Contributor’s Links post for March 13, 2019

Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

What a black eye for Zero Hedge. Here they were—with justifiable and hard-earned pride—strutting up the virtual Oscar® red carpet to join ranks with elite digerati exiles when Social Media heartlessly yanks the rug out from beneath these poor unsuspecting conspiracy nutters.

  1. Yet again two more presumably Islamic motivated honour killings in Germany+++
A young woman fell victim to a violent crime in Rinteln in the district of Schaumburg. According to the newspaper “Schaumburger Nachrichten”, the 24-year-old was stabbed to death.

For the relatives, the case was clear from the very first moment, confirmed the brother of the dead to this newspaper. He suspects the 27-year-old husband, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. The 22-year-old woman from Afghanistan had wanted to divorce her husband, who also came from Afghanistan, and there had been regular arguments about this. Also local residents report that it had become very loud again and again in the common dwelling of the married couple. To all this information the police is silent at present. Press spokesman Axel Bergmann merely confirms that the police are investigating a homicide. According to initial information, the 27-year-old and the 22-year-old had two children together, both of whom are infants. At 4 pm, the public prosecutor’s office in Bückeburg obtained an arrest warrant for manslaughter against the urgently suspected husband of the killed.
    Schaumburger Nachrichten

On Sunday in Halle on the river Saale a young woman from Afghanistan was found dead in the apartment on the ground floor of a high-rise building. Apparently she died of various stab wounds. According to first investigations it is “in any case” a homicide. The victim is estimated to be about 20 years old and a suspect has already been identified, reports the newspaper MZ. Yes, one is on the search for a person, confirms the responsible public prosecutor. More details are not yet to be published.

  2. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/03/12/study-white-people-responsible-for-blacks-and-latinos-higher-exposure-to-pollution/
Damn! Whitey strikes again. Before you even look at the article referred to I would be checking the political affiliations of those who made it. The left have polluted education and law and now are doing their very best to do so to science. ANY leftist scientist who writes a paper that dumps on whitey/Jews/males is automatically suspect IMO. FYI the last sentence below finished me WRT its scientific “credibility”.
Study: White People Responsible for Blacks’ and Latinos’ Higher Exposure to Pollution

A study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences claims that white people contribute more to pollution than black and Latino people, but the latter suffer from it more than the white polluters.

“The air that Americans breathe isn’t equal,” USA Today says in its report on the study.

“Blacks and Hispanics disproportionately breathe air that’s been polluted by non-Hispanic whites, according to a study,” USA Today says. “This new research quantifies for the first time the racial gap between who causes air pollution – and who breathes it.”

Racial–ethnic disparities in pollution exposure and in consumption of goods and services in the United States are well documented. Some may find it intuitive that, on average, black and Hispanic minorities bear a disproportionate burden from the air pollution caused mainly by non-Hispanic whites, but this effect has not previously been directly established, let alone quantified. Our “pollution inequity” metric is generalizable to other pollution types and provides a simple and intuitive way of expressing a disparity between the pollution that people cause and the pollution to which they are exposed. Our results are timely, given public debate on issues relating to race, equity, and the regulation of pollution.

USA Today reports that 100,000 Americans die from pollution a year, more “than car crashes and murders combined,” although the exact causes of death and how it relates to pollution are not explained.

“Even though minorities are contributing less to the overall problem of air pollution, they are affected by it more,” Jason Hill, an engineering professor at the University of Minnesota and co-author of the study says in the USA Today report, which notes that he is white.

“Is it fair (that) I create more pollution and somebody else is disproportionately affected by it?” Hill says.

“What is especially surprising is just how large pollution inequity is and has been for well over a decade,” Hill says.

The type of pollution analyzed in the study is PM 2.5 — grains of particulate matter that are smaller than the width of a human hair, according to USA Today. They are present in car exhaust, from power plants, and burning materials.

The study found that black and Hispanic Americans bear a “pollution burden:” Blacks are exposed to about 56 percent more pollution than is caused by their consumption. For Hispanics, it is slightly higher – 63 percent.

However, non-Hispanic whites experience a “pollution advantage,” meaning they breathe about 17 percent less air pollution than whites cause.

The formula scientists used in their study is driven by disparities in the amount of goods and services that groups consume and in the exposure to the resulting pollution.

“On average, whites tend to consume more than minorities,” Hill says. “It’s because of wealth.”

This one court case permanently compromised the ability of American industry (and society) to logically function. The ruling prohibited companies from basing advancement and management placement using IQ tests. Incidentally, wouldn’t YOU want the qualifications for overseeing installation and maintenance of INSTANTLY LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGE POWER LINES to include some passing scores on a typical IQ test?

Since Blacks routinely ranked lower on the company’s standardized IQ tests, America’s Supreme Court established a doctrine of “Disparate Impact” and that opened the door for complete abortions of justice.

Do IQ tests have a “Disparate Impact” upon really stupid people? Ummmm … no. Really stupid people have a “Disparate Impact” upon really stupid people. For an indication of this, just look at the ease with which Communist China is gulling Africa’s Black populations into their massive debt traps.

Disparate Impact essentially midwifed Affirmative Action, whose long term effect was to cast lingering doubt on the abilities of minorities who magically climbed corporate ladders in a pseudo-professional state uncontaminated by actual workplace competence.

The justifiable skepticism that was bred up in fellow workers and middle management has forever marred the genuinely respectable achievements of skilled minorities who, instead, must live under the suspicion of preferential promotion solely based upon race, gender, or disability.

