collaboration with the Territorial Surveillance Directorate General (DGST) arrested on Saturday morning a 19-year-old trainee from the city’s Institute of Applied Technology (ITA).

The student, believed to be 19 years old, is accused of condoning terrorist acts in his social media posts.

The suspect posted a publication on his Facebook account in which he “praised” the terror acts that targeted people in two mosques in New Zealand on Friday, according to a statement issued by the National Security Directorate General (DGNS).

The New Zealand attacks left 49 people dead and at least 50 more injured, and have been widely condemned by an outpouring of support and sympathy for the victims and their family. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called the attacks “one of New Zealand’s darkest days.”

According to statement from Fez’s security services, the ITA trainee will be referred to the Judicial Investigation Central Bureau (BCIJ) for further investigation into his perceived espousal of extremist views.

In Morocco, incitement to terrorism in Morocco is currently punishable by five to fifteen years in prison. Until 2015, the charge was punishable by two to six years in prison. The law changed following concerns about the repatriation of fighters from zones of conflicts in the Middle East.

Elsewhere, other inflammatory reactions to the tragedy in New Zealand incurred the wrath of world leaders and internet users.

After news emerged of the terrorist attacks in New Zealand, Australian Senator Fraser Anning controversially blamed the attacks on Muslims, claiming that “massive Muslim migration” to New Zealand was normalizing violence in the country.”

  20. zero hedge – NZ Threatens 10 Years In Prison For ‘Possessing’ Mosque Shooting Video; Web Hosts Warned, ‘Dissenter’ Banned

New Zealand authorities have reminded citizens that they face up to 10 years in prison for “knowingly” possessing a copy of the New Zealand mosque shooting video – and up to 14 years in prison for sharing it. Corporations (such as web hosts) face an additional $200,000 ($137,000 US) fine under the same law.

Terrorist Brenton Tarrant used Facebook Live to broadcast the first 17 minutes of his attack on the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand at approximately 1:40 p.m. on Friday – the first of two mosque attacks which left 50 dead and 50 injured.

Copies of Tarrant’s livestream, along with his lengthy manifesto, began to rapidly circulate on various file hosting sites following the attack, which as we noted Friday – were quickly scrubbed from mainstream platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Scribd. YouTube has gone so far as to intentionally disable search filters so that people cannot find Christchurch shooting materials – including footage of suspected multiple shooters as well as the arrest of Tarrant and other suspects.

On Saturday, journalist Nick Monroe reported that New Zealand police have warned citizens that they face imprisonment for distributing the video, while popular New Zealand Facebook group Wellington Live notes that “NZ police would like to remind the public that it is an offence to share an objectional publication which includes the horrific video from yesterday’s attack. If you see this video, report it immediately. Do not download it. Do not share it. If you are found to have a copy of the video or to have shared it, you face fines & potential imprisonment.”

    Dissenter blocked in New Zealand

Along with the censorship of online materials and investigation of content sharing platforms such as BitChute and 8chan – where the shooter posted a link to the livestream of his attack, social discussion service Dissenter has been blocked in New Zealand. Created by the people behind Twitter competitor – Dissenter is a browser extension which pops up a third-party comments section for any website where people can discuss content outside of the control of the website owner.

On Saturday, Gab’s official accounts (@gab and @getongab) reported that “New Zealand ISPs have banned until it is “censorship compliant.””

Update: Shortly after this article published, we were informed that ZeroHedge is unable to be reached by Votafone customers.

    Milo banned

Meanwhile, far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos was banned from Australia in the wake of the New Zealand shootings after he said on Facebook that attacks like Christchurch happen because “the establishment panders to and mollycoddles extremist leftism and barbaric, alien religious cultures.”

Australia’s immigration minister, David Coleman, said in a Saturday statement that Yiannopoulos’s comments were “appalling and forment hatred and division,” adding “Milo Yiannopoulos will not be allowed to enter Australia for his proposed tour this year.”

    UK man arrested

While the Christchurch attacks were utterly reprehensible, supporting them is now punishable in the United Kingdom. On Saturday afternoon, a 24-year-old man from Oldham was arrested on suspicion of sending malicious communications in support of the mosque attacks. It is unclear what he is alleged to have written.

The Greater Manchester Police said in a statement that they “became aware of a post on social media making reference and support for the terrible events in New Zealand,” adding “Police have made urgent enquiries and a man aged 24 from the Oldham area is now under arrest on suspicion of sending malicious communications.”

“It is clear that people are worried and we really understand that… It is truly terrible what happened yesterday. It is hard to put into any form of words,” said Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson, who added “We have nothing to suggest any threat locally, but none of this can diminish how people feel and that is why we want to be there to offer more support at this difficult time.”

    • This is not just anti free speech but a determined attempt to stop free thought and is the thin end of the coming wedge all over the west. It will be interesting to see how our TV/MSM fed “Norms” react to this when some of them are gaoled for a bad taste joke at the pub.

      • Definite false flag,it smelt from the beginning,if they have to threaten their people and ours with prison for talking about it ,it is likely that they have something to hide for there is no other motive to keep people in ignorance,holohoax,dunblane,911,all are products of the commie agenda, and a bonus in that they demand to control free speech even further,it will be a very different picture in a couple of weeks .

    • NZ Threatens 10 Years In Prison For ‘Possessing’ Mosque Shooting

Thank you, Martin, for covering so many vital topics. This one is a Grand Slam and so disturbing in nature as to inspire the most vivid speculations.

I’ll be writing more on this during the news hour but it’s important to step in and agree with Michelle and Robert Cross about how sinister suspicious all of this is when held against the larger backdrop of recent events.

As it is, the Las Vegas massacre was weirder than a snake’s suspenders. That said, this entire NZ kerfuffle smells fishier than surströmming and makes the strangest Twilight Zone episode look like a soap opera.

  21. Our legal Aegean flights no threat to Greece: Ankara (hurriyetdailynews, Mar 16, 2019)

“Greece calling Turkey’s flights over the Aegean Sea a “threat” is incompatible with alliance and good neighborly relations, said Turkey on March 15, in the latest rejoinder in the countries’ Aegean dispute.

A Greek Foreign Ministry statement on Turkey’s military activities in the Aegean was “odd” in both its timing and content, Hami Aksoy, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said in a statement.

Turkey believes the free use of international airspace over the Aegean should not constitute a contentious issue between the two countries, said Aksoy.

“Greece, on the other hand, claims 10 miles of airspace beyond six miles of territorial waters in clear contradiction of international law,” he added.

“The fact that Greece perceives Turkey’s flights- which are in accordance with international law- as a threat, and presents them as violations is in no way compatible with alliance solidarity and good neighborly relations,” said Aksoy, referring to NATO, which both Turkey and Greece belong to.

On March 14, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an said that if Greece sends out fighter jets to intercept Turkish F-16s over the Aegean, it should not be surprised if Turkey responds to Greek flights the same way.

“If you take off, my [fighter jet] will also take off,” he said in a televised interview.

But the Greek Foreign Ministry had called Erdogan’s remarks “completely unacceptable,” claiming that Turkey’s flights violate Greek sovereignty.”

  22. Hate mail arrives after kindergarten asks imam to teach kids (DW, Mar 16, 2019)

“A Düsseldorf kindergarten has been hit with a barrage of hate mail for recruiting an imam to instruct children in religious education. The pastor behind the idea said he’d never experienced anything like it.

A child care center in the western German city of Düsseldorf has appealed to police after its plan to involve an imam in religious education lessons sparked a hostile backlash.

The Protestant kindergarten announced the pilot project last week, saying it aimed to teach children about different faiths and complement the regular visits they already had from a pastor.

Hartmut Wölk, the pastor behind the initiative, told German media he received dozens of abusive messages accusing him of being a “renegade,” an “anti-Christ” and of “paving the way for Sharia law in Germany.”

“We expected criticism, but I have never experienced anything like this,” he told the Rheinische Post newspaper.

Youth welfare authorities said the hostile response prompted them to involve the police. It also caused the government of the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), where Düsseldorf is located, to intervene.

    Threats ‘totally unacceptable’

Family Minister Joachim Stamp told the Catholic News Agency (KNA) that the threats and insults were “totally unacceptable,” stressing that religious diversity should be seen “as enrichment and not as a threat.”

The imam is due to start work at the kindergarten in April as part of the project — a cooperation between Diakonie, the social welfare organization of German Protestant Churches, and a Düsseldorf Muslim group.

The imam’s job will be to talk to the 3- to 6-year-olds about Islam and important festivals that Muslims celebrate, including Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. Wölk’s visits, which cover Christmas, Easter and Bible stories, will continue as usual.

Stamp said involving an imam in early religious education did not violate the principles of the Child Education Act, adding that the state government supported initiatives to further the religious openness of children.

“At kindergarten, children can learn, in a playful way, essential values such as tolerance, respect and fairness, which strengthen our social life,” the minister said.

The kindergarten in question, located in the Reisholz district, was deliberately selected for the project. Of the 41 children who attend, nearly half have a Muslim background.

The southeastern district is also home to the city’s first mosque with minarets, which is expected to open later in 2019.”