A logical extension of this institutionalized bigotry was attained when the US Supreme Court ruled (in a $3.13 million decision) that Pepsico no longer could base hiring decisions upon whether the applicant had a criminal record. Please keep in mind that companies were long ago obliged to overlook misdemeanor convictions just so that they could find people to hire.

Try wrapping your mind around who gets held liable when a Pepsico delivery driver decides to re-offend by raping and murdering some little girl. This is isn’t about “deep pockets”, it’s about making intelligent society smooth out the rough sledding that most minorities cause for themselves even as Progressives attempt to legislate EQUALITY OF OUTCOME.

Evidently, having a FELONY RECORD creates “Disparate Impact” for Blacks because so many of them have felony records. Now, whose fault is that? Whitey’s?

Maybe Forward Time Orientation just isn’t a feature of low IQ people regardless of gender, race or ethnicity. A quick glance at low IQ cultures confirms that lack of planning and forecasting is routinely fatal to those incapable or unwilling to engage in such tedious, time-consuming, long range preparations.

Disparate Impact (in concert with Affirmative Action) effectively terminated the Right of Free Association that allowed employers to hire those whom they felt were best qualified for the job. Less obvious is how Disparate Impact effectively ended the ability of ordinary people to avoid being surrounded by violently hostile minorities who regularly impeded workplace productivity with increasingly arbitrary demands. Workplace prayer rooms and foot-washing stations, anyone?

How could this niggling legal counterweight to endless millennia of cruel, racist, natural consequences exclusively inflicted upon minorities by vicious Whites return to haunt mere trivialities like NATIONAL SECURITY and PUBLIC SAFETY?

Please search on how Spec Ops teams are being pressured to lower qualification standards in order to ensure admittance of women and minorities into SOME OF AMERICA’S MOST ELITE AND DEDICATED MILITARY UNITS. Any reduction of unit cohesion there? No sireee, Bob.

If that isn’t enough to frost your various protuberances, try having hiring guidelines for FIREFIGHTERS and LAW ENFORCEMENT degraded in order to meet DIEVERSITY EMPLOYMENT QUOTAS. What does it matter if a less capable, physically under-developed first responder is unable to drag your semiconscious glutes out of a burning building? Rest assured that you’ll be able to roast in those flames safe and secure in the knowledge that they’ll serve as a beacon for your now charred, virtue signalling corpse.

This single breach of normalcy opened the door for transgender, lesbian police chiefs, 0bama directing NASA to make Muslims feel better about themselves, and biological men to claiming (however temporarily) identification as women in order to set countless new medal stealing winning “records”. This last outrage is almost worth the price of admission alone just to watch the TERFs and Trans begin to Duke (Power) it out.

As an aside, it obliges one to speculate if all of these new “Women’s Records” in sports will require the same asterisk that Barry Bonds besmirched his own lifetime batting record with by surreptitiously abusing anabolic-androgenic steroids (i.e., temporarily identifying as an honorable sportsman)*. Look for LAWS that will illegalize printing of books or online publication of records which contain such injurious and hateful annotations.

      * Don’t even get me started about how the blind eye being turned towards abuses in organized sports demoralizes an entire nation of idiots thoroughly addicted to the panem et circenses of NFL, NBA, and now FIFA mindrot.

TLDR? Welcome to the hellish Disparate Impact of multimillion dollar damages (*cough* Omar Khadr *cough*) awarded to sniveling Muslims who endlessly blubber about how relentlessly Islamophobic hamster farts unduly oppress their ability to hump goats on the moon.

  4. Qatari diplomat called his driver a ‘black slave’ and ‘dog’, tribunal hears (telegraph, Mar 12, 2019)
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/03/12/qatari-diplomat-called-driver-black-slave-offered-50000-bribe/

“Qatari diplomat called his driver a “dog”, “donkey” and a “black slave” during a campaign of physical and racial abuse while working at the country’s embassy in London, a tribunal has heard.

Abdullah Ali Al-Ansari, a diplomat who is currently employed as the Embassy’s head of its medical centre, is alleged to have subjected Mahamoud Ahmed, 79, his former driver and the organisation’s night security officer, to mental and physical abuse over a number of years. The attaché allegedly treated him like a “personal slave” who was “on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week”.

It emerged yesterday during proceedings at the Central London Employment Tribunal that he also allegedly offered Mr Ahmed a £50,000 bribe to drop the unfair dismissal case against him in a bid to “buy his silence”.

Mr Ahmed, a 79-year-old British citizen of Somali heritage, was sacked from the Embassy in 2013.

He wished to bring his case to tribunal years ago, however it was halted for more than a year until a Court of Appeal ruling in a 2015 which meant that embassies could not claim diplomatic immunity against staff bringing legal actions. The landmark ruling meant that Mr Ahmed was able to proceed with his case.

Details of the Mr Ahmed’s allegations have now been heard for the first time as his case against the Qatari embassy and Mr Al-Ansari continued.

Mr Ahmed, claims he suffered racist and ageist discrimination which he claimed left him feeling like he was “in prison”. As well as alleging that he was repeatedly called “old man”, “dog” and “dirty one” and ‘abd’ in Arabic – which translates as “black slave” – he claims that he was physically attacked twice between 2007 and 2013.

The pensioner’s claim form, seen by The Telegraph, also details the allegation that he was offered a bung to drop his case…”

    • Mr Ahmed, a 79-year-old British citizen of Somali heritage, was sacked from the Embassy in 2013.

All that muddles the complexion of this otherwise straightforward legal case is how both parties are guilty of all accusations.

  5. French MPs Open Door to Franco-German Parliament (breitbart, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/13/french-mps-open-door-franco-german-parliamentary-assembly/

“The French National Assembly has approved the creation of a new Franco-German assembly that would see the two countries represented in a single parliament.

The future two-country assembly would be comprised of 50 French and 50 German deputies who will meet twice a year to discuss issues of cooperation, with the first meeting expected to occur on March 25th, Franceinfo reports.

While the plan was approved on Monday in France, the German Bundestag has yet to vote on the proposal which has been described as a way to “deepen cooperation” between both nations.

President of the French Socialist group Valérie Rabault greeted the news with enthusiasm, labelling it a “new step” in cooperation and relations between the two European powers.

Rabault argued that the first topics of debate in the first meeting should include investments in Germany and the amount of debt in France.

The new parliamentary assembly comes only months after French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel signed a “twinning” treaty to formalise areas of cooperation including economic and defence policies.

The treaty is set to also see the formation of so-called “Eurodistricts” along the Franco-German border that will see more in-depth cooperation between towns and cities that lie on the border.

While President Macron has seen a large degree of cooperation from Chancellor Merkel towards his stated goals of further European federalisation, the successor to Chancellor Merkel, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, rebuffed several of the French leader’s proposals this week.

Kramp-Karrenbauer, known in Germany by her initials AKK, said she did not agree that further centralisation of power in Brussels was the way forward but did advocate for further cooperation between European Union member states, and even called for a future joint European aircraft carrier.”

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/latest-afghans-report-firefight-involving-us-troops-61649888

“Afghan officials are reporting that there has been a friendly fire incident in southern Uruzgan province involving U.S. and Afghan forces and leading to the death of five Afghan troops.

There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military in Afghanistan.

Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Qais Mangal confirmed on Wednesday that there has been an incident involving a firefight in Uruzgan, but couldn’t provide any more details.

He says the Afghans have “a report of a misunderstanding between the U.S. and Afghan forces” but that exact details of what happened are as yet unknown.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Karim Karimi, deputy head of the provincial council, says U.S. forces mistakenly carried out an airstrike at an Afghan base near Tarin Kot, the provincial capital in Uruzgan, followed by a firefight that left the five Afghans dead. He says 10 Afghan troops were wounded.”

“Many Afghans are taking to social media, demanding harsh punishment for two men arrested in the kidnapping and killing of a little girl in Kabul, a case that has shaken the city’s residents.

Kabul police chief Gen. Sayed Mohammad Roshandil told reporters on Wednesday that the men confessed to their crime. The two were brought before cameras during the presser, which was broadcast live.

Roshandil says the kidnappers had demanded $300,000 from the girl’s father. He promised they would be dealt with speedily and according to the law.

The case has caused a stir on social media with users uploading photographs of the six-year-old girl, identified as Mahsa, who was kidnapped on Monday. Many are calling for “justice for Mahsa” and demanding authorities do a better job in protecting children.”

“An Afghan journalist who has long received death threats was seriously wounded in a bombing in the country’s south, while in the western province of Farah, the Taliban stormed an army checkpoint and killed 10 soldiers, officials said Wednesday.

Also in Farah, a local official was gunned down outside his home on Wednesday, a councilman said.

The attacks were the latest violence in war-torn Afghanistan even as the Taliban and the U.S. concluded another round of negotiations held in Qatar, with both sides reporting progress in the talks…”

  9. Rights group: EU complicit in violence against migrants (abcnews, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/rights-group-eu-complicit-violence-migrants-61648770

“A leading rights group has accused European Union states of complacency in the “systematic, unlawful and frequently violent pushbacks” by Croatian border guards of thousands of asylum-seekers to squalid and unsafe refugee camps in Bosnia.

Amnesty International said in a report released Wednesday that “European governments are not just turning a blind eye to vicious assaults by the Croatian police, but also funding their activities.”

The report said that “in doing so, they are fueling a growing humanitarian crisis on the edge of the European Union.”

Croatian authorities have repeatedly denied such reports in the past.

In a response to the Amnesty International report on Wednesday, Croatian Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic said that the ministry has received more than 200 complaints issued by international rights groups of alleged illegal and violent pushbacks of migrants, but that after investigations no foul play was detected in a single case.

“Migrants in most cases falsely accuse police officials of violence, hoping that this will help them enter the Republic of Croatia the next time they try,” he said in a statement.

Thousands of migrants have been stuck in Bosnia as they seek to move on toward Western Europe. Migrants mostly travel illegally with the help of people smugglers.

Currently, around 5,500 women, men and children are trapped in two small Bosnian towns near the Croatian border, Bihac and Velika Kladusa, living in defunct former factories without basic amenities, the Amnesty International report said.

People fleeing war and persecution “are beaten and robbed by the Croatian police and forcibly pushed back to legal limbo, left at the mercy of a failing asylum system in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the report said.

“In spite of these appalling practices at the border, the European Union has continued to allocate significant funds to assist Croatia in its border security infrastructure. The EU has also willfully ignored the failures of the European asylum system that make these journeys necessary,” the report said.”

  10. Wife, child of arrested Indonesian militant die in explosion (abcnews, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/police-wife-child-arrested-militant-die-explosion-61647289

“The wife and child of an arrested Islamic militant who was plotting attacks in the Indonesian capital have died in an explosion during a siege of their home in North Sumatra, the national police chief said Wednesday.

The woman is believed to have blown herself up hours after throwing a homemade bomb that injured an officer as police tried to search the house in Sibologa district on Tuesday, Dedi Prasetyo, the police chief, told The Associated Press.

Police officers at the location said there were two explosions and smoke at the house about 1:30 a.m., Prasetyo said. The woman had earlier refused calls from police and local leaders to surrender.

“Police are now still conducting sterilization at the crime scene and finding a safe way to evacuate the bodies of the woman and her child,” he said.

Prasetyo said the woman’s husband, known as Husein, was arrested on Tuesday after the interrogation of another suspected militant, Rinto Sugiharto, who was apprehended in Lampung on Saturday, uncovered plans for attacks in Jakarta.

Both men were members of Jemaah Anshorut Daulah, a militant network affiliated with the Islamic State group, police said.

IS attacks abroad have inspired Indonesian militants despite a sustained crackdown that obliterated an al-Qaida-affiliated network that was responsible for the Bali bombings in 2002 and other attacks.

In May last year, two families carried out suicide bombings at churches in Indonesia’s second-largest city, Surabaya, killing a dozen people and two young girls whose parents had involved them in one of the attacks. Police said the father was the head of a local Jemaah Anshorut Daulah cell.”

  12. France: Rally in Paris denounces suicide rate among police officers

Members of police unions and associations gathered at the Place du Trocadero in Paris on Tuesday, to raise awareness of suicides among officers.

Since the beginning of the year, 18 police officers have committed suicide, according to Guillaume Lebeau, the president of the association ‘Mouvement des policiers en colere.’ In 2018, 89 members of the French police took their own lives, according to media reports citing police unions.

Demonstrators say stressful working conditions and scarce resources have contributed to the deaths, by increasing pressure on police officers.

      ===============================================

BREITBART – Lisa Page: Obama DOJ Ordered FBI Not to Prosecute Hillary Clinton

Former FBI legal counsel Lisa Page testified to Congress that the Justice Department ordered the FBI not to charge former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with “gross negligence” by mishandling classified information.
Transcripts of Page’s closed-door testimony in July 2018 were released Tuesday by Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) on Tuesday, which included the following exchange with Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX):

RATCLIFFE: So let me if I can, I know I’m testing your memory. But when you say advice you got from the Department, you’re making it sound like it was the Department that told you: You’re not going to charge gross negligence because we’re the prosecutors and we’re telling you we’re not going to …

      PAGE: That is correct.

RATCLIFFE: …bring a case based on that.

Page confirmed that the Department of Justice led by Attorney General Loretta Lynch had “multiple conversations” about charging Clinton with gross negligence but noted that it would be a rare decision.

“[T]hey did not feel they could sustain a charge,” she said, referring to the Department of Justice.

President Donald Trump reacted to the reports on Wednesday.

“The just revealed FBI Agent Lisa Page transcripts make the Obama Justice Department look exactly like it was, a broken and corrupt machine,” he wrote. “Hopefully, justice will finally be served. Much more to come!”

  14. Islamic State counter-attacks out of final Syria enclave fall short -U.S.-backed SDF (reuters, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-islamic-state/islamic-state-counter-attacks-out-of-final-syria-enclave-fall-short-u-s-backed-sdf-idUSKBN1QU0Y1

“The jihadists, waging a last-ditch battle in Baghouz, a collection of hamlets and farmland near the Iraqi border, dispatched suicide bombers against SDF fighters, who thwarted the attacks, the U.S.-backed force said.

Islamic State launched the second counter-attack in the afternoon, “(taking) advantage of smoke and dust over Baghouz”, the SDF media office said. “Fighting is still continuing. (Islamic State) made no progress so far and were stopped.”

There were no SDF casualties. “They attempted to carry out suicide attacks but failed,” the SDF said.

Black smoke mushroomed high over Baghouz as the sounds of gunfire, explosions and planes could be heard in a battle that the SDF has said is as good as over.

In parts of Baghouz already under SDF control, dirt roads were littered with the scorched remains of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Many houses had been completely flattened and roads had been cratered by missile strikes.

Islamic State’s black flag could still be seen painted on walls, while others had been emblazoned with freshly daubed SDF slogans and the words “Down with Daesh”, an Arabic acronym for the jihadists.

Islamic State (IS) held roughly one third of Syria and Iraq at the zenith of its power in 2014, when its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared himself “caliph”, or leader of all the world’s Muslims.

Subsequently, IS was steadily beaten back by a range of enemies including the U.S.-led international coalition, suffering its major defeats in 2017 when it lost the Iraqi city of Mosul and its Syrian headquarters at Raqqa.

No Islamic State leaders are believed to be in Baghouz, according to a U.S. defense official. U.S. government experts strongly believe Baghdadi is alive and possibly hiding in Iraq.

The group is still assessed to remain a potent security threat operating in remote territory in both Syria and Iraq.

Mustafa Bali, head of the SDF media office, said its forces had bombarded Baghouz heavily overnight before engaging in direct clashes with IS fighters in the pre-dawn hours.

Live footage broadcast by Kurdish Ronahi TV overnight showed a series of large blasts lighting up the night sky over Baghouz.

    SUICIDE ASSAULTS
“There were suicide vest attacks by a group of bombers who tried to blow themselves up amidst our forces. Our forces targeted and killed them before they reached our positions,” Bali said.

The SDF has laid siege to Baghouz for weeks but had repeatedly postponed its final assault to allow thousands of civilians, many of them wives and children of Islamic State fighters, to leave. It resumed the attack on Sunday.

Around 3,000 IS fighters and their families surrendered to SDF forces in 24 hours, Bali said overnight. Three women and four children belonging to the Yazidi sect, a minority group who were kidnapped and enslaved by IS in 2014, were also freed, he said.

Islamic State put out a new propaganda video overnight Monday filmed in recent weeks inside Baghouz, maintaining its claim to leadership of all Muslims and calling on its supporters to keep the faith.

“Tomorrow, God willing, we will be in paradise and they will be burning in hell,” one of the men interviewed in the video said.

Though Islamic State is on the verge of losing its last piece of territory, Syria remains carved up among other parties to its multi-sided conflict: President Bashar al-Assad’s government, the Kurdish-led SDF, and anti-government rebels.

The war has escalated in recent weeks between the Assad government and insurgents in the northwestern region of Idlib, where Islamist militant group Tahrir al-Sham holds sway.

Overnight, government forces rained incendiary bombs on the area, where a full-scale offensive was averted in September by an agreement brokered by Assad’s Russian allies and Turkey, which backs his opponents and has forces on the ground.”

    • 3,000 surrender from ISIL Syria bastion as end nears (cgtn, Mar 13, 2019)
      https://news.cgtn.com/news/3d3d674d32457a4d33457a6333566d54/index.html

“Around 3,000 ISIL members have surrendered from the jihadist group’s last enclave in Syria, Kurdish-led forces said Tuesday, as air raids and shelling resumed after a brief lull.

A ragged tent encampment in the eastern Syrian village of Baghouz is all that remains of the large parts of Syria and neighboring Iraq since the ISIL group declared “caliphate” in 2014.

The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has been trying to crush holdout ISIL fighters for weeks, but the mass evacuation of men, women and children from the riverside hamlet has slowed down its advance.

Backed by the U.S.-led coalition, the SDF renewed its assault Sunday after warning remaining ISIL fighters their time was up.

Air strikes and shelling have since pummeled Baghouz three consecutive nights, killing scores of fighters and prompting hundreds of jihadists and their relatives to surrender.

Thousands handed themselves over Tuesday, after a deluge of fire hit the ISIL encampment the previous night.

“Number of Daesh (ISIL) members surrendered to us since yesterday evening has risen to 3,000,” SDF spokesman Mustefa Bali tweeted in English on Tuesday evening.

The SDF and the US-led coalition resumed shelling and air strikes on the last ISIL bastion Tuesday evening, interrupting a brief lull in fighting that had taken hold during the day to allow for people to surrender.

Dozens of SDF fighters massed at the entrance of the village of Baghouz on Tuesday evening.

Sherif, the unit commander, said his force was preparing to storm the jihadist redoubt. “We readied ourselves today and our spirits are high,” he said the fighter, who has been battling jihadists for years.

Earlier Tuesday, Ali Cheir, 27, an SDF unit commander, said his force and the coalition were pummelling the ISIL enclave at night to flush out jihadists.

“The objective of our advance is to terrorize ISIL fighters so they surrender, and for the civilians to come out,” said the 27-year-old.

Coalition warplanes Monday pounded the jihadist redoubt with 20 air strikes, destroying armored vehicles and arms caches, SDF spokesman Mustefa Bali said.

Since December, around 60,000 people have left the last ISIL redoubt, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, around a tenth of them suspected jihadist fighters.”

DEAL, England (AP) — The people of Deal would like a Brexit deal. Above all, they want Britain’s divided politicians to make a decision.

This seaside town facing France across the Channel voted strongly to leave the European Union in Britain’s 2016 referendum. Almost three years later, residents of Deal, the rest of the U.K. and the EU woke up Wednesday to political crisis and warnings of economic chaos if Britain crashes out of the bloc on March 29 without a withdrawal agreement to smooth the way.

“Potentially it is going to be a nightmare,” said Michael Eddy, a district councilor who lives in Deal, a few miles from England’s main Channel port of Dover.

  20. QUANTUM TIME Scientists have built world’s first ‘time machine’ in experiment which defies the laws of physics

Lead researcher Dr Gordey Lesovik said by putting scattered electrons back into their original shape they had effectively created a state which went against the ‘direction of time’
    By Greg Wilford

SCIENTISTS have built the world’s first time machine — sort of.

Working with electrons in the bizarre realm of quantum mechanics, they first created the equivalent of a break for a game of pool.

The “balls” scattered and, according to the laws of physics, should have appeared to split in a haphazard way.

But researchers managed to make them reform in their original order — looking as if they were turning back time.

Lead researcher Dr Gordey Lesovik, of Moscow’s Laboratory of the Physics of Quantum Information, said: “We have artificially created a state that evolves in a direction opposite to that of the thermodynamic arrow of time.”

His team used a rudimentary quantum computer, which carries information on subatomic particles. He hopes their findings, in journal Scientific Reports, will help improve processing power.

  23. In freshman Congress class, the barrel-of-a-gun Bolshevism is coming along nicely
    By J.E. Dyer March 13, 2019

When writing about radical leftists from the Marxist tradition, it is almost obligatory at some point to deploy one of Karl Marx’s most famous quotes: “History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce.”

The 20th century was the century of Marx-inspired tragedy. And the tragedy was truly mind-boggling, on an almost spiritually incomprehensible scale. We still don’t know how many people died in the terrible slaughters laid to Marx’s account. One hundred million? One hundred fifty million? Russia, China, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America. For millions, still, their names and fates are known only to God.

Yet in the 21st century, as if we learned nothing from this colossal tragedy (or better, atrocity), the United States of America – the indispensable nation in prevailing over state-organized Marxism – now entertains a freshman class of radicals in the U.S. House of Representatives, who fling out day after day the same themes used by Marx’s disciples to foment revolution and shape power struggles in national politics.

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2019/03/13/in-freshman-congress-class-the-barrel-of-a-gun-bolshevism-is-coming-along-nicely/

Richard: Be sure and read the rest of the article, it is well worth the time it will take.

See spells out what is happening and why it will fail. What she doesn’t say is that while we are watching both Marxism and the old consensus politics crash and burn we are also going to see massive damage and violence by the Marxist as they collapse into the trash can of history.

She correctly says that one reason the Marxists will fail is that the Citizens of the United States are too well armed. Mao said that all power comes from the barrel of a gun, well so does all freedom. The people who have allowed their governments to disarm them are not free people, they are slaves waiting for the chains to be locked on so they are easier to control on the way to the auction block.

Another that Marxism will fail in the US is the strong and growing middle class, this is why the left has always waged war on the Middle Class. They know that a strong and prosperous Middle Class is the best protection against autocratic governmental types being able to control all of our actions.

    • When that jihabi dehumanizes PTrump, she means all 63 million of us. Young Turks meet the Young Bolsheviks. A freak show scripted by the worst mass murderers in contemporary history.

Ok, the old lie won’t work, but that doesn’t mean we’ll “get on with the business of freedom, and hope, and a future” just like that. There will be a literal crash-burn. We’re already in a different place and it’s scary.

  24. With tank buy from Turkey, Qatar continues quest to stockpile a whole lot of main battle tanks
    By J.E. Dyer March 13, 2019

Multiple regional sources reported on Tuesday that Qatar and Turkey have inked an agreement for Doha to purchase 100 new Altay main battle tanks (MBTs) from Turkey, which produces the tank indigenously.

Commentary from Western observers has so far been spotty, curious, and even skeptical. Qatar is a very small country, subsisting in the Persian Gulf on a promontory off the Arabian Peninsula. Main battle tanks, are, well, main battle tanks. They’re used for lethal, terrain-chewing armor warfare on a landscape Qatar doesn’t even have. For the applications you might expect Qatar to plan for, something smaller and more suitable for things like local, mixed-platform defense (e.g., of the emir’s palace and government facilities) and population control would make better sense.

But Qatar has actually been investing in MBTs for some time. In 2013, Qatar signed a purchase agreement with Germany for 180 German-made Leopard MBTs. (Of those, 32 had been delivered by 2016, with 62 more in an active order-delivery process.)

Meanwhile, I recommend keeping in mind one of Dyer’s Axioms, developed during my years as a military intelligence professional: “Nobody buys a new army just for the heck of it.”

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2019/03/13/with-tank-buy-from-turkey-qatar-continues-quest-to-stockpile-a-whole-lot-of-main-battle-tanks/

Richard: A very informative and thought provoking article. Qatar buying Main Battle Tanks in large numbers says that someone (Iran or Turkey?) are planning on a large open country conventional war in the semi near future.

    Who will be the target?

Saudi thinks they are high on the list of possible targets and are trying to make the conquest harder by building the canal around Qatar.

Reports from Israel say they are expecting a three front war in the semi near future. Are they the target?

[JE Dyer:I recommend keeping in mind one of Dyer’s Axioms, developed during my years as a military intelligence professional: “Nobody buys a new army just for the heck of it.”]

The above sentence (the last in the article) is very true and one that we all need to keep in mind. Not only when thinking about the Middle East but also when thinking about how China is working to modernize their military.

    • As you’ve been hammering on for many moons, about the only way Iran wouldn’t be central to this mare’s nest dog’s breakfast was if North Korea were several thousand miles closer.

Qatar (with the deliciously appropriate and proper pronunciation of “gutter”) is just like Israel. Namely, it’s what ever-peaceful Muslims benignly term, a “one bomb country”. That these sand chiggers Gulfies didn’t purchase American hardware is about all that steams my bao.

Fortunately, should the need arise, it’s nothing that a little canned sunshine won’t cure. And that goes for every last Islamic $h!thølé coasting this plus-sized Arabian cesspool.

    • I wondered about that “channel” the Saudis were talking about last year. Sounded like a tardish eccentricity, just as MB-captive media treats all non-MB Arab news.

Could the Turks be shipping those tanks to Libya or Sudan, target Egypt? There’s a low-key war Egypt’s been fighting there against al-Q/MB/Turk since 2013. With precious little help from anybody other than Israel and Russia.

Italian teen Pamela Mastropietro who was murdered by migrant Nigerian mobsters last year was likely dismembered alive Italian media reports.

The horrifying revelations come from the testimony from Vincenzo Marino, a key witness in the trial of Nigerian drug dealer Innocent Oseghale who stands accused of murdering the teenage girl.

Mastropietro had become estranged from her family became addicted to drugs after a brief relationship with a Romanian man her mother claims.

Marino claims to have overheard Oseghale admit to the murder while he was detained at the same time as him.

The dismembered corpse of the 18-year-old Mastropietro was found in a number of suitcases last February and psychiatrist and criminologist Alessandro Meluzzi has alleged that the murder was associated with Nigerian organized crime gangs.

The killing also led to allegations of ritualistic cannibalism that is known to be practiced by Nigerian crime gangs that are operating across Italy and Europe, including in Ireland.

Sisa reportedly asked the question on Facebook Sunday as part of a larger discussion about her support for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who came under fire this month for suggesting pro-Israel groups pressure members of Congress to pledge allegiance to a foreign country.

“In a conversation on Facebook, I used some language that I see now was insensitive. Issues of allegiance and loyalty to one’s country come with painful history,” Sisa said in a statement to Politico. “At a time when so many communities in our country feel under attack by the president and his allies, I absolutely recognize that we need to address these issues with greater care and sensitivity to their historical resonance, and I’m committed to doing that in the future.”

As the Washington Examiner reported, Sisa is a self-declared “undocumented” immigrant whose parents brought her illegally to the U.S. from Argentina at six years old and is a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient. Her legal protection from deportation will expire next year.

Canadians need to have faith in the institutions designed to protect them, and at least one recent development will not help the RCMP’s credibility. 30. ‘CIA link’ to brazen raid on North Korean embassy in Spain on eve of Vietnam summit

Spanish investigators believe that two assailants who broke into the North Korean embassy in Madrid last month and took hostages have links to the CIA, according to reports.

None of the 10 individuals who broke into the embassy before tying up and beating staff as they looked for information on computers have been caught.

But sources from the investigation told the Spanish newspaper El País that they been able to identify several of the attackers from video evidence.

Although the majority of the assailants who sped away in two of the embassy’s cars before vanishing have been identified as Koreans, two of the group “have been recognised by Spanish secret services as being linked with the CIA”, El País reported on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, members of the investigation by the National Police and Spain’s CNI secret service contacted the CIA to ask for an explanation of possible US involvement in the break-in. The response, according to Spanish government sources, was “unconvincing”.

The break-in, during which the assailants took computers and mobile phones from members of embassy staff, took place five days before the start of the North Korea-United States Summit in Hanoi, which ended in failure after President Donald Trump broke off talks with his counterpart Kim Jong-un.

North Korea’s most recent ambassador to Spain, Kim Hyok-chol, played a key role ahead of the Hanoi summit, heading up the North Korea negotiating team that received a US delegation in Pyongyang in early February to discuss denuclearisation.

Kim Hyok-chol was expelled by the Spanish government in September 2017 in protest at North Korean nuclear tests, but he has not been replaced at the embassy, located in a quiet suburban area outside the Spanish capital.

Police were alerted to an incident at the mission when a woman, one of the eight members of embassy staff on duty at the time, began shouting in the street outside. Soon after officers arrived at the building, the 10 assailants sped away and ambulances were called to treat the staff for their injuries.

The attackers had bound the staff, placing bags over their heads and beating them as they searched for files. According to El País, the commercial attaché, the highest-ranking embassy official, was interrogated by one of the assailants in a separate room.

A court in Madrid is in charge of the investigation into the assault on the embassy but so far no arrests have been made.

The Telegraph has asked the US embassy in Spain to comment on the report.

  31. Byron York: Key House Republican on Pelosi impeachment pullback: ‘I don’t buy it.’
    by Byron York

    Print this article
Rep. Kevin Brady is the ranking Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee. As chairman in 2017, he pushed through the tax cuts that remain President Trump’s top legislative achievement. Now, he’s dealing with the role that Ways and Means might play in a possible Trump impeachment. (It is the only House committee that is permitted by law to demand the president’s tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service, and Democrats are currently taking steps to do just that.)

Brady and I discussed the committee’s role in the Trump investigations in a conversation for a new podcast Tuesday morning, but we started off with the news that Speaker Nancy Pelosi has come out (mostly) against impeachment. Pelosi told the Washington Post that impeachment is simply too divisive for the country, unless there are grounds that are “so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan” that impeachment is justified.

Brady doesn’t believe her. “Respectfully, I don’t buy it,” he said. The reason, he explained, is not that he doubts Pelosi’s sentiments. It is that he doubts her ability to impose her will on House Democrats.

  32. Sex Attacks up 30 Percent on Paris Public Transport System (breitbart, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/13/sex-attacks-up-30-percent-paris-public-transit-system/

“A report from the Paris Police Prefecture has revealed that sexual assaults increased by 30 percent in 2018 on the city’s public transport system, with over 1,000 cases reported.

In total, 1,159 sexual assaults were reported for the year on the city’s buses, metro, RER train, and other forms of travel across the Ile-de-France region which includes both Paris and the heavily migrant populated suburbs of the city, France 3 reports.

More than half of the complaints occurred in Paris proper, according to the report, but some argue that the number is even larger than the official statistics show.

Laurent Nuñez, Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior, explained in the wake of the release of the report that only ten percent of women subjected to sexual aggression actually report their experience to the police.

Surveys, such as the INED 2015 Virage survey, have shown that nearly half of the violence against women, 43 percent, occurs on public transport in the Ile-de-France region with another 40 percent taking place on the street.

Over half of women in a Paris Region Planning and Development Agency (IAU) study claimed that they were afraid to use public transport in the city due to fears of sex attacks and thefts.

Last year, a plainclothes police officer who works on the Paris metro system admitted that the majority of the arrests for sex attacks he had made were of migrant men from North African backgrounds…”

  33. Germany: Migrant Crimes Concealed to ‘Avoid Stirring Up Prejudice’ (breitbart, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/13/german-police-conceal-migrant-crimes/

“Authorities in a district of rural Germany covered up a long list list of asylum seeker crimes including rape, assault, and child sex abuse so as not to “stir up prejudice”, it has been alleged.

Internal police figures revealed 117 criminal offences took place at refugee housing in Boostedt, northern Germany, during the last three months, and that third world migrants housed in other accommodation in the municipality were listed as suspects in a further 23 crimes.

But officers neglected to announce the incidents after orders from the Interior Ministry instructed police that “active” notifications from the force’s press office on potential migrant involvement in crimes would be “irresponsible”, and likely to “stir up prejudice”, local media reports.

According to the regional daily, Lübecker Nachrichten, none of the offences in question were immigration-related, and instead the “long list of crimes” consisted of assaults — some of which were carried out with weapons, rape, threats, property damage, and theft, along with a number of “particularly serious” cases including the reported sexual abuse of a nine-year-old girl in February.

Boostedt has seen crime rise since the advent of the migrant crisis in 2015, with the 4,600 population municipality hosting 1,369 asylum seekers as of January 2019.

The number of offences carried out at migrant accommodation has more than doubled almost every year since Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the German borders, with 343 crimes recorded last year — up from 33 in 2015 to 69 the following year, then to 126 in 2017.

Amongst the total number of crimes recorded last year were two cases of murder or manslaughter, two incidents involving “crimes against life”, and four recorded sex offences, in addition to 28 drugs-related crimes and 61 incidents of theft.

In the town of Boostedt itself, crime surged almost 75 per cent in the last year, with the number of offences rising from 207 to 360, according to the Hamburger Abendblatt, which reports that the number of thefts “skyrocketed” from 68 to 167 over the period.

Ahead of Interior Minister Hans Joachim Grote’s presentation of last year’s crime statistics for the state of Schleswig-Holstein, in which Boostedt is located, a spokesman for the politician — who belongs to Merkel’s nominally centre-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) — admitted crime had risen in the municipality but alleged that the incidents were not made public due to a lack of reliable evidence.

The police headquarters in Bad Segeberg, which is responsible for policing in the region, has put out 217 press releases since December, however not one of these concerned any of the crimes reported in Boostedt, according to local media.

Since the beginning of the migrant crisis, German authorities have been dogged on several occasions by accusations that police forces in the country had been ordered to downplay or cover up crimes committed by newcomers.

In Thuringia for example, regional media outlets reported that officers were instructed not to produce press releases in the case of crimes carried out at asylum centres.

Police union representatives who described a situation in which officers were called out to “every refugee shelter, almost every day”, complained that migrant crime was being “systematically concealed”, however the state’s far-left premier, Bodo Ramelow, denied the allegations.”

  34. Syrian Migrant Murderer Acquitted Due to Psychiatric Illness Caused by War Trauma (breitbart, Mar 13, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/03/13/syrian-migrant-murderer-acquitted-due-psychiatric-illness-caused-war-trauma/

“A 24-year-old Syrian asylum seeker who stabbed his boss to death at work has been acquitted in a German court due to psychiatric issues caused by his past in Syria.

The migrant was working as a hairdresser when he stabbed his former boss, who he had previously referred to as “uncle,” in the back in the town of Troisdorf, just outside of Bonn.

According to testimony, the Syrian was extremely mentally disturbed and carried out the act in a paranoid fit of rage, Express reports.

The 24-year-old apparently believed in various paranoid delusions before the murder, including that he was being secretly monitored and spied on and spoke to inanimate objects including trees.

Presiding judge Anke Klatte sad that the Syrian had originally attempted to become a geologist in 2013 but had to stop as the Syrian civil war progressed and became more widespread and violent.

The young man, along with his brother, moved to Germany during the height of the migrant crisis in the autumn of 2015 but became restless and paranoid after learning that several of his friends and others had been killed in the conflict in Syria.

Judge Klatte claimed that the Syrian had made attempts to see a psychiatrist to help him with his mental state but was unable to find one who spoke his language.

As a result of not being able to find a doctor, he then turned to alcohol and drugs, which in turn led to him developing schizophrenic tendencies.

The case is not the first in which a migrant has brutally attacked a coworker on the job. In 2017, 39-year-old Syrian Mohammad Hussain Rashwani was also working as a hairdresser and viciously attacked the 64-year-old female owner of the salon with a knife, stabbing her in the neck.

Rashwani had previously been described as a “model of integration” by a local newspaper only a year before the attack.

The number of asylum seekers with severe mental illnesses has also been a cause for concern in several countries.

“The man was allegedly responsible for the death of five American servicemen, but was acquitted by an Iraqi court once the international coalition withdrew from the country. 12 years later, the IDF claims to have found the man again, serving in Hezbollah.

The Israeli Defence Forces announced on 13 March that Hezbollah commander Ali Musa Daqduq, who was arrested in Iraq in 2007, re-emerged as a founder of a Hezbollah cell in Syria — the Golan File. The IDF claims that the man was tasked with enhancing the cell’s capabilities to the point where it would be capable of striking Israel.

The Israeli military believes that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is unaware of the Golan File’s existence, but they still hold him responsible for any of the group’s future actions, the IDF statement said.

“We are exposing this terror programme while President Assad is sitting in his office and he doesn’t know about it”, an anonymous intelligence officer told The Telegraph.

The IDF said that the new group is mostly comprised of local Syrians, but its leadership is from Lebanon.

Ali Musa Daqduq is believed to have organised and carried out an attack on an American base in Iraq in 2006 that led to the death of five US servicemen. He was later captured in 2007 by coalition forces in Iraq, who kept him in custody for several years.

As the time for military withdrawal came, the US tried to extradite Daqduq to put him on trial for war crimes, but the Iraqi criminal court acquitted him and released him from custody in 2012, despite protests from Washington. He is believed to have travelled to Lebanon afterwards.”

    • 12 years later, the IDF claims to have found the man again, serving in Hezbollah.

Here’s hoping IDF warriors make sure the next time this terrorist is “found” will be during a disinterment.
